Used to Be the Best Cafecito in Town... Now It's Gone I've been coming to the Café at the Publix on Bird Road and 78th Ave for years. Hands down, they served the best cafecito in Miami. My go-to was a cortadito, rich, strong, and perfectly balanced. I'd stop by every week without fail, sip my coffee, chat with the staff, and do a bit of shopping afterward. It was a comforting routine. Miami culture at its finest, tucked inside a grocery store. A few weeks ago, I walked in like usual and found the café closed. No warning. No explanation. Just gone. I'm genuinely disappointed. It wasn't just about the coffee. It was about the experience, the people, the familiar corner of comfort in the middle of my week. If management is reading this, please reconsider. You didn't just shut down a counter. You closed a little part of the community. Bring back the café. Miami needs it. read more

We experienced very poor service from Alyssa and her friend Alli yapping through out complaining about how customers come so late and order a lot of stuff, they were very rude and didnt pack our bags well, just rushing through. Its an ok grocery store a good variety of commodities. read more

I don't know which is worse, your cashier brushing her hair at the register while she waits for you to pay or the deli picking up trash off the floor and going back to slicing the cheese without even switching gloves. This review is for Publix store #44 located in the popular Tropicaire Shopping Center on SW 40th St at SR 826. This is the same shopping center as Target, American Signature Furniture, and Best Buy. When we visit Miami, this is one of two Publix stores we frequent. The other is a Publix Sabor a couple miles north on SW 24th St. (We've gone to that one more.) We visited Publix twice over Thanksgiving week to stock our fridge and cabinets at the villas with various food and snacks. We purchased bananas, tangerines, avocados, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, bagged salads, onions, dressing, deli meat, high-protein wraps, oatmeal, granola bars, milk, Snapea Crisps, cookies from the bakery, and more. Everything was good. The produce was fresh. My mom and niece really enjoyed the avocados and tomatoes (eaten raw), sweet potatoes (cooked), and oatmeal. My sister made delicious and healthy wraps to eat at home. My dad and I took the bananas and granola bars out on the golf course to refuel. I ate the tangerines after our rounds when we would get back or after meals. They were sweet, juicy, and refreshing. This is a big and spacious Publix store which was quite busy during our weeknight visit. Every department, including the deli and pharmacy, seemed to have its hands full (but not overwhelmed). The employees we encountered in produce and at checkout were helpful and polite. The store was clean and well stocked. It was easy to navigate and find what we needed and we were in and out in about 20-25 minutes. Parking wasn't an issue either. All in all, this is an A-OK Publix. read more

All of life, Publix has been a place known for excellent customer service and is supposed to be a place "where shopping is a pleasure". Unfortunately, that is never my experience at the deli here and I feel like I am constantly stressed and can no longer trust Publix. On Dec 24 at 4 pm I ordered 3 sandwiches for our annual out of state road trip. My family planned to leave at 7 pm to make our destination on time. Since I always plan things in advance, I decided to rely on Publix's long-time trusted online ordering at the deli and ordered 3 sandwiches. I arrived at Publix at 6:30 pm because I scheduled for the sandwiches to be ready at that time. I gave them a reasonable time to make these sandwiches. When I arrived, it seemed like the staff was annoyed that I was there and asked me if I needed something after I stood there for a few minutes. I explained that I did not see any of the sandwiches I had ordered online. They (two ladies) proceeded to tell me that they never received any orders and they were certain I had placed the order at another Publix. My phone had died so I couldn't prove it but I was certain I had ordered it at this location (see confirmation details in photo for proof). They argued with me for a while rather than begin working on these sandwiches. I didn't appreciate their lack for service and making it seem like I was wrong in-front of other customers. I understand that it was Christmas Eve and they close at 7 pm and were likely rushing to get home to their families but it was no excuse to brush me off and provide me with awful service. At that time, I never complained to the manager and thought the incident likely won't happen again. I also didn't want anyone to get into trouble on Christmas Eve. Today, I placed another order online for a 12:50 pm pick up, I decided to give them more time just in case so I showed up at around 1:15 pm. This time, I only saw one sandwich under my name on the order pick up rack which was entirely wrong. I had order 1.5 subs in total- one whole veggie(I'm vegetarian) and one half jerk turkey for my husband. We were headed out on another road trip so we were pressed on time. This time I didn't have the energy or time to complain to the FULLY staffed deli and decided to grab the incorrect sub and checked out. I didn't want to ruin my day and waste my energy. I will no longer return to this Publix and will take my business to Winn Dixie and Milan's instead. I'm so disheartened to see this level of service. I began to think about reasons why this continued to happen and I think that Publix should offer English classes to its deli members, I do not think they can read English which is why they continue to make these highly frustrating mistakes! read more

The fact that Target is its neighbor earned it an extra star. I like that it's tucked in the back corner of a very spread out shopping center with plenty of parking for those busy hours. The deli is small but at least the bread section is right next to it. Online ordering here is actually reliable which helps when you're in a rush. The produce section is so spread out that it might seem weird at first but once you maneuver around it, it will make sense. It's worth taking a look at all the BOGO's around the store because it's a great way of saving money on everyday items. There's plenty of variety throughout the aisles and if you need assistance- an employee is usually close by to help you out. Since it's right off the highway, it's very easy to access. read more

This is my favorite Publix store n Westchester. Mr. Navarro the store manager is always available and you can see him stocking shelves or working the produce, or any area needing his attention. He is kind and allowed my kids to sell their school fundraiser product one day. If there's a product you want and they don't have, just ask him he will try to get it. He also hires well because all the employees are so nice and attentive. Even the new ones are good. This store has my business die for a long time!! read more

I LOVE PUBLIX not only for all my groceries but I love grabbing a PubSub from the deli. The cupcakes from the bakery are delicious and the bread is made fresh daily! the pharmacy is great, I usually send all my medication to this pharmacy and even got my covid vaccine here. I gotta day I went there to order a simple cake for my kid's bday and the baker came to talk to me and she had me show her examples and told me what she could do and she wanted to make sure I got a good deal and a great looking cake. In an effort to shake up the usual routine of my weekly shopping trip, I visited this Publix on a Sunday evening since I was also doing a drive-up order at nearby Target. Wow! This has got to be one of the bigger Publix locations in the area. It is almost on par with the size of the stores in Broward, where everything is bigger and better. They have much more variety than my neighborhood Publix, and items that had been discontinued or no longer offered at my store were here (yay!). The employees are very friendly and helpful, and the produce guy even helped me pick brussels sprouts without asking. The only thing I will say is that no one was wiping down the carts and handing them to you, like they normally do at my Publix, and a lot of items (especially sale/BOGO items) were out of stock. But otherwise, I really enjoyed the spacious aisles and overall experience. All of the customers and employees were wearing masks and being civilized. read more

I'm fortunate to have three great Publix's by my house, but this one is always on point with their bakery selection. Cake by the slice is always an yummy treat and they never disappoint! I have to give a shout out to this Publix for their meat department, especially during the holidays. Publix has the lowest prices for trimmed "choice" grade beef tenderloin. It's a little known fact that their butchers will trim and tie up your tenderloin for roasting at NO EXTRA CHARGE, for $13.99 a pound. Most places charge $19.99, and for the lower select grade beef, for this service. My dinner came out perfect, and shopping was a pleasure! read more

This is my Publix! I have been shopping here since they open 15 or 16 years ago and I know almost everybody. I can see why people will get frustrated at the deli, they are always busy and if you don't pre-order just have some patience, this ladies work hard to complete orders and tend to customers at the same time. Most people that work there are extremely helpful, the store is always clean, food is fresh at the produce, refrigeration is well maintained throughout the store, isles are well distribute and lit and items are easy to find. The checkout and customer service are always quick to help so I really love MY Publix. read more

Normal everyday publix. However, if you're going to the deli make sure you call ahead and place your order so you don't have to deal with the ladies behind the counter. They are absolutely horrific and most of them only speak Spanish. Their customer service is absolutely awful. The store manager however is very nice and will gladly help you if you need anything. read more

I like this Publix a lot. Been coming here for years. Everyone is very nice and professional. Very clean and organized. Stocked well all the time. Prices at all Publixes are a lillte high for my taste but quality is unbeatable. You have to learn how to shop at Publix when they have their BOGO's. I do feel weird when asked for cash by kids at the door, but guess what? I did the dame thing when I was a kid. The pharmacy is outstanding. The deli, over priced with boreshead. This Publix is a good place to shop. What I don't understand is why the manager allows people to stand at the entrance and exit yelling and blocking access to the store while asking for donations to their baseball team,basketball team,football team etc. It is extremely annoying to have the entrance and exit blocked and be yelled at by kids and their parents asking for money for their kids extracurricular activities. This should not be allowed. I go to Publix to shop not to be harassed. Not to mention the crappy attitude from the staff when you ask for help. read more

This is my Publix where shopping is a pleasure unless you're going to the bakery then you're in for a big surprise not only are the bakers always in a bad mood there's always something more important then your order and the order you're making is always way too complicated for them to handle unfortunately I've had the unpleasant pleasure of ordering cakes at this Publix for my daughter's birthday and I swear every time it's the last time this time I just had enough not only was I almost not able to make an order because my phone number starts with a 954 but changing the color of a cake that I'm ordering for little girl was something that blew her mind she could not comprehend and had to ask for permission to see if this is something that could be done on an ordered custom cake I go to Publix about five times a week everyone else there is nice and pleasant but every time I have to do anything at the bakery I know that I'm going to get someone with a resting bitch face attitude and I just had enough. Although this Publix is located close to me, I would rather drive 10 miles out of the way. The employees are always nice but it is the slowest Publix in Miami. The deli always seems to have about 1 person at all times, the supervisor will pass by at least 10 times and won't help anyone even though there is a line wrapped around the deli. He will help you find any item in the store, he runs around working not just deligating. Bruce the cashier is very nice as are all other staff members.
