There's so much to take in that I had to set a personal limit (though it's reassuring to know I can always come back... and I will!). They offer a great variety: handmade chocolates, ice cream, coffee, and candies. It's a little treasure for anyone with a sweet tooth. The sweet smell of ch plate fills the air and you can actually see stuff packaging the chocolate (near the counter). The only downside was that the staff didn't greet us when we walked in....we kind of had to initiate the interaction. But once we got talking, things were friendly enough. I left with a small stash of chocolate treats, and they were delicious. Red Wing Confectionery is definitely going to be a regular stop for me whenever I'm in town!

The prices are a little on the high side but it is a treat to visit and worth the splurge. Go earlier in the day for the most choices. The decor is so fun and full of town history including benches from Red Wing pottery, old shops from town, and even old bakery equipment. They also have a small deli that has more lunch choices and a coffee shop with gourmet options or just a simple cup of self-serve coffee with about a dozen flavor options. It is a wonderful place to sit around and visit while enjoying your sweet treats. We stop almost every time we are in town and even make the trip on some lazy Saturday mornings from the Cities, They have won many awards and one trip will explain why. For the appetizer we got the Brussels sprouts with the horseradish mustard dressing and they were a hit. We even saved the dressing to use for the fries and sandwiches we ordered for the main. The kids burgers came out shortly after the appetizer which was useful to keep them entertained. It was pretty much an adult portion size and a well cooked burger. The only issue was that it took a while longer for the adult food to come out, so the kids were all done eating by the time we got our food. We got the Scarlett Salmon, Cubano, wild Mahi, Swedish stew, and pot roast sandwich. The salmon had a nice crust to it, but unfortunately for me, that also meant it was pretty salty. The couscous, watermelon radish, and chimichurri that accompanied were all very tasty though and the chimichurri did have a good kick of spice to it. The Cubano had good flavor and the horseradish mustard was a great accompaniment. The pot roast sandwich had decent flavor but was a little dry. The Mahi was the more successful fish entree and the Swedish stew also got great reviews. For dessert we couldn't make a decision, so we got the dessert trio which was a triple chocolate fudge cake, orange blossom and raspberry cake, and passion fruit panna cotta. The chocolate cake was a little dry for me, the raspberry cake was moist with a nice summer flavor, and the Panna cotta was the standout. A perfect light option to end the meal, and it came in a pretty cup. Overall they did have decent food and portion sizes were pretty good given their higher prices. The highlights are the beautiful outdoor patio and the friendliness of the servers.
