Alright, here's my updated take. I'll start with the good, because there is some. The location of this Fresh Market is great. Parking is right in front, super easy, no stress. And when you first walk in, the place actually looks nice. It feels like it should be a solid shopping experience. But that feeling does not last long. I know there have been complaints about food temps and standards, and after going back, I can say this clearly. The problem is not the store itself, it is the people running it. That is where everything starts to fall apart. I went back Monday night, my second visit since that brutal local newspaper article. I had just finished a workout and wanted to grab a steak. Quick in and out. That was the plan. Instead, I walked up to the meat department and just stopped. It was rough. Not a little messy. I am talking straight up dirty, disorganized, and honestly kind of gross. Definitely not what you expect when you are about to buy something you plan to eat. What really gets me is this. One of the employees there also works at another nearby supermarket that is known for having high standards. So she knows what right looks like. This is not a training issue. It is a nobody is checking, nobody cares situation. And it shows. The rest of the store felt the same way. Dingy, a little grimy, just not taken care of. The nice layout cannot save it when everything else feels off. I ended up walking out. No steak, no patience left. It is frustrating because this place has potential. I've been to many Fresh Markets across a few states. This place looks like a Fresh Market but it doesn't run like a Fresh Market. I was staying at a hotel across the street and came over to grab some food from the deli. There were two guys working in the deli. One guy was ignoring everyone and walking around with a garden hose spraying off equipment. Weird. The other guy, also ignoring people, was walking around with a gazed look on his face like he just got released from a mental institution. I tried calling the store to order food and no one answered the phone. This was the strangest experience. read more

I must admit that I seldom come here as this is not part of my grocery circle. But my wife loves coming here as they have one of her favorite yogurts. Located near the Coconut Grove Marina this Fresh Market always has plenty of parking. They have an amazing selection of just about everything. And their presentation is always perfect. Just check out the pics I posted, they are fully stocked on just about everything. All super fresh. Sure it might be a dollar or two more than other places but you are in Coconut Grove and that should be expected. But overall the selection, freshness and presentation is outstanding and definitely worth checking out. read more

I don't know what has happened to the Coconut Grove Fresh market, but it's gone steadily downhill in the last 6 months especially. It used to be a gorgeous pristine store with super fresh food. Now there's rotten produce, empty shelves with old stickers stuck on them, the prepared foods look old and crusty. Over 35 neighbors have posted on Nextdoor with the same comments. I love shopping at the Fresh Market. They have excellent produce, bakery, prepared foods, imported foods, etc. They regularly have weekly specials that make many items a bargain. So, so, sad to leave this review. This store is right across the street from me and I will do anything not to shop there. The most unfriendly staff, especially the deli counter. They barely speak English, but I speak perfect spanish. After asking a simple question about a ready made item, the guy turned around and started saying in Spanish, "These people are so stupid...watch them get mad." Then proceeded to do something unrelated to my question wasting time. When I confronted them in Spanish, they said they didn't realize I spoke Spanish. Insulting and disrespectful. I love this supermarket bc it has fresh produce and feels boutique-ie. I hate their out of stock situation - it's a crap shoot. I can't think of another grocery store that's constantly out of stock on pantry basics like coffee, soy sauce, etc. And it turns out if you shop on a Sunday, "the lady does not work on Sundays, so we can't get a coffee refill". It is obvious that it is stored in non-refrigerated conditions at some point prior to putting in the shelf. My review went from 2 stars to 1 because I really wish I could give them zero stars ...The quality of this place is always going down to the floor Meat Department is super slow they should hire more people or have more people working at the time during very busy hours 10 people waiting because there's just one person handling the poultry/meat/seafood all at once Empty shelves or the products are most of the time expired on the shelves for days , I unfortunately bought one juice and started drinking it at the gym and found out it was expired (it was 1-2 days past expiration date) and I was so embarrassed of myself for not checking the expiration date ,u would assume a grocery store called the "fresh" market would have their products up to date I went to the store again the same day bc I had to buy more stuff and told them about said expired juices to the cashier attending me so that way they could notice and take out the bad expired products ... 2 days later a Friday afternoon I come again to the store guess what the juices are still there no one threw them out or anything , and they were still expired 3-4 days later at this point I had brought up this to their supervisor after she had to come help me at the register bc the Apple Pay wasn't working Their cashiers should be less rude if the Apple Pay is not working , it's not my fault the machine isn't working and you have to call a supervisor or someone that knows what to do to solve the situation... Just terrible ! Freshly squeezed orange juice 3 to 5 days old. Consistently over price compared with everyone. When you order from the prepared food section area. No one speaks English. Order a turkey sandwich and you will get a ham sandwich. And check out is a joke. Never enough cashiers. Slow or stop to speeds. There is large sign when you enter Fresh market Coconut grove advertising Southeast Asia foods assortment special. I looked through the store and asked store staff. I tend to visit The Fresh Market only during the fall season. Sad but true. Okay, so technically, it isn't fall yet, but I mostly went to buy items popular in that season. In other words, pumpkin everything. I'm a huge fan of their pumpkin nut bread which is unfortunately seasonal. Sometimes they have BOGOs for it, but this time around, they didn't. Oh well. Anyway, given my very specific shopping, it's clear this isn't an everyday grocery store for me. Frankly with its prices, it's a specialty store, and if you can accept it for what it is, it's a great place to shop. In my opinion, some of the top-notch items include: -Baked goods: Yes, you read right. The baked goods are delicious. They have cookies, nut breads, pies, you name it. I ended up going for pumpkin nut bread and bought chocolate chip cookies because they smelled so good. Guess what? They tasted good, too! -Prepared foods: For $7.99, you can get a Bistro meal. It includes an entree and two sides. I got one of these to avoid cooking and it was massive. Turns out I have a second meal out of it. Got some tasty chicken Florentine, a veggie salad, and some macaroni and cheese. -Drinks: Not just wine either! I've bought wine from them before, but I think the real winner is the apple cider. That and the variety of coffee they have is amazing. -Difficult-to-find ingredients: Garam masala. 'Nuff said. Except not really. Been looking for authentic Indian ingredients in basic grocery stores and no luck. Was thinking I would have to go to an Indian market, but I checked at this store and voilà - there was what I was seeking. -Cheese (albeit pricey), organic products, flowers, and even some greeting cards. Needless to say, this place has some wonderful buys if you're willing to pay and/or get a sale. Note this location has ample parking, and that when you pay, you can get your receipt e-mailed. The Coconut Grove location has a homey community feel. Customer service is good and plenty of selection. Generally speaking, prices are 20-30% more than Publix. We come mostly for the prepared foods. Their classic chicken salad is out of this world (and even more heavenly when the fresh croissants are included as part of their promotion). The other notables are the broccoli slaw as well as their supper veggie salad. It's not an every week grocery store for us - but certainly good for a small strategic run or for the yummalicious chicken salad. read more

Terrible service @ meat department. I've been going to this Fresh Market since it opened. Never an issue. Until today. Turns are per number on a red LED on the wall. There is a number wheel. But the numbers don't match because they don't use the LED. They call out the number instead. I've missed several watching instead of listening. Tonight, I asked him why. Upset, he said, "because there are few customers." He didn't like my Q. I explained I did not hear him call my # because I was where I could see but not hear. He got angry and raised his voice. He said, loud, "What? You can't hear?" From there and on, there was no de-escalation only instigation, and more shouting. The confrontation grew adversarial. And when the manager came - unbelievably - the offending employee contemptuously rejected his efforts to de-escalate. The manager became worried and said to him, "I will get fired if you do not stop and go away." He did. And the manager too. He just walked away while turning his back to us. We were shocked. So we left with empty hands. There was nothing else to do. The offender went to help another and the manager? We don't know. He just left. Issues: 1. Have a system customer can rely on for their turn, numbers on a screen, or numbers called by voice. 2. Teach conflict management. Don't raise voices at customers in spite. Don't argue with them. De-escalate, not instigate. Be respectful. 3. Hire managers with leadership backbone employees will respect. It was a tug-of-war between them two. 4. Rectify. Don't leave the customer alone. Don't retreat. This manager just left us there standing at the counter, looking at the same angry man that raised his voice not once but several as he defended his position. Fresh Market is better than that. It's a great market, but the meat department is a very unpleasant experience. We'll raise our cause up the ladder in hopes this will never happen again, to us or anyone. A mess. It was a mess, a terribly toxic experience. Truly terrible. I used to go to the fresh market because I really like the way people was very polite. They always greet you and it was a nice experience going there and pay a little extra, but it was worth it. Beware of the entrapment scheme at this store. If you shop here, and do anything else before you leave (such as stopping in the adjacent CVS), they will boot your car at a cost of $62. It does not matter if you purchased something from Fresh Market or not. They will boot your car. They are paying people to stand by the front door and watch you walk to your car. They are also riding around on golf carts. The store manager has a stack of business cards for the "parking lot owner", indicating this happens constantly, who he is happy to refer you to should this happen to you. The cards are for Tony Zamora at the Grove Harbour Marina, and you won't be able to actually speak to anyone. As a local, I'm surprised a store in the Grove would stoop this incredibly low, and absolutely will not shop at this store, or anywhere in the Regatta Harbor/Marina complex again. read more

Convenient location and we go every year when our family is in town for the annual Orange Bowl youth regatta. Always loved this store, it's a pleasure to shop there, and everything looks so tempting. When I come I always have a mini freebie coffee, where they allow their customers to have a sample coffee, which is a great little much needed coffee perk up for frazzled shoppers, and adds to the pleasant experience. Now this place is not the cheapest but everything is beautifully displayed. Gorgeous flowers when you enter the store, so pretty. Appealing looking good abounds. Plenty of choices. The meat and fresh fish stations offers a great variety and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Lastly a nice big parking area. Another reason I like it here is after you have shopped you can walk to see the Grove working marina where they park up all the boats (it's fun to watch) There is a side exit next to the store which you can find which gives you access there. I'm going to give them 2 stars because their fresh peanut butter. Being that we live so close we've tried several times to support but it's impossible. I went a month ago to buy cheese and when I got home it was full of mold. I then went again recently and the mozzarella cheese was rotten again as seen in my picture..Things are so overpriced here (I'm a chef) a bottle of Austin hope Cabernet which sells for $20 wholesale they are selling at $64 a bottle!!!! What type of margins are these. They're ripping off locals in every way possible. The flowers are also overpriced and not fresh. I just stopped at fresh market after coming from a doctors appointment really hungry and eager to go there and get something quality to eat. Well, I ordered a turkey burger which was hard as stone from the deli. It was ghostly white and very-hard, I would say it should not be sold and you should take that out of the deli. Then, my husband ordered a Panini which supposedly had smoked ham, Gruyere cheese, and fig preserves. You couldn't even see any cheese. I would say the deli does not have quality items cause these two particular items were horrible. We ate a bite in the car when suddenly I wanted to get off and get my money back, but we were eager to go home and did not do it. I would say take those items should not be sold. The Panini needs Gruyere cheese and fig not just two thick slices of ham with a little bit of a sweet dressing of some kind. I am not a happy camper right now!! read more

This is definitely an enjoyable grocery store, with wonderful service and so many different things like a sushi station, with one of the most fresh sushi I have tried, bakery, olives and antipasto buffet, here you can get a container and fill it out with the ones you like and they will charge you by the pound. They always have three types of coffee to try there too and if you like them you can get a cup of coffee right there for less than $1.5 Another thing we like about this Fresh Market is where you can make your own peanut or almond butter.
