This place had mix feelings but on the good and weird side. Meaning I don't know if it feels like a restaurant or and antique / boutique shop put together. It's seems to be a lovely joke in the wall cafe made for its grand variety of Tea. They have other foods but I came for the Tea and the tea treats. Tea choice: Bombay Chai-hot Very good more towards the floral note than the spice chai side. Very good. Food: Scones of the day: Blueberry scones- good but feels to soft and cake like a muffin and not the crumbly scone texture I'm used to. The lemon curd side was good and the cream was very basic. Not reall clotted cream hit good enough. Cucumber Tea Sandwiches: Overall the sandwiches were fine but it's not the traditional style with Mayo or white bread. Didn't like the rye bread. Felt like it was too strong of a taste for the cucumber to shine through with its crispy refreshing taste .the rye bread masked with its slight caramel dark burnt taste. Then instead Mayo, they had a cream cheese chives on the spread, I was not a big fan since this not as traditional hence the 3 starts. Overall- a nice homey home comefort feeling of an antique home and cafe put together. Basically it's hue like someone s house turn into a cafe which interestingly makes it feel humble and small town living. Will go back for the tea but food wise- could be better. read more

This is an absolutely magical place, like discovering a new corner of Narnia. A beautiful cozy spot, serving delicious tea service (we loved our Almond, Valentine, and Snickerdoodle teas), and a wonderful array of sandwiches and paninis. We loved the cucumber tea sandwiches, the curried egg salad, and the chopped ham. Warm, generous, friendly service. We're from Massachusetts, but if we lived just a little closer, I would be here every week working my way through every tea and every dish on the menu. Do not miss!! read more

we accidentally showed up a few minutes before opening and the server was so nice and let us in no problem. The décor is the doily and purple stuff of Victorian nightmares, but the tea, food and most importantly service were exemplary. The chef came out and chatted and the lunches and baked goods were all so yummy. WE ordered a couple teas and took some leaves to go as well. When we couldn't find the type we wanted in the pre-packed area, she quickly wrapped some up for us. Our server was so amazingly friendly and the place was packed as we were leaving. Great stop. I highly recommend it. read more

Tried to go in at 2:30 when they close at 3:00 and the server said they were closed, even though the door was open. Very unfortunate as we were just going to grab a drink. read more

Their food is so thoughtfully prepared and executed. The service is great with attentive staff.

Amazing Lunch with a dear friend. I enjoyed the best ever lobster bisque with a lobster roll and blackberry tea! Wisteria is decked out with lovely holiday decor, as well! The friendly staff couldn't be more helpful! read more

Wisteria Twig is the cutest little tea spot and definitely worth the drive from the cities. I purchased a groupon for High Tea and went with my sister one afternoon. We were started with our first course of yogurt and berries, the next course was an entire scone (each) with a delicious pairing of lemon curd and another sauce I can't remember the name. The scone and sauces were so amazing! The next course was mini sandwiches and each and every one was delicious. I was savoring every bite. My favorite was a chicken salad served on a pumpkin bread. The last dessert course was huge. We were each treated to a slice of chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, and lemon cake. These were full slices and everything was good. The tea select is 2 pages long and had a huge variety of black, green, and herbal. I had a baclava tea that was really good and a plum tea that I also enjoyed. Teas are available to purchase as well. The service and atmosphere were amazing and I would definitely recommend going for tea, food, or a high tea experience. I loved all of it. read more

This was an adorable place! Very British with Tea Time events, and the Red Hat Ladies having a meeting, it was just too cute! My friend lives in Red Wing an suggested this place. We each happen to get the Grilled Chicken salad Wrap. It was huge! I had to cut mine in half and I ate the rest for another meal on a different day. But it was so good, it wasn't soggy, or dry, it was just right. I would definitely come back here again, and probably try another wrap, because they had others that looked just as pleasing. I tend to try familiar dishes when trying new places. Less chance of something that tastes horrible. read more

Our family stopped at Wisteria Twig for high tea on our way through town coming back from a vacation. We had a lovely experience! The tea was served with 4 courses: fresh fruit in a yogurt sauce, scones of the day with lemon curd and cream, an assortment of 4 sandwiches and finally, 3 cakes. It was SO much food, all of it tasted really good and was made fresh in house. My favorites were the caprese and cucumber sandwiches and the strawberry and chocolate cakes. Their teas were also very good - we started with their house blend black tea, followed by the creme brûlée and the sugar plum fairy, which was my favorite. The staff were wonderful, we had a toddler with us and they even made him his own little meal. Definitely recommend the drive to Red Wing for this one! read more

Highly recommended for lunch! Never had a bad meal here. Everything is so fresh and definitely made with all attention to detail and taste! I have tried the vast majority of the menu and trust me you will not be disappointed. The soups are to die for. The service is always fast and attentive. Hey Red Wing, please remember to give back and pay it forward as much as you can! Not certain if you know this or not, but the lovely owner of Wisteria Twig is making lunch for the kids daily. That of course does not come without overhead costs to her. Please join me in getting take out for breakfast or lunch there as often as you can! In case you are unaware, the Tea Room serves much more than tea. She makes the best beer cheese soup you will ever taste. Along with phenomenal salads, grilled paninis, wraps, and sandwiches and excellent soups daily. The food is fresh and local! Let's all do our part to keep our local treasures going during this difficult time! If you give Wisteria Twig a try I promise you won't be disappointed. For the record, I have no connection or relationship to the owner. I don't even know her name. I am simply a Social Worker who feels compelled to support a local business that is giving a meal to our children with nothing expected in return. Makes my heart sing! read more

Wow what a hidden gem here in Red Wing! I had the Pear Salad and my mom had the Granny Smith salad. Gorgeous presentation, good portion size and really fresh ingredients. Absolutely fantastic. VERY attentive, special care was given to a member of our party who has a serious food allergy (we called ahead to make sure accommodations could be made). My mom and I enjoyed an afternoon at Wisteria Twig for High Tea. It was such a lovely experience. The place was decorated so sweetly and everything had such a charming touch. The service was pleasant, wonderfully courteous and kind. The food was delicious. Started with fresh fruit and yogurt, followed by a cherry scone (delicate, crumbly and tender) with devontur cream and lemon curd. Next course was 4 small sandwiches, so balanced and flavorful (ham salad on multi grain, open face caprese - warm, chicken salad on pumpkin bread and cucumber on pumpernickel), dessert was a trio of treats that included a light, lemony cream cake, chocolate with a fudgy milk chocolate frosting and a raspberry crumb bar. We each had a choice of a couple teas, I tried the Sugar Plum Fairy and Baklava teas. Such a cute, pleasant experience for a road trip, winter adventure down to Red Wing. Will definitely come back!! read more

Went here for a girl's lunch last year. It was our first time here and it's a pretty cute place! The food was amazing, prices were ok for quality of food received and the desserts were made fresh and awesome! We'll eventually go back and suggest folks stop by here to check out! We got a French dip sandwich (if I recall correctly) and it was amazing! *I almost forgot to note to try the stuffed pepper soup - it's fantastic!* read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Red Wing - despite it being the coldest weekend of the year. And my car being frozen shut. And loosing my mittens. But one thing Minnesotans do better than any other state, has been REMAINING OPEN in cold weather, or any weather for that matter. Even when it is -20 degrees, mama still gotta eat. No one will give you a pat on the back for opening your shop, they just expect it. I was happy to say that we were the only customers in their sweet little tea shop for 2 hours that day. The waitress and manager were rolling silverware and chatting pleasantly the whole time, in-between filling our tea cups and bringing us piping hot soup. As I perused Yelp for a cozy lunch spot, this caught my eye. Mostly because I had no idea where it was and we were down for an adventure. This cafe is located on the second-floor of Pottery Place - a building with some incredible history. If you are not from the area - just stop downstairs at their ginormous 90's TV in the lobby and press Play. To the left, a lovely exposed brick wall and views out the front of the building, and to the right, you can enjoy the atrium with wooden beams and quirky corners. It looks as though it used to be a walkway, and they've fit 10-15 little tables into the space, against the brick wall and windows with plenty of light. The space was very clean, and the tables were already set with tea cups and doilies (if you've read this far, you probably like this stuff too). The tea choices were smaller than most tea shops I go to, but they were curated and delicious. Unlimited refills and you can change your tea choice up to 6 times. We ordered the scones with lemon curd and devonshire, a must. The scones were fine, but the devonshire - perhaps it was more authentic? - but it was sour and tasted like yogurt, no thank you. We tried the African peanut soup, and it was surprisingly awesome. I didn't have high hopes, but the savory peanut-butter soup with rice and shredded chicken, served with a baguette really hit the spot. The salads looked wonderful, and the pear salad came highly recommended. I would definitely come back for the eclectic experience and stay for the tea. read more

Homemade soups, fresh made sandwiches using local bakery breads - the servings are generous, the decor is nice. Have had the Beef Barley and Chicken with Wild Rice soups. Beef Barley was amazing! Pleasant little place for sandwiches and salads. I had a BLT that was great: thick, lightly toasted, fresh 7 grain bread with generous bacon. The mayo seemed homemade, too. The iced tea had a nice flavor too. read more

I was traveling in from lake city and saw that this seemed like a hidden gem. I should have known by the rude greetings by the young staff they seemed totally overwhelmed. The sandwich I came into town for I was told would take awhile because there were people before me. I was not in a hurry so I enjoyed the lovely iced tea. Oh and there were 8 in the restaurant. Thirty minutes later I was told they did not have the sauce and did not know how to make it! The chicken chili was salty and mostly beans! Not a pleasant experience at all! read more

Lovely high tea- black tea blend is brewed in the kitchen, but we enjoyed Stash tea bags with hot water at the table. Four courses, very generous portions; ours were fruit with yogurt (canteloupe, strawberry, grape, and kiwi), then a light scone (made with egg, so it was extra fluffy!), then chicken salad on pumpkin bread and cucumber sandwiches, then dessert (freshly baked chocolate cake included). Excellent service from a very personable owner, happy to talk with us about fun things to do and places to visit in the area. Great portions, reasonable price for high tea. We'll be back! read more

My husband and I love this place. We discovered it on a bike ride from Cannon falls to Red Wing and back. It's on the upper floor in the Historic Pottery building in a beautiful nook overlooking the atrium. We've been three times now, and I'll mention a few of the things that make it awesome: Rita, the owner, is an incredibly nice person and an amazing cook and baker. Her scones are fantastic. She bakes the sandwich bread herself. And she always fills our water bottles for us before we leave. The cafe has a full lunch menu with incredible desserts. The high tea (which includes tea and several courses -- very filling) is just wonderful, innovative (like the chicken salad on pumpkin bread!), and beautifully presented. The cafe has 6 tables for two and one table for 6, so it's a very intimate, relaxed space. Wisteria just celebrated its one-year anniversary. It's a real treasure that doesn't seem to be completely on the map yet. We plan to go there every time we're in Red Wing from now on! read more

Disappointing. I just moved to the Pottery Pace Apartments and was excited to have what looked like a very promising spot to eat right in the building. I ordered the Wisteria Pear Salad to go. I got up to my apartment and realized they had completely forgotten the pears! (the best part) (its called a pear salad) I headed right back downstairs and the place was completely closed up and the lady and other male behind the counter were gone. This is Saturday and it states on there site the hours are from 10:00am-5:00pm. Looks like they were out of pears and hightailed it out of there before I realized. I paid $11.39 for spinach, chicken, and a smattering of sliced almonds. (salad also comes with feta but i had to leave out because i have an insolence to dairy) Too bad. I will not be returning. read more

Wow! A real tea place! China cups, real English tea--Yorkshire Gold--and even though they have lots of flavored teas (which I don't like) this is a nice place to stop for a tea break. We also split a scone with clotted cream and jam--really nice. Look forward to coming back when I'm down this way again. read more

A surprising treat in a dying strip mall that used to house the Redwing pottery store. The service is fabulous and the tea service is delicious! No tiny desserts here. This is a great place for lunch or brunch in Red Wing. My most recent visit here was with my mother-in-law for a get together for her wedding. The scones are fantastic as well as the strawberry and spinach salad that I had for lunch.
