Had the pleasure of trying this place recently. The portions are great and the restaurant makes you feel at home, especially with Bruce, who I presume to be the owner, being so social. I wasn't sure what to order, but he took the time to ask about my flavor preferences and recommended a dish that ended up being perfect for me. That level of personalized service made a big difference. We got the Singaporean style vermicelli and the popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the vermicelli had a fantastic unique blend of curry-like spices that I had not tried before. Between the generous portions, flavorful food, and outstanding service, this place really impressed me. Bruce made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. My boyfriend had already eaten but stopped at Wok-In to pick up food to go, because I have no intention of making dinner tonight. We loved what we ordered last time so we re-ordered the same thing, even though there are other dishes I want to try. This is what we ordered: 1. Wonton mein: broth is deep & flavorful. The wonton is filled with a generous amount of pork, sprinkled with green onions. I usually love pho, but this is so good, it may be my new favorite!! 2. Boyfriend ordered swai fish with steamed veggies and rice. The owner, Bruce, recommended this the last time I came in knowing my bf likes to eat clean and Bruce nailed it. 3. An order of egg rolls with the veggies and fish sauce. It's hard not to nibble on this as we drove home but my bf didn't want me to make a mess in the car. Plus, I love to eat my egg rolls with the lettuce, daikon and carrots dipped in the fish sauce so I had to wait till we got home. 4. Limeade. Do NOT sleep on this !! This is tarty and sweet, refreshing, and so delicious. I've fantasized about this drink many times especially when it's hot. I even attempted to make this a couple of times, but it was not as good. I have to mention Bruce, the owner, greets all of his customers like his old friends. He's personal, professional and seems genuinely interested how his customers are doing. Lastly, most customers probably overlook how the food is packaged but it is packaged thoughtfully. My wonton broth was separate from my noodles so that it wouldn't get soggy. It was also in a separate plastic bag in case the broth spilled, which never does. Same with my bf's saucy swai was packed separately from the steamed veggies. The egg rolls were in a paper bag allowing it to stay crunchy until we got home. This restaurant is unassuming and clean. Everything on the menu is affordable. A few weeks back I was under the weather and looking for a "new" spot to get some soup. This place stood out and Im glad it did. Lots of parking around the place, I was seated fast got me a soup and hot tea. LIFE SAVER. I got the house wonton noodle soup and it was loaded too. Great noodles lots of flavor. I dont normally do hot tea at lunch or with my hot soup normally, but that day it was needed and both very good. Came back over that weekend to bring my wife and sign said temp closed and having a baby. YAY!! Congratulations. Excited to come back here and hopefully can bring my wife with me this week. Got takeout here! Tried the honey walnut shrimp, mango chicken, war wonton soup (super fresh wontons with bok choy), beef and broccoli and more! Everything was great and food was ready on time. I was introduced to this play by a coworker a few years back. Been coming by for lunch ever since. The portion of food is crazy large. I've brought other coworkers here and many of them will have to tap out and bring their lunch home. The food was OK. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I probably won't come again, but the people were very friendly. I would say like for the beef dishes. The beef just wasn't fresh and my friend had a fish dish, but the calamari wasn't fresh like the beef is super dry and it looks like it's kind of like has a lot of preservatives in it. Stumbled upon this place while driving up to Huntington Beach on a Saturday afternoon and it's a small mom and pop shop off the 405. We got there around 2pm and we were the only customers. The portion sizes here are HUUUGE!!! For a party of 3 we family styled it and ordered 2 Vermicelli Bowls (with Pork, Shrimp, Eggrolls), Popcorn Chicken, and Spring Rolls (Pork and Shrimp). This was wayyy too much food, we finished 1.5 of the vermicelli bowls, the spring rolls, and we actually ended up barely touching the popcorn chicken and taking it to-go. All this food plus 2 Vietnamese Coffees, and 1 Lemon Drink was under $100 including tax and tip. That's nuts and unheard of these days. It's both quality and bang for your buck! Please be patient when you come here. This is a mom n pop shop run business... meaning there's only one super nice and cool asian guy running the show up front. He's the server, cashier, food runner and busser. Cut him a break. A locals gem and a true staple of the community. Best broth in Orange County and enough cannot be said to show how clean this place is. The place is a piece of home where the owner remembers who you are and always makes an effort to make you feel comfortable.....in the middle of summer we've been here twice in one week...if that doesn't say enough. The pho is the reason we come, but the aero dynamic fashion and hygiene of the owner is why we stay. Man is quick with it from the kitchen and offers awesome service while also ready for a workout at any time. Tucked in a corner of an old strip mall, lies Wok-in. Shared parking lot. We got here on a weekday for lunch around 1230pm and was able to get table for 2. Service was slow and hard to get attention. The place was not packed however there were to-go orders being processed at the same time. We ordered spring rolls (you can request to modify the ingredients), pho and fish in garlic sauce (a few reads from yelp reviews mentioned this dish). But it was overpowering with too much sauce. However in my experience it was ok, nothing extraordinary. What I loved was the pho broth. Protein was less but the flavor was amazing. The fresh spring rolls were a delight with the dipping sauce. Perfect crunch to it. I wasn't a fan of the slow service and the fact that the server/cashier/food runner (all are the same person) was wearing a sleeveless outfit while rushing around. Just not hygienic. Update: You can run all the show you want but if your attitude towards hygienics is less important then I will choose to be comfortable else where. We love Wok-In an have been coming here for many years! They have a great assortment of Chinese and Viet dishes. I love their chow fun especially, and recently we tried their Singapore-style noodles and they've become something we order every time. IYKYK. Also super legit pho that'll beat anything you find in Costa Mesa. Aside from the food, Bruce and his family are the best, and treat us like one of their own. Update. I have coarse curly hair. There was short straight hair in my food. Check your cameras when I literally had to pull the hair out of my throat. Your response is a perfect example of your customer service. I wasn't done eating we were about to order more food. I have doctor diagnoses and pictures to prove my experience. WORSE EXPERIENCE!!!! First when I was there I found a piece of hair in my PHO. Then when I told the waiter, he was nothing short of rude and hostile. I had a really good meal at Wok-In / Costa Mesa. I did not anticipate the portion sizes that they serve. The entire order was cooked to order and fresh. The Hot & Sour Soup had a great spicy taste and comes in a very large (meal size) bowl. I ordered a side of Spring Rolls and Chicken Lo Mein for the entree. The entire meal was more than I could handle. The Chicken Lo Mein could be shared with two people easily. The food and service were excellent. The broth is richest and most flavorful I've encountered bar none and that's what sets this place apart. The egg rolls also had me at hello. Really great pho!! Also served in a big bowl with a generous amount of noodles and meat, I wasn't able to finish my bowl even though I wanted to keep going because it tasted so good. The person working there was very nice, brought us water, and gave us time to look over the menu since we got distracted talking. We also ordered garlic fries, which were good too. The young man who helped me (Bruce, I believe - my apologies if I'm wrong!) on the phone and once I arrived, went above and beyond to help me. First and foremost I want to thank the owner for being so amazing and accommodating for a large group of 11 people. We celebrated a coworkers birthday lunch here and the experience was GREAT! One of my coworkers placed all our orders about 20ish minutes before our arrival and it made the process a lot smoother. This was a great space for us to laugh and just catch up on life outside the office. Two of my coworkers constantly come here and know we all know why. Food was absolutely delicious, I wish I would have taken pictures of everyone's order as well as the appetizers ordered for the table. I ordered orange chicken and white rice - 10/10!
