I didn't even take a picture of the flights of wine we tasted, though they were fantastic. The facilities here are great. You are on a multi-level terrace, at your own table. It's shaded. It's quiet. It's peaceful. It's beautiful. I am not a wine person. I usually opt for cocktails. But, we came here on a warm day in the late spring. Their white (or more accurately "lighter than red") wines are light and taste like summer. Summer in a glass. You can't go wrong with that. Our wine guide was fantastic. She spent a lot of time with us. Brought us some extra glasses. She was so knowledgeable and so personable. And she attained a first: got me to sign up for their wine club! I was putty, all wined-up and feeling happy and fine. Even got a "free" Tablas Creek ball cap. Great place. Go visit.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was our first winery of the day and it didn't disappoint. We came into the parking lot but wanted to extend our son's napping so we drove around the area for another twenty minutes. When the hostess checked us in, she was wondering if we were the folks that drove in and then drove out haha. We sat down and had a red and white tasting that each consisted of 5 wines each. All were pretty good and the white wines definitely had more tropical fruit notes associated with them. The reds were as you expected: big and bold. Had some oak to help mellow out the boldness but definitely a great wine to sip on. THE FINAL BAMBOO: For a red and a white tasting, the damage done here was around $50. We enjoyed the views and the hospitality here. Will be back!

It was peaceful, beautiful, and the kind of place where you immediately want to linger for a few extra hours. The wines were excellent across the board, starting with the rosé welcome pour, and I completely fell in love with Sawbones. The hospitality is what really sets Jada apart. I brought my dog, and not only was she welcome, she was absolutely doted on by the staff. By the end of the tasting, I think she was considering staying behind! Michelle was phenomenal--warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She shared the story of the winery and the wines in a way that made the experience feel personal and special. It was my second favorite as far as wines I sampled on my trip, and the first was a high bar for them to beat. The grounds were beautiful and they had a beautiful outdoor space for sitting and sampling. It was a chilly morning though, so I stayed inside to enjoy my wines and the descriptions. It's a very small tasting room with a more 1:1 approach, so it's best to have a reservation. We made a reservation a week before and still had a few options when selecting the time. Our tasting was led by Yudy, who was an absolute delight to chat with. We learned all about how TOP came to be, the different vineyards they work with, and all the blends. She made it such a wonderful experience and was all about celebrating the little things going on our life. The tasting consisted of four wines, but they had an extra one open that we were able to try. We ended up taking a bottle of the variant red blend and rosé home with us. Bottles were on the pricier side, but it's a very small family owned operation that's doing high quality wines. They also waive a tasting fee with a two bottle purchase. The tasting room is tucked away in an area that you wouldn't expect to find a winery, but we've actually been to a handful in this area, so it was easy enough for us to find. We had a very nice experience at this unassuming, little winery tucked away inside an industrial park. Elena (Co-owner, along with her husband/winemaker, Stanley) poured for us while providing their origin story and a tour of their facility. The front third of the building is the tasting room, with production and barrel room storage in the rear. They produce Rhône varietal wines from vineyards throughout California; however, their focus is on Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Graciano, Roussanne, and Grenache Blanc, occasionally trying other varieties that may fall into their hands. The wines were extremely well-made and quite delicious. We purchased four bottles, thus waiving the tasting fee. Our favorites were the '21 "Elena's Cuvee" Grenache,'21 "Precession" Syrah, and '21 "Inertia" GSM. NOTE: The online reservation system states that it's a 1-hour tasting, but I would suggest allowing at least 90 minutes, especially on your first visit. Also, they do not have outdoor signage at the winery. Just look for the brown wooden fence and the entrance is behind it. We're heading back for a return visit in a couple weeks, so I'll be able to provide an update shortly.
