This is the biggest Caribou Coffee location I've ever been to--spanning two floors, which was a pleasant surprise. The space has a warm, inviting atmosphere and the service was friendly from the moment I walked in. There's a cozy fireplace on the upper level, which adds to the vibe, although it wasn't putting out much heat during my visit. Worth noting: there's only one bathroom, and it's located on the main floor, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're upstairs. I tried their cold brew coffee/lemonade drink. It was interesting and refreshing, but probably not something I'd order again--just not quite my style. Overall, a great spot to hang out or get some work done. I'd definitely come back! read more

Stopped here on the way home from a Red Wing day trip and was seriously impressed! I ordered ahead on the app (super easy), and my drink was ready fast. Tried the caramel espresso shaker for the first time -- delicious! Treated myself to a new glass iced coffee cup too.....couldn't resist (it's cute). This is the nicest and biggest Caribou I've been to in MN -- two levels, cozy fireplace, and a bright, welcoming vibe. Spent about an hour and a half chatting with a friend. Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer Oh deer! Caribou and reindeer are basically the same thing? Who knew? But that doesn't mean you should only come to Caribou to catch Rudolph on a coffee break. Domesticated and wild customers alike should migrate to the 'bou, because the company "sleighs" making bucking good coffee! Of all the elkcellent coffee, teas, and smoothies that Caribou offers, the drink that I fawn over most is the Mint Condition Mocha. I love that you have the option to have it made with dark chocolate! Pair your drink with a selection from the all-day breakfast menu to start your day off right. Celebrate fall by grazing on a delicious pumpkin muffin! It's perfectly moist and stuffed with loads more sweet cream-cheese filling than Starbucks' version. With two levels, a fireplace and a conference room, there's no shortage of cozy spaces for studying...or reindeer games at this Caribou! The building itself is also unique and historic as it is housed in an old train station that was once a division headquarters for the Chicago Great Western Railway. Overall, I highly recommend this location for caffeine addicts, students, celebrated ungulates, and rail enthusiasts. Come alone or bring your whole herd! I'm always trying to find more local spots versus Starbucks (yes I know this is still a chain) when I travel, and this was right down the way from my hotel, so it was super convenient. I ended up going both mornings of my trip! The coffee was SO tasty. They had so many great options, but I love berry flavored coffee, and theirs was AMAZING. I wanted to drink a gallon of it! I did get a bagel one morning, it was pretty typical - I wish they gave more cream cheese with it. Regardless, I came here for good coffee, and that's what I got! Very nice Caribou the staff is great! This one is in an old trail stop depot and has lots of room. Nice cold AC and fast wifi. I got a depth charge and they filled my water bottle with water for me. Discussed the tour de pepin and the server was very knowledgebale about the area. They have good coffee and snacks and it is very clean. I loved my maiden voyage visit to the Caribou Coffee chain in Red Wing. It was a cozy comfortable space that was clean and quiet. There was a free library in the second floor which was very cool. I had a northern lites latte, which was delicious, low fat and sugar free. Accompanied by a great yogurt parfait that was cleverly packaged so I could stir in the granola and berries myself, it made a delicious change of pace for a healthy breakfast. I come here a least 6 times a week! I LOVE it!!! I walk in and I am greeted. The staff are always wonderful. My coffee usually doesn't take any longer than 2 minutes at the longest on a normal day. It is a beautiful building inside and even has a second floor and a conference room for anyone who want to hold a meeting. To the other people who wrote reviews about it being slow, there are going to be busy times just like any other business. Caribou does their best to make everyone happy. The only time I ever had to wait really long was at nine in the morning when it can be super busy and since I waited do long I got a card for a free drink the next time I came. I can't even tell you how many times I've driven by this Caribou on my way to and from Winona but didn't make a stop until just recently. After just one visit I'm disappointed in myself for not stopping by earlier. This place has a very cozy feeling inside and staff are extremely friendly, upbeat and aiming to please. The atmosphere makes it a great place to enjoy some coffee, meet some friends or even get a little work done. There is an upper level with additional seating if you're looking for a more private spot. They also have a convenient drive-thru in you're not interested in getting out of your car. Next time I happen to be driving by I will make a note to for sure stop by. Definitely a "go to" if your driving on Highway 61. read more

I had not returned to Caribou Coffee Red Wing since Caribou Coffee did away with their free re-fill policy (used to be that you received free re-fills all day). Now I get my coffee at Kwik Trip--it's maybe 1/3rd the price and you can be in and out in 2 minutes with nobody asking your name, if you want that in a larger size, how your day is going, sure you don't want a mint raspberry muffin "to munch on" etc. Note to Caribs: blue collar men do not "munch". Received a Caribou Coffee gift card as a gift, so I have been burning it up. Same service--upsell is the point of the faux friendliness. Same coffee--Coffee is ... not that great, frankly. Kwik Trip--it's right across the street and coffee is only like $1.70 for a gigantic cup. read more

Saw this Caribou while driving down to a friend's house from the cities and had to stop on the way back because the building it was in looked very cool. I believe it's in an old train station and it's right on the river, plus it's two levels. I thought the inside would have kept more of the feeling of the exterior of the building but the inside looked like a Caribou, which I'm still unsure how I feel about. Ordered a small turtle mocha. Service was good, speedy and very nice. The drink itself was alright-out of all the coffee chains, Caribou is probably my least favorite just because I think the coffee itself isn't the best, but I am glad I stopped cause of the location. read more

The actual space is incredible. Plenty of places to sit and the layout is great as well. The conference room is great for small meetings. The wifi is ridiculously slow (think dial up speeds). This is not the place to come and do work that requires a good wifi connection. Free but very slow wifi. I have been coming for years and I swear it gets slower every year. read more

Good coffee you expect from this chain. Not much in the way of munchies. The internet isn't great, but it's free. I like that they are open later than most places in town. The service is good. I'd rate them higher if only it was a better place to hangout, but it is always so loud, because the baristas constantly YELL at each other over the loud Muzak. Too loud to have a conversation or get any studying done. Also, it would be nice to offer free refills on house coffee - this is standard at most coffee shops I've been to. read more

I love this place.....its old time energy, wonderful ambience and courteous staff make this a definite NEED to go place. You can actually hang out all day, bring your computer, there is a ton of places to choose from to sit, the main floor with big comfy chairs and the loft area is like a living room. The drink was not prepared correctly and when I told the person who made drink about it Nic who I later learned was the manager, he got angry and gave me a dirty look. The staff was friendly, but they ran out of all their brewed coffee at the same time. I'm not too picky about coffee, so if I order a light roast and all you currently have is dark roast, I could care less. But if I order a light roast and have to wait 5 minutes because you don't have anything else brewed, I'm going to be less than satisfied. Favorite place for coffee, but also the only place for coffee. It seems to be just a little slow sometimes, but what place isn't? I only took a star because they annoy me by trying to upsell all the time. You have listen carefully at the drive through, because sometimes they phrase the question like, "so that's a medium milk chocolate mocha with 2 shots right?" a couple times they got me with that and I paid more for an extra shot. This coffee shop does not understand that people may actually want cream in their coffee. I guess you have to ask for it at the counter. If you didn't know that, you have to get back in line to ask since the counter people cannot multitask, or smart enough to ask you if you want cream. crappy service.
