Well known bakery in Key Biscayne that specializes in pavlovas. Located on the 2nd floor of a shopping center I almost couldn't find it. It's a small little bakery that just proves the saying big things come in small packages. To start the staff is beyond friendly and attentive. I was greeted quickly and offered free samples which were delicious. I came to pick up a Strawberry Pavlova cake for a birthday but I couldn't wait so I ordered a small personal one for me. They also threw in a complimentary cuarto leche sample which was unexpected. Such a nice touch. The Pavlova was delicious. The perfect balance of sweet of the dulce de leche and the freshness of the Strawberries. The shop itself was extremely clean and minimalistic which I enjoyed. Stopped in hoping we could get a pavlova without having preordered and it was our lucky day! The shop is small but everything looks so delicious. We were given a couple of samples and loved them. All I can say is wow, the pavlova from this bakery is incredible. I got the Pavlova with Dulce de leche and strawberries, and it was like a dream. The meringue had some walnuts in it, the dulce de Leche was some of the best I've ever had in Miami, and the fresh fruit gave a nice tart and tangy flavor that cut through the sweetness. My guests couldn't get enough of this and we finished the whole thing in two days. This is a perfect dessert for celebrations and I highly highly recommend them. Stopped by this bakery because we were outdoor dining nearby and I saw numerous people walking by with boxes that had their label/logo. Located upstairs in the shopping center, this bakery is small but busy. Beautiful pastries, cakes and desserts line the shelves and refrigerated cases. A mix of both local/traditional and Peruvian delicacies are available and I opted for a gluten free option, Suspiro De Limeña, while my kids had the Pavlova. The suspiro was a bit rich for my tastes, but the passion fruit mousse sample I had was delicious so I'd probably opt for that next time. My kids and husband enjoyed the pavlova. Overall the presentation was great and the desserts were good, but I honestly felt the prices were a bit steep for what you get, specifically for the custard. I expect this is due to the fact that they are a speciality bakery, so I could understand a slight price increase relative to other bakeries. The employees were very friendly, and predominantly Spanish speaking. It did take me a little bit longer to tease out some options which were gluten-free given language barrier, as these are not labeled; part of the reason I opted for custard. Divine. Simply divine. I had had Piononos bookmarked forever, and well, I still haven't managed to go, but my dear friend, Sean M., brought me a slide of heaven in their well-known strawberry pavlova. Now I don't know anything about the location, but I do know that you can order online and I almost did so except I think having one of those strawberry pavlovas in my house will encourage gluttony. I mean, by the time the box came to me, a bit past half was already gone. I managed to get around half of what was in the box and I struggled hard to not eat it all in one sitting. I can't recall the last time I had such fresh strawberries. Whomever they get these from, I want to know. I love strawberries as they're my absolute favorite. These strawberries are accompanied by a flaky crust and layers of dulce de leche cream. Absolutely scrumptious. The entire dessert is light and airy, and well, I now understand the hype. Recently, I was invited to dinner at @Magda L.'s place and thought this light & fruity concoction would be a perfect ending to the seafood feast she was cooking up. While the website ordering may be a bit clunky, the service once you arrive to for pick-up is wonderful! The lovely lady who attended me presented me with the stunning dessert so I could see it in all its magnificence before she boxed it up. She then offered my boyfriend & I samples of some bon-bons they had available & if that wasn't enough, we also received a slice of decadent chocolate cake as a gift! I was walking on air as I left yet this was nothing compared to the feeling I had when I took my first bite later that night of the iconic Pavlova. It was absolute PERFECTION!!!! From the ripe, thinly sliced strawberry topping, to the thin layer of dulce de leche & then the amazing walnut infused crisp, delicate merengue crust! Their pavlova is so delicious! Once you taste it you'll easily become addicted. You can get it with dulce de leche or Nutella. If ordering for a party, you only need to order one day ahead. I've also had their milhojas and it was pretty good too. They also offer carrot, coconut, and chocolate cakes. They have bite size cheesecakes. It's a tiny bakery...about 7 people can fit in it. I believe most people just come and pick up their sweets to take it to go. The staff? amazing! They were wonderful via phone and in person. They made the process of making my order via phone easy and smooth...I paid over the phone & only had to get there to pick up my order. They have a large parking space (parking is free). There is no dessert quite like Pavolova. What is pavolva? It's a meringue-based dessert so you've got kind of a crunchy but light meringue bottom, some dulce de leche and I honestly do not know what else topped with fresh fruit. It is absolutely delicious, and traditionally it is topped with strawberries. They typically also have other tropical fruit options like kiwi, mango (amazing), blueberries etc - but due to COVID-19 their operations have changed to only offer the traditional strawberry pavlova. Fine by me, it's outstanding. I am so happy that Piononos is still open -because they were able to make my friends birthday a delight. She has always wanted to try these, so I surprised her with a pavlova delivery. I know from first hand experience, once you try this treat you will forever crave this dessert. Their desserts are incredible one of the best that anyone can find around the downtown/brickell/key biscayne area but it is impossible to get in touch by phone (I'm not sure why they have one) they NEVER pick up even when I tried to call at 10 AM when they just opened. The debutantes mom's birthday is tomorrow, so the debutante wanted to order a special cake, something original and unique. So she found Piononos by word of mouth from someone who discovered this place on Instagram. She texted me the address, assuming I'm going to drive her to pick up the cake, but the minute I saw the address I got pissed off. I've told her time and time again not to ask me to drive to Miami, I'll only go down there for emergency or if it's absolutely necessary. But when I looked at the address again I saw that it was in Key Biscayne, which is like a hidden oasis within the wasteland. So I changed my mind and we did the drive to Key Biscayne. The retail section of this place is small, and because of the canary virus they're only letting in two at a time, When we arrived there was a line, and after we left there still was a line, but it moved quickly. This is actually a very popular local Peruvian bakery that started in a woman's Key Biscayne apartment 20 years ago. They have traditional cakes as well as some really unique ones like their signature Pavlova cake is made of walnut meringue with fillings of dulce de leche, whipped cream, and strawberries. Even though the debutante had ordered the Pavlova cake for same-day pick at 4:00pm, but we arrived at about 4:40, but the cake wasn't ready until about 10 minutes after we arrived. I could clearly see why it wasn't ready, this place is really business and they treat each cake as a masterpiece of art. To my initial dismay, the debutante bought me a mango mousse thingy, which when I tried it I found to be incredibly scrumptious! It was void of the sugary or artificial syrupy taste and just massaged my palate with the flavor of rich earthy mangoes. I was duly impressed. We haven't dug into the cake yet, as the birthday is tomorrow. But I can tell you this, on our way back driving to civilization all we could smell were fresh strawberries. I tried their pavlova at an office party, big, beautiful, decadent piece of melt-in-your-mouth merengue crust goodness, topped off with homemade caramel sauce (dulce de leche to be exact), then topped off with fresh slices of artfully arranged strawberries. Drove 1hr to get some and we tried calling an endless amount of times through the phone to make sure they had any in stock to save us the trip but no answer.
