The donuts are so amazing! Fresh made each day, they are soft and full of flavors. Their filled donuts are filled to the brim. The bakery staff are friendly and even though there is often a long line, they get you through it so quickly. The prices are a little on the high side but it is a treat to visit and worth the splurge. Go earlier in the day for the most choices. The decor is so fun and full of town history including benches from Red Wing pottery, old shops from town, and even old bakery equipment. They also have a small deli that has more lunch choices and a coffee shop with gourmet options or just a simple cup of self-serve coffee with about a dozen flavor options. It is a wonderful place to sit around and visit while enjoying your sweet treats. We stop almost every time we are in town and even make the trip on some lazy Saturday mornings from the Cities, They have won many awards and one trip will explain why. If you haven't been there yet, give it a try!
I have heard of this place. I was thrifting and thought I should eat before hiking the Barn Bluff. There was no organized lines when looking at donuts. Lots of customers. I asked and the Bran muffins with honey don't have raisins in them so I bought 2. Also bought a donut with bacon on it and a custard long John. I ordered a Rachel sandwich with potato salad and pickle and a Bubbler. I ate some if it inside and tried a bite of bacon donut and bran muffin. They are probably better warmed up. The potato salad was meh as it was just potatoes with skin on, mayo and onions. I ate a little and tossed the rest. The Rachel was made with Cranberry bread but was soggy due to not draining the sour kraut properly. I ate half and brought the other half home.
Delicious. A must try when in red wing mn !! We tried the donuts, the sourdough bread, the cake pops (best one I've ever had), and a frosted sugar cookie. The only thing that was not amazing was the frosted sugar cookie. It was anemic looking, and the frosting had no flavor. Lots of seating options and a friendly & efficient staff!!
People were great at the bakery and very helpful. This was my second time and both experiences had been great. The donut and bagel selection is great as well as their support to local businesses is a win for the community. Horseshoe donuts (they called it something else ) as well as the scones were very tasty! It has the old flour bags on the walls which speaks to the history of the town. With new lighting it is very inviting

It's one of those touristy places that is "ok" but the hype around it makes you think it'll be amazing. Got there around 10am on a rainy Saturday and there was a line all the way through the space back to the door. The staff was friendly and handled it well. The cafe looked crazy with a line waiting for a table. The main issue, I think, is that none of the items in the case are labeled and move around throughout the day. So neither the staff or people ordering know what's available, where anything is, or where to go to look for anything in particular. If customers didn't have to ask 20 questions to get the 2-3 items they want the line might move quicker and the staff might be a bit less stressed. All that said: the donuts are fine. They're probably Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' quality. Taste like any other mass-produced, dialed in product from a shop that does ridiculous volume. Most stuff is just the same brioche or cake dough with different kitschy toppings. I think you could save yourself some time and a headache by going to Kwik Trip for some glazers and candy to put on top.

We stopped in here on Saturday. I used to work in red wing and this place has changed a ton! Big indoor retail area! We got some sourdough which is good. We also got a few desserts from the bakery case. The cake pop was very rich, basically just filled with cookie dough. The coconut macaroon was dry and bland. The sugar cookie also had very little flavor. The thing that really got me was all the flies in the bakery case. I watched over 20 files just landing on all the items in the bakery case. That really grossed me out!
We were not aware of this bakery until we spoke with a local resident. WOW! seriously! We were staying at the Treasure Island Resort and made a day trip to Red Wing. So happy that this bakery made our Red Wing experience ever more special. The donuts and pastries were amazing. Maybe some of the best donuts ever. The fresh breads we purchased were also amazing. If you are in Red Wing you have to make this bakery one of your stops.
Took a little day trip to Red Wing and knew I had to stop by one of the most talked-about bakeries in Minnesota, and wow, it did not disappoint! I stopped in around 2:45pm on a Saturday, and the place was definitely busy, which I took as a good sign. Despite the crowd, the staff kept things moving efficiently, calling up the next customer as soon as they were ready. I appreciated the semi- organization. The gal who helped me was polite, but nothing particularly memorable just kind of neutral service. The bakery itself is large, well-lit, and decorated with bright colors that make it feel fun and welcoming. It has a really cheerful vibe, and everything is displayed beautifully. Now let's talk about that bakery case... HUGE. One of the biggest I've seen, packed with donuts, cookies, cakes, and so much more. I wanted to try it all, but I narrowed it down to just one item: a chocolate cake topped with chocolate mousse, nuts, and a chocolate drizzle. WOW! This thing was SCRUMPTIOUS. Light yet rich, and totally indulgent without being too heavy. A total YUMMMOOO moment! Already looking forward to my next visit and yup, I'll definitely be back to try more!
Cute little place. We were passing through on a road trip and it's always been on my bakery bucket list to try. I love the little coffee shop too! We got a variety of donuts and pastries. The glazed raised is by far the best glazed I've ever had. The cake donuts were great too! The cream cheese danish might have been our favorite. Wow! It was early when we got there so maybe the staff just had an off day. We weren't greeted nor told what anything was so we were just guessing. Which is ok, we like to try new things. We did get a couple other things too. A white chocolate raspberry scone, not my favorite. Quite salty? Got a Caramel nut roll, was a bit dry but warmed up with a glass of milk and it was good. I'm a sugar cookie lover so when I saw they had some with buttercream on top, I had to get one! I was very disappointed as it was the most bland and not good tasting cookie. I did throw it away. Other than the couple things we will absolutely be back for the cream cheese danish, raised glazed and cake donuts. So glad we got to try it!
LOADS of options. We came later in the day which does make me question their freshness though. Everything we got was pretty good, nothing life changing, but hits the spot when you're craving a sweet treat! The person working seemed truly disinterested in our existence, but idk not gonna let that be part of my rating bc sometimes days are hard.

Stopped on way through as not in Red Wing often... this place has expanded since the last time I was in the area. It's beautiful inside and so many incredible donuts. Service was quick despite some rude customers. We also grabbed a Rachael and a breakfast burrito and the Rachael was so satisfying! We got 2 coffee drinks and they were not very good. We ended up tossing them and going to the coffee shop across the street. We will be back for more donuts! YOLO and refrigerated cream filled ones were our favs! read more
Stopped in per my friend's recommendation. I'm not huge on pastries/donuts... sweets in general (besides ice cream) but they had so much to offer I decided adventure out from my safe glazed donuts and got a strawberry donut and a french curve to go. They also sell food, coffee and ice cream. We ended up grabbing lunch - I got a smoked turkey sandwich, my friends got a Rachel sandwich and a breakfast burrito with sausage. Food was good. My friends also got coffee but said they weren't great, a bit watered down. They did have a sign hanging from the ceiling where the line forms for pastries. Even though there wasn't a ton of people in line when we got there we would have been next in line and they kept calling to help the next person but as someone who has never been here I needed to browse a bit to make a decision. But didn't want to tie a staff up while I was looking around. When I was ready to order I said so and the available staff still tried to bypass me despite me standing right in front of them. Also while I was waiting for my friends to decide a woman was waiting by the line sign but they already had a bit of people browsing.. the lady waiting had a bit of an attitude about the line process and the order they were helping people which was crazy but I understood the frustration. We were also skipping in line on the cafe side. While they were changing over duties. Prices were okay for most items. Service and customers came off as a bit rude overall. read more

One of the best donuts I've had. We stopped by on a Saturday morning before leaving Red Wing. The staff was very friendly and the donuts look glorious inside the display case. We purchased two rolls and four donuts. So far they have all been very good and we will be back for a return trip read more

We like to stop whenever we're on a roadtrip in that direction. It had changed since last we were there - remodeled a bit. While we enjoy coming there, we felt that the ladies behind the counter were very anxious to have customers make selections quickly . The one that waited on us was even rude. No smiles just standing there like we were taking too much time. I understand it's a busy bakery but we were there after 3 PM so the morning rush has definitely been long over. She didn't seem like she wanted to help us and when we asked for a bag for all the items we bought she never said a word just grabbed one and put our stuff inside. Hopefully next time we stop the attitudes will be improved! read more

We stopped in here to fuel up before hiking Barn Bluff and were delighted by the selection of pastries and other homemade food. The coffee selection was amazing and I was thrilled to see my favorite flavor - Highlander Grog. My boys enjoyed their donuts but the stand out was the cinnamon bread loaf. It was around $4 and could serve 10 people or more. It was soft and delicious. Free street parking outside. There's a good amount of seating inside. I can't wait to come back and try more things. Great prices, good pastries, okay coffee, not so nice service. This is a unique and cozy space with a large selection of pastries! They also have ice cream, coffee, and a selection of cafe foods. My partner is truly addicted to donuts and would eat them everyday if he could, so naturally we had to make a stop here while in the area! Large pastries for a very good price! It was hopping on a Saturday morning, so he jumped in line for donuts and I jumped in line for coffee. We took everything to go, but they do have two sections of indoor seating first come first serve. Hard space to socially distance in when busy. Pastries were very tasty, coffee we did not finish. A note about the service: The lady taking my order seemed upset. Get in get out vibes. Normally I wouldn't write about service as generally people are not paid well in the food industry. We made sure to tip which seemed to surprise her. The tip jar looked empty for how many people where there. I also want to note I worked bakery life for 5 years, and understand the high demands these business place on employees. The second incident that forced me to write about service took place when my partner was in line for donuts. He witnessed the employee shame the lady in front of him for not knowing the name of the pastry she pointed at. NONE of the pastries are labeled, so of course people are going to point at what looks good. Street parking, we took the donuts to a scenic spot on lake Pepin to enjoy with a view! read more
