I had a very unpleasant experience at this store on October 5 with a cashier named Brenda T. From the beginning, Brenda was rude and did not greet me or speak to me when I spoke to her. When I requested cash back and there was no money available in the till, she became visibly upset. She started slamming the till and saying that she had already told everyone she didn't have money in it. However, she had not communicated that to me at all. The way she handled the situation was completely unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Customers should not be treated this way, and slamming the till in frustration is not appropriate behavior in a customer-facing position. I hope management addresses this situation because customers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. read more

My family has been coming to this location for years and have always been treated with nothing but respect and smiles; from first walking in to leaving. Never in all these years have I ever once had a bad experience nor had a negative thing to say to about this location , be it to family and friends.. until today. My daughter and I went in to do some light shopping, and as always, all registers were opening and quickly taking care of customers. Right away when it came time for us to get checked out, I already felt the negativity from the cashier, an elderly woman in a leopard blouse named Brenda T. (per receipt since there was no name tag). No greeting, no smile, didn't even look at us... just quickly scanned items and looked away waiting for us to pay.. still not a word mentioned. We mentioned if she could please ring up a bag of ice for us and apparently it must have been too much work for her because she let out a loud huff, rolled her eyes, and rung it up while my daughter ran over to grab the ice. Then I committed the apparent capital crime of asking for cash back. Once the til opened, this Brenda T. raised her voice at me almost screaming at me telling me she had said ' I done told you I have no cash!'. Of course, as mentioned, not a single word spoken by her at this point nor sign to indicate she couldn't do cash back. She then decided to cause a scene, screaming over her shoulder to another cashier to give her money. She stomped away to get my money. The gentleman who bagged our items rolled his eyes and apologized for her attitude, still wondering why this elderly woman is still allowed to work there, he said. Brenda T. came back, thrust the money in my hand and slammed closed the til without saying a word nor apologizing. Of course, I'm not going to lower myself to argue with this kind of low class behaviour, so I wished her and the bagging gentlemen a good day. I've always praised management there for running a great place full of warm smiles and great service but this individual is truly a sebacious boil marring Milam's impeccable reputation. As a customer for many years, I'll be second guessing my choice in grocery stores moving forward and I hope Milam's re-trains this individual. read more

Sadly I came here to leave a negative review over what I witnessed today 10/5/26. I already see the young man who was yelled at by the cashier already left his review before I did, so I'm just going to expound on it. YES, the older woman in the leopard print blouse did yell at him for no reason whatsoever and made a big scene out of a tiny issue she decided to blow out of proportion. Even after the young man and his daughter left, she kept talking about it under her breath. As far as I was concerned, not having money for cashback and assuming the customer can read minds is no reason to throw a hissy fit and alert the entire store about it. Whether you're having a bad day or not, this is no reason to take it out on customers. She too was not very pleasant nor friendly to me either which is something I've grown accustomed to at Milam's for years. I don't know if she's someone's mom who's a manager or what but Ms. Brenda T. needs to show some respect and may very well benefit from some anger management therapy. I've been shopping at Milam's since they opened in Pinecrest. Today I had a terrible experience that makes me not want to go back to this store. They advertised free eggs from the 11th to the 17th of this month. Today, Sunday the 14th, at 9:30 a.m., they didn't have any of the advertised eggs and didn't offer me a similar product. I found Milam's Market through Yelp. I was staying nearby for business and gave it a shot. I'm quite impressed with the variety and quality of the items they offer. They have a decent vegan prepared food section by the produce with local suppliers. The interior is nice and clean. You can find almost anything you want here. The wine aisles were quite impressive with an above average selection. The employees were friendly and helpful as well. A family-owned chain in Miami, Milam's Market has four locations. On this particular occasion, we headed to the one in Coconut Grove. It wasn't part of the original plan, but hey, no complaints. When we got there, a line had formed outside and we wondered whether to bother or not. Truly we only stopped by as we were in the area, and my boyfriend, upon learning that they sold SusiLicious Bakeshop merenguitos and that I hadn't ever tried any, pretty much decided we should go. It seemed the fates agreed with him as the line speedily cleared up. Upon going inside, too, we found duck fat, which we had nearly forgotten about, and well, we needed it for our duck confit. From this, we ended up making an unexpected grocery shopping trip, but it was a great call. Everything was ridiculously organized. We even found hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Also, I have to say I am impressed by their selection of keto-friendly and organic goods. There are a lot of products there that I would expect at Whole Foods but with much friendlier pricing. Honestly while not my preferred grocery chain, I do have to say that I found the venture there worth it and I will happily return when able. read more

For those unfamiliar, Milam's is a small Miami supermarket chain something like a cross between Publix and Fresh Market favoring the Fresh Market/Whole Foods vibe. They're very nice. And in my estimation, the best of them all. Was able to score an eclectic lunch here and had I been a bit more local, would have done a good bit of grocery shopping as well. Love Milam's! In a city without many family-run grocery stores, I am happy to support one like Milam's. They have a great selection of produce, grab and go options including many local and vegan-friendly items, as well as an awesome prepared foods section. I'll admit I usually stick to the perimeter when shopping here as sometimes they dry/pantry goods can be a little limited in my opinion. Their seafood department is great and during stone crab season I think they have some of the better deals. Last but not least an ode to their wine department. For being such a small store, they most definitely have a very large selection of wines. Local Coconut Grove resident here. Typically love grocery shopping at Milam's, but on December 4th I purchased a pound of the Argentinian red shrimp and was shocked to find a rotten shrimp in my bag. The smell was putrid and the rotten shrimp compromised the entire bag. Customer service only just refunded me, and did nothing more to try to remedy the situation. Very unfortunate experience! Update: I'm very impressed with how this situation was handled. I feel heard as a customer by being shown a level of care that is rare to come across in the food service industry. read more

Milam's is one of my favourite "gourmet" supermarket ever. They offer an impressive variety of items, great brands and the best: high quality . I love their prepared food specially the vegan section. So good to find great meal and that taste delicious. Fantastic family run chain-grocery store. This Coconut Grove is my go to location for several reasons: -Great food options. You don't find many of the brands at other stores. Their vegan premade meal section is fantastic. -Wine: They have a fantastic wine selection. I love Georgian wine, but no local liquor stores or grocery stores carry them. Milams does. They also have a liquor store next door. -Great Produce/Fresh food: Always some of the freshest produce and their whole roasted chickens (italian) are amazing -Great service: Never had a bad interaction with staff. Finally got a chance to visit this Coconut Grove location and was pleasantly surprised with how well organized and stocked their store was. Although smaller than Whole Foods, there were sufficient options for organic, locally grown and prepared goods. The layout of the store is nice and we constantly saw staff restocking and cleaning various areas. Prices are slightly higher than your average local supermarket, but they also seemed to run some sales which balanced it out. Their deli and baked goods sections seemed pretty popular and they also had what appeared to be a small coffee bar. All in all, Milams is a great option for your grocery needs and also helps support local businesses. They also seem to be pretty responsive to their customers' needs. There are reasons why some prefer to pay a little more in specialty stores such as Milam's. This is mine: Monday night at 7:30 I had a craving for a specific cracker. After searching endlessly I decided to ask Juan Fernandez for help- he knew exactly the item I was searching for. They were out, BUT his determination to please reinforced my loyalty to this store. He called Bird Road simultaneously sending a googled picture of the item for a quick response(they were out) - continued to do the same with the Pinecrest store. The chain of response within stores became a perfect domino effect . Impeccable, quick, and effective. Pinecrest had 7 units and even though I only wanted one bag I bought them all. Kevin at the Sunny Isles store helped me recently with a party. He was wonderful. The shrimp was delicious and the perfect size for my margarita style salt rimmed individual serving glasses. I also received rave reviews from my guests about the sushi which was gone before I had a chance to try one... next time I will double the size of the sushi. I used to shop at Milam's all the time in Miami and loved the superior quality of their produce and meat and seafood and a gourmet variety of food. I was thrilled when I moved back to Broward to find there's a Milam's in Sunny Isles which is very close. A superior store with superior customer service... I visit the Milam's on Bird Road and all of the staff in the deli don't speak one word of English. I've been at this establishment a dozen times, and when i visit the deli asking for a sandwich, they get me something else. Or they pour me a cup of soup when i try to explain to them a roast beef and Swiss cheese sub. Each time, I visit this establishment I have this same issue.
