Two and a half stars. Delivery time was a touch long, but there were good-sized wings. Mambo sauce was boring, but Bite Me had a decent kick; should've tried mango habanero, bourbon, or jalapeno lime. Fries were still kinda crispy since the sauced wings were isolated by a nest of foil. I'm intrigued by their fried cheese ravioli, southern fried chicken, chili cheese fries, and chicken pot pie, but a friend's food poisoning incident keeps me wary. read more

We ordered delivery to our hotel on our first night in DC. Boy oh boy... I had the meltdown burger and he had the wingos original burger. We made them combos so we could have fries and a drink. This is what I'll say, everything was great. We really could have split one order of fries between the two of us so I'll keep that in mind for next time. My meltdown burger was good. It needed something though.. like a sauce. His burger was amazing! Every time he bit into it, he moaned like it was the first time lol. I finally had to taste for myself and I could see why!! It was delicious. The sauce that comes on it was great! I was a little jealous. I also ordered the little funnel cake bite things with strawberry sauce. Could've did without those. They were ok but not great. Will Def be back when we go to DC read more

I ordered this thing called a 'wango tango' because it was a cheesecake, covered in a funnel cake and then deep-fried. Yessir. Someone actually thought to do something like that. I'm not sure what part of the process produced the effect, but the thing was pretty good. The cheesecake somehow got creamier and coupled with the crunchy, eggroll like cover, the textures were interesting. However, it took a long time to get to me. And the staff is, at best, neutral and maybe even a tad unprofessional. I know, I know, it's like penalizing an NYC street vendor for looking dirty, but still. Smile, man, life's not that bad. And the girl, I think, rolled her eyes when I asked her if she thought the wango tango was totally grando. Well, I didn't say it exactly like that, but you know what I mean. There is one table and two chairs and a bench right outside, so one could sit and enjoy their deep fried sweets. Also, they have this quirky thing where you can throw some beads that they provide into the tree branches above. Apparently, it's good luck. I guess. read more

This is about as good of a take-out wing experience as you can ask for in DC. The quality of the food is pretty great. The only discounting factors are that our food was a little cold and we were there early and had to wait for the order which didn't make a ton of sense. Also, while there are a ton of factors that make this place awesome, they weren't the best wings I've had. There are a lot of ways that this place wing place wins, parking is relatively easy on this part of O St, they give you a TON of options to make sure your wings are exactly how you like them, service was fast in our experience, it was cheap, and food was good. First, it's metered street parking on O Street and it's far enough off of M street that it was easier to park. We didn't have any trouble on a Sunday night during half time of the Redskins game. The seating outside is made of 3 small 2 seat tables, and there is no indoor seating. They have a small cash register area inside that's about the size of a closet and a walk-up order window. Our order was incredibly neatly packed which was awesome. I would feel comfortable picking up for a ton of people because of how nicely packaged everything was. Their website is pretty well designed. They have AWESOME ordering options. Focusing on wings first, you can choose all drumsticks, all flats, or a regular mix of the two and there is no difference in price. They also have boneless, but I don't know if they cost more. Next, you can choose if you want your wings extra crispy or regular, and choose if you'd like a regular amount of sauce, extra sauce, light sauce, or no sauce with no difference in price. They have a great variety of flavors and a ton of sides. We ordered a lot of wings for a group, we tried the hot, medium, mild, mango habanero, hot barbecue, and hot garlic wings. We tried both extra sauce and regular sauce combinations. The wings that had the regular sauce were dressed with a standard amount of sauce. The wings with extra sauce were swimming which would be great with fries. The sauces all in all were a few degrees milder than what you would get with the same name at Buffalo Wild Wings, with the same flavor, which I enjoyed. The barbeque sauce was Sweet Baby Ray's brand. We also tried the jalapeno poppers and the mozzarella sticks which were great standard fried bar food. Can't wait to go back. read more

Hands down the best wings I've had in DC in a long time. The lemon pepper wings were seasoned so well and cooked perfectly. I loved the seasoned fries. I also had a garden salad that was surprisingly green (no iceberg lettuce ) and full of flavor. The spicy chicken egg rolls were not spicy but were alright to kick things off. I enjoyed my food thoroughly. The downside was the wait; ordered my food at 8:00 and got it at 9:30. I asked for Minute Maid fruit punch but received Hawaiian Punch instead. I will return! read more

Such a tiny place but WOW awesome wings. They are good size, and we tried multiple flavors - all good!! The fries are always pretty scrumptious as well. Decent prices. The fried desserts taste just like fried desserts, which is always a good thing in my book. read more

So I have worked in the area for a bit and had to try this place out. I was feeling lunchy and couldn't go too far from work so I called up to place my order for a a Wingo's Wing Mini Pack (six piece). I was advised in 5 mins it would be ready. I walked to the location paid ($10- its Georgetown)in one teeny, tiny entrace and went out to the window next door to pick up my order. Easy as 1-2-3. After taking a pic, I partook in the vittles. The seasoned fries weren't truly seasoned (in my mind I thought salt, pepper, and season salt or old bay) they were fresh and seemed hand cut. Most importantly they were good. I got the mild buffalo wings. They were ok. They weren't slimy, so they were cooked. They did not pair well with the buttermilk ranch dipping sauce I selected. Overall the experience was ok---doable, if you will. Tip: It's a walk up so call ahead. For owners throw in some wetnaps/handwipes for after wing consumption. read more

I've only had Wingos delivery. The service is prompt and they're really really friendly, which is a plus (they actually park and come into my apartment building, unlike half the delivery services who make me come down). The boneless spicy wings are tasty and the fries are tasty junky pleasurable bits. I'm sure the weight gain is excessive for the Georgetown students that live by this place. read more

Wingos is THE place to go for wings for Georgetown students. However, I wasn't much of a fan until that is, I tried the parmesan garlic wings. These wings are heavenly; they're crunchy and drenched in a buttery sauce. I really couldn't get enough of them (I ended up stealing 4 or 5 of my friend's batch of 10). I'll be going to Wingos just for the parmesan garlic wings. I've tried the other types (spicy, golden, bbq, etc) and they just don't match up. However, I hear the chili cheese fries are a must as well. Get 10% off when you check in on Yelp! read more

A nice hole-in-the-wall tucked away in a back part of Georgetown. On the outside there were four tables for two people, and several seats up against the store. Inside it's real homely inside with no seats on the inside. They also have a bird feeder next to two of the tables, which was a little off-putting to me. I went with my girlfriend and while I got the fried chicken sandwich, she got an order of ten wings and the fried ravioli. The fried ravioli was great. Crunchy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, the fried ravioli were great. I really enjoyed my chicken sandwich as well. It comes with a choice of four sauces: mild, mrdium, hot, and mambo. I got the hot sauce and it was like a tastier version of Tabasco. The breading with nice and crispy with good seasoning. The chicken on the inside was juicy as well. The sandwich was pretty big and was satisfying. I didn't think it was worth it to get fries and a drink for an extra $3. My girlfriend was a little disappointed with her wings. Nice and crunchy on the outisde, but the meat on the smaller drumsticks were a little tough from being fried a little too long. Her lemon-pepper wings were a tad salty, but the mambo wing sauce was great. Think Asian zing from Buffalo Wild Wings, but less artificial. Overall I'd give it a solid 4 stars for my experience. I'd like to come back again for more delicious goodness like their fried cheesecake read more

Greasy Wings During my vacation to Washington D.C,I came here to eat after spending 20 mins to find parking. I ordered the Wingo Special for $12.99. My wings were just to greasy and did not contain enough sauce, a simple fix for most places I would have thought. I went to the cashier carryout window to ask for more sauce but the Asian guy with very strong accent told me ,I would have to pay for more sauce. I explained to him I just wanted more sauce he told me no !!! if I wanted more sauce I would have pay for it (in rude voice) . So I said forget just give me a refund I will not pay for nasty wings and a bad tude.. The manger working there give me a refund and another order of wings, he was very professional and you can tell he cared about giving good customer service .As a tourists i would not go to a place like this again because there are to many other places in the area with better food and customer service. read more

One truism comes to mind when eating chicken wings: the best flavors and seasonings cannot make up for low quality meat. Wingo's in Georgetown has some amazing flavors, but we ended up plucking off sizable bits of fat. When it comes to food, Ms. Classy and I are extremely compatible. Not to mean we love the same foods, but different parts of the same food. For example, I love the green and yellow Skittles, she loves the red and purple ones. When eating chicken wings, I love the drumettes and she loves the wingettes, and so on. At Wingo's, you can specify if you want wingettes or drumettes. Unfortunately, we chose the busiest 'wing' day of the year (Super Bowl Sunday) and due to the volume of orders, they couldn't provide that service. We ordered 30 wings: 10 garlic parmesan, 10 lemon pepper, and 10 barbecue. I called in my order before heading out because I was expecting a minimum of half an hour before they'd be ready, but the friendly order-taker said they'd be ready in 15 minutes so I threw down the phone and sped away. Was it good? Well, I'll break down the good, the bad, and the greasy: The Good: The Lemon Pepper wings were the best. The wings were crispy and the taste of the peppery spiciness and the citrus tang came through beautifully. Ms. Classy started with these wings, but quickly switched to the barbecue so she could save the best for last. I've had Lemon Pepper Wings at other joints, and they tasted like 'salty wings,' 'pepper wings,' or 'fried nothing' wings. This was a very good flavor to choose. The Bad: The quality of the chicken. When we opened the packages, I gasped with joy at the size of the drumettes. They were the most plump drumettes I've ever laid eyes upon. But bigger isn't necessarily better. A significant amount of the size came from fat and gristle. I had to tear sizable hunks off most pieces. Ms. Classy had to pluck pieces of fat from the wingettes, but none nearly the size of the gobs attached to the drumettes. The Greasy: If you expand the picture, you can see the pool of garlic butter at the bottom of the container of wings on the right side. The Garlic Parmesan Wings were literally bathing in garlic butter. No one can criticize these wings for lacking flavor, but expect a garlic punch in the mouth and be mindful of a dripping mixture of melted butter and chicken grease when removing the wings from the container. If you're into garlic buttery greasiness, you will love them. Will we go again? No. Though their prices are nice and cheap, we found the wings overly gristly and greasy. I know plenty of people who love fatty wings just fine, but it's not for us. -someone of the male gender who doesn't like to spend money on things read more

Mediocre wings and not a big variety of sauces. We took out wigs and walked to the waterfront to find a spot there. I got 10, half hot and half garlic and asked them to be wet. When I opened the box, I found the wings far from wet. There were no extra sauce and the wings tasted very mediocre. They were not either crispy nor wet. The garlic sauce didnt taste anything like garlic. The seasoned fries were meh and not seasoned. What I liked was the way they wrapped them in aluminum foil, so it kept hot. However, i'm not gonna go back again. read more

I usually have the half smoke whenever I visit but tonight I had a pork roast on my mind. I ordered the Mombo wings as an appetizer and they were off the bone sublime! But what was this? Why there was plenty of that fifth-dimensional sauce left and I had an idea! It went straight on my roast which is slow cooking as I write this review. This has been on my list to try for awhile and FINALLY I got to try it out. I was not disappointed. The spot is small so you literally come in and order right at the door. The staff was working really hard but no one ignored me despite how busy they were. It was Saturday night & they had a lot of deliveries. Since I already knew what I wanted I just glanced over the menu. Unfortunately I wasn't as hungry as I wanted to be because I had a big meal earlier, but I still ordered just 10 wings. I got Parmesan Garlic & Hot Garlic wings. They were so delicious. Fried to perfection & they didn't skimp on the sauce. I also order puff daddys which are like fried dough balls that came with powdered sugar. Those were good, a bit too much salt in the batter but maybe it was just that batch of batter. So... This is by far a staple in my book. Wingo's is definitely a college favorite, being situated just blocks away from Georgetown University. This place has a constant flow of traffic, and it's because the food is consistently good. I'm a regular on wednesdays when they run a half off special on the entire menu. My friend and I have been craving wings for weeks. We had planned to stop in Wingo's but since there was no seating, we kept putting off a visit. Then we found out that they have a great delivery area and decided to order a bunch of wings while working on a Sunday. It was one of the best professional decisions I have ever made. We ordered online, which was really easy. We got two personal orders ($10.99) of wings, which each included 10 wings. We choose to have BBQ Honey and Medium wings. Thanks to another reviewer, we found out that you can order all flats for the same price, which is the greatest thing ever!! The personal order also came with a ton of ranch or bleu cheese, and there was quite a bit of meat on each wing. I really enjoyed the medium wings. The flavor was great. The BBQ honey were very thick and rich, but I just like spicy wings better than BBQ. The delivery fee was only $3, the delivery took a little over an hour, and our driver was efficient even in the rain. We will totally order from here again soon. read more

Very friendly guy mike (i guess the owner) gave me a call when he knew that i was not satisfied with the first time i ordered from wingos. He credited me $20 to give it another try. Thanx Mike! No wonder the place is popular . I am so impressed by their courteous behavior. Stopped here on a search for boneless wings after the closure of Wings Over. Flavor was tasty and you got good value for your money, though the heat scale was a little on the mild side. I ordered the Honey Bar-B-Q, which granted didn't seem like it should be spicy, but was listed right below mango habanero... Limited seating outside the store, so probably best off ordering delivery or takeout if you're nearby, but a tasty spot to get your wing fix. read more

Nothing like dipping your fries in teriyaki wing sauce and ranch sauce before eating. Also don't leave without a wango tango for desert!

Mm mm good! We were in Georgetown on Black Friday and naturally worked up an appetite while shopping. Happened to stumble upon Wingo's and noticed that for what appeared to be a small business, there were a lot of patrons seemingly enjoying their food at curbside tables. After some quick Yelp investigation, we decided to give these wings a try. Boy, were we glad we did! The food came out very fast and fresh, and the wings were CRISPY! Nothing worse than wings that have gone soggy. We ordered 20 wings-- 10 honey hot and 10 Bourbon-- with a side of seasoned fries. Yum yum yum! The bourbon were definitely my fave. Super crispy and sticky and sweet, I could've eaten that sauce on a piece of cardboard, lol. The honey hot was also good, but with a thinner sauce, so the wings weren't as crispy as the bourbon. While we were outside eating, one of the workers came out and brought each table a sample of a new flavor of their wings! The sample had five wings! How generous! I'm not sure I've experienced that before. The best thing about this place besides the fast and great service was that it was AFFORDABLE! The 20 wings, fries, and two drinks only cost $27. You couldn't ask for that price at bland WingStop. Definitely will be back the next time I'm in the area for some of those delicious bourbon wings. read more

Wings were decent and burger was hefty. Fries were nice and hot. For fast food it was good. A few seats outside. Primarily carry out.

This place is really small, the inside only fits one person, so you have either sit outside or get it to go. We were able seat 10 people outside. We ordered lemon pepper, salt and pepper, Parmesan, mild, hot honey wings. We also ordered fries and cheese fries. The wangz were amazing, crispy and seasoned perfectly. The lemon pepper and salt and pepper tasted about the same. Parmesan wings had actual Parmesan on them, they added an unique texture to the wings. Mild wasn't actually spicy, it was more like barbecue sauce. The fries weren't very crispy when I ate it, but then again I ate them a while after they came out. The service was amazing, they helped us move and dry the tables and chairs. They gave us a generous amount of sauce and napkins. Also they played good music. Definitely check this place out if you want some big wangz read more

There're only a handful of things that drunk me likes as much as a good batch of wings. Rounding out the rest of the top five: affirming compliments, ice cold cucumber water, x-files reruns, and crispy fries. Gotta give it to Wingo's for solidly offering up at least two. After touching down at Reagan a little later than expected, grabbing dinner was pretty damn high on my list of DC Metro priorities. But sometimes catching up with good friends makes it a bit too easy to lose track of time... and sometimes you get really caught up in watching House Hunters International. Either way, with dinner plans wrecked and Wingo's down the street, grabbing wings was a no-brainer. We opted for two kinds of wings: mango habanero and Old Bay. The mango habanero was easily my favorite of the two. I would've loved a few more kicks of heat, but the mild spice married well with the sweet. I felt morally obligated to try the Old Bay wings, being so close Maryland, but I was admittedly a little overwhelmed with the amount of seasoning used. I've come across some pretty generously dusted dry-rubs, but they have never compared to this. Almost too salty, I was a little let-down, but I'm POSITIVE that drunk me wouldn't mind them at all. Hell, if 'two-beers in' me was fine with it, drunk me would rave. We also grabbed a batch of seasoned fries that did not disappoint. Wingo's is a godsend to the inebriated palate. These are solid sober wings, and they can only get better after every shot of bottom-shelf liquor. This is the kind of food that even the classiest of Georgetown's residents can admit to craving. I can almost guarantee that John Kerry (he literally lives right down the street) has tried his hand at the fried fare here (don't quote me on that). And if they're good enough for his senatorial lips, they're probably good enough for yours. read more

Best wings I had since I been in town! And on top of that, you can choose to have all drummettes or wingettes! The only reason I gave em four stars and not five is cause I'm bitter that you can't eat there. Wings of that caliber should be enjoyed with haste! Anyways, funny story ... me and my then-fianceé ordered two Double Troubles (40 wings total) back in the summer and when we went to pick em up, the manager saw us and said he didn't know it was only two of us and asked us if we wanted him to bag em for us The Mrs. starts talking trash, on some "oh don't let the size fool ya, me and my baby can eat all them!" He didn't believe us (big mistake), and said that if we sat there and ate all 40, he'd give us either 10 more on the house or a free ice cream Forgive him Father, for he know not what he do. My face scrunched up in an evil grin like the Grinch, as I rubbed my hands together briskly and we took on his challenge. Thankfully I had starved myself for whatever reason that day, as me and her went tit for tat w/ the wings. She was finished at 11, at the time I believed I had 13 ... 26 to go, and my meter (for how full I become) was barely out of the red at this point We had pre-marital counseling to go to and I didn't want us to run TOO late, so I started going in ... fast forward to 40 mins later, he comes outside to see like 4 wings left. He grabbed my arm and shoulders on some "WHERE DOES IT GO?!" We laughed, I ate the other four and took victory poses in front of the store. Yesterday my friend and I stopped by for a quick bite to eat. It was almost 11 and they were one of the few places that were still open on a Wednesday night. They have TONS of wing options, wet and dry. I went with the old bay wings. While we were waiting, we were dancing along to the music they we playing. We looked very goofy and I wouldn't be surprised if they thought we were drunk, even though we didn't consume any alcohol. Some of the staff were bringing boxes to the store as we were dancing and they seemed to enjoy our craziness and one guy even joined in. We got our food and ate at one of the small tables they have out front. I loved the old bay wings. They were delicious. Cooked perfectly, they used good chicken, and the seasoning was good, although a little heavy. When we were leaving, a man who worked there, I'm assuming he was like a managerial person, gave my friend and me a free order of fries because they liked our dancing so much. That was a nice touch. Wingo's was one of my favorite places to get delivery from in college. I ordered it recently to see if I still liked it and was pleasantly surprised to find that they are every bit as good now as they were back then. They are one of the best places in the city for fried, late-night "junk food". I use the word "junk" only because most of the food is deep fried or slathered in sauce, but the ingredients are actually pretty high quality. Plus, the food is cooked and flavored well. Even though it's battered and fried, it never feels greasy or heavy. My roommate and I shared a delivery order of chicken tenders, mashed potatoes with gravy, jalapeno poppers, and mini corn dogs. The food was hot, delicious, and arrived right on schedule. Their chicken tenders are really good. The chicken is good quality and the batter is tasty with a delightfully crunchy texture. We also loved the corn dogs and the mashed potatoes. We were least impressed with the jalapeno poppers. The jalapenos were sort of pickled, so the whole thing was kind of sour. I don't eat a lot of jalapeno poppers, so maybe that's the way they're supposed to be? Anyway, all things considered, we highly enjoyed our fried feast and would order again! read more
