    Spinach empanada
    Analucia B.

Everything about this place is great. I went around 7:30pm and so the empanadas were freshly made, which took about 10 minutes but definitely worth the short wait. Cute little store, no indoor seating. Inexpensive and very delicious! All empanadas are labeled so you'll always know what you're eating when you get a variety, no more guessing! Spinach 8/10 Is a creamy blend of spinach, melted cheese, and gently sautéed onions. The texture is spot on: the spinach is soft but not mushy, the cheese rich without being overpowering, and the onions add just the right hint of sweetness. Then there's the boiled egg--pleasantly unexpected! It doesn't make the empanada taste like egg but it definitely adds to the experience. Malbec 10/10 My favorite! Juicy meat empanada made with pieces of beef rather than ground beef. Extremely tender almost like a stew that just melts in your mouth. The pastry soaks up the seasoning and juices of the meat without it being soggy. Spicy beef 8/10 I can't handle too much spicy but I do tend to push my limits. The spicy beef really isn't too spicy but definitely has a kick to it. Nutella and brownie 10/10 If you like chocolate YOU WILL LOVE THESE! They are definitely filling but soooo good! So Chocolatey and gooey, definitely a must get!

Let me tell you, if you ever travel to Miami do you yourself a favor and stop by here! The Empanada's have a variety of flavors and fillings. I ordered a beef, chicken, sweet corn, pulled pork, and Oreo. That's right, they have dessert empanadas! I was skeptical about the Oreo flavor but it was surprisingly delicious! They're located in Key Biscane and the store itself doesn't have a seating area, just a heads up. The lady at the front was helpful and helped me pick the flavors. I wish we had a location in the DMV, maybe I can convince them to open one!

Love this empanada place!! It has become my go-to. They have such a nice selection of different flavors and what I love about them is that the outside part of the dough tells you which is which. The chicken has "chicken" written on the outside, the caprese has "caprese" written in the outside and so on (I'll attach a picture). The filling to dough ratio is good and I love that I haven't experienced an empty empanada. As for flavors, my favorite is the Malbec beef. It has nice chunks of beef, mushrooms, and sauce inside the empanada. Quite the opposite of a dry empanada I'm sure we've all experienced before. The spicy chicken and ham&cheese is also good, but there are many other flavors worth trying as well. The shop is very cute and the person out front is always nice.

I absolutely LOVE empanadas but a good and savory one is really hard to find...until now...! Location -- It's inside a small strip of businesses so it can be a bit hard to find. The location is clean and has a good visual appeal. One can see the kitchen with its staffers which is a plus. Jose took my order and he was not only friendly but helpful...truly a delight...! Downfall -- orders need to be done via "to go" since there's nowhere to sit. All the empanadas are packed with their own savory mouth-watering flavors, made with good quality ingredients and are a bit larger and have more filling than its average size counterparts. There's no mistaken what flavor one's getting since the flavor/name is "stamped" on the empanadas to avoid confusion. They're Simply delicious...! Average price about $3.50/$4.00. Empanadas Ordered -- *Ham and Cheese -- The ham was flavorful and hearty; the cheeses, Mozzarella - Provolone - Swiss, complemented the ham with its delicious gooey-ness *Spicy Chicken -- Simply delicious...!!! It reminded me of the chicken empanadas I used to eat from my abuela. The chicken was flavorful and abundant and it was richly spiced (not spicy as the name claims)...worth trying...! *Pepperoni and Cheese -- Just like eating a well-portioned slice of pizza just on an empanada. Rich tasting pepperoni and wonderfully melted mozzarella. *The Knife Cut Beef -- The diced onions and green peppers added a delicious delectable touch and one can taste the flavorful diced beef in every bite. *Nutella & Brownie -- Simply decadent and all sorts of savory and rich deliciousness *Guayaba & Cheese -- A great yumminess take on the pastelito All of these are great to have by themselves and easily shareable by the bunch...definitely worth the drive to Key Biscayne and I can't with for the Coral Gables location to open soon....! Bon appétit...!

Came here last minute during most recent trip to Biscayne. We found this place on our road to the state park. This may be the best empanada place we've ever tried. The service was quick; they already had multiple empanadas on display ready to go. The spicy beef empanada was my favorite. The guava cream empanada was delicious ! Highly recommend coming here.

This place has an amazing selection of empanadas. We ordered some savory ones that sounded good. For the most part, the empanadas were on the saltier side so it was hard to enjoy fully, but the diversity of empanadas was impressive!

    Kasey B.

The smallest, cutest empanadas I have ever seen. They had an overwhelming amount of flavor combinations to choose from too. Sweet or savory, there is sure to be at least a few you want to try! Since they are so small, indulging in a few doesn't even make you feel that guilty. Like a bakery, the empanadas in at least 15 different flavors are all displayed in the case. The other brilliant thing thing they do is brand the flavor name right on the empanada! Therefore, if you are like me and go crazy, you will still be able to keep track of which one you are trying from the first to the sixth (don't judge).

The empanada were very good! We tried the chicken, beef, 4 cheeses, and barbecue pork with mango. The empanada was a little salted. The service was okay. The price was about 4 dollars per empanada.

Friendly staff. Some of the best empanadas I've ever had. I had the spicy beef and spicy chicken empanada. They were stuffed with meat! You definitely get your money's worth. Clean shop, with tables to sit and enjoy just outside of the shop.

They are complaining that the Key Biscayne people who go to Flour and Weirdough's are taking all their parking places. Flour and Weirdough's has had to take out most of their tables to cut down on the weekend morning traffic. I say that Flour and Wierdough's is not that good. I would not eat there unless I lived close enough so that I would have an easy walk. If I have to get in my car to drive, I would rather drive to the better places in Key Biscayne. La Boulangerie Boul'Mich, Artisans and Nahuen are all attractive options. * * * Flour and Weirdough's combines two aspects. One is a cooked breakfast establishment offering relatively exotic hot egg dishes. Think of this as eggs around the world. I ordered a Turkish eggs, which was a layer of Turkish yogurt, two sunny side up eggs, four small slices of very good toast, and flavorings. Take away the toast and you are looking at meh. Given how good the carbs were and how flat the protein ingredients were, if I were to come back, I would be looking more seriously at something like pancakes. They do have a lot of pancake options. The second aspect is an orthodox bakery. The cinnamon roll is supposedly famous. I have had amazing cinnamon rolls in my home town of Austin. (The gimmick was darker flour and less sugar for a baritone savory experience. The cinnamon added complexity.) At Flour and Weirdough's you get the orthodox white bread, with a ton of white sugar. Less sticky than Cinnabon Lighter than Cinnabon. But the same concept. White bread and sugar don't get me all that excited. I am sure there was cinnamon in there - but I had to go looking for it. * * * Coffee was absolutely mediocre. Hey guys, you doing breakfast and a cup of joe? You gotta have a decent cup of joe. * * * I suspect if I had ordered from elsewhere in the bakery case, I could have done better. Some of the cookies looked pretty interesting. With enough trial and error, I could find dishes that were good enough so that I would be willing to jam up the neighbor's parking lot. * * * But why struggle to find an excuse to enter the civil war between Flour and Weirdough and its neighbors When I can go to competing brunch joints and get a million good dishes? No muss No fuss.

In a word everything. The decor is not awful itself, but feels a little industrial, with televisions plunked over the walls. But the service and the food just take it to a different level of bad. Our waitress hadn't the faintest clue to what she was doing. She asked how well done we wanted our carpaccio. She so clearly didn't know what she was doing, I had her recite our orders back to me. How could she mess that up? Good question. How about serving all of the food at one time, appetizers and main course? We had carpaccio, supposedly Argentine beef; a pancho; a filet mignon; and Milanezza Martin. Starting with the semi edible, the fillet was not good, the presentation was awful, stock dry on its own on a black plate, with mashed potatoes in a separate ramekin on the side, and the sad chimichurri sauce also in a separate ramekin, but you could swallow it. Everything else was a disgrace. The milanezza was junk they got out of the fridge and microwave before they planted it on the table. My daughter found it literally non-edible, and she is the kindest of diners. She said it tasted like the fridge... A kind way of putting it The pancho was a profoundly bland hot dog in a stale bun. But the "carpaccio" took pride of place. Simultaneously part-frozen and decaying beef, of which my daughter took a bite, and then was stuck finding a polite way to spit it into a napkin. North of inedible. All of this terrible food was put onto our table at one time, about three minutes after we ordered it, because obviously it had just been defrosted in the microwave. And to add insult to injury, the waitress came by, with a toothy, TGIF smile, and said how are we doing? Bloody awful is the only answer. In a move that clearly reflects where the restaurant is at, I noticed they put 19% automatically on the bill for "service". Then they had the cojones to ask for more of a tip when you sign electronically on the tableside device. I looked at the waitress incredulously with raised eyebrows, and that was that. Never again.
