Pad See Ew Noodles Panang Curry
    Catherine Z.

Delicious! We ordered the pad see ew and the panang curry, which were both very flavorful and great. While the serving size is on the smaller side, this place offers great thai food for reasonable prices (both of our dishes were around 12-14 each!) This place is a smaller business, so parking spots might be limited but they also do takeout Would return again!

I was craving some Thai food when I saw this place nearby. There was parking though it can be busy during rush hours. The ambiance was nice as it was not too loud and good for families. For food, I got the pad thai chicken and pad see ew. The pad thai chicken was good though the noodles were a bit chewy, and the flavor was not as savory. The pad see ew was delicious and a favorite; the only thing was the oiliness but overall, still yummy.

We have been eating here for years! The service and food is hard to beat. The employees have been so incredibly kind. I love that they recognize us when we walk in and give us a warm greeting. The green curry here is my all time favorite. I love the fresh veggies they use. It's perfect every time. Another staple item is the Bangkok side walk. Egg, meat, rice, yum! When I want soup, I love the wonton soup. It's warm and comforting. We have ordered both dine in and takeout. When we dine in the staff is attentive and helpful. The restaurant is clean and my two year old loves looking at the fish tank. For takeout, they always get our order right. See you again soon!

Chicken pad see ew and mango sticky rice

This hit so hard. I was craving Thai food so bad so I caved and ordered delivery. I got the pad see ew and mango sticky rice. The noodles were super chewy and there was the perfect level of savory/sweetness. Although I wish the pad see ew had a bit more "wok-smokiness", there was a good portion and with a decent quantity of chicken. It also wasn't super greasy, which I appreciated. The mango sticky rice was also so good. The mangoes were so sweet and perfectly ripe (I wish there was more!), the rice super chewy and perfectly sweet, and there was so much coconut sauce! I couldn't stop eating and now I'm so full but so satisfied. I will definitely be ordering from here again :) Ratings Chicken pad see ew: 4.5/5 Mango sticky rice: 5/5

Got this delivered. And payed around $20 ! Amount of food for the price, stellar! I was skeptical of the pineapple fried rice, I'm not a pineapple on pizza person, but this did not disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed and indulged. Would definitely go back !

I ordered the exact same thing I did last time and they were about the same! Panang Curry - 9/10 outstanding flavor but only chicken and green peppers in a lot of curry Spicy Beef Salad - 9/10 - super flavorful dressing and the beef was more tender than last time! Just wish they had more lettuce & tomatoes Pad Thai - 7/10 still kind of bland and all the noodles stuck together Pad See ew - 9/10 really tasty! They pack items great for delivery! Excellent service!!

Wow, this place is amazing. The staff is friendly. They're welcoming very knowledgeable. Gave good food recommendations. The food came out hot. It was delicious the perfect spice. The restaurant was clean. I had to use the restroom and the restroom was clean. It was accessible. The staff is great overall great Thai food great prices Definitely will be coming back.

    Menu

Be careful with this business. They charge different amount than what they have on their menu. When I asked why, they said it's 3% transaction fee because I paid with credit card which is added on each item, then also charge you tax on those transaction fee. It doesn't say anywhere on their menu that the price is 3% more when you pay with credit card. This is a scam. They didn't give me an itemized bill before I paid. They only hand me the handheld machine to pay and didn't see the itemized bill until I printed it out. Their food is nothing extra ordinary and expensive for what they charge. The place is on the corner of Newport Blvd and Wilson. Never again.

The chicken wings to start were super delicious. I was impressed how crispy and juicy it was as well as flavors. The rice with the sauce that comes with it is addicting. 4.8/5. The sweet sausage and umami flavors of the dish it was gone quick. 5/5. The pad Thai was sus at first. They don't do chicken. Just tofu and shrimp. I guess that's the "authentic" way of making it back in the motherland. I got it anyways and it did not disappoint. So good. 4.9/5. Overall I would come back here. Here's what we ordered along with what I thought of it: Hanuman's Ceviche: 9/10 very good, just wanted more of it Thai Sausages: 10/10 very good, plenty to share Pad See Ew: 10/10 my personal favorite and will be reordering Drunken Noodle: 8/10 a good contender if you like spicy and a drier noodle Massaman: 10/10 a great option for steak and curry lovers Khao Soi: 7/10 this may be an unpopular opinion, I though the flavor was crazy and very good, it was just very very rich, I could only have a few bites of it Fried Chicken and Sticky Rice: 9/10 Coco Mango cocktail: 10/10 has a great thick consistency, I'm not a huge fan of coconut but this was kind of like a mango colada Lost in Samui cocktail: 10/10 this drink was delicious, love the pandan and very refreshing A note on both of the cocktails, the alcohol in them was not very strong at all, so next time I would just order the mocktail for half the price. I added my group to the waitlist online about 30min prior to us meeting there. After we checked in, it did take about 15-20min to be seated. It is a rather small place.

Everything was delicious and authentic and a hit with our party! We left stuffed and with leftovers but I will note the morning glory with crispy pork belly portion was a bit smaller than we've had at other restaurants. Dropped in solo, but ordered like I had someone with me. Service was great, very fast and attentive. Everyone I interacted with had a smile on their face. Inside was clean and modern. Ordered the Beef Khao Soi, the Papaya Salad, and the Crab Fried Rice. All of them were exceptional. The beef in the Khao Soi was sooo tender, the rich and creamy soup (broth?) with coconut milk was perfectly crafted. The Crab Fried Rice was delicious too. They have an option to go "super saiyan" on the crab for a hefty price... may be up your ally if you can spare the cash. Lastly, the papaya salad. A staple. A must order to gauge authenticity! Manaoo does their profiles right: the salad was super refreshing with a perfect balance of heat and umami. However my disappointment comes from the use of a shredder instead of hand-cutting. I know its for efficiency...but when I'm dropping close to $15 for this... I do expect a bit more refinement. Overall, Thai food is getting expensive, and Manaao is no exception. However Manaoo provides excellent quality and bold flavors with fresh ingredients; they make sure you want to come back for more. I'll be back in to try my other Thai favorites! Parking is abhorrent! Don't park in the adjacent lot. They do tow!

They also have lunch specials w an extensive menu. I read a review from someone who passed by everyday and was gushing about how amazing this was, me too I have passed by and was tempted to go in but my husband said why, we could go to Little Saigon closer to Huntington Beach. I was impressed by how beautiful the huge mural was in the parking lot which btw was ample, there was no need for a valet. I was surprised to be greeted by a Hispanic man and our server was also a Latina, the interior was so beautifully decorated like a shangrila, better than any Thai restaurant I went to in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. We ordered the beef satay, Penang chicken curry and drunken noodles, the portion was enough to feed an entire village! LOL! every entree came w rice, salad. Unfortunately everything was so sweet I thought I ate a dessert, I can't understand why everything is so sweet in 90% of Thai restaurants in USA, that is not the case in Thailand. The chicken in the Penang curry was so bland like coming out of the freezer not real chicken and the curry sauce was sweet so I could not eat it, the beef was chewy. The drunken noodle taste was Ok but it was also sweet. Over all it is 2 stars for me but I rate this 3 stars bc my husband needed to gain weight and he ate everything so the extra star came from him. I'm afraid the chef might also be a Hispanic man if all the help was so the food was not authentic, I don't think I will come back here. Still on soft opening mode so the menu was somewhat limited. The lovely owner Bew is so sweet and we learned that several members of her family has been in the restaurant industry in SoCal for a long time (from San Diego to LA and now OC). We ordered the following: * Fish cakes for appetizer, love the sauce that came with it. * Holy Basil with Crispy Pork Belly. This was full of flavor, and really love the sauce and everything that came with it. Definitely scored high on craveability. The only request I had which I relayed to the owner is - the pork belly was a little on the tough side. I made suggestions for them to try to remedy that. * Pad Thai with Shrimp was on point. Hubs enjoyed and devoured it in no time. * Thai Tea and Green Tea were on point as well. They have desserts coming soon that we cannot wait to try. I forgot to take pics of the menu so I took screenshots of menu from their website. Would definitely be back to support Bew at Nai Tong. Go check them out!!!

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

This is what we ordered and how I would rate everything: --Yellow Curry w/rice - 10/10 --Panang Curry w/rice 10/10 --Larb Chicken Salad 8/10 --Spicy Beef Salad 10/10 --Pad Thai 9/10 --Pad See Ew 10/10 --Mango with Sticky Rice dessert 10/10 Overall, I'm impressed that Siam Station is so amazing because it's located in Newport Beach (which isn't known for Thai food). When it's bad, like last night - I don't even want to take more than 2 bites. I ordered the cashew chicken yesterday, the sauce was clumpy and almost like glue? Instead of a nice smooth sauce that tastes good. Additionally; the veggies, chicken and cashews in the dish were scorched! It was burnt and still packed up to-go by the cook. There were also pretty minimal veggies in it. I get the cashew chicken because it was nice large slices of bell pepper and other veggies.....yesterday was small, soggy, overcooked little pieces of bell pepper.... No thank you
