    Hot and Sour soup

Went to this place on a whim based on some reviews declaring this place a bit of a hidden gem. It probably must have been a good value at some point but it definitely did not seem like that when I went there recently. They had a daily combo which they advertise on the wall as if it is a great deal which has one entree that you choose from - Noodles, General Tao Chicken, Pork fried rice followed by the ubiquitous Egg roll and an option between Hot and Sour soup and something else that I forgot. This combo was 12 something pre tax and the place apparently is cash only I believe so it certainly did not seem like a "deal" to me. I was still going to let this slide if the food was good and unfortunately, it was just terrible. The hot & sour soup was one of the worst I have ever had. The General Tao chicken was so sweet that I was wondering if I should have hot sauce for dessert. The chicken was rubbery and the texture was completely off. I know the stuff i ordered is not traditional Chinese food and maybe this place does that better. However, even the generic stuff that is served needs to be somewhat decent which this was not. I don't like giving bad reviews to Mom and Pop type restaurants like this one looked like but there was truly nothing I liked here so I certainly won't be back.

I thought they were a lot better before but then again that was almost 25 years ago and I haven't been back since. I used to come here with my uncle a lot when I was young and it was really good as I remember it. They interior hasn't changed at since they opened only thing that's changed is their menu board as it got updated. Their prices are really cheap and the food is ok really good wok hei. There are plenty of parking in the rear as well as an entrance there. They food comes out piping hot and quick, we ordered 4 dishes and everything was out in under 10 minutes flat. We ordered the deep fried spicy shrimp, seafood congee (to go), wonton noodles, and a hot and sour soup noodle. the whole meal cost about $31 which is still fairly good. I found that the food now is bland and needed extra seasoning. I think if it's a quick bite, cheap and just something to fill you up Noodle Wok will do. Feijai Out!

    Prices went up almost $2!

Use to be my stable for affordable, quick, and tasty Chinese "fast food" - but that is no longer the case. The prices went up almost a whopping $2, so now a dish is roughly $10.50, whereas in the past it use to be around $8.50. For $10.50 I'd rather go to a dine in restaurant, and depending on which Chinese restaurant you go to in Sauga, $10.50 will most likely pay for your meal+tax+tips. Nonetheless, I most likely won't be heading back here unless I'm in a rush - but then again... why not just order takeout at an official restaurant? 3/5 now. 5/5 in the past.

    Easily missed, front view.

Old school, no frills Chinese fast food. Large portions for a very reasonable price. Don't be fooled by the non descript mall that houses this gem. Easily missed. Plenty of parking in the rear. Brisk take out, fast and friendly service.

I've been going to Noodle Wok for almost a decade now and have very fond memories of ordering fast and tasty Chinese food on my way home from work / school. The prices were amazing, the food was relatively delicious, and the takeout containers were packed to the brim with food. I went back the other day and saw that there were some changes. The interior is still very utilitarian with a bunch of food court-esque seating both front and back. The kitchen is still behind the counter where you can see the woks fired up cooking. In general it still looks like it would back in the 90s so keep in mind this is more a takeout place. I noticed that the menu had been updated, seemingly with fewer items, but increased prices. I'm not talking the usual annual jump, but like a $2 hike compared to the $8 dishes they used to offer. The cashier was still as dismissive/rude as always, but the food came out quick in under to 10 minutes so you can't complain. I ordered the basil chicken on rice since I remember the fried items being very oily (they really overused old cooking oil back then) and it came out exactly as I remembered it. Decent amount of rice, less chicken than I would've liked that wasn't the highest quality, and very very sweet sauce to mask the bland food. If I was still a poor student this would honestly be acceptable and quite good even, but with prices increased being similar to actual sit down Chinese/Cantonese restaurants I'm not sure Noodle Wok is competitive enough. I'll come back to try the other dishes and see how they are these days, but I'm not holding my breath.

Wows pleasantly surprised. First off, I have to admit I live in walking distance to this restaurant in Mississauga, aka commuter city, and never made it out here across the years. It's tucked away and even though it's facing the Main Street, often out of sight, out of mind applies. To be perfectly honest, I was expecting slightly tired looking run-down location with a small hidden kitchen. Quite the contrary. It's brightly lit, large conventional kitchen, clean and spacious, and has a steady stream of regular customers. In the ten minutes I sat there on a wednesday at 3 pm, 8 customers ordered take out. The outside shop display is extremely deceiving. Maybe because they dim out the windows with the blinding sun, beats me, but it was quite a shocker when I stepped foot on site. Foot was descent, not mind blowing omg-why-has-it-been-missing-in-my-entire-life. But hot, fresh ingredients that were cooked to order, and they were not frugal in the toppings. Definitely coming back if I'm looking for a fast food Cantonese take out. Only thing I can complain about is the hot sauce is not very spicy and doesn't have the usual kick I'm used to. Yummy in, shimmy out.

This is definitely my go-to Chinese food joint when I'm in the area. Been coming here for years and I love this place; you definitely get a big bang from your buck. I always get the House Delight on crispy noodle with the sauce on the side. I love the mix of crunchy and soft noodle after some time after putting the sauce over - yumm. The ratio of meat in the sauce is also very generous which is always very pleasing to see and hard to find with regular franchised chinese restaurants. The beef brisket soup is something "lighter" to have if you're not down for something too greasy. If you're looking for something fried and/shamelessly greasy, also get the deep fried shrimp dumplings (comes with 10 pieces) and deep fried chicken wings (4 pieces). The dumplings are stuffed well with shrimp and the wings are pretty big (a lot bigger than the wings you'd get at a place like Wild Wings). In terms of customer service, they could improve on this department as the staff speaks limited English, but for their food, I would still give them a deserving 5 stars. Bring cash. They don't accept debit or credit.

I've been here a few times in the past. Its very similar to not just noodles in downtown Toronto. You walk in and look at a menu which is basically just a bunch of pictures of food items on the all and you pick what you want to eat. I believe they also have a menu but really who needs to use those when you can look at warn out pictures and decide that way. I got the hot and sour soup which was delicious, it was very similar to the sam woo hot and sour soup which is one of my favourites. I also got the chicken lo-mein. All the food is made fresh when ordered I asked for no veggies in the lo-mein and they did this right away without any issues. The food was ready within 10 minutes. I took it home and it was delicious. The lo-mein was one of the best I've had. It has a lot of chicken in it. They are not skimpy on the amount of chicken they put in their dishes. In the past I'eve had the Singapore noodles and I really like it! Just be forewarned it has a lot of curry in it if you are not a fan. I will be returning soon and I plan on trying different menu items. I will edit and expand my review once I try a few more items off the menu.

    Shrimp wonton soup to go

If you are picky about interior design then this isn't the place for you. If you love cheap eats then this place is for you. All the meals are around 6.50 and the portions are generous. I've been eating here for years and will continue to do so. I always get the shrimp wonton soup (they give you so much shrimp they aren't stingy) and the stuffed eggplant. The pad Thai is good but it isn't a traditional pad Thai sauce, black bean and chicken, chicken wings, general tso. There is a lot of selection and they have pictures of all the meals posted on the main wall. You get what you pay for and a little bit more. You can tell that they are all hard workers.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.

See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.

The Taiwanese Braised Pork rice was good but definitely not as good as in Taiwan lol. Also, if coming here, you have to try their signature pan fried buns. That is what they are known for. I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!
