Hands down the best wings I've had in DC in a long time. The lemon pepper wings were seasoned so well and cooked perfectly. I loved the seasoned fries. I also had a garden salad that was surprisingly green (no iceberg lettuce ) and full of flavor. The spicy chicken egg rolls were not spicy but were alright to kick things off. I enjoyed my food thoroughly. The downside was the wait; ordered my food at 8:00 and got it at 9:30. I asked for Minute Maid fruit punch but received Hawaiian Punch instead. I will return! read more

Greasy Wings During my vacation to Washington D.C,I came here to eat after spending 20 mins to find parking. I ordered the Wingo Special for $12.99. My wings were just to greasy and did not contain enough sauce, a simple fix for most places I would have thought. I went to the cashier carryout window to ask for more sauce but the Asian guy with very strong accent told me ,I would have to pay for more sauce. I explained to him I just wanted more sauce he told me no !!! if I wanted more sauce I would have pay for it (in rude voice) . So I said forget just give me a refund I will not pay for nasty wings and a bad tude.. The manger working there give me a refund and another order of wings, he was very professional and you can tell he cared about giving good customer service .As a tourists i would not go to a place like this again because there are to many other places in the area with better food and customer service. read more

I usually have the half smoke whenever I visit but tonight I had a pork roast on my mind. I ordered the Mombo wings as an appetizer and they were off the bone sublime! But what was this? Why there was plenty of that fifth-dimensional sauce left and I had an idea! It went straight on my roast which is slow cooking as I write this review. BEST CHICKEN WINGS I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Seriously, this place is the BEST! They don't even have a restaurant. It's a carryout only place and SUPER casual. You place your order at the front, specifying the type of chicken, with bones or boneless, and the dipping sauce. I ordered the spicy garlic wings (10 of them), while my fiancé ordered the honey bbq (10 of them as well). We both ordered ranch sauce with it, but they honestly don't even need sauce - they're ambrosial on their own! HOLY COW (or chicken, rather). Each one of those chicken wings were absolutely divine. I ate every single last one, despite being very full! The spicy garlic was absolutely perfect. This place is conveniently located on Wisconsin Ave in Georgetown and I am jealous of everyone living near there. If I lived close by, I'd be getting Wingo's to go at least twice a week!! You place your order and either wait outside on a bench or you can walk around (generally takes around 10-15 minutes for your food to be ready). The cheesecake somehow got creamier and coupled with the crunchy, eggroll like cover, the textures were interesting. However, it took a long time to get to me. And the staff is, at best, neutral and maybe even a tad unprofessional. I know, I know, it's like penalizing an NYC street vendor for looking dirty, but still. Smile, man, life's not that bad. And the girl, I think, rolled her eyes when I asked her if she thought the wango tango was totally grando. Well, I didn't say it exactly like that, but you know what I mean. There is one table and two chairs and a bench right outside, so one could sit and enjoy their deep fried sweets. This is about as good of a take-out wing experience as you can ask for in DC. The quality of the food is pretty great. The only discounting factors are that our food was a little cold and we were there early and had to wait for the order which didn't make a ton of sense. Also, while there are a ton of factors that make this place awesome, they weren't the best wings I've had. There are a lot of ways that this place wing place wins, parking is relatively easy on this part of O St, they give you a TON of options to make sure your wings are exactly how you like them, service was fast in our experience, it was cheap, and food was good. First, it's metered street parking on O Street and it's far enough off of M street that it was easier to park. We didn't have any trouble on a Sunday night during half time of the Redskins game. The seating outside is made of 3 small 2 seat tables, and there is no indoor seating. They have a small cash register area inside that's about the size of a closet and a walk-up order window. Our order was incredibly neatly packed which was awesome. I would feel comfortable picking up for a ton of people because of how nicely packaged everything was. Their website is pretty well designed. They have AWESOME ordering options. Focusing on wings first, you can choose all drumsticks, all flats, or a regular mix of the two and there is no difference in price. They also have boneless, but I don't know if they cost more. Next, you can choose if you want your wings extra crispy or regular, and choose if you'd like a regular amount of sauce, extra sauce, light sauce, or no sauce with no difference in price. They have a great variety of flavors and a ton of sides. We ordered a lot of wings for a group, we tried the hot, medium, mild, mango habanero, hot barbecue, and hot garlic wings. We tried both extra sauce and regular sauce combinations. The wings that had the regular sauce were dressed with a standard amount of sauce. The wings with extra sauce were swimming which would be great with fries. The sauces all in all were a few degrees milder than what you would get with the same name at Buffalo Wild Wings, with the same flavor, which I enjoyed. The barbeque sauce was Sweet Baby Ray's brand. I was feeling lunchy and couldn't go too far from work so I called up to place my order for a a Wingo's Wing Mini Pack (six piece). I was advised in 5 mins it would be ready. I walked to the location paid ($10- its Georgetown)in one teeny, tiny entrace and went out to the window next door to pick up my order. Easy as 1-2-3. After taking a pic, I partook in the vittles. The seasoned fries weren't truly seasoned (in my mind I thought salt, pepper, and season salt or old bay) they were fresh and seemed hand cut. Most importantly they were good. I got the mild buffalo wings. They were ok. They weren't slimy, so they were cooked. They did not pair well with the buttermilk ranch dipping sauce I selected. These wings are heavenly; they're crunchy and drenched in a buttery sauce. I really couldn't get enough of them (I ended up stealing 4 or 5 of my friend's batch of 10). I'll be going to Wingos just for the parmesan garlic wings. I've tried the other types (spicy, golden, bbq, etc) and they just don't match up. A nice hole-in-the-wall tucked away in a back part of Georgetown. On the outside there were four tables for two people, and several seats up against the store. Inside it's real homely inside with no seats on the inside. They also have a bird feeder next to two of the tables, which was a little off-putting to me. I went with my girlfriend and while I got the fried chicken sandwich, she got an order of ten wings and the fried ravioli. The fried ravioli was great. Crunchy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, the fried ravioli were great. I really enjoyed my chicken sandwich as well. It comes with a choice of four sauces: mild, mrdium, hot, and mambo. I got the hot sauce and it was like a tastier version of Tabasco. The breading with nice and crispy with good seasoning. The chicken on the inside was juicy as well. The sandwich was pretty big and was satisfying. I didn't think it was worth it to get fries and a drink for an extra $3. My girlfriend was a little disappointed with her wings. Nice and crunchy on the outisde, but the meat on the smaller drumsticks were a little tough from being fried a little too long. Her lemon-pepper wings were a tad salty, but the mambo wing sauce was great. Think Asian zing from Buffalo Wild Wings, but less artificial. Overall I'd give it a solid 4 stars for my experience. One truism comes to mind when eating chicken wings: the best flavors and seasonings cannot make up for low quality meat. Wingo's in Georgetown has some amazing flavors, but we ended up plucking off sizable bits of fat. When it comes to food, Ms. Classy and I are extremely compatible. Not to mean we love the same foods, but different parts of the same food. For example, I love the green and yellow Skittles, she loves the red and purple ones. When eating chicken wings, I love the drumettes and she loves the wingettes, and so on. At Wingo's, you can specify if you want wingettes or drumettes. Unfortunately, we chose the busiest 'wing' day of the year (Super Bowl Sunday) and due to the volume of orders, they couldn't provide that service. We ordered 30 wings: 10 garlic parmesan, 10 lemon pepper, and 10 barbecue. I called in my order before heading out because I was expecting a minimum of half an hour before they'd be ready, but the friendly order-taker said they'd be ready in 15 minutes so I threw down the phone and sped away. Was it good? Well, I'll break down the good, the bad, and the greasy: The Good: The Lemon Pepper wings were the best. The wings were crispy and the taste of the peppery spiciness and the citrus tang came through beautifully. Ms. Classy started with these wings, but quickly switched to the barbecue so she could save the best for last. I've had Lemon Pepper Wings at other joints, and they tasted like 'salty wings,' 'pepper wings,' or 'fried nothing' wings. This was a very good flavor to choose. The Bad: The quality of the chicken. When we opened the packages, I gasped with joy at the size of the drumettes. They were the most plump drumettes I've ever laid eyes upon. But bigger isn't necessarily better. A significant amount of the size came from fat and gristle. I had to tear sizable hunks off most pieces. Ms. Classy had to pluck pieces of fat from the wingettes, but none nearly the size of the gobs attached to the drumettes. The Greasy: If you expand the picture, you can see the pool of garlic butter at the bottom of the container of wings on the right side. The Garlic Parmesan Wings were literally bathing in garlic butter. No one can criticize these wings for lacking flavor, but expect a garlic punch in the mouth and be mindful of a dripping mixture of melted butter and chicken grease when removing the wings from the container. If you're into garlic buttery greasiness, you will love them. Will we go again? No. Though their prices are nice and cheap, we found the wings overly gristly and greasy. So... This is by far a staple in my book. Wingo's is definitely a college favorite, being situated just blocks away from Georgetown University. This place has a constant flow of traffic, and it's because the food is consistently good. I'm a regular on wednesdays when they run a half off special on the entire menu. (Tip: you need to check the website or facebook page in order to get the code word for the discount). Then we found out that they have a great delivery area and decided to order a bunch of wings while working on a Sunday. It was one of the best professional decisions I have ever made. We ordered online, which was really easy. We got two personal orders ($10.99) of wings, which each included 10 wings. We choose to have BBQ Honey and Medium wings. Thanks to another reviewer, we found out that you can order all flats for the same price, which is the greatest thing ever!! The personal order also came with a ton of ranch or bleu cheese, and there was quite a bit of meat on each wing. I really enjoyed the medium wings. The flavor was great. The BBQ honey were very thick and rich, but I just like spicy wings better than BBQ. Mm mm good! We were in Georgetown on Black Friday and naturally worked up an appetite while shopping. Happened to stumble upon Wingo's and noticed that for what appeared to be a small business, there were a lot of patrons seemingly enjoying their food at curbside tables. After some quick Yelp investigation, we decided to give these wings a try. Boy, were we glad we did! The food came out very fast and fresh, and the wings were CRISPY! Nothing worse than wings that have gone soggy. We ordered 20 wings-- 10 honey hot and 10 Bourbon-- with a side of seasoned fries. Yum yum yum! The bourbon were definitely my fave. Super crispy and sticky and sweet, I could've eaten that sauce on a piece of cardboard, lol. The honey hot was also good, but with a thinner sauce, so the wings weren't as crispy as the bourbon. While we were outside eating, one of the workers came out and brought each table a sample of a new flavor of their wings! The sample had five wings! How generous! I'm not sure I've experienced that before. The best thing about this place besides the fast and great service was that it was AFFORDABLE! The 20 wings, fries, and two drinks only cost $27. This place is really small, the inside only fits one person, so you have either sit outside or get it to go. We were able seat 10 people outside. We ordered lemon pepper, salt and pepper, Parmesan, mild, hot honey wings. We also ordered fries and cheese fries. The wangz were amazing, crispy and seasoned perfectly. The lemon pepper and salt and pepper tasted about the same. Parmesan wings had actual Parmesan on them, they added an unique texture to the wings. Mild wasn't actually spicy, it was more like barbecue sauce. The fries weren't very crispy when I ate it, but then again I ate them a while after they came out. The service was amazing, they helped us move and dry the tables and chairs. They gave us a generous amount of sauce and napkins. Also they played good music. We got two combo meals. I tried the naked chicken sandwich and hubby tried the 8 wing special. My sandwich was bland, as expected, and dry. Def wouldn't recommend swaying from their wings. If I could give 10 stars I would. This place is our go-to delivery place. Whenever we get home from a long trip we order Wingos for dinner when we return; it's like a warm hug! It's a great hidden spot!! They're wings are amazing. We got the boneless wings and buffalo chicken sandwich and both were so delicious. The place is a hole in the wall which makes it better. Seating outside is very limited but its ok because its worth staying and waiting for a seat to open up outside. Those batter dipped french fries. Diet? What diet... when french fries are as good as these a diet is frivolous. The wings? Amazing. The I got them salt and pepper with sauces on the side. I like my wings crispy and then dipped into the sauces. I got the mambo sauce and the hot sauce. The mambo sauce was out of this world. The hot sauce was pretty ordinary. Service? Wingo's was one of my favorite places to get delivery from in college. I ordered it recently to see if I still liked it and was pleasantly surprised to find that they are every bit as good now as they were back then. They are one of the best places in the city for fried, late-night "junk food". I use the word "junk" only because most of the food is deep fried or slathered in sauce, but the ingredients are actually pretty high quality. Plus, the food is cooked and flavored well. Even though it's battered and fried, it never feels greasy or heavy. My roommate and I shared a delivery order of chicken tenders, mashed potatoes with gravy, jalapeno poppers, and mini corn dogs. The food was hot, delicious, and arrived right on schedule. Their chicken tenders are really good. The chicken is good quality and the batter is tasty with a delightfully crunchy texture. We also loved the corn dogs and the mashed potatoes. We were least impressed with the jalapeno poppers. The jalapenos were sort of pickled, so the whole thing was kind of sour. I don't eat a lot of jalapeno poppers, so maybe that's the way they're supposed to be? Anyway, all things considered, we highly enjoyed our fried feast and would order again! read more

A small shack that serves delicious wings in Georgetown. No seating but Georgetown BID left a few tables/chairs outside on the sidewalk. If with friends, I usually go for the bucket (50 wings for $49). Boneless wings are sold for the same price and I always prefer boneless wings! They have many flavors among which my favorites are lemon pepper, garlic parmesan and salt &speller. I tried abusive among the very spicy flavors and although it was really spicy, I didn't feel like I needed a fire extinguisher. I would recommend this flavor for people who enjoy spicy food. read more
