I bought these when I went to Aldi's yesterday. I was like wow for $16.99 what a great deal. It brings about 4-5 clusters. I made a homemade sauce sat down to have dinner. As I'm cracking one of the legs open I notice the legs covered in these black sesame shaped dots. I panicked and looked it up and it says they are leech eggs. Not even 15 mins later I was in the bathroom puking my life away. Today I woke up feeling a lil nauseous. Let's see how I feel today. Don't recommend. I love aldis but this is the first time any of there food made me sick. read more

I just moved to Hialeah and didn't have an Aldi near me so I went in to check it out like 2 months ago. I came, I saw, I was leaving and on my way out the door, there were 2 Aldi female employees fighting with a male pulling a shopping cart. Apparently he was shoplifting and was walking out the door when these women came to get the merchandise back. It started a huge roucus because everyone was watching these women fight with a man over a shopping cart. Now customers are getting involved. I left the store with a "not so great" impression. I decided to give it a chance, I've gone back a couple times, my kids love it. Telling them we're going to Aldi is like telling them we're going to the park! Fast forward to today! My mom is in for the holidays and just as I didn't know what Aldi was, I took her. You wouldn't believe it but as I am telling her the story, the same thing happens again today. So this time, all the cashiers ram off their registers and into the parking lot to chase a shoplifter. All the customers in line are just standing there, wondering how long this is going to take! There was only ONE cashier working and everyone else was outside. As the 7 other employees fight for the shopping cart back, the one cashier just keeps ringing up customer, as she should. This lasted maybe 12- 14 minutes, again now customers are getting involved in the roucus with the shop lifter and the shopping cart. Finally, the employees come back inside and immediately start yelling at the one cashier who stayed inside that she needed to go outside and look at how much merchandise they stole and blah blah, just screaming at this lady, in front of all the customers in the store. What is Aldi's protocol for these types of situations and why are we not concerned for safety- employees and/or customers? This is disturbing and the fact that I've witnessed this twice in less than a 3 months time span is scary! Publix is a little bit more expensive but wayyy more safe! read more

I tried this place out a couple months ago because everyone always raves about how cheap their produce is...there's a reason. The grapes and watermelon I purchased didn't taste good. The watermelon was actually flavorless. The store has that cheap dollar store vibe. Also, you have to "rent" their carts & they don't give grocery bags. I definitely wasn't expecting to do full blown groceries here, but it's not even worth me returning just for produce. It lacks variety and quality. read more

I'm trying to show my abuela the new way of grocery shopping in a cool way. When I first came to an Aldi in the Miami area, I honestly didn't think it would venture out to Hialeah making it #GueloAccessible but I was surprised. My grandmother thought the crackers were weird but I promised her they were better and more "nítido" than the Rika crackers she's been eating for the past twenty years. Hialeah is quite a precise style of market but it's made some recent strides towards las cosas hipster and what's a better example of such than the cheese here. It's a great spot to fully use your reusable grocery totes with purpose as they sell plenty of the necessities that a fridge needs during its restocking. The household section always has the most random yet useful items worthy of your time. I'm glad Hialeah has a mildly hipster grocery store to shop at even though my abuela said que she thought it wasn't as lively as her neighborhood Hispanic grocery. This is one of those, it is what it is places. You can't walk in expecting Whole Foods gourmet, Publix service or Walmart variety and it doesn't pretend to be any of those places. It's a small market with off brand items at super low prices. It reminds me of the old Extra only without that overwhelming warehouse feeling. Just like any trip to the grocery store it takes some fore thought to save time. Grocery list, quarter and bags (try using the gazillion they give you at Walmart that you would most likely throw away). The sauces and dressings are delicious but stay away from the frozen foods. Trying something different at this place isn't the best idea. The fruits and veggies are fresh and cheap and the center aisle always offers some interesting low priced finds from patio decor to exercise gear but it changes often. Organization is key so come prepared and don't forget to return your cart to get that quarter back. ;) read more

So I've never even heard of this place and just noticed it so I wanted to check it out. The prices are fine. The meat, looked.. Well in simple words nasty. The veggies look beat up. It's just so ghetto :( what's happening to hialeah?? The place seemed pretty empty so I was excited to not have to deal with a line. Perhaps it's just a hialeah thing but oh my lord! These women are rude af! There was only 1 cashier, the 1st ones in line were these 2 chicks buying over 50 things. Then an older lady, then me, then 5 people behind me. They decided to open another line asking the lady in front of me & the rest to come in the same order. When we got there the cashier left and some other cashier had to attend us leaving the elder woman in front of me confused. They told us to come on in, some woman came out of nowhere standing to the side of me stabbing my arm with her groceries cause she wouldn't give me any fvcking space! I turned around to see the 1 behind me and this random woman in my personal space so I said in spanish yall need to give me space! I put my stuff on the belt and both of them were trying to throw their things next to my stuff. . The cashier told the elder woman she can't take the cart. No one assisted her which is rude! THEY DON'T GIVE YOU BAGS NEITHER! Then when it came my time to pay he said cash or debit NO CREDIT CARD ACCEPTED. A great grocery store to save money. Its not Publix, there are no marble counters and free cookies for the kids, but let me tell you: this place is as cheap as one of those little spanish grocery stores in the middle of the hood. There are no brand names in the store (maybe like 5 or 6) but they Aldi brand products have consistently been good for us. I wouldnt say its the kind of grocery store to buy all your stuff in, but lots of the basics can be bought here at about 1/3 less than any other chain grocery. In my opinion the quality is way above Winn-dixie. The best part for me is no coupons or looking for BOGO or discount cards or any nonsense. Yesterday 07/0920 at 11:52 I bought 1 baby back ribs, 2 two avocados and 1 Highlighter, and pay at the cashier with the employee named Doret, her name appears on the payment ticket, when in the afternoon I review the ticket, I saw that she had charged me 2 Highlighters, that cost me $ 1.99 but it is not for the money because that costs little, it is that having a person who cheats in a business for their benefit, that brings a bad reputation to the business and therefore The manager should pay more attention to his employees so this type of theft does not happen. read more

I absolutely love Aldi but I hate this store in particular. It's dirty the employees are always rude and if anyone speaks English there they can barely speak it. They automatically assume everyone speaks Spanish and they always start in Spanish. Most of the security locks on the shopping carts have been triggered making them impossible to push. I have emailed the company but they have elected to do nothing about it. I can understand an older Spanish person not knowing English but there is absolutely no reason a person can go through the American school system and not know how to speak English. I love this place, they promote recycling and awareness! You have to paid a quarter to use the shopping car ( what I think it's great because we help the workers who do that) this is a great option for everyone who loves being a good person! Great store. You get the same quality items with much lower prices. The chips, guacamole, cheeses, croissants, and produce are great. You can't beat their prices. They have many good and imported items from Germany which are really good. I highly recommend this store if you want to save money on groceries. Before you come to Aldi you need to leave your snobby attitude at Publix, I have been shopping at Aldi for the last 5 years (before relocating to Miami). It is not the one stop shop as Walmart or the fancy Publix but you are certainly save good money, do not forget your quarter for the shopping cart and bring your own bag!!! Great quality items but not much variety of brands since 95% of their items are Aldi's brand and they offer double guarantee that is not offered at any other place.... I have changed my review of Aldi because since the last time I reviewed it, Aldi has brought in many more items. They have a much wider of wild-caught seafood and some organic produce. They also make available some items for a brief period of time for a pretty good deal compared to elsewhere. I now come here for a wider variety of products that weren't or available previously. Reason for which I now feel that Aldi has moved upon rank. The cashiers are amongst the hardest working and diligent that I have EVER seen. They are so efficient that It's very obvious. I was really excited to be getting an Aldi here in hialeah, but after shopping here, my excitement has gone away. Yes, you have to pay .25¢ to use the cart. It's no big deal. It gets returned to you if you return the cart. At checkout you have to buy the bags. I got the large 10¢ ones. The cashier just scans and dumps all your things into the cart. You have to bag them on your own time. Some of the items I bought were hits and some were misses. Yes, some things are cheaper but the quality isn't the same on some as the regular products. Honestly, with all the specials at Winn Dixie or Walmart matching competitor ads, it's not that great. Yes, it's more work to do this than just shop in one place but if you really want to save $ it's worth it. Some of the items we bought and liked: Wine (essenza di vida), olives, bread, breakfast bars, shredded mozerella. And didn't like: coconut shrimp, chocolate milk, pizza, pita chips, garlic hummus (so so, but I wouldn't buy again), reduced fat feta cheese (no flavor) I still have a few things to try from my haul but the savings weren't grand enough for me to shop here. I didn't buy any meat. The prices were not that low and I didn't like how they looked. So yeah, I'm sticking to Walmart or Winn Dixie.....and yes I like going to Walmart. Just went to see the new place in Hialeah to see about their great savings and fresh foods. Well let's start with my welcoming all shopping carts you need a quarter to get a cart ( what about if you don't have any cash on you) their suggestion buy something get cash back and get a cart. I was blown away with that and to add real flavor the employees feedback to me "if you are only buying 1-2 items you don't need a cart anyways" I was really how about if I come in with the idea of maybe buying 1-2 items and see other items that catch my attention now what they rather lose the extra sale than just at least for customer service get them the quarter to make their purchase. Decided to still walk around to see what's there and they had some good prices no name items but they did have some deals. Grabbed a few items to at least not make the entire trip a waste. Now to pay just like the reviewer said no help to bag and no bags you have to purchase either paper o plastic another mind blowing not Even to help with the bagging they just throw it all in your cart and bag it yourself. Honestly I understand the whole overhead cost reduction and making some adjustments, but people customer service doesn't cost extra money and actually it may cost you sales that's all I am saying. read more

I really enjoy shopping here. They have a lot of natural and organic products. Not everything is natural, so you do have to look at the ingredient list to see if the ingredient list is clean. Many items are also much more inexpensive than the name brands sold in regular grocery stores. The food is not name brand, or at least most of it is not, but there are many items that taste exactly the same as their name brand counterpart. I love that they do not provide plastic bags but rather encourage you to bring your own reusable bags or buy paper bags. Much better for the environment! They do not have a vast variety of items so you probably won't be able to buy all of your groceries here. But it is a great grocery store for some food staples and you'll save a lot of money by buying at Aldi. I'll definitely continue to shop here! read more

I tried this for the first time and the food selection is terrible. Produce section is small. I don't mind paying the 6 cents per bag but I expect them to at least bag my groceries for me. Instead, they just drop all of your groceries back in your cart and push your cart away before you can even bag your own groceries. Very rude. I felt like I was cattle being hurded away. I will never go back there again and I hope this review stops people from making the same mistake I did. This is the type of store that has the feel of mom and pop. I have visited German before and I had gone to the aldi's there. The ones in the states are just like the ones here. Aldi is cheaper that regular competitors ( I bought a bag of oranges for $0.50). The problem people have with this store is that it has European customs . In Europe you pay have to buy your grocery bays, they do this to promote you to bring your own bags and help the environment. Cashiers are sitting and will not bag your produce, this in Europe is done due to time and speed. Over all the store is not bad and does have good products instead of having 40 brads of cereal they just have the 5 main ones. The store is good if you are looking to save and get decent quality of food. read more

I personally love going to Aldi and recommend it to everyone. I don't mind paying the quarter and returning the cart. What are usually do is grab boxes at the store to put my items in after I have checked out. I look forward to seeing the new ad each week and have to say frequently I'm disappointed as the key items are not available if you go in the afternoon. As for the language there's always at least one cashier or worker and a manager there that is bilingual. As I do not speak Spanish either. It is no different if you go into any other store on 49th St.. I am happy to have them in the neighborhood and would look forward to more stores possibly one in Doral. If you're ever unhappy with any product that you purchase just save your receipt and go back and they are happy to give you your money back. There is no such thing as the perfect grocery store with the perfect fruits and vegetables without paying top dollar. I have saved a lot of money by including it in my stores to shop at. I do believe that the workers work very hard there and I would guess they may not have enough help at times. I will definitely continue shopping there and highly recommending it to others.
