OMG this place is legit! They have the best ribs my husband and I have ever have, hands down. We also ordered the brisket sandwich and pulled pork nachos. The sandwich was really good with nice soft bread. The nachos were great but the chips were a little stale. I didn't mind it thought because the rest was so good. We also got corn casserole and beans. Both were really good. The service was very friendly and the prices were good. The ambiance is side of the road bbq place with indoor and outdoor seating. Waitress was so friendly but we had to ask for our waters and soda. Ordered the slab of ribs and they were not tender at all. Flavor was good, but they were tough, with a thick layer of fat that had not yet rendered. Potato salad was good, broccoli slaw was the best and the green beans were very good. This place does not want to serve anyone! I was in town from LA and stopped by Wednesday at 6:01pm they were supposed to open to 7pm. They told me they closed early at 6pm because it was slow. As I was leaving two other people were coming in and I told them the same story, they too was disappointed and left. I told them I'll be back tomorrow night. Tonight is "tomorrow night" and I called at 5pm telling them I was on the way to make sure they were open as they posted on 7. The voicemail picked up and said they closed early around 4pm. This place is expensive and obviously doesn't care about serving the community that wants to support them. Go elsewhere, someone else will take your money. read more

I've been coming here since the opened. The smell of bbq permeates the area and is quite enticing. My favorite has been the brisket sandwich, but the pulled pork, ribs, pork steak, smoked chicken noodle soup are right there as well. I like the walk up window option if you are not able to take a seat in the dining room. Give them a try if you are in the area, they are easy to find, just follow your nose! read more

We opted to eat in since we were heading back home from a weekend away. My husband is from Texas and is an absolute SNOB when it comes to bbq. We're talking full blown tantrum if it sucks. My 4 yr old loved his pulled pork and coleslaw, My pork steak was SO tender and flavorful without the bbq sauce but with the sauce was EVEN better. Better than okay but not great. Two Dudes BBQ is a solid three stars. It's quaint and divey like a really good BBQ place should be. The portions are generous and their pork steak is decent. The ribs aren't the best but the BBQ baked beans are top notch. The problem I have with Two Dudes is the amount smoke flavor in the meat is WAY too strong. It can be so intense that it tastes like you're chewing in charcoal or liking the ashes out of their pit. I'm all for a good smoking but not to the point that it takes over the meat and overpowers the rub or sauce. read more

My husband found Two Dudes on our drive through Missouri. The pork loin sandwich and brisket sandwiches were delicious. The corn casserole was the best and coleslaw was perfect because is was a light vinegar based. They served a mild and a spicy sauce, we preferred the spicy. The staff was very nice and gave us a rib for our dog which kept her occupied. There is indoor seating and a picnic table outside. As we were leaving, we saw the waitress deliver the pork steak to a table, wow, it looked amazing! If we are in the area again, we will definitely go back! My husband, son, and I each ordered pulled pork sandwiches with the potato salad, coleslaw, and cornbread dressing. We all thought the sandwiches were good but could have used more bbq sauce on them. The potato salad tasted store bought, the coleslaw was just okay, and the cornbread dressing was pretty good. What stood out for all of us was the unfriendliness of the waitress. She made the dining experience a poor one from the get go. In my opinion, she should look for another job if she's so unhappy in her current one. read more

Stopped in here at this "hole in the wall" bbq place while driving through Missouri between St Louis and Joplin. We were very pleased with the meals we ordered. The service was okay. We ordered the daily special appetizer of pulled pork nachos which were average compared to other places we've ordered them. I think a different cheese on them would have been better since we are not big fans of the liquid cheese. They could have used a little more pulled pork on it too. We probably won't order those again but are happy that we tried them. On the other hand, the smoked chicken wings (which were 4 huge full sized wings) and the ribs, we would DEFINITELY get again. The ribs were the tender, chew off the bone type like I love. If you're looking for the fall off the bone type, just keep that in mind. Of course each batch they make could be different. This was just our experience. They had 2 choices of bbq sauce with one of them being spicy which were both good. We'll definitely go back to this place if we're in the area. read more

Party of 2. We stopped in today around 12:30pm for lunch. Easy to find on the east side of Highway 47 near the intersection of 47 and Veterans' Memorial. Just follow the smell of smoke....yum. Walk up to the window to order "to go" or go inside to a small dining area. Nothing fancy but it doesn't need to be. After all, you're there for good eatin' bbq and that's what you'll get at Two Dudes BBQ. I had the pork steak sandwich with a side of coleslaw. It was a thick pork steak that filled up the bigger-than-average bun. The vinegar-based coleslaw was very tasty, as well. My husband had the brisket sandwich and cornbread casserole. He thought the brisket was a little dry - maybe over cooked- but otherwise, no complaints so this little joint earns 4 stars from both of us. We would definitely go back. Good for groups and kids, too, but keep in mind that it is a small place. read more

Really good barbecue. Two Dudes is housed in a shack on the side of Highway 47. You order outside at a window and can sit inside, in the shack. They serve big pieces of meat and cold beer. A guy I work with brought a pile of their food to a customer site a couple of months ago and it was amazing! So much so that I timed a trip to the area just right such that it included lunch at their actual location. The first thing you notice is that their address shows up about a mile south of their actual location. Dammit, Garmin, I don't want lunch at Casey's! Their physical address is correct in the listing but both the GPS on my iPhone and the Garmin on my dash agreed that I was off by about a mile when I actually found the place. Turn around, go back towards the interstate and you'll find them on the east side of the road across from the First Bank branch. Alternatively, you could roll down the window and let your nose guide you as their smoker is right out front and more than enough of an appetizer. Notes from the previous experience: the ribs stole the show! Beautiful smoke ring, great flavor, really, really meaty with the tips still attached; the pork steak looked like it belonged on one of those "how much can you shove in your pie hole" shows; pulled pork was tender and flavorful; sides were nothing to write home about. Today I had a pulled pork sandwich and their cornbread casserole. Added a diet Dr. and the total (with a generous tip) was a ten-spot. Very reasonable given the portion size and amazing flavor. One note: there was no appreciable difference in the flavor/quality/consistency/etc. between the carry-out that had an hour's holding time and what I ate at their location. read more

Decent small town barbecue. I had the lunch special of pulled pork nachos. Other places I've had barbecue nachos add baked beans so I requested my nachos with beans. Overall, exactly what I expected with one exception. The pulled pork didn't have much smoke. It was moist, but not smokey like I'd expect from a good barbecue house. Friendly service. This place is a dive, and I love it. It's just the kind of place that you would expect to have good barbecue. I had the porkloin sandwich and my fiancé had the brisket sandwich. The brisket was my favorite but the pork was good, too. I'd highly recommend the cornbread casserole. It was amazing. Honestly, I could have eaten three or more servings of that alone! It's right off the interstate, and a good stop if you are traveling and don't want fast food. The food did come quickly, however.
