We were happy and relieved to discover Wise & Wright. We're a vegetarian family living downtown, and this place has lots of great vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options, fresh juices, and delicious vegan desserts we don't mind our son indulging in. A couple of bonuses for us as professionals is that they are computer friendly (lots of outlets by the tables and free wifi). We also love our waffles and this is the only local restaurant we know that does a great plate of waffles on the weekend! My experience at Wise and Wright was pretty disappointing. My husband and I came here for brunch today. I ordered a cappuccino, and the Spanish breakfast bowl, while he ordered a pour over and the salmon benny. He was happy with what he ordered, and when I tried his benny, it was quite delicious. The tartness of the hollandaise sauce was well paired with the smoked salmon. My meal wasn't so nice. My cappuccino was actually a latte, with less than 1/8 an inch of foam. My rice was still crunchy, and sitting in a puddle of water. The meatball was cold on the inside. In fact, my whole meal was barely warm. It was pretty flavourless. It was a very lacklustre experience for me. Take your chances with this place, if you decide to come here. Some dishes seem good, and others, barely edible. read more

Yummm!! This is by far our new favorite lunch spot! Wow, the food here is so delicious and healthy - a rarity in downtown Calgary. The Rancheros Bowl is my go to dish but I also love the Moroccan chicken flatbread, the salads, and the cashew cup is to die for! The greens are so fresh and flavorful. The menu choices are all interesting, wholesome and unique and their ingredients are SO SO fresh. Perfect portion sizes and reasonable prices. Pretty good! I ordered from DoorDash because I am from out of town. I ordered the Jamaican bowl with jerk jackfruit with shrimp and it had good flavor. I also ordered the mushroom bowl either salmon to eat tomorrow. I tried both and they are tasty. Portion size is good too! read more

Delicious. I ordered the Achilles Heel chicken and quinoa bowl. The order taker was happy to accommodate my need to make a substitution due to allergies. The food was served wonderfully warm without any of the restaurant industry seasonings and fake ingredients which can mar the taste of good food. Very pleased to discover this place. read more

Visiting from Toronto - the branding of this place really drew me in! I honestly couldn't pick any one item because they all sounded so great. I LOVE the sweet potato muffin and the turmeric cream cheese with the salmon is to die for (and I usually hate salmon). The cashew cup & the cashew nut butter built up toast is phenomonal. The coconut, mango, turmeric yogurt is also delicious. Highly recommended! read more

I've been here twice now and the food is decent. Good coffee. I like the idea, its styled nicely and has good options. The only annoying thing is WTF is with hipster service? Excuse me while I chat to my friends, text, stare off into space, instead of preparing your food when there's no one else in the place. Every time some trendy new place opens up I find the people who work there seem to think that they're hanging out with their friends and not working. Subway, Starbucks, McDonalds... these places all have far better service than this place. Why isn't good service part of the package? Its friggen basic. While your customers can see you, make their food and send them on their merry way, then chit chat when there's downtime. It gives the attitude that we need Wise & Wright more than they need customers... Please don't let me interrupt you with my business. Not a good foot to start on. read more

I love Wise and Wright's healthy concept, atmosphere, and décor. If you are someone that likes fast food and tons of sugar this may not be the place for you. But if you appreciate food sourced locally, healthy selection, and healthy to your waist line you will definitely love this place. I always find the staff really nice and I love the unique dishes they serve. I would highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches and I love their lattes. Their barista is awesome. I also went for brunch on Saturday and was thoroughly impressed. I highly recommend this place. read more

Love this place... I have worked in Bankers Hall for over 4 years and have been wanting something like this around. All the staff are extremely nice especially the girls taking your order and every food item i have tried so far has been amazing. ordered the mushroom flatbread with marinated veggie salad. Flatbread was tough. Mushrooms non existent, Onions not stewed almost raw. Sundried tomato pesto was more like cutup sundried tomatoes, bland at best. Very greasy. Questioned the counter guy as to whether it was the right salad and was given an affirmative response. Returned to the office to discover not the marinated veggies I was expecting but the farmers salad. Quinoa was mushy. Cheese mashed into the greens. No apple was identified. One skinny slice of radish. It might be healthy and the menu looks interesting but execution was severely lacking. read more

Went here for brunch on the weekend and it definitely did not disappoint. I recently moved back to Calgary from NYC and being a true foodie I have been missing my favourite go to places - especially for brunch. After trying this restaurant out I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Positives: great location, healthy farm to table food choices, large enough to accommodate a family of six, sleek decor, excellent prices (much lower than what I was paying in New York, and found the staff was extremely attentive and personable. I got the eggs benedict with the west coast salmon and a chai latte - both items I would definitely order again. All in all very happy to know Calgary has a place comparable to those in Manhattan, one I will definitely visit again. read more

It was around 6pm at the start of a long weekend, and I was deperately looking for a cafe around downtown that was open. Wise and Wright was the best possible place to stumble into. The staff were all super chill and helpful. Their menu is a tiny bit confusing to navigate but I ended up ordering the Chicken and Rice Bowl, which was super delicious and filling as well. Service was speedy and the atmosphere was very relaxed. It's a bit on the pricier side but I feel like I definitely got my money's worth. read more

Delicious food, shitty attitude. I've been a pretty big fan of Wise & Wright since they opened and have tried most of their menu but definitely don't think ill be going back anytime soon because the kitchen staffs attitude is horrible. I went today with two of my friends for breakfast, we all ordered the same thing, they got there's at the same time and I was just sitting there waiting. Kept waiting, waiting about 10-15 min after they got their meal I went and said "hi, I haven't gotten my order yet, is it coming" the guy casually strolls to the garbage and appears he accidentally threw out my order - totally fine it happens but the problem was zero apologise, nothing, just "yeah its coming" . So I went back and sat down, waited..... kept waiting another 10 minutes and I was pretty fed up, my friends had obviously finished there meals so I went and asked for a refund. The cashier was super nice and apologetic, offered to even give me the meal and a refund which I said was not necessary but then the cook steps in, says "bro your meal is right here" I told him its fine because I'd been waiting for almost 30 min now and the place was empty so not like they were busy. Instead of apologising for his mistake he just says "k whatever" and walks away with a shitty attitude. To the owner - your people are a reflection of the restaurant - shitty people = shitty restaurant and we know the place isn't shitty so you might want to fix your peoples attitude. read more

Unfortunately, after giving Wise & Wright 10 or so chances I am just not impressed. I love the idea of healthy food with superfood ingredients so I keep trying this place hoping it will finally live up to my expectations. I've tried a different item on the menu each time and so far the only thing worth my time was a flatbread. The thyme turkey meatball has no flavour and the rice wasn't fully cooked at all. The spicy vegan pho was possibly one of the worst things I've ever tasted. The spice wasn't flavourful it was just burning my throat and making me cough. Then the pho had plain logs of tofu floating in it. The avocado toast was good but nothing better than I could make at home. The breakfast sandwiches look sooo delicious... then once again they have no flavour and have a watered down sauce dripping out of them. The smoothie I got tasted so bland (at $6!!) it was mostly coconut milk so it tasted like fat and my friend even mentioned it tasted like butter. I'm not sure exactly what's going wrong with this place but I still hope the best for them and hope they revamp their recipes!! Overall, their coffee is delicious and the service is amazing which is what got them 2 stars. I won't be coming back until the food matches the price tag. read more
