This place perfectly exemplifies why I love Livermore. It's community oriented, welcoming, amazing food, comfortable atmosphere.

Definitely order the meatballs... make sure to get the focaccia bread to go with it so you can dip in the sauce. Great service great food read more

I got the yogurt and granola bowl and a cookie while hanging here for a couple hours. I was waiting for someone at a medical appointment and needed to work. This was the perfect place to hang. The yogurt bowl had fresh figs and was delicious. The chocolate chip cookie was gone before I got to the table. The staff here and super friendly. There were other folks here working and eating breakfast so it seems they've got a good thing going. read more

Great food and atmosphere, but I went here because of all the reviews that mentioned they have many gluten free items. They do not. They have on gluten free muffin, but do not offer gluten free substitutes for their bread. Don't go here expecting many options if you are gluten free. Their bacon and eggs were really good though. read more

My wife and I had a very sub par experience here. Long story short the food came out late (they must have forgot to put the order in) and was Luke warm at best by the time we got it. We reached out to management and were given a refund. Not a huge deal but what upset me is that my Wife left a review describing the experience and it was removed from Yelp. So this is a PSA that this business removes negative reviews, just keep that in mind as you are making your decisions. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! I had the sausage sandwich and it was one of the best ones I've ever had. But most importantly, we had Ember as our server and she was 20/10. I've never felt more taken care of at a restaurant than with her helping us. I will be asking for her shifts so we can have Ember. Next time you're driving through Livermore, you must stop at Wingen! read more

Service (5/5) I came here on a Saturday morning and the wait to order was about 10-15min. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Since I dined-in so one of the staff brought the pastries out to my table. Decor & Ambience (5/5) Love the interior design of this bakery from the pastry case to the tables. The place is well lit and clean. I also like the additional flowers and plants throughout the bakery. Plain croissant (4/5) Flaky and buttery - It's exactly what you want for a croissant! It has a rich nuttiness and buttery notes. The croissant is proofed into the perfect dome-shape and is baked into a nice golden dark brown color. If you cut it cross section, you can see a clear distinction of layers of buttery goodness. This croissant is on the bready side and not as light and airy as I would prefer though. The price ($5) is a bit more expensive than a typical plain croissant. If you are dinning at the bakery, highly recommend to ask for it warmed up! French onion bagel with cream cheese (5/5) I will definitely come back just for this! Bagels taste so much better when freshly baked! The bagel is soft and has a nice chew to it. The cheese and caramelized onion topping are a great flavor combo and the melted cheese gives a nice crunch to the bagel when toasted. There's a generous amount of cream cheese (almost too much but I am not complaining). read more

Wingen is located very close to where I work in Downtown Livermore. You order at the counter & they deliver it to your table. There's indoor & a shaded outdoor area w picnic benches to enjoy your meal. There's also a play area for kiddos indoors. I think they have the best bagels in town. (I hope they do a pumpkin one sometime!) Their open face veggie sandwich on a cheesy-everything bagel is my favorite thing they have! Yesterday I finally tried the infamous *patty melt* after my co-worker has raved about it for close to a year. In fact my party of 3 ALL ordered the patty melt. We all enjoyed it. I loved the caramelized onions and the bites w the seeds on the semolina bread. I would definitely order it again. It kinda reminded me of a French onion burger, it was good. But still my fave is the veggie! read more

If you are commuting from 205 to 680 during the morning rush, Wingen Bakery would be one of the best place to stop by midway for a light bite -- All of their egg-based sandwiches never go wrong. And another word, Bagel. read more

What a gem of a find in downtown Livermore. Located across from Uncle Yu's in the Flagpole area, Wingen, named for the owner operator and head baker, Amie Wingen, offer fresh baked breads, bagels, cakes, sandwiches and all sorts of treats. The coffee is outstanding. The ambiance is filled with people who create a great vibe and atmosphere. Small kids toys decorate the dining area and cool jazz is piped in for a really hip environment. Please come and eat their sourdough. So moist so soft but chewy at the same time. Drizzled with olive oil and topped with fresh avocado & heirloom tomato, every single bite is pure enjoyment. Warm service and the place is very spacious. The owners have their sad but encouraging story on their website. Will definitely support this local business. read more

The service is fabulous, everyone is in a good mood (or at least putting on their game face for customers!). It was our first time here so we had questions and the staff were patient and answered everything without making us feel rushed. We settled on an Americano with mocha, caramel latte (light on the caramel), blueberry pancakes and avocado toast. The drinks were perfect. I don't like super sweet drinks and my Americano with mocha was just right. Hubby loved his latte - I took a sip and you could taste the real caramel; not a sugary syrup!! The pancakes were cooked to perfection, the blueberries popped in our mouth and the pancakes weren't too fluffy or thin. The edges had a tiny crisp to them. I mean, they couldn't have been any better. The avocado toast was fabulous. The bread is sourdough heaven, and the sliced avocado (way better than mashed), and the seasoning brought it all together. We came from the east bay on the recommendation of a friend. We can't wait to come back! read more

Wow!! What an amazing local bakery. We found this place after a race at Del Valle Park. After hitting the trails we went hard on the pastries and baked goods. Everything is so fresh and beautifully created. Highlights would be the Rhubarb Pop Tart, perfect crust with little zing of rhubarb offset by the beautiful frosting. The croissants are to die for and remind me of Paris with their flaky crusts. We tried several sandwiches and the standout was the Turkey Avocado. The bakery is as beautiful as the food with a working kitchen just off the main dining area. Excellent food, service and a very chill vibe that makes you want to hang out with the staff and shoot the breeze. A special shoutout to Ewan for checking on our table often and making sure we were well taken care. I don't get this kind of service at a fine dining restaurant, let alone a local bakery! Hire more Ewans and make me about a dozen more of those chocolate Kouign-amans. So damn good. read more

My favorite bakery! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Need to come and try their dinners

I love love this place! I always get capuchino and it's so delicious. I also love their quiches. Crustless one is Gluten Free and it has seasonal veggies in it. I also tried this place for brunch, mimosa and sourdough English muffin with breakfast sausage was amazing! I wish I could buy sourdough English muffins from them just separate. They are amazing! read more

We've eaten here many times but decided to post today. The keys to a great sandwich are bread first, then the stuff. Wingen bread is amazing! The hoagie bread for the Botto was super tasty and just the right amount of crunch. You can't really see the amount of meat, but there was a lot! The veggies were dressed perfectly. Their pastrami is really delicious as well. We always get bagels, the roasted tomato one is yummy!! All their loafs of bread that we've tried are delicious. read more

It's really crazy how much we love Wingen Bakery. It all started with Aimee's sourdough bread during the pandemic, of course. Then they added incredible, legit NY-style bagels. Then came the croissants, so crunchy outside and layers of airy, buttery flakes inside. OMG. (drool) I'm now addicted to their avocado toast, open-faced lox bagels, and seasonal wonders like French onion soup and fried artichoke panzanella! But then, something new comes along, and it's always awesome, too. Basically, everything here is made with love and you can taste it in every bite. We've also enjoyed the special dinners at Wingen, where Aimee and Jacob of My Friend Fernando use the freshest, seasonal ingredients for creative dishes that are both surprising and unforgettable! read more

We went here for dinner and the quality of food is exceptional. We got baguette with smoked eggplant spread and it was perfect. The meatballs were also some of the best I've had and I almost always order the meatballs when they are on the menu. They were tender, light, and full of flavor. Meatballs are pretty technical to get right and these were solid. The pizzas were great too. Crust was crispy with airy crust good flavor. Toppings were fresh and had a good ratio in each bite. I wish this establishment longevity and success because some of livermore's food has been subpar but this place is a tier above. read more

The chicken salad sandwich is awesome! I got mine on sliced sourdough, which they were happy to accommodate. I'm not in the area too often but every few months when I get my hair done in Livermore I will try to make a stop here as it's one of my favorite places in the area. The first time I visited I had their turkey and avocado sandwich and couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm always a sucker for foods that with their simplicity let the quality of their ingredients shine and this bakery does that beautifully. This time I had their hot turkey sandwich on toasted French bread which was also very good. As you can tell from my picture, me and my sister scarfed down our food before I even remembered to take a picture...haha! They also have delicious pastries and are very kid friendly (they have a kitchen play set to occupy the little ones while you relax with some coffee). I didn't notice this initially but they have a variety of craft beer in their fridge as well. A few tips: French baguettes to-go are only available after 11a and get the herb cream cheese in a tub to bring home. You're welcome. read more

Breads, croissants, cookies...oh my belly and wallet are craving you all from Wingen! I started following them when they were featured at the Livermore Farmers Markets. The goods, the people, the hype, believe it all. There's love in everything they create. The dining room is homey and welcoming. The bathroom consistently clean. The best part though is the bird house that houses the changing table for the littlest Wingen fans to get changed during their visit. This small business deserves all the local and visiting business. *the review is for the service only* I love all the food especially bagels, baguette and most of the friendly staff except for the barista in particular. She tends to ignore me and stares at me without saying anything like asking if I need help. Obviously if I'm standing and waiting while looking at her to catch her attention. She doesn't create a welcoming vibe, at first I thought it was because she was busy but nope, this happened to me for the past 5+ visits aka I'm a regular. I don't know what her problem is but it's always awkward when she ignores me and then another staff helps only after standing there for awhile. Maybe her job is just to only make drinks but it doesn't hurt to acknowledge a customer and let them know someone will be right with them. Anyway this ruined my appetite. read more

Thank you Wingen for being here- you serve your community so well! Mario and Denise, your service is amazing! We have come here breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed!
