For the most part Windsor plywood has been good to me over the pass several years but the pass couple times I have gone in it has been nothing but headaches.. I got a $1,800 quote for our front door from a salesperson after being quoted $500-$600 just days before from another sales person. That made no sense and felt very rushed as there where a couple other customers that day. Did not appreciate being rushed and the salespersons attitude.
Today was the last straw. I was working with a salesperson and he got told to take lunch. I ended up getting another guy who had rushed me with the door quote months prior. I should have just left the store when I saw him but instead I stayed because I needed my lumber. I told him what I wanted and they had to cut boards down to get the sizes I needed. While I was waiting I found the same lumber in the "short" pile in the corner of the store and it was less then half the price of the boards I was getting cut. After the boards where cut I saw that they were both bent and one had a 12 inch long split in the middle. For $6.99 LF I should have perfect boards. I pointed this all out and they guy told me to pick the boards I wanted. At that point I wanted to walk out of the store. I then asked why he didn't show me the boards in the "short" pile for $1.89 LF.. he had no answer... I told him I would take one board with no crack because I had them cut it and the rest I took from the short pile.. for one board I spent over $40, the exact same board in the short pile was $13 and change... For some reason that one salesperson has no need to try and understand what the project is for and has no concern on how much money you can save. I WILL NEVER GO TO WINDSOR PLYWOOD AGAIN. read more
