Cute little restaurant on the Avalon boardwalk that you would more than likely miss if you weren't looking for it. Great service and the breakfast was better than anything I've had at the Jersey Shore in all my years coming. read more

A tradition on the AVALON NJ boardwalk. Omelettes are outstanding and they always offer many specials. Outside with the smell of the ocean and the cries of gulls can't be beat in nice weather. Inside is cozy and always feels like family. read more

Food passes the test, the service is what you would expect and maybe more, and it's in one of the best spots possible for a restaurant. Right on the beach! On the boardwalk. Such a vibe! Would recommend if you eat outside! read more

The name really doesn't match the vibe here at all. This is a diner for sure. I was pleasantly surprised. I love the open kitchen, it feels old school. Cash only, fast and delicious food. I think the portions are good for the price. I like the pancakes here better than Uncle Bobs personally. This is my new go-to spot. read more

Fishin' Pier Grille - Eastern Omelette, Chocolate Chip Pancakes - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Avalon, New Jersey

What a delicious brunch! I ordered the egg, goat cheese, spinach, onion and tomato omelette, which came with potatoes and toast. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the food was delivered, and the kindness of all the servers. I had a request to add spinach to my omelette and it wasn't a problem at all. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, you truly feel like you're in a beach diner that is still clean and delicious. They accept cash only, but you can also pay them through Venmo. read more

Fishin' Pier Grille - Goat cheese, spinach, onion and tomato omelette with wheat toast and potatoes. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Avalon, New Jersey

A perfect beachside brunch spot! Really quaint little beach hut diner right on the Avalon boardwalk. I stopped by for brunch and ordered one of the daily specials--the club omelet with spinach, tomatoes, bacon, and avocado. It was thick, hearty, and had that nostalgic, flavorful "local diner" taste you only get from a well-seasoned grill. The rye toast was perfectly toasted--crisp on the outside, soft inside--just how I like it. The waitresses were very friendly and welcoming, adding to the laid-back, beach-town vibe. If you're walking the boardwalk and haven't eaten yet, this is the kind of place that'll hit the spot and keep you full. Cozy, casual, and satisfying--highly recommend. read more

Wow! Impressed. This place is cash only OR Venmo! Smart move. This is a diner literally on the boardwalk. Prices are reasonable. If you love outdoors, the beach, the boardwalk AND breakfast. This place is for you! Decent menu. Fast service and a dining experience you can't beat. Coffee is good also. Love the custom mugs. read more

This place DOES. NOT. MISS. Be prepared to wait - but it is worth it. No reservations. Cash Only. When you are thriving under these circumstances, you know you are doing something right. Their menu is big - lots to choose from. I've been 3 or 4 times now, and continue to get something different. I am always equally impressed. Most recently, I had the chance to sit at the counter. If you can swing it, I would recommend asking to sit here. The team behind the counter is a well oiled machine, and I literally sat their jaw dropped, watching them take in orders, cook, plate, and get dishes out to the customers. It really was remarkable and made for such a fun experience for me. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which was a pay on a B.L.T. and my wife ordered their avocado toast! Both were incredible. The services is friendly and great at what they do. All around, a wonderful experience. Every time I am in Stone Harbor, this is a must stop for me. Would highly recommend. read more

The best breakfast in Avalon. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is excellent and the waitstaff is very friendly and professional. As for the food, it is definitely the best breakfast around. Large and delicious servings and choices. Today, I enjoyed the pancakes stuffed with bananas, chocolate chips and peanut butter. They offer many different t choices of pancakes, omelettes and/or French toast. I highly recommend and make it a point to eat there every time I am in Avalon or Sea Isle. read more

Food, service, and ambiance were all a+ Loved this casual spot for breakfast - we ordered a smorgasbord of options and the kids and adults enjoyed every bite. I can't wait to come back and see these lovely people and eat the delicious food. It's reasonably priced and cash only-- so bring extra because the service is worth it ! read more

Service and food are excellent. Usually a short wait. But worth it. The pancakes are the best.

This place gets five stars on a weekday. The weekends are a little dicey. You're at the shore, and on the boardwalk, you pay for that. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The hostess was definitely on top of her game. I only gave it four stars because they cheap out on some things, like you only get one slice of toast? read more

We were eager for healthier breakfast options and decided to go with Fishin' Pier Grille. Though every table was full and there were others waiting, our wait time was only 10 minutes so we were able to get in quick during a busy time. The staff was friendly and there is only outdoor seating and most of the tables are in the way of the sidewalk. There were people who would walk through without masks on. The tables are also super close to the street so when cars were parking they would come close to the tables. My biggest complaint is that there were birds everywhere getting extremely close to touching those sitting. I know this isn't the restaurants fault due to the circumstances, but just wanted to inform those wondering about our experience. The food was delicious! I got the Florentine Benedict and my friend got the pork roll egg and cheese and both were wonderful. They had lots of flavor and they provided a lot of food for the price of our meals. They had us pay via Venmo or cash, no card. This was difficult because they did not split the check/ we had no cash on us so we had to figure out how much we owed separately, add up the tax, and then tip. Though the food was good, this would not be my choice of restaurant to return to. read more

This place has such amazing breakfast I am floored. Service was fire too. Gotta bring the fam here one day.

First off thank you Jessica!!!! You were such a sweetheart! This was our second breakfast stop for the season and it became our favorite! Food is simple yet delicious! You introduced me to FPG sad girl potatoes which were fantastic I've had them everyday since we arrived. The lox omelette was just woah! When it arrived my mind just said "no way just get a box" it was huge and well worth the price. The outdoor seating is lovely and the owls are fun. I moved one each time to awkwardly stare at me while I ate The woman who seems to live there who greets you at the door is also wonderful! Great smile with a cheery good morning is a great way to start the day! My only negative would be the avocado. $6 for half an avocado as a side is a bit much considering the cost of the main. But regardless the service makes up for it so once again thank you! See you in the morning Matt and John read more

Best shore breakfast around! Simple, delicious, and is an iconic establishment in town.

I've been coming to 7 mile Island for 25 years.... can't believe I missed this great breakfast place on the Avalon boardwalk! The blueberry pancakes, which I normally think are boring, where fabulous. I wish I had the batter recipe! The S.M.C omelette (spinach mushroom cheese) off the regular menu was fabulous. Substitute feta cheese, but they will charge you extra. The mushrooms were particularly yummy. Notice that all the special items were more expensive. The only thing I didn't like was the coffee. Yuck! But they kindly substituted tea for me. Thank goodness it's air-conditioned, because it's a very hot morning! We will be back! read more

I was really looking forward to this place and getting a good breakfast with the family. This was my first time here, however my family has been here before. Got here around 11 and waited around 20 minutes to get seated. We all ordered straight forward meals, such as pancakes. Well it took a while to get any food and I couldn't help but notice an older couple who arrived at least 15 minutes after we did get their food before us. And yes they also ordered pancakes. My wife and one daughter were served their meals, however my other daughter and I still waited on our pancakes. The waitress kept telling me "it's coming ". Really? After she told me that 3 times I got up to speak with the manager. When I went inside (we were seated outside) I saw tons of various pancakes being cooked on the grill. I asked politely where my order was and all of a sudden our waitress appears with my order. I think the next time I'm on vacation here I'll find me another breakfast spot as the food was nothing to brag about and service was below par. read more

Best breakfast in Avalon. Cute, quirky vibes; awesome service. Really enjoyed the pork roll and my eggs were a perfect over easy. Toast to the ceiling. Only negatives were the home fries were a bit al dente and underseasoned and they don't serve alcohol so I couldn't get my bloody m fix. read more

Best breakfast in Avalon and Stone Harbor. Food is delicious, staff is great and the atmosphere is so inviting.

There are two locations, one in Stone Harbor and this one on the boardwalk in Avalon. This location is much smaller and can accommodate fewer customers, and there is still a wait on most mornings. The pancakes are incredibly good, and the omelettes are the "fluffy" kind, rather than the "crepe-like" kind. The servers are all so friendly, and there is never a rush to move tables along even when there is a wait. Lots of great non-egg options for breakfast, including granola and yogurt, as well as avocado toast with a balsamic glaze, which is a real winner! read more

The omelettes are amazing. Lots of special omelettes in addition to their regular menu. Highly recommend the sundried tomato, asparagus & cheese omelet! I was less impressed with the French toast. We ordered apple French toast and I didn't taste any apples nor even cinnamon. It was still good but not worth the $10.50 or so that they charged. And FYI if you come here on a weekend be prepared for a wait. read more

Fishin' Pier Grille - Sundried tomato asparagus cheese omelet in front and "apple" French toast in back - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Avalon, New Jersey

Very nice room. If you pay attention, you'll notice their plates are small. Maybe 10" rather than 12". With that said, it takes far less product to fill your plate. I am a big fan of New Jersey Diners, and compare the same breakfast dish. I was ready to pay a premium because of the resort location. I ordered my usual. Out comes the tiny plate, with a tablespoon of potatoes, 2 strips of bacon, rather than my usual 4, 1 slice of toast, rather than 2. I don't mind paying 20% more on vacation, but not for 35% less food. I am not the only reviewer that's noticed this. A review in May mentioned the same. By the way, they won't make you poached eggs..... one and done.... read more

The best place for a hot, fresh breakfast on the island. Don't waste your time anywhere else. Things to know: Get in before 9 -- it's small and wait times can run over an hour on weekends Cash only You can't go wrong on the menu (savory or sweet) You won't need lunch, so it's perfect before a day of beach lounging My go-to is the jalapeno, sausage, tomato, and cheese omelet, but when I'm craving fruit the peach pancakes are delicious. Fresh ingredients and the meal comes out piping hot. It seriously doesn't get any better. read more

Fishin' Pier Grille - Eggs Benedict to die for! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Avalon, New Jersey

We took our chances coming on a Sunday morning between 10-11am expecting a wait. Fortunately, we were able to snag two seats at the counter right away! The service was good considering how busy they were. We got menus and some coffee right away. Sitting at the counter, all the food looks so good and the vegetables they use look so fresh. I love the special omelet options that they have, and my boyfriend and I both got one. He got the broccoli rabe and sausage, which he added provolone cheese to for a classic combination. He raved about his omelet, and the bite I had was very flavorful. I ordered prosciutto, tomato, and asparagus. I really enjoyed it, though the prosciutto was so thick and not what I was envisioning (the classic thinly sliced kind). The huge chunks made those bites extremely salty, so be aware! Everyone here is so so friendly and I can't wait to come back. We sat in front of the baked goods tray and they were so tantalizing. I just wish the cafe wasn't cash only. read more

I love this place so much and come every Summer when I visit Avalon. Was there today with my mom and two boys. The owner and wait staff are all so pleasant and accommodating. I love the outside seating with umbrellas. I am a gardener so I truly appreciate her hanging baskets and overflowing window boxes. Such a pretty setting on the boardwalk. Now for the food...always fresh, tasty, and great selection. I had the spinach, mushroom, cheese omelette...delicious. prices are reasonable too....a true gem. read more

Flat out the best breakfast on the island. The staff is great - the food is prepared quickly and tasty. The pancakes are huge. The omelets are enormous and come with tons of filling options. Home fries are simple and prepared well. If you like sausage it's the tastiest one around. They serve fresh squeezed oj and probably their biggest gem is the grilled cinnamon bun. I have been raised on this breakfast and I do not intend to ever live my life without it. While I embarrassingly always stick with buttermilk pancakes (classics are classics), everything that comes out of this kitchen is delicious and all the fuel you need for an entire day of lounging at the shore. My family frequently indulges on their jalapeno or mushroom omelettes which are delicious, and I love their seemingly endless coffee too. So many sweet food and fam memories here :) It gets crowded, so I am very excited that they are opening some other locations to hopefully spread the wealth. Go early! read more
