Wing Stop...where do I begin?
Their buffalo wings are divine. My favorites are their original hot and cajun flavors. Love, LOVE, love this business.
With that said, I highly recommend NEVER visiting this particular location.
WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. EVER.
Been here a few times now. Each experience was pretty poor, but the last one was what inspired this review.
We tried placing an order by phone first. We wanted to order ten original hot flavored wings because they are super delicious, and five chile-lime and five cajun because we'd never tried those flavors before and wanted to sample them. What we expected: "It sounds like you want to sample our different flavors...we have just the combo!" What we got instead: "NO. You can't order it like that". In fact, that seemed to be the only way she knew how to respond. "NO!"
So we thought we'd order using the iPhone app. We ordered twenty original hot buffalo wings and eight cajun (because chile-lime wasn't an option).
We walk up to the counter. There were three employees having a personal conversation, right at the counter, and not one of them acknowledged us for a good six minutes. I was actually impressed at the effort and collaboration they demonstrated in this feat. Never before have I witnessed three whole employees ignore a customer while all standing behind the same register. Bravo!
Eventually one of them asks us what we want, and we explain we ordered using the app and we added two drinks to the order. They have this awesome soda fountain. It's a shame, really. That it's at this location, that is.
So we got our drinks (some delicious orange-coca-cola and vanilla-root beer) and chill at a table while we wait for our order. Our order was estimated to be ready at 5:21 PM, but we started to get suspicious around 5:41 PM when no one had called our name, and the metal shelf upon which ye cooked food is placed became nearly filled to capacity. Could it be our food was placed there, and said register employees, tasked with calling names and handing over said foods, had merely forgotten what to do with their lives?
Pretty much. WE ACTUALLY HAD TO STAND IN LINE AGAIN TO ASK FOR OUR FOOD. I know customer service can be a rough gig, but this is probably one of the easiest roles you could land. And we were so much more courteous to them than they were to us. I mean, even if we expressed our displeasure, they could EASILY appease us with a free soda from their fountain from heaven. I wish my customer service job were so easy.
You'd think this story would be over. No. It's worse: they gave us NO ranch sauce. Hell hath no fury like this woman with no ranch sauce.
So, my fiancé, surely wanting to protect the Wing Stop employees from my wrath, politely asked for some ranch sauce. Because, who the HELL serves wings without ranch sauce. WHO?!?!?
The employee at the counter turned to him and said: "It does not come with ranch sauce". Twenty hot wings comes with NO ranch sauce.
He looked back at me worried and asked, "Do you want me to get in line again and order you some ranch sauce?"
NO. Not even for ranch sauce. There is only so much a person can take.
***DISCLAIMER***
I don't know if Wing Stop wings come with ranch or not. Maybe they don't. Which would be really stupid. But whatever. This particular location is still awful, and I think at a different location they would've been more helpful (you know, to let me know "hey, you gotta ask for the ranch!") and considerate. Or given us ranch for free, given we had to ask for our food TWICE. And under normal, decent human-being circumstances, I would've given them extra money for the ranch GLADLY. Hell, I'm tipping the next awesome Wing Stop employee I encounter handsomely and nominating that person for CEO. Because for working a fast food customer service job at a company that clearly doesn't set the bar high, they DESERVE IT. read more
