There is the 2nd floor which overlooks the parking lot and beach and then the 3rd floor which over looks a similar view but one story higher. The 3rd floor has more outdoor space than the 2nd floor. Therefore, if you have a group of 3 or more, go to the third floor. Beach Fries - they have their version of "ol bay" fries - which to be honest may be better. The salt/flavor of their seasoning is great. These are the perfect appetizer for the table to start your meal. Chicken sandwich - I had the chicken sandwich which was tasty. The red pepper/chicken combo was distinct and made the sandwich. The salad that came with it was good as well. Would highly recommend. Pro tip: if you are going to watch a game, sit in the great room on the 2nd floor. It has a ton of TVs and the best atmosphere. Pro tip: You should explore their cocktail menu. I have had a wide assortment of experiences at The Windrift. Some positive dine-in experiences, and others where my meal was completely forgotten. Takeout experiences have been exclusively bad. For the higher price point, I expect and hope for a better quality of service and consistency. On my last in-person visit, a large group of us went for their wing night specials. After waiting about 10 minutes for a table (they told us the wait would be 45 minutes so we didn't mind the shorter than expected wait time) we were seated and promptly told that they are no longer doing any specials. If you are heading in with the intention of enjoying a special, call first to ensure they're back on. Some menu highlights include their salads, sushi, and pizzas. However, I would avoid ordering their pizzas to go. My takeout pizza was rock hard and slightly burnt. We even arrived early to pick it up, so it didn't sit very long before consumption. I also enjoy their watermelon martini. It's light and refreshing, but definitely on the expensive side for a cocktail. read more

We dined at restaurant 105. We liked the ambience very much and enjoyed the music coming from the bar next to the restaurant. Our waitress, Nadia, was very good. She made it an enjoyable evening. However the restaurant is understaffed and forces the waitresses to do too many things for too many tables. The night we were dined, there were several large parties of 6-10 and our waitress had six of those tables. We were the only party of two. I guess with Covid it's hard to find people, but they should've had separate people busing the tables and refilling water versus putting it all on the waitress in a fine dining restaurant. We watched all the waitresses sprinting from table to table to try and do their best to make their customers happy. Management needs to help them. Getting drinks brought to us from the bar was a challenge. It is a very slow process. The old fashions tasted very weak. It was only nine dollars, but the other drinks were slightly over priced. Onto the food. We started with deviled eggs, which were probably the best I have had in a restaurant anywhere, and sashimi salmon. The sashimi was dry and had very little flavor. It was my first time to try the Windrift sushi bar, and I won't again. They probably have sushi rolls which are covered in sauce and hide the taste. You can't do that with sashimi. If the sashimi isn't fresh, the rolls won't be either. One tip: I noticed that everyone who ordered sushi received their rolls or sashimi first and then a few minutes later received their soy sauce and chop sticks. We were almost through our three pieces before the soy sauce showed up. It should have been in the opposite order obviously. Several tables had this happen besides us though. The menu is very limited with only a few entrées to choose from. The night we were there, they didn't have any Seabass. That left only 3 seafood options. For the entrées we had the seared scallops and the crabcakes. The scallops with lobster risotto were perfectly cooked and amazing. Simply delicious dish. The crabcake is billed to be a famous 20 year old recipe, but we found it average at best for the shore with a bunch of filler (Back Bay has a much better crab cake). The asparagus and potatoes that accompanied the crabcakes were perfectly cooked and delicious. We had a side of green beans which tasted very fresh and were also perfectly cooked and delicious. No room for dessert. Definitely good food and worth a return visit. read more

We started our time at the Windrift at the outdoor beach bar and it was popping! It's a great spot if you want to feel like you are at a resort in the Caribbean. We got hungry and moved indoors to the restaurant. We sat at the bar area which has beautiful views of the ocean. The food here is hit or miss depending what you order. We ordered some sushi, bang bang shrimp, wings and the Caesar salad pizza. The sushi here is surprisingly very good and is a staple of mine when eating here. The bang bang shrimp were just ok. The flavor wasn't all that great. The wings were subpar...a little too soggy for my liking. The Caesar salad pizza hit the spot for me. It's a unique pizza which is what I liked most about it. Im a pizza snob living in the Mecca of pizza so I think if I ordered a 'normal' pie, it wouldn't have lived up to my expectations. All in all the ambiance was great and the Windrift has immaculate views. Luckily our waitress did a great job upstairs because the Chris Farley looking bartender downstairs was rude and looked annoyed with anyone trying to order drinks. read more

This spot has beautiful views - don't get me wrong, the 2nd floor restaurant space, which is also the open air room where weddings are hosted, provides some of the best views at the Jersey Shore, hands down. We've been told to try the sushi here, but I think that must be mostly because it's just the only place at the jersey shore/in Stone Harbor area that even has sushi. It was very average. Future Husband got the wings for his lunch and 2 miller lattes (no bud on tap here, which doesn't exactly please him). I got a very standard salad with honey poppy dressing that was good. I asked for grilled chicken well done, since you can add chicken, shrimp, or chicken salad to any salad. Well, I know exactly what they did to make my "grilled chicken" well done. They threw it under the broiler on high for 3 minutes. The end result was very dry chicken, though I prefer dry over rubbery, and I ate it all. I come here every year since it is right down the road from my husband's family's condo. It has been up-and-down each year. Last year, I came a few times and I enjoyed my experience. This year has been pretty good. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was nice, but kind of loud. However, the food is way too overpriced and mediocre. We tried the fish, sushi, shrimp wraps and chicken cheesesteak and all were just ok at best. Definitely not worth the prices. I personally wouldn't recommend eating a full meal here. Windrift is going back to being a drink (if I get a seat at the bar for a view) and maybe an appetizer place. read more

A family tradition since my parents were barely adults. We love the Windrift and have had many fun memories here! Great food and always evolving throughout the years from the yellow beach bar where we'd get a burger n chips after family time at the beach, to dancing to the oldies with my parents in my 20's, to girls night outs in my 30's. We ate at the large bar area upstairs and I must say the restaurant is fantastic. The location and restaurant itself are worth the visit however the food and service need a bit more attention. I never could understand how a main entree is served prior to appetizers but this is what we experienced. I am assuming this could be attributed to poor kitchen management and inexperienced chef/lines (new summer help getting their feet grounded). The menu in itself has a very good variety and the drink menu is amazing. You can get a variety of food from pizza and cheesesteaks to sushi and salads. We had sushi / clam chowder/ edimome and their chicken cheesesteak. Again the food was good but timing was all wrong and servers/bartenders need to be a bit more empathetic to patrons. The women next to us ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which looked almost comical. A plain bread bun with a ever so small piece of grilled chicken and chips on the side. We heard her complain to the bartender and he said you would need to speak to the manager or she could order something else. She politely refused anything else and just left the food untouched. In situations like this the bartender/servers need to bring management in to resolve and educate their cooks and staff. That said I hope the staff and management start to be more attentive to their service and listen to constructive feedback. Once they get this ironed out it will be a win/win. read more

Great place for a summertime cocktail with a spectacular view of the Avalon beach. Drinks aren't cheap here, but you pay for location. I did not eat here, but the food I saw come out looked above average. This would have been a five star review, if the service at the bar would have been better. Sitting at the bar with a few friends, I felt the service was painfully slow. In my opinion it was a summertime bartender with limited experience. A bartender with experience and speed could really make a mint here. read more

My husband and I are down the shore for the week and decided to have a date night at the Windrift. I easily made reservations through Yelp a week early. We arrived a few mins early but the hostess was able to seat us right away. We had a cozy booth by a window. We ordered cheesesteak egg rolls and bang bang shrimp for apps. They were both delicious. The bang bang shrimp was tangy and fresh. The cheesesteak egg rolls were filled with meat and cheese. For drinks I had an orange crushed and my hubby had a raspberry ice tea. They were strong and refreshing. For dinner I ordered the chicken francaise and my husband got the short ribs. The chicken was so tender and juicy and the pasta was cooked to perfection. My husband loved the short ribs and said the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious as well. The staff was great and everything was clean and organized. We could hear the piano player from the next room and he was awesome. Can't wait for our next vacation date night at the Windrift! read more

The service was excellent including punctual service and food knowledge. Today's breakfast was coffee, eggs benedict, veggie omlete and a bloody mary(feeding 2). As a bartender myself, I was appalled by their ignorance and lack of training to identify real ID's. It would be very bold of us to sit at the bar at 10 pm and order drinks if we were underaged. The bartender was super friendly and understanding, and I completely understand the uncomfortable situation, as denying my ID wasn't her call. I've been here a few times, but I come mostly for the nightlife and for the music and drinks- I've never actually tried any of their food. They've got about four bars, I think. Two in one room, where there's often live music playing and people dancing (of all ages, from young to older adults), and two upstairs (one of which is outside on a small deck). Throughout the place, there are tables, bar seating, and some patio chairs to lounge on. They have a lot of TVs too and are usually playing some kind of sports game, but the TVs are pretty small and hard to see unless you're sitting at the bar. In the middle of the summer, the Windrift is "the" place to be, and usually there's some kind of cover charge to get in. We didn't pay one tonight- I don't believe they have a cover after labor day. Out of season, this place is hit or miss. The service has usually been pretty reliable and friendly here, but the craft beer selection isn't the best. I usually make note to try to come here at least once during the summer while I'm in town. read more

Went for brunch and had the Chicken Caesar Salad (a complete knockout - also a huge portion for those like me scared that a salad won't fill them up) and Avocado Toast (delicious and healthy, complete with a perfect arugula salad). Waitstaff was friendly (Ben). We chose to sit inside due to the heat wave, but outside seating is available as well - both complete with mind blowing ocean views. read more

What an awesome place to drink and eat with an amazing beach view. The Windrift met all my expectations and more! My friends have a beach house in the area and we spent the whole weekend eating and drinking here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The multiple decks offer pool/beach views. Food comes out quicker than most places this packed and all the fish was very fresh. The sushi has fresh ingredients and the appetizers are a great size for sharing. I would recommend the Windrift roll, the wings, the crab bites, and the nachos!! We will be back next time we are in stone harbor/ avalon read more

We went here to celebrate my birthday. If you advertise your restaurant (105) as "Fine Dining", you are going to have to do a lot better. We figured we would go earlier in the evening so we could get a nice table and better service. We were wrong. We pulled into the parking lot where it said "Valet Service" but there was no one around so my husband dropped me off at the entrance to go find a parking spot. Ok, no big deal...maybe they were on a break and we can park our own car. While the restaurant had maybe 3 or 4 other tables seated, they sat us in the main dining area all together where the other dining room that looks out to the dunes was completely empty. I had put in the reservation we were celebrating my birthday so it would have been nice to be seated at a table with a better view. Our waitress came over and was very sweet and took our order. We ordered a sushi roll and some sashimi to share for our appetizer. My husband ordered the short ribs and I ordered the scallops with a lobster risotto for dinner. The sushi came out promptly and was very good although our waitress didn't bring the soy sauce over until we were almost done. More people came in...and they had bathing suit coverups and flip flops on. I guess there is no dress code and you can come in and eat right from the pool. Shortly after we were done our appetizers, a different waiter brought us our dinners but hurried off before I could say anything. Either they must have found the biggest scallop in NJ or this is not a scallop at all. There also seems to be no lobster in the risotto. I told my husband to go ahead and eat his dinner so it wouldn't get cold and waited 10 minutes for our waitress to come check on us. I told her this was not what I ordered and she said "I'm pretty sure it is." She then whipped out the menu and said "Oh, I'm sorry...I put in the sea bass with the parmesan risotto by mistake. I am so sorry and I will get you the scallops right away." Everyone makes mistakes...she apologized and got me my dinner right away. The scallops and lobster risotto were delicious but I would have thought she would have had a manager come by and say something to us. As soon as I was done my dinner, she came over and asked if we would like our check. My husband looked puzzled and said "Not yet, it's my wife's birthday and I think she would like some dessert." I ordered the cheesecake thinking ok, maybe dessert will make up for the mess that was dinner. Wrong. It looks like they cut the smallest piece of cheesecake they could and slapped in on a plate with a half of a strawberry. I wasn't expecting a firecracker coming out of the cake but a better presentation would have been nice. We paid the bill, tipped our server 25% because it's not her fault and she did apologize for getting my dinner wrong and went out to the bar to try to salvage the night. It would have been nice if there was a manager walking around the dining room and checking on all of the guests. That is something we expect with fine dining. Maybe if they get some new management, we will try again but for now, we will stick with going to The Reeds. read more

One of my favorite things to do in Stone Harbor in the summer is to take a morning yoga class at the Windrift Hotel, followed by brunch ah the restaurant. The morning yoga classes are open to the public (not just hotel guests) and cost around $15-$29 per class. It is a great morning workout, and upper deck where the class is held looks over the beach. Brunch at the Windrift Restaurant is always a good idea. They have a lot of outdoor seating with beach views. There's something for everyone on the menu. I normally opt for eggs over medium with toast and a Bloody Mary. They also have really great pancakes/French toast. read more

She was very attentive, polite, and personable as well as made good recommendations. * The beach bar menu had so many amazing options that it was hard to choose! Their is something for whatever your party is craving! * For appetizers, I had the restaurants tuna sashimi, my brother had a spicy salmon roll, grandmom had the lobster bisque, mom had the Avalon roll, stepdad had the seaweed salad, and my two little sisters split an order of beach fries! The seafood was all extremely fresh and was obviously local from the island! The presentation of the tuna sashimi was beautiful! I got to try the seaweed salad as well which is definitely a must try! * For entrees, I ordered the seared Chilean sea bass served with Parmesan risotto and asparagus! The restaurant prepared my order without any butter and I excluded the honey cream sauce since I am lactose intolerant (but I guarantee the sauce is excellent!), and I appreciate the care there! My brother ordered the Dayboat Sea Scallops over lobster risotto, stepdad had The Giuseppe Pizza, Grandmother and sister ordered the crab cake sandwich, little sister had the lobster grilled cheese, and mom ordered seaweed salad! All of them could not get over how good their food tasted, and we had little leftover to take home! We have been eating at the 105 for 3+ yrs now. We like the food, it is pricey American cuisine with a few additional specialties like sushi, crab cakes, fish, pastas, etc. But, they have added deviled eggs as an appetizer (really, I'm not joking) and lately the salads are ehhhhh. Bug enough to split between 3 ppl, but not really imaginative or creative. And tonight I had the chicken francaise- again ehhhhhh... I'm used to a tjin chicken cutlet in a crisp batter coating with a lovely buttery lemony wine reduction with a hint of garlic; and this was not that. The cutlet was a THICK BLSL chicken breast (2 actually) in a bland butter sauce over plain tube pasta noodles. I think the chief could have done sooooo much better than this. This was not chicken francaise! My husband enjoyed the veal mimi though and that was thin veal cutlets.... Kinda disappointing after we know this restaurant is way better than what we were served tonight. Sad. Do better chief!!! I've been here a few times and always leave with the same thoughts, this place is great for drinks and the pretty views but I didn't love the food I've only ever eaten at the upstairs bar so i still have to give the downstairs area a try but i can't imagine it's any different. The food is decent but overly priced, which is typical down at the shore. Definitely a must visit spot if you're with anyone who hasn't been before, the views are spectacular on the roof.
