Wings. Soaked.
Jamie K.

I wish I could say anything good about this place. The only thing is that it's cute from outside. Everything was horrible. We ordered a beer and then waited over 15 minutes for our drinks. Once I realized that we didn't even have our drinks I looked for him and our server was at the bar cleaning glasses. I called him over and he realized he didn't bring the drinks, brought them and said they were on him. We had wings & a pizza. The wings overcooked on the top & were wet on the bottom (they were sitting, waiting to be given to us) and the pizza wasn't cooked through. The center was still doughy. I could not believe that this was food to be served. I wasn't going to bother with fixing my food since the issues with the drinks. The only reason for the second star was because he admitted to his mistake on the drinks.

Bourbon Pizza

This place was a great hidden gem! Never been here but definitely will be coming back. We had the Bourbon pizza, salt and vinegar fish fry and cavatali. Everything was really good! The portions were very big and two people could share one pizza! There was a good amount of parking near by and the inside looked small but had plenty of seating for us on a Friday evening.

Scallop and shrimp risotto

While staying at the Seneca we ventured out for dinner and enjoyed ourselves. We started with the garlic knots which were soft and perfectly garlicky. Melted in our mouths. I had the full serving of the risotto and it was more than enough food. I was stuffed by the time we left.

This is a great little restaurant. The food was great! Service was friendly and the food was out in just the right times.

Beware with this RACIST PLACE AND PEOPLE !!! OMG! I can't even believe places like this still on business. Shame on the owner and the employees who thinks they are better because of their nationality. My hubby and I came to Niagara falls for New Years. We were having fun till we came to this place. This time of the year ( winter time) everything is closed early or it's temporary closed because of the weather. I was looking for places to go and this restaurant was the first one on the list. We walked to the restaurant and when we arrived the staff of the restaurant look at us from head to toe. I told my husband, don't worry it's "fine , I look like Miss Universe, LOL". The bartender asked us if we wanted a table, we said yes please. Now the juicy details, the bartender said " oh, I don't know if we have tables available, let me ask " WOW!!! We are seeing 3 empty tables. My husband acknowledged the fact that 3 tables were empty, I told him " lets wait , maybe the tables are reserved ( deep inside me I knew they were not reserved, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt). When we asked for a table the Bartender told the waitress"please sanitized one table for them (us)" she Said she was busy because she was making a drink. We heard her but we looked the other way. 10 minutes went by and both of them served other tables and people seated on the bar but I guess we were invisible. After 15 minutes waiting, a couple walked into the restaurant and the "busy waitress" promptly was available to clean their table. The waitress immediately sat down the couple that just arrived. Omg! On that moment we walked away. Don't come here!!! Dont keep Patronizing establishments like this !! Don't waste your money or time here!

Bland French onion, overcooked salmon and a run of the mill Caesar salad
Erin G.

My friend and I were in town visiting Niagara Falls we saw the good reviews on yelp and figured we would give it a try for dinner, when I saw French onion soup on the menu I was excited. Once we arrived it took about ten minutes for someone to come take our drink order. I ordered the aviation, sooooo sweet, would not recommend. After about another 5ish minutes we received our waters. The waitress forgot my friends drink and had to ask a different waitress. Now the food. It took over 45 minutes to receive our soup and salad. The salad was your run of the mill Caesar and the French onion soup had visible seasonings in it but tasted like watered down beef broth. My friend and I shared the salmon with risotto. I know risotto is a tricky thing to cook but it seriously looked like scrambled eggs and was also bland. The salmon was over cooked. The best thing we had while here was the green beans. The side of green beans. How sad. They were cooked and seasoned well. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you have a couple hours to kill and maybe order something different. $62 for below average food and service. Yikes.

We met friends here, we have never been. We were only out for drinks but since we stayed a bit longer we decided to try one of their gluten free pizzas, I am not gluten free but my wife has to stay away so I was pleasantly surprised that I liked it! There are a few things I would like to try on their menu. The next time we are in the Falls we know where we are going to go!

A nice restaurant. It was a pity that we didn't have a chance to have their own-brewed beers because they were sold out. However, dishes like Pizza were pretty tasty.

Buffalo Wings

In town for work, not a lot of options, especially for a Monday night. Strolled down the main street in the city and found a lot of closed places or empty spots. This place had the most action going on for a Monday night. Popped in and sat at the bar. The patio was filled with people as it was a comfortable out, 70. The menu was pretty impressive and lots of wine options too. I went simple, Caesar salad, which was pretty good. Dressing wasn't creamy and tasted more like light Italian, which was fine with me. But don't except creamy, like most places. The opted for wings, they were good but nothing special. I ordered hot and got more of a mild taste. The menu had some variety and looking around a lot of people were getting pizza. Yea, pizza and wine! Hah who doesn't like that? Not a bad spot in a town with little options.

Went here for dinner. They have free two hour parking on Third street. Entering the place we were greeted immediately by smiling staff. There's a long bar with tables to the right, and a few tables at the back, where we sat. A nice decor with many wine bottles in cases and cool looking wooden flooring. There's also another dining room hidden past the restrooms that I guess they use for parties, or during more busier time periods. Our server, Stephanie, was really friendly and really went out of her way to make sure we were doing okay throughout the dining experience. She provided me with a sample of the Blackchery Cider beer, which I really enjoyed. We also ordered a glass of Prosecco which was also great tasting. For dinner, we ordered the Greek sampler plate and pizza. The Greek plate had lots of hummus, feta cheese, pita bread, stuffed grape leaves, olive, and tzaziki sauce. It was really tasty. I like how the pita bread was warm. The pizza had a nice thin crispy rust with high quality toppings...fresh pepper, sausage, and nice small sized pepperoni that curls up. Amazing flavor! We really enjoyed this place, and look forward to Coming back to try other menu items, including dessert!

This is my new favorite lunch restaurant! While it helped to have perfect weather on a private…read morepatio, the food was impeccable! DH told me later he was unsure about a seafood place in a strip mall (it's next to a branch of RBC), but this means there's lots of free and safe parking. Midweek lunch meant no reservation was necessary, even during high tourist season. Just inside the door is a list of the locations of the hundred or so purveyors of their oysters: It's impressive! We opted for small plates and a few side dishes. Everything was so well prepared! My oysters were plump, briny, and attractively plated on ice with lemon slices. A small bucket of jarred sauces rounded out the setting: Hot Jamaican, spicy mustard, Wostershire, and mignonette. On the platter was freshly grated horseradish, which had a five second delay before the heat kicked in! My husband had the lobster roll, which was crammed full of large pieces of lobster! It was the best we've ever had! We'll be back soon! Husb

Lovely little restaurant with a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Our server was super friendly and…read moreattentive, although the kitchen was a bit slow considering how few people were in the restaurant. We started with the scallops and pork belly appetizer, which was excellent. The scallop had a textbook-perfect sear, and the pork belly was beautifully cooked, with the fat rendered down so well that it didn't eat fatty or greasy. The whipped feta dip was also delicious, but unfortunately, the accompanying toast was slightly overdone, giving it a bitter aftertaste. They brought us a second serving of bread, which was so much better. I kept thinking to myself that I should have said something about the first batch because it really made a world of difference. For our entrées, the squid ink pasta was good, and the seafood tasted wonderfully fresh, although I would have preferred a brighter, fresher-tasting tomato sauce. The pan-seared pickerel was cooked perfectly, with beautifully crispy skin. Unfortunately, the accompaniments sounded much better on paper than they tasted on the plate. There were cheddar grits, a gumbo reduction, and andouille sausage, but honestly, you could have served me cauliflower mash instead of the grits, and I probably wouldn't have known the difference. I couldn't pick up any distinct flavors from the gumbo reduction or the andouille sausage. The only thing that really stood out was the charred corn. I'm not sure whether there were too many components competing with each other or simply not enough seasoning to bring out their individual flavors, but everything seemed to get lost. My biggest disappointment, however, was the drinks. We ordered the Fall Pear Collins and the Caesar, and while both tasted great, I expected a little more alcohol for what they were charging. I actually ended up ordering an additional shot of vodka to add to my Caesar because I could barely detect the alcohol in it, let alone feel a buzz. Overall, it was a pretty good meal with some genuinely excellent cooking, particularly the scallops, pork belly, and perfectly seared fish. A few tweaks to the seasoning, better attention to the details, and more generously poured cocktails would have made the experience that much better. There's definitely potential here, and despite a few misses, we still enjoyed our evening.

My friend -- a Christian, not even Jewish -- was meeting with a pastor for coffee. He was wearing an IDF jacket and a Star of David necklace while discussing a recent trip to Israel. No shouting. No confrontation. No disruption. Just coffee and conversation. An employee called Durham Regional Police. Officers showed up and told him his conversation was "offensive." When asked what was said that violated policy, no one could answer. No rule cited. No clear complaint identified. Just vague discomfort -- and removal. So what exactly triggered this escalation? Not behavior. Not threats. Not harassment. Symbols. And Israel. Calling the police on someone because others don't like what he's wearing or the country he's discussing is cowardly and discriminatory. Businesses don't get to selectively silence viewpoints they don't agree with. And weaponizing law enforcement to remove someone over perceived "offense" is an outrageous abuse of discretion. If Cork & Bean believes visible support for Israel warrants police involvement, they should say that publicly. If they don't, then they owe an immediate explanation and apology. Until management addresses this directly and transparently, this establishment does not deserve community support. Do better.

Loved trying this spot finally. Opened in July 2020, they serve imported wines from Europe (you can…read moreget their help with importing as well!). It's a small space with about 30 seats. Our reservation was at 6pm and we were the only ones for the first half hour - even still the group dining in was small so I felt safe! I went with two other people and we each had a flight of 3 wines, picked by the owner/sommelier Devon herself. Reds from Argentina and France and a white I unfortunately forget the region. We ordered the large charcuterie board to share and it was filled with unique imported items like a pumpkin curry pate, and peppers stuffed with cheese and tuna. It also had local cheeses which were amazing too. Paired with jelly's and toasted sour dough...it was the perfect shareable.

My party of four visited during Taste of Oakville, and in hindsight, the evening foreshadowed…read moreitself early -- the restaurant's website was down with a 404 error, and we kept finding two different addresses (one apparently their old location). We eventually found it. Upon arrival, the door swung open and struck a seated guest -- a sign of just how small the space is. The restaurant was full except for one four-top (clearly ours), and we stood awkwardly in the entrance -- which is essentially inside the dining room -- waiting to be acknowledged. When greeted, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said yes. "Table for eight?" we were asked, which felt impossible given the size of the room. We clarified four, and were pointed to the only open table. No name was requested; we realistically could have just walked in and taken it. The space is starkly lit with aggressive bright white lighting that feels more clinical than cozy. The artwork is interesting and gives a gallery-like feel -- it seems the restaurant is aiming for a downtown Toronto wine bar aesthetic, but it doesn't quite land. Our table was missing water glasses, and the stemware was mismatched -- not in an intentional, charming way, but more in a "we ran out" way. Once seated, we weren't acknowledged or offered water for nearly 20 minutes. Not rushing guests is one thing; leaving them feeling forgotten is another. When our server finally arrived, the service set the tone for the evening. One glass of water was poured before he realized another was missing. He disappeared, returned with a glass, inspected it mid-pour, then walked away again (dirty glass). After several more trips and long gaps, everyone eventually received water -- about 15 minutes later. He was polite and friendly, just clearly untrained. He shared that the owner is also the sommelier, cook, and server, and that he liked working there because he wasn't expected to know much about wine -- an interesting admission for a wine bar. The owner greeted us warmly but asked only one guest about wine preferences -- ironically the only non-wine drinker at the table. The concept appeared to be sommelier-led, though this was never explained. If that is the intention, engaging the entire table is essential. That said, the wines themselves were enjoyable; the service surrounding them was not. The Taste of Oakville menu promised three curated 3-oz pours paired with a charcuterie board for two. The pours arrived unevenly and slowly, with little explanation of the pairings. The charcuterie boards were plain and inconsistent between tables despite containing similar items -- basic fruit, crostini, simple cured meats, small portions of brie, and two slices of truffle cheese. No crackers, spreads, or thoughtful touches elevated the experience, and presentation varied noticeably. Our second wine pour didn't arrive until our mains, and service moved so slowly we requested a wine list to order a bottle. We were told there is no wine list -- "we're not that kind of restaurant." Instead, all reds are $80 and all whites $70, and the owner selects the bottle for you after asking only red or white. The concept might work if explained upfront; without context, it was confusing. At one point, noticing my empty glass, our server poured me a random red -- which turned out to be the same wine as our first pour -- and then left without serving anyone else. We had to remind staff we were still waiting for our second curated pour. Nothing about the experience felt curated. The most surprising moment of the night came when our mains arrived. As we lifted our appetizer plates -- still holding olive pits, fruit rinds, and crumbs -- the servers told us not to worry about clearing them and proceeded to place our main dishes directly on top of the used plates. I'm still shocked. I wouldn't do that at home, let alone expect it at a Lakeshore, or quite frankly, any restaurant. Two of us ordered the tagliatelle, which was tasty but contained only two small pieces of short rib -- and was difficult to enjoy while staring at discarded rinds beneath the plate. The other two ordered brisket sliders: two sliders, no sides. They tasted good but left diners hungry. One guest joked they kept thinking the fruit rinds were fries -- unfortunately accurate. We tried to make the best of the evening, but it never delivered the cozy wine-and-charcuterie experience we had anticipated -- dim lighting, thoughtful pairings, something special. After finishing our meal, we requested our bills and reminded staff we were still waiting for the third curated pour. We were told "five minutes." Those five minutes never came. Eventually, wanting simply to leave, we paid a single combined bill and sorted it out ourselves. Dinner for four totaled $460. This was not the boutique Lakeshore dining experience we expected, and ultimately, it was deeply disappointing.
