The portions of their combos are generous and the staff are friendly. When choosing what to have, I always believe it is best to choose what looks fresh and hot. Beef and broccoli tends to be a safe choice. I am unsure if there are new cooks, but the vegetable egg rolls were not as good when compared to my first visit - they are decent instead of sooo delicious that you crave them afterwards. Sodas are refrigerated (canned or bottled), but you can request a cup of ice if you prefer it colder. read more

Easily the best Chinese fast food I've ever had. Massive portions, a staff so generous they could run a charity, and food so greasy and delicious it single-handedly kept me from collapsing in the parking lot. They really surprise me with their food quality. Consistently fresh never old stale or dirty tasting. And they have decent recipes and good flavors and using a lot of fresh ingredients from scratch. You kind of expect dine in restaurants to be better than this but I would rather eat here than most dine in Chinese places. My only complaint is their food can pack a lot of carbs and then also get really sweet and then their beverages are also extremely sweet. I wouldn't want sugar free options but would be nice if they could do some handmade drinks where they can control the amount of sweetness and if they just toned down the amount of sweetness in some of their items. Popped in here for some take-out for a family feast. It was suggested I go to a chain location (you know the one), but I was hoping for something a little better and found this spot on Yelp! The staff was friendly and I was thinking I would start with orange chicken, but there was not enough out for an order. The gal told me more was coming and true to her word, a new batch came out a few moments later. Of course, all of that was taken up by the to-go orders of the dude who was already waiting, but another tray quickly appeared, along with a few other items I ordered that were not sitting there on the steam table. If you are going to get steam table Chinese, go someplace that turns the food over quickly, and this location certainly does that. Something went wrong tonight! Hong Kong express has been my go to for the last two years! I thought it was the best Chinese food I've had in years! But tonight I bought my favorite, jalapeño chicken and wanted shrimp and vegetables. I don't understand why the jalapeño chicken had absolutely no flavor and was heavily breaded extremely heavy and dull! The jalapeño chicken usually is extremely outstanding. Tonight it had zero flavor! They no longer serve vegetables with shrimp! He made me vegetables he said were steamed but we're raw! The owners are super friendly. The portions are huge. I mentioned just in passing that my soda seemed a bit less sweet than it should be, and they insisted I take a bottled one from the fridge. As I was taking my leftovers with me, the owner's wife followed me out with an extra lid and bag. It's not fancy. The ambiance is as basic as you'd expect for a basic Chinese restaurant, old diner/cafe style. But these people are salt of the earth, it was clean, and the food was a great deal. I was dying when I saw them scoop food out for the guy in front of me. I thought, "that can't be right" over and over again. I have been to a lot of Chinese fast food places, but this one takes the cake. The only other place that I've seen that gives big portions is a place that's 30 miles north from Hong Kong Express and even they don't give this much. I got the 2 item combo with fried rice and chow mein. The worker gave me four big scoops of fried rice and then piled on the chow mein. I thought, "ok. That's a lot but he'll probably only give me a little bit of chicken." He then gave me three big scoops of orange chicken. Enough to fill up the rest of the container. So I thought, "ok there's no room for the bbq pork. He'll give me like a scoop." Oh no. He gave me another three scoops of that and just put it on top of everything. I didn't know what to do. I have to tip them. So I get home and I have one last thought, "what if it's gross?" It wasn't. It was delicious. The orange chicken was a little crunchy, but that made it better in my opinion. The orange chicken was good, the bbq pork was good, the chow mein was good, the fried rice could use a little salt but it was still soft and good. I left one star off because I didn't really take a look at the place. I will definitely be back and will update accordingly. Having gone to many Sam Woo's and their equivalent's for 2 and 3 item combos, I can safely say that this little hole in the wall is definitely worth your $5.43 for a two item combo. This is the only place that offers BBQ (Cha Shu) Pork in their combos without and extra charge. And they give a lot! Three things to remember: 1) CHEAP, 2) HEAPS OF FOOD, 3) BBQ PORK! Working late I tend to eat out a lot and trying to eat healthy and avoid MSG. This place does use MSG. The Fried Rice was steamed rice with vege in it. No seasonings , Orange Chicken was ok, but not great. I would recommend this to someone on a tight budget or as a last resort. I had eaten there before with a friend and the food then was passable. I was able to split the meal into 3 days worth of food so that was the only saving grace. It will be a while before I try here again. The establishment itself appeared clean and the servers friendly. Ok so I just had this place... Sunday at 2:30pm. No one is really in here other than the 3 workers and a small family. I am expecting nothing major since its already in a shopping area that has a bunch of mexicans lol They do not have a good selection of food items. Maybe I just went at an off time but who knows? So I wanted to sample this thing that was with chicken, shrimp and veggies they wanted to charge me 25 cents to try the shrimp....um ok why are u even asking which part of the item i wanna try if theres a charge? makes no sense. So everything was chicken no mixed veggies even! just fried rice and chow mein and chicken this and chicken that....oh and bbq pork i think.... and veggie egg rolls The portions are HUGE yes. But honestly I would def rather have smaller portions and better quality food. I got orange chicken, kung pao chicken with steamed rice. the rice was cooked really well (my fav part of the meal....um ya usually isnt lol) orange chicken...ok so the flavor/sauce was decent but the batter or whatever its called was soggy and the chicken part (if it was even chicken) was horrible!!! it was like i was trying to chew plastic or something....def not edible. They ran out of bbq pork when i got there a lil before 7pm. i was a lil bummed out since yelpers say it's the best food item :( So i got the fried rice/chow mein combo with orange chicken and shrimp with brocolli/cauliflower. rice=bland, light in color, comes with peas. tastes better with the chili sauce they give you chow mein=blah it's the orange noodles, which i don't like for some odd reason, and it doesn't haven anything else!! just orange noodles.... boooo orange chicken was ok. i'd eat it again i ordered some shrimp/brocolli/cauliflower thing. This is my favorite spot for Chinese food, they started to take cards as of yesterday when I went, I believe it's a $10 buck min. Their BBQ Pork is sooo goood!!! Panda Express stop making BBQ pork but this is so much better anyways- I love to grab food to go and take it to the canyon park down by dogwood st. You are in and out in mins.
