The food was exceptionally delicious. Our party ordered two appetizers - the pretzel and cheese curds - and both were phenomenal. Two people ordered from the breakfast menu, two from the salads, and one from the sandwich menu. Every person was so happy with what they ordered, said the flavor exceeded their expectation, and there was something unique about their dish or especially well done - whether it was a dressing that they had never had before, a combination of flavors, or an egg being perfectly cooked. We were there to celebrate a couple's 60th wedding anniversary and they were treated to a complimentary dessert which was a pleasant surprise to them. They even re-enacted feeding each a piece of cake that they did 60 years at their wedding. Our server was excellent, attentive, and did not rush us. We spent over 2 hours enjoying one another's company over a memorable and delicious lunch. We are so appreciative to the staff and chefs at the Scarlet Kitchen for creating such a wonderful experience for us. It brought us all so much joy and have given us such great memories to look back upon.

The kids burgers came out shortly after the appetizer which was useful to keep them entertained. It was pretty much an adult portion size and a well cooked burger. The only issue was that it took a while longer for the adult food to come out, so the kids were all done eating by the time we got our food. We got the Scarlett Salmon, Cubano, wild Mahi, Swedish stew, and pot roast sandwich. The salmon had a nice crust to it, but unfortunately for me, that also meant it was pretty salty. The couscous, watermelon radish, and chimichurri that accompanied were all very tasty though and the chimichurri did have a good kick of spice to it. The Cubano had good flavor and the horseradish mustard was a great accompaniment. The pot roast sandwich had decent flavor but was a little dry. The Mahi was the more successful fish entree and the Swedish stew also got great reviews. For dessert we couldn't make a decision, so we got the dessert trio which was a triple chocolate fudge cake, orange blossom and raspberry cake, and passion fruit panna cotta. The chocolate cake was a little dry for me, the raspberry cake was moist with a nice summer flavor, and the Panna cotta was the standout. A perfect light option to end the meal, and it came in a pretty cup. Overall they did have decent food and portion sizes were pretty good given their higher prices. The highlights are the beautiful outdoor patio and the friendliness of the servers.

There's so much to take in that I had to set a personal limit (though it's reassuring to know I can always come back... and I will!). They offer a great variety: handmade chocolates, ice cream, coffee, and candies. It's a little treasure for anyone with a sweet tooth. The sweet smell of ch plate fills the air and you can actually see stuff packaging the chocolate (near the counter). The only downside was that the staff didn't greet us when we walked in....we kind of had to initiate the interaction. But once we got talking, things were friendly enough. I left with a small stash of chocolate treats, and they were delicious. Red Wing Confectionery is definitely going to be a regular stop for me whenever I'm in town!
