I stopped by Cafe le Matin on the way to the Calgary Airport and on a recommendation from a friend. It's a cozy spot serving a lot of traditional breakfast, sandwich, and coffee items (which all sounded delicious by the way). However, one item in particular was very different from the rest: the beef bulgogi long sub sandwich. I knew it was on the menu for a reason and had to try it. The sandwich was big and loaded with juicy, tender marinated beef. A few other friends had the classic breakfast and the cafe sandwich, and both enjoyed their choice. The taste and value of the food alone already deserves 5 stars, but the kind, heartwarming hospitality of the service simply made our day. read more

Came here because it was new to us and nearby and we wanted a cooked breakfast. We both had the traditional eggs Benedict, and one was without bacon and tomato by request. The tea comes in a big mug. The breakfast plate is huge and beautifully presented and full of appetizing tidbits! The potatoes are some of the best we've ever had! This ended up being a hidden gem.of a place. The menu has some good variety and the eclectic interior decor fosters a cozy cafe feeling. I suspect this place is a bit nuts when busy as it took a little while to get our food (but not due to slacking and definitely because it was carefully prepared and well presented). read more

Stopped in here by chance as we were stuck in traffic and decided to pull over for breakfast. Really a quaint shop in a strip plaza. It wasn't an obvious find and I'm sure only the neighborhood locals are familiar with this place. Service is slow as there was only one person to serve and cook and another showed up about 45min after opening. We both had coffee, a traditional breakfast and I had the eggs Benny. The serving size is huge and mine was delicious! The hollandaise is the real deal and not some watery or onion flavoured packet you'd get from the grocery store. I was really impressed with my plate and hubby also enjoyed his breakfast. Food is 4 stars Service 3 stars Ambience 3.5 stars I'd definitely return for the eggs benny as this was a clear winner! They had a clubhouse sandwich that also sounded yummy. If I'm in the area, I'll stop here again for sure. read more

This place serves up some really surprising tasty food. It doesn't look like much from the outside, just a cafe with the usual sort of food. I ordered a clubhouse sandwich and I got a HUGE sandwich with good quality bacon, a ton of turkey (processed) and vegetables all nicely stacked. My co-worker got the special - fried chicken with sauce and rice. Again, a big portion and it was looked good. Think homestyle food but better than you can make at home. This is the best coffee shop/lunch stop in the area! Silver Springs is a lovely community, but this little gem makes it even better. The owners work tirelessly to bring quality atmosphere and food to it's patrons. They are so kind and friendly, and go out of their way to make sure your visit is enjoyable. Cafe le Matin has great coffee, breakfast and lunch menu items, but one of the best eggs benedicts I have had in Calgary. They have a few Korean dishes as well. The Bugolgi Long Burger is delicious and worth a try if you are feeling like trying something new and delicious. They also have Bipimbap. Their portions are very generous. You may have trouble finishing. As many businesses have struggled during COVID times, these folks have as well, but they are not giving up. Please support this family owned and operated business and keep your hard earned money local rather than supporting large chains who are often owned internationally. Also, they have some challenges with adjacent businesses inappropriately taking over the parking stalls directly in front of Cafe le Matin. read more

This little cafe is just down from my gym, so I thought I would check it out one day after a workout. The place is small, maybe seating for 20 people. Its set up kind of cafeteria style, where you order your food then pay at the end. They have simple breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast for $5, a decent deal if you ask me! They also have sandwiches and wraps, all freshly made. There are also baked goods, cookies, cinnamon buns. I thought I would try a bowl of their broccoli soup and grabbed a croissant as well. Just those things came to $6. I also got a medium cappuccino for $3.45, but the size of it was more like a large! The other coffees were around the same pricing. The soup was fresh, it had potatoes in it, which was a bit different, but it was quite good. For the size of the soup, the croissant and the cappuccino it was a decent deal! I would definitely return to Cafe Le Matin, it had a very local feel to it and I was happy with the food and coffee I got. Maybe I'll try breakfast next! read more

What a cozy little cafe! Husband and I pooped in here for a well deserved meal break, just before heading down the row to the hair salon. Everything looked and smelled so good, that it was hard to make a choice. We both settled on a grilled ham and cheese. Comfort food at it's best. The sandwiches came out piping hot, ooey gooey melty with cheese, and a great amount of ham. Ketchup on hand, it was win-win! We inhaled our sandwiches, and they were delicious to the last bite. This cafe is quaint, local and the owners are fantastic! Incredibly kind staff! They make all the baked good from scratch, coffee whiz Jay makes a pretty cappuccino, and Mik yung (unsure of spelling) is sweet as canbe. Their breakfast are amazing. The omelette is my meal of choice, comes with two pieces of toast, large omelette loaded with goods and fresh fruit! I love this cafe! read more
