We pulled into town two hours late and running behind. We needed to find food, fast, before everything shut down. Hermann shuts down quite a bit after 8pm. Right up the street from our Inn we discovered Wings A-Blazin'. It was a great spot. It has a "local" vibe and was quite comfortable inside. The staff was friendly and met us with smiles in spite of how busy they were. We ordered a large order of wings and a turkey club wrap with cheese fries. The food was up fast and we were ready to go. The wings are a bit different than I am used to. They fry them and them pour sauce over them in the container. It was different in a good way. It made for some "Russian Roulette" of sauce dispersion. My wife and I enjoyed it. The turkey club was wonderful and simple. Just what we wanted. The fries were covered in cheese, Provel, which was a victory. The meal hit the spot and left us wanting nothing. We will remember this place is open late and the next time we are in town we will revisit this little wing station. The good: provel cheese stix were amazing, the provel was so gooey and it was unique as I had never had provel cheese sticks before. The chicken wings were really crispy and there were several sauce and seasoning flavors for them. Good price point. The bad: doesn't have a full bar just beer and premixed drinks. We came here for lunch with the hubs and my 3 year old son. We started off with fried pickles. They were good but I felt as thought they had like an after taste or they used old oil. But my husband and son had no problem finishing off what I didn't care for. We ordered the wings. They were really crispy and had great flavor. I met a group of friends today at Wings A Blazin but I was terribly late because I had some obligations that I needed to take care (shouldn't really matter why I was late) but I was. Almost all of my group was paying their tabs but still drinking. So, I asked the waitress (who was super nice) if I could order a beer and some food to go. A few minutes later, I saw a man scolding her but wasn't sure why but it appeared that he wasn't happy about the table we were sitting at. As she returned with my beer, I asked her if everything was ok, she said he was mad that an order was being put in for me when he wanted the table cleared for a group that was waiting. When he walked by a few minutes later, I stopped him and told him I belong to the group that was already sitting here but I was just late coming in (just in case there was any confusion). He, then, scolded me in front of everyone that he didn't care that I was late and that it wasn't his problem that I was an hour late. He wasn't going to punish the people waiting because I decided to show up an hour late. I was dumbfounded and quite embarrassed from his complete rudeness and disregard on how he was talking to me. Of course we just left, after this. I was told later that he was the owner of the establishment. I've been to this restaurant quite a few times since I only live in the town next door to Hermann but I will never return to this place ever again nor will any of family. I do not have the power to change this man's personality nor how he thinks he can treat people but I do have the power as to where I can spend my money, which makes him money. He can own the establishment but if he treats his patrons with such nastiness, they will not return and if he doesn't care about how people are treated, then maybe, just maybe, he should really think about going into a new line of work. read more

Stopped here Monday evening since we heard the wings were great and they were open late. The wings were great! We got the hot and they had enough heat. Fries seemed to be hours old and had been refried. Service at first was quick and attentive. After drinks and food were served we did not see anyone until we were finished, no refills and it took forever to get our check. The place wasn't crowded either, maybe 3 or 4 tables seated. Also, the place reeked of grease. I could smell it from down the block. So all of that said, I would go back with friends for wings and beer only. My wife and I drive to Herman every few months just for this place! We have never been in an evening when it was full, so can't comment on the service then. We are treated great when every we come in. I have even been invited to the bar to taste all the beers. Great selection of beer, esp. Bat Creek brewery. Love the farmers daughter with my meal and have a Machine shed stout for desert. We eat wings weekly, and consider these the best restaurant wings we have found in the state. My wife get extra hot and I get afterburner. (Habanero based) There is one hotter sauce, ghost rider, made with ghost peppers. I always get some on the side to dip my fries. It is hot but sweet. I will not comment on those who choose "chicken lips" over the real thing. My wife is gluten free and has never had any negative effects from the wings or fries. This was the worst resturant I have eaten at. After waiting over an hour to be seated when we were told it was a 40 minute wait. After placing our order we waited over another hour to be served for simple wing menu items. Just Crazy!! What was crazy was that people seated after us received there food orders before ours. One of our orders was cold and had to be sent back. We attempted to voice our concerns with the manager and was meet with a cold uninterested person that never offered an apology. On a recent trip to Hermann, we decided to try this place for dinner. The owner must be an old pilot because there was airplane memorabilia everywhere, which was pretty neat. Unfortunately everything else about the experience was poor. The place was crowded, so it was extremely loud, but that was expected for a wings-type place. We ordered a plate of the fried pickles right when we sat down and then our main orders 10 minutes later. It took them close to 45 minutes to bring out our orders, and even then still didn't have the fried pickles. I had the mild buffalo/honey bbq chicken lips (boneless wings) which didn't taste like honey bbq at all -- they tasted like mediocre medium heat wings. They eventually did bring the pickles out, but only after we had finished out main orders. It took 15 minutes of waiting around for the check before we went up and paid at the bar. This place is the worst in Hermann. I made the mistake of giving them a second chance thinking the manager/host person was having a bad day the first time. He was incredibly rude BOTH TIMES. On the second visit my husband's had a 5 inch long piece of paper towel cooked in his burger. Ok, what was the paper towel used for???? The waitress who is a nice girl said the paper towels are next to the burger patty prep and that's probably what happened. Not acceptable but we felt better knowing someone hadn't used it to wipe his hands or butt. The manager/host aka, Mr. Rudeness comped us a beer...yeah you heard me, ONE beer. The last thing I expected to find on our random road trip to Hermann was the greatest wing/curly fry place ever. They mixed two sauces for us to make a hot honey bbq sauce for our chicken lips and I felt like licking the styrofoam lid, it was that good. We were in town visiting the local wineries and this place came recommended. I'd been here before years ago and I was pleasantly suprised to see that what I had previously enjoyed had only gotten better. Now on tap was beer from the Tin Mill Brewery (another Hermann fave of mine) and their wings are fantastic. The decorations are eclectic to say the least and it's a welcome change from the other dive bars in the city. My boyfriend and I split a large wing basket and side salads each and we were quite full.
