Rudest people (staff and Manager) I've ever met and they are all in the Key Biscayne Winn- Dixie! I'm 64 yrs old and have never been treated so rudely by so many workers. First it was the Deli woman (gave me wrong product and wrong weight) but was excellent at being rude. Then cashier made me enter phone 3 times, put the palm of her hand in my face (stop) when swiping my credit card then supervisor gave me attitude and I had no idea what any of them were saying. NOBODY understands or speaks English and Manager Rudolfo was the rudest of them all. I am from the Northeast and this store would be closed in a flash. This is about the online delivery service, not this store. I decided to try Winn-Dixies' delivery .The order was incomplete and lowered my total so I did not receive the $20 discount. I ordered 2 lbs. of tomatoes and got 14 large vine ripe tomatoes. No deli items and a mixed fulfillment of my produce order. There is no one to call over the weekend and when I called online delivery today, Monday, there was a 25 minute phone wait ! I had to lug 3 bags of groceries back to my store for a refund. So, this is my local supermarket and it's the only one on Key Biscayne. It's not that it's awful, it's just that it could be so much better. Yes, I understand the pandemic is still playing havoc with supply chains, and so there's a reason that say, fresh spinach might be out of stock for two weeks at a time. --PRODUCE is surprisingly limited and if I may say, boring. Don't ever look for something like Broccoli Rabe. It would be nice to see some variety in staples like tomatoes and fruit from time to time. --DELI also limited and predictable. There are so many fantastic dishes in our multicultural city -- how about showcasing them --ETHNIC food tracks the demographics, and that makes sense. But can asian and Italian offerings be expanded, just a little? Sorry if this coming across as whining and I realize the place is small. But it would be nice to have a bit more variety. Winn-Dixie should be banished from KB and replaced by a competitor fit to serve this community. The staff is outright rude, lazy and incompetent. The manager doesn't give a damn, he's hiding in the toilet paper isle playing with his iPhone and listening to earbuds where nobody can see him. Most of the produce quality is poor, I've witnessed swarms of fruit flies and moldy onions. As a 3rd generation Key resident and bilingual American, the staff are regularly hostile and unaccommodating to English speaking non-Latin customers. I buy beer marked on sale, the illiterate cashier tells me it's not in sale (it was). I repeat my phone number correctly 3x, they say it's incorrect (it wasn't). I order 1 pound of meat, she gives me 0.33 pound of meat and smirks at me. They aren't stupid and neither am I. Apparently nothing changes in this Winn-Dixie. 8:21 on a Saturday night October 30, 2021. They closed all the lanes including self check out except for two lanes leaving customers standing in lines for no reason. It's absolutely ridiculous. I suggest ONLY coming to this Key Biscayne location for emergencies and little things. Do you shopping off island where you get better service and prices are more better. And don't waste your time going to the deli it's never been a good experience, five people back there acting as if you are a burden. Being in the service industry for 28 years myself as a manager and bartender I consider this unacceptable at all levels. You get better service at any other location off island. They just open a wine/dine room located at the entrance of the store. As for paying lanes, you have self check out, and another form person ringing you up. The managers of the store are very high opinionated about themselves, they do t say sorry when you need a price match because their system didn't ring it up correctly. Actually the opposite, they make you feel guilty for doing it. You always wait at least 10 minutes by their customer service to be seen. And check your receipts, because almost every time there is an item or two that's doesn't match the advertised price. read more

Hey it's just a Winn Dixie, clearly says so on the sign so just because you're in Paradise doesn't mean the Winn-Dixie is . but having said that this one's a cut above, clean, usually well stocked except for sale items late in the day but the deli? Forget it. ALWAYS busy doing something other than working the counter. Count on a long wait, frustrating service and don't go anywhere near the prosciutto. At least I think it's prosciutto I ordered prosciutto, it looks like prosciutto but it tastes like a dried shoe that washed up on the beach. BTW. Only large grocer on Key Biscayne and it is a bit small and gets crowded. Customers fighting over parking spots are more of a hassle than anything else though. Funny the parking garage has signs that say "Park at your own risk." No joke.... it is tight in there. Selections is somewhat limited but they have all the basics. I wish I could give you a negative rating, but I have to give you at least one star in order to post my comment.I just left your store, and I was in complete shock at the unsanitary and most disgusting conditions of your womens' restroom when I tried to take my 8-yr old daughter to your restroom. All three stalls were full of garbage/debris, waste in the toilets, on the toilets, on the floor. It was disgusting. I tried calling the store to speak to a manager while I was waiting by the restroom, But no one would answer the phone. I walked to the service desk and they called the manager on duty "Rodolfo", Who apparently is like Madonna and doesn't have a last name because no would would provide his last name. I walked Rodolfo to the women's bathroom so that he could see the conditions of the bathroom, he said that he was not aware of the conditions and I find this completely unacceptable. As a manager you should have regular check ups of your restrooms for the comfort of your employees and your customers. You do not have animals working at your supermarket nor do you have animals shopping from your supermarket no one should have to use the restroom under these conditions, especially people who work in your supermarket and are in contact with deli, and prepared foods. You would think that now especially during Covid times you would take careful measures to keep your facility clean. Now you know why shopping at Publix is a pleasure. read more

You are the only grocery store on the island, which is hardly fair considering the lack of variety and selection of products located within. It's such a random selection of items, that I often find it hard to get anything other than a quick lunch. Forget any lunch time grocery shopping... Your staff is not the most friendly or helpful, and all seem to have a different agenda than actually working. The deli line takes forever because the meats/cheeses are sliced as though it was the most tedious task in the world, with your employees taking their time with every step of the process. Ordering a sub is worse than the deli; today it actually took 25 minutes from the time I walked up, where I had to wait behind 1 person (who's sub was already half done) until the time I ordered and received mine. Really? I'm on a lunch break and can't spend the majority of it trying to just get lunch. I hate to say it, but it's true: I wish there was another grocery store on the island. I hope your Management can get it together, have more training for the employees, and do something about improving your reputation on this island. I mean, a little effort goes a long way. I can't believe the rude and incompetent excuse for a store manager, Mariano Rugama. He stands at the front of the store doing nothing. Then when asked for help, he refuses! I was going to buy two cases of a certain wine, but that loser wouldn't even get me two boxes to put them in. Didn't even try! The only reason this store is still running is because it is the only grocery store on Key Biscayne so we don't have a choice unless we want to go much further. Other than that, it is the most inconvenient grocery store. It is not normal that I find myself praying on my way there that they have basic vegetables and even basic herbs like basil. Here I am, with my mom trying to get out of here with our groceries. There are 2 cash registers open, about 10 people with carts in each line on a Sunday at around 11:30am. Why are there only 2 employees at the cash register on a day that I imagine is very popular to buy groceries considering most of us have the day off to run important errands like this? Let me first say, I don't live on the Key. I live in a world where Winn Dixies are the ugly step-sisters of the supermarket world: I save and save and save, but long for my darling Publix... even the crappy ones. Winn-Dixie on Key Biscayne is a treasure, not only do and I look forward to going there but I plan errands and appointments to put me on the Key so I can sneak in a trip. If you are budget-conscious and want a quality shopping experience, this is your store. The produce section is pretty terrific: a good variety of fruits and vegetables, and I've never had any issue with freshness. The organic produce section isn't as extensive as Publix and I can't get an Ambrosia apple, but by the time I've moved on to the aisles, I've already saved a bundle on Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals and other Winn-Dixie card savings. Actually, this is a running theme in the store: not as heavy on organic and specialty items as Publix, but YOU WILL SAVE on everything else. The aisles are clean and well-stocked, same goes for meats, dairy and the bakery. I always save a ton in the meat department, the sales are nothing short of fantastic! Unlike other posters, I find the staff overall quite helpful and friendly. The deli is a problem... sometimes, ok most of the time. There is a decent variety of meats and cheeses at good prices (and more sales!) but the counter is a terrible, I have to agree with some of the other reviews in this matter. If you have to wait (and you will anytime after 11AM) you will wait FOREVER. The staff is painfully slow and not at all interested. It's maddening, really, and so different from the rest of the store! I get myself worked up, abandon my deli order and stomp over to the sushi counter where my mood is immediately lifted (they rock!). And when the cafe is open and you can get service, they make a mean and cheap cafe con leche. Of course, when it's not open or I can't get anyone's attention, it's another big bummer. Check out is a good experience, I find the cashiers helpful and efficient and there's always a bagger with a friendly smile. This location also has a bunch of self-check out stations that I like. Of course, what I like most of all is to come: coupons spit out like it's Christmas: not only for specific products but $5 your next visit. I save so much using my Winn Dixie card (an average of $45, amazing), and now the card somehow provides a discount at Shell stations, although I'm not yet sure how that works. In conclusion, this Winn Dixie deserves its 4 stars in spite of its drawbacks (READ: DELI). It's a clean, solid all-purpose supermarket with excellent prices. I'll go to Fresh Market if I want gra$$fed beef. read more

One big star for customer service...they are very nice and somewhat well trained and even tho they try their best to communicate with you in Spanish at first after you make a point to speak English they finally succumb and the transaction of them taking the groceries to your car becomes even smother. Another star is for the neatness of the store (not common for this "cheaper" chain of super markets but hey! It's Key Biscayne!). I don't live in that island because I'm not a separatist...neither an elitist (lol)! But if I did I'd be ok with shopping there (since there's no other choice of grocery store in the island anyways). The variety is pretty weak and every thing in the bakery looked kind'a old and had a bad presentation. My final star is to make sure this place gets an "ok" rating from me. OK I don't eecr them to match Costco but one premium wine I just bought at Costco was $22 and at WD IT was $42. Come on twice the price ? Cheese is always a ripoff. One cheese, and name brand aged dutch is $14 and even at Whole Foods it's half that. Yesterday the whole ice cream case has soggy soft ice cream. The worst store on earth bar none. Employees will talk amongst themselves in Spanish while I'm standing right in front of them ready to checkout. The staff at the deli and hot food is slow as molasses. Slow motion would be a complement. The so called manager seems to just walk around doing nothing sporting a deer in the headlights expression. A few years ago when Winn-Dixie was going through bankruptcy proceedings I wished upon my lucky stars that the WD in Key Biscayne would close and a Publix would emerge. But no luck. WD is well aware that those of us that live and work in Key Biscayne are trapped to shop there. Whenever I leave the island to run errands I make it a point to do my grocery shopping at Publix or Whole Foods or Fresh in the Grove. Other then that I'll have to continue to shop at this WD. They have candies to chocolate to sodas to chicken wings. I think Key Biscayne gets what it deserves. It is an island full of rich, incredibly tasteless people. The quality of food is reflective of the people who are eating it. (As are the restaurants.) The selection of anything good is minimal or non existent. You would think that with all of the Latin Americans on the island there would be a good selection of Spanish olive oil. Not a chance. Any Sedano's in Miami has a better selection (of almost everything). But, thank god, there is a really good selection of tortillas, that is about it. read more

Let me start by saying that I don't like Winn-Dixie. This particular one is located on the second floor of a shopping center. AWKWARD. I only come here usually to get ice or a last minute item to take to the beach. This place is always awfully cold. The staff here like other people have reviewed are rude. It is cheaper to buy a 20 lb bag of ice that two 10 lb bags. They didn't have any 20 lb bags so I asked if they would give me two 10 lb bags for the price of the 20 lbs since they were out and I was told no and looked at like I was crazy. It turned into a big deal since they were so rude. When you first walk into this place you walk into the produce section and it always smells like rotting oranges. read more
