Thanks, Wings, for ruining our Super Bowl Sunday. Organized our friends several days in advance to put in a Wings order - we get our numbers and Venmo arranged, and call the restaurant. At the recommendation of the staff member on the phone at the Huntington Ave location, we place our order on Doordash and receive confirmation. Our contact also has the funds deducted from her card. Flash forward about a week later, when all of us are gathered for the game. We get the attached email at 6pm on Super Bowl Sunday that our order has been cancelled without notification or reason. On top of this, our contact won't be getting refunded for 3-5 days because of the shit management of this. When you are the party who does not meet their end of a bargain, you get your compensation in shape immediately. Wings, you seriously fucked up, either by your terrible management of a known food holiday or by your shoddy partnership with doordash. Get on the phone with all of the orders you screwed up - because I can only assume we are not the only ones - and make this right. read more

I ordered without realizing that restaurant did not deliver. I called and cancelled the order. Four hours went by and order was not cancelled and charges not reversed on paypay. I called back and I was told that it took seven to ten business days for account to be adjusted. I called back and spoke to GM Joshua Carrington who assured me that cancelling order merely required him to call Grubhub and have the charges reversed. I asked him to confirm transaction via e-mail. Hw told me that he would do that within thirty minutes. He also promised me at $20.00 credit. Seven hours have gone by. Charges have not been reversed and e-mail has not been received. read more

One word to describe my experience would be: soggy. Everything was soggy. Ordered through grubhub which may have been a factor but at least it came on time. The price is pretty fair for the amount. They were really nice taking my order and getting the food out. This was my first time here and I ordered the cajun bbq bone in wings with fries. The food came out within minutes. It was obvious that it was not made fresh and they just gave me leftover wings. The person at the counter said 10-15minuted but I got it in 2. The food seemed like it was just reheated. The cajun bbq sauce wasn't that good and fries are basic. If you are looking just to get wings this is an ok spot to grab it but not a place to recommend especially for a 15 price point for wings and fries. Two star service I feel compelled to give it an extra star because the wings are just so good. Honey mustard boneless, with bleu cheese sauce, is my jam. They also have cajun waffle fries which are always an absolute hit. There's such a dizzying array of options for sauce and I'll be honest, some are very hit and miss. The honey mustard is great and most of the bbq options are good. The mix bag section are where things get weird. I'm not a fan of the teriyaki (way too sweet) and the jerk chicken seasoning is terrible. The service here is atrocious, and I don't think I would ever be brave enough to get delivery here. The interior is reasonably clean, but they don't wipe down the tables enough or take out the trash often enough; combined with the basement location I don't think I'd ever actually eat in here. I've had orders messed up, been hung up on multiple times when ordering online, and GASP the ranch sauce being forgotten. The 1st time we tried this place, it was when my bf's friend from NJ came for a visit. The dude showed up in the middle of the nite n was like let's go get some boneless wings by Huntington Ave. In my mind i was like, "what are u nuts, going into town just for chix?" The previous time when i ordered the Hangar 2 (1-1/2lb chix + fries + drinks) i specifically said more of the Honey Mustard, (about a lb) n the Red Alert (1/2lb only)...n the fries, unseal so they stay crispy. I asked them about the fries n they say it should still be crispy..fine. Got home, fries were soggy n with the chix, got more hot ones than honey mustard ones. I really do not think it was 1-1/2lb total. I called back n the mgr, Doug was nice enough to hear my concerns. Offered me 5 off on our next order. Went back today. Orders 1-1/2lb our usual faves, 1lb Honey Mustard n only 1/2lb or less of Red Alert. I also ordered the same 2 flavors of 10 wings. The girl who took my order was very impatient when i tried to make sure they do not mess up my order this time around. Guess what? Of course they did. This time they got the flavors reverse. We got more of the hot ones. The 10 piece bone-in wings was 50/50. But i only got a stub of a joint on one of them. In actual, instead of 10, it was 9-1/3. Ripped off! I will check the order next time in premises. Also, the fries are way better when order separately n not a combo. They can keep the sodas. Quality is what we're after. The 4 stars all go out to the Chicken n its freshness! I don't even care at this point that their fries are good because by the time I get them, they're soggy! The delivery is so slow, and the service for pick up is even worse. I've never seen a business run this unprofessionally. On one occasion, I placed an order over the phone half an hour in advance and had to wait another half hour for it when I get there only to find out that it had been sitting there the entire time and the guy at the counter was just too lazy to read all the receipt tags. I'm always greeted rudely or crassly, my order is rarely correct, and the people that work there could clearly care less about their job. I've worked customer service when I didn't want to, I still managed to keep a happy face and be polite to the customers. Seriously, at least half of these people should be fired - they would've been let go at any other job. And the hygiene here? I'm impressed that I haven't gotten food poisoning. The wait time for the amount if volume they put out was pretty fast, as I only waiting 10-15 between at least 10 other orders. I don't understand all of the bad reviews this place has! I used to order from Wings Over Brookline all the time, and was so sad that they closed. Since then, I have been ordering from this location which stands up to the experiences I have had at the other. Wings Over is my go-to wings place, and honestly, I have never had a bad experience. I usually order the stratocruiser (2 lbs of boneless wings) and it's definitely a lot of food but perfect for me & my boyfriend to eat and have leftovers. With this size, you can pick up to 4 flavors, more or less depending on the size. I have tried the bone-in wings from here as well, and while they are also great, I love their boneless wings and tend to go for those instead. The boneless come by pound, while the bone-in come by piece. Our orders always include the red alert (3rd heat level of buffalo), with two or three others, from the dry rubs, BBQs, and other sauces. Definitely a big fan of Wings Over and will continue to order regularly! read more

I would say Wings Over Boston is meh in comparison to my fond memories of Wings Over Madison. We were craving wings during quarantine and ordered some takeout. Service was fine - patiently answered our questions and confirmed our order. We got our food and enjoyed it at home. The wings weren't stellar or anything special but good enough to satisfy some craving. I used to really like this place, but today I had the worst experience with customer service. On Grubhub, I had ordered wings with 1/2 Sweet Onion BBQ Sauce and 1/2 Honey Mustard. However, after taking the order back home with me, I noticed that they gave me 1/2 Sweet Onion BBQ and 1/2 Honey BBQ. I checked my Grubhub receipt to ensure that I did not put in the wrong order and verified it said Honey Mustard (which, as we all know, is a yellow sauce). The receipt that the store had printed out said HBBQ and SBBQ. I understand that the SBBQ must be the acronym for Sweet Onion BBQ, but HBBQ is clearly not the acronym for honey mustard. When I inquired about my order, Wings Over said that HBBQ is the same as Honey Mustard. I said that I've ordered the Honey Mustard from here before and it is definitely not the same as what they have given me. They INSISTED that I was wrong and that the two were the same. If HBBQ stood for Honey Mustard, then what would the acronym be for Honey BBQ? That made no sense to me. The word BBQ is not even in "Honey Mustard". I have never even seen red-colored honey mustard in my life. I eventually gave up because they clearly would not admit that they had given me the wrong item. I was extremely disappointed with the customer service today. I did not even ask that they fix the order or anything. If they had apologized for the mix-up I would have been perfectly fine. I use to love this place but things have gone downhill recently. I ordered the 3x in the last couple months to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but the foods been terrible recently. Chicken so hard it broke my plastic fork twice! No sauces or dressings, they even once gave me a roll of staples (yes, you read that right). Oh and my order was wrong multiple times. Ok, so once the Wings over in my town closed down, I didn't know if I would ever get to enjoy one of their delicious tenders and waffle fries again, but I recently moved just outside of Boston and was thrilled to find out that I have one 13 minutes from my home. I have gone in twice now and the manager, David has made both visits so nice and the food even made it the whole drive back and was still hot and delicious once I got home. I always get sauces on the side so that things aren't soggy by the time we get to them, and David was wonderful in suggesting how much I would need of each sauce for the amount of food we got. I told him how much I love their Blue Cheese and always get an extra little container to make a salad later in the week with the leftover chicken and when I got home, I saw he had thrown a couple extra in there for me! The place was PACKED even at 11pm and there were probably over 20 bags of food waiting on the shelves for UberEats and Grub Hub and whatnot to be picked up by the delivery people (Food delivery apps have really been a whole new monster for the last few years) but him and his team were calm, cool and kind to everyone. Never getting annoyed at questions and even waiting on 2 people who insisted on sampling what seemed like every single sauce available with a smile. I ordered a chicken sandwich. I was charged an extra $2 for adding ranch on it, even though the cup of ranch is half the price. I waited 35 minutes because the chicken "was being freshly prepared" even though I saw it sitting on the back counter. I got the sandwich, and it had chicken skin in it and was burnt. They didn't put any lettuce or tomato, and the lady scoffed when I asked for it. The fries were also torched, and crispier than potato chips. When my friend asked why the meal was taking 35 minutes to prepare, she then lectured my friend, saying she "has worked here a while" and that she "knows how long everything takes and that it isn't a quick meal to make". Overall terrible experience. Don't get a chicken sandwich at wings over. Stick to wings and tenders. read more
