Extensive menu, spotlessly clean place, from the tables to the condiments to the sparkling restroom. The chicken/shrimp manchow soup was gingery and bursting with flavour. 5/5 The chicken and vegetables were well prepared, crunchy vegetables and barely a drop of oil. 5/5 This is a Halal restaurant. I love the concept of the place and am not sure I've ever seen this broad of an Asian fusion concept before. I decided on the mango chicken which was quite good; the chicken was lightly breaded and fried and still crispy in the sauce. The flavor was good; it's labeled as spicy but definitely wasn't. They do have chili sauce on the table though so easy to add more heat. Heads up that rice is not included and needs to be ordered as a side if you want it. Entrees came out within minutes of ordering and beat our spring rolls to the table by a fair amount of time. Service was good and we really appreciated that a staff member asked us if we wanted the shade next to our table pulled down so the sun wouldn't be in our faces. Location is in a strip mall with plentiful parking.

The service is incredible here, and the vibe is cool-chic. Just loving the atmosphere here…read more As for the food, don't expect it to be a "traditional Izakaya" here, but that's not a bad thing. They do the "traditional" dishes with a twist / fusion. For example, the black cod is usually feel heavy with the miso based sauce, but they added some acidity to the sauce and they made the black cod taste rich and light (not to mention the black cod was perfectly cooked); traditionally the Brussels Sprouts would be finished by tossing balsamic vinegar over it. Sometimes that would still feel heavy. Instead, they tossed it with strawberry vinaigrette. So the acidity is very light and not too sweet. We finished our meal with the Yokai Signature Maki. Yes, they SHOULD be proud of this Maki enough to put their name on it. They hit it on the nail with the taste profile. I have a zero tolerance with spiciness, so they put the spicy mayo on the side, and I encouraged my wife to dip the Maki with it. She confirmed my suspicion that the spicy mayo took the maki to another level. We definitely will come to try other dishes. Edit: they comped us a slice of Matcha Cheesecake. While it is still not my cup of tea, but I was very impressed with how good it taste. My "dislike" is with cheesecakes because they feel heavy. Though it is still on the heavy side for me, but as soon as I spoon in a bit of the strawberry sauce, it just lightened up the whole thing. They have successfully amazed me with how well they play with taste.

We were then told that the business will be going through a rebrand with a new name and new menu offerings. For the moment the only thing that has changed is the menu. The exterior and interior is exactly the same. Flavours are very Asian fusion with things like kimchi fried rice and bi bim bap but there are also more mainstream items such as Rigatoni Alfredo with chicken and short rib Benedict. Flavours are still good with decent portions. We were checked on several times so service was good. What was a miss was how the food came out of the kitchen. Food came out sporadically with the last dish a full 10 minutes after the first leaving that person sitting and waiting while everyone else ate. This is still a very popular place. It was almost full for a Monday lunch.

There were long waits for the food, which for a party of four did not all come together. It was also probably sitting in the kitchen. Some of the food wasn't all that warm.. very little was done to make up for this as well. The food and presentation was overall very good, but just not served properly.. If we were to give the place, another chance we would wanna mention to the servers right at the start the experience we had the last time and to make sure none of these issues were to arise again. The ambiance would've been better if it wasn't so noisy and that's without full tables nearby. Parking in the plaza is very difficult, anď time consuming.

We ordered the milk bread with house butter and durian butter. If you like durian, you will like the durian butter! We also got the spring rolls which were great. It's a beautiful restaurant though and had good vibes. Service was good although it did slow down as we reached peak lunch time. The items that took the longest to come were the pho but this was acceptable since we weren't in a rush. The satay pho had a good kick to it and there was quite a bit of rare beef inside. Next time I would probably do a little bit of everything for their toppings. I think more noodles could have been added for a large pho but I was full. Next time I'd come to try more of their bbq items and appetizers. It's a bit of a splurge but definitely has a unique menu!

Since we've been here multiple times already, we're familiar with what cuts of meat we like and no longer have to get their beef meat platter. Also love that they currently have new BBQ dishes that are so good! Lemongrass Dai style beef plate 100/5 - LOVED this. This new BBQ dish was so packed with flavour and has the perfect beef marbling. So good we got this twice! Original Wang Galbi 5/5 - Delicious galbi with bone still on. Garlic Beef Plate 5/5 Sweet Soy Beef Plate 5/5 Qiquihar Special Meat 5/5 - Dish comes with cilantro, green onion and onion. Cold Noodle Soup 5/5 - This is a must get since it's so refreshing with all the BBQ meats. Korean style bibimbap 5/5 - LOVE this - comes with tuna and an assortment of other ingredients to mix together. Overall, I can't emphasize enough how delicious this place is. Their meats are high quality and I love that they're all marinated differently so you can really taste the difference in flavour. DIY sauce bar on the side. Great service as well - servers are always around to get you what you need. Definitely worth checking out for sure!

Location/Service This place is near the Yonge/Finch area (a…read morebit more south of Finch near Empress Walk). It's on the second floor of the building, so it's not hard to miss the sign and location. Parking is available around the block - just make sure you're eligible to park there to avoid any tickets. Inside is pretty big, can probably do big group sizes as well with privated areas. Staff were friendly and nice, and can speak English if you have any questions. Food They do charcoal BBQ kind of setup - so I find that a bit more flavorful compared with gas. Their meat selection is pretty premium - although not AYCE - it can fill you up pretty quickly. The meat gets cooked pretty fast too, cause it does become very hot with the charcoal - so it's better to coordinate with everyone to not overcook the food. There is an AYCE dessert bar on the side, which there's a chocolate fountain and a lot of different fruits or small snacks available, including marshmallows to finish up the meal. This place is always packed - the only thing I wish it would work better is their booking system. Even at 9pm, there were 50 tables ahead of me? That's so crazy!
