Inconsistent. Sometimes it's great other times it's not so great. They keep changing staff, which is typical for the shore unfortunately. This time it was pretty greasy I actually sent my burger back. It was super greasy and undercooked. Everything was super greasy, but there's been other times . We liked it a lot so not to say we will not be back We like the fact that it never gets super crowded.! I wish the chef would learn to use a lot less oil. They usually get it dialed in by the end of Aug. like everyone else. read more

My grandma also LOVES this place! The staff is the best, super friendly and helpful. The bar and seating is a little outdated but honestly it just felt very cozy and nostalgic to me. We got two pizzas, plain cheese and the funky chicken I think it was called... anyways it was great. Perfect crunchy crust! read more

Concord Cafe - Cheese pizza and fries! - Pizza Near Me - Avalon, New Jersey

Cute local neighborhood restaurant/bar. Love seeing the bartenders greeting the regulars.

Food was very good, but it was disappointing that they ran out of croutons. Ambiance was nice but I don't know why they keep lowering the brightness! Service was another thing. I was disappointed on how little staff was doing. I get that 3 big tables did come in but it is disappointed, including I believe who was the manager was just walking around just talking to people. read more

First time at Concord Cafe and I'm glad I stopped in. I had the Buffalo chicken cheesesteak and it was honestly one of the best I've had. Spicy, cheesy and full of flavor. The service was laid-back but attentive, and the overall vibe was welcoming. Great place! read more

Went here cause it was convenient....Soggy fries and soggy pizza will not be back again

We ate lunch here one day. They had some lunch specials which was nice so the items were a little cheaper than the menu prices and included fries. I ordered the tuna burger. It was okay. It didn't have a lot of flavor and was a little overcooked in my opinion. The fries were good though. My sister had clams. They were good and she enjoyed them. Service was good and not a bad place to eat if you are staying at the Concord. read more

I always like the food here. In fact I have a review on here from years ago about the burger. But for the love of God, can we get different music other than the bartender's playlist. We recently had to hear multiple Eric Clapton songs in a row. Then more slow depressing classic rock from the 70s. This is the beach. In the summer. At its peak. And we come in here and have to listen to this? The bartender loves the music obviously it's his phone plugged in. And this happens every time. After two friends went and independently told me about the music, I thought I'd post this. Please change it up. It's 2025. read more

Food is mediocre. The sign on the women's bathroom door is beyond insulting. I will never be back. Terrible attitude.

It has super yummy pizza! We had a late night bite in summer of 2024, the cafe is cozy and comfortable with friendly staff.

Nick VanDuyne was the best Bartender! He made a perfect cosmos! Very attentive and friendly! Will go again often!

The food was ok, but the service was very disorganized. My pizza arrived after my entire family had finished their meals. . Several of the servers seemed more interested in sitting together to wrap utensils, instead of waiting on customers read more

The pizza has always been good here. Drinks are reasonable and the staff always treats us well. Great spot for late night cocktails ,

We had only apps but they were pretty good. Just a little snack in the afternoon. They have a full bar menu and I was surprised to see people I. There well past 11pm. read more

Long time favorite under new management and staff. A heads up: THEY CHARGE 3% ON CREDIT CARDS!!! Not sure when I'm going back.

The waitresses were really sweet, The Manhattens were on point. The food was great, But that 80's music Playlist has to go. Yikes!

Rude male bartender. March 9, 2023, 6:45 ordering takeout. But also tried to order a drink from the bartender as I waited. He would NOT serve me, told me I had to order drink from server. However the server told me to order my drink from bartender. Upon explaining , his response " I don't care!" Bartender, is that how you were raised? Hope in the future, concord re thinks their hires! ps decided to leave before placing takeout. The food is average, def not worth dealing with rude guy. read more

My wife and I had a turkey club, and meatball grinder, both very tasty, and filling! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although we had our order to go, the restaurant/ bar was very nice, and based on their promotions they have fun things to do during the week. Good place! read more

So wanted this to be a great place that could become our new go to restaurant. I called in a pretty big order from the very nice menu for take out. Order was ready when we got there, right on time. Five minute drive home. Sadly, every order was miserable looking, mushy texture and nondescript flavors. We concluded everything was pre-cooked and microwaved just before pickup. Big disappointment. read more

Just got takeout. Staff was great super friendly if I was reviewing the staff it would be 5 stars. Worst cheesesteak ever, only way to screw up a cheesesteak is by serving a poor product. Steak was gummy and tasted about a month old. This place used to be so good, read a lot of negative reviews on other sites but ignored them. Really sad read more

I don't get the negative reviews. Just had a great lunch for four here and, remarkably for this area, it was under $100. Very clean inside, service was fast and friendly, portions were large. They can lose the paper plates but come here for what's on them! read more

My husband and I came here to get something to eat down the shore. We weren't looking to go anyway fancy so we came here. It is very casual and almost looks like a pizza place but with waiter service. We were able to get seated right away. The menu is pretty big and they have a good variety of burgers, pizza, sandwiches etc. I had the chicken cheesesteak with fries. My food was good, nothing to write home about but above average. Our waitress did a good job, she was attentive and good with getting refills and such. Overall, this is a nice place to grab a bite, it is also very reasonably priced for the area. read more

Came in late after a wedding, checked if they were still serving, ordered still waiting after 35 mins, waitress never even came back to refill drinks, granted it is later in evening, but to proclaim #1 at the shore, not even close, still waiting for some food, the stuff that came is mediocre at best, maybe time is factor, but thumbs down here read more

Great Food! Great Staff! Honestly it's Avalon in the summer so the others that complain the wait is too long for food.. not sure if you notice a full restaurant and bar and by the way I watched the takeout crew back and forth to the kitchen more times then I could count.. in my Philly Girl opinion it's worth the wait.. Thank You to the kitchen crew! I'm sure it ain't easy. read more

Previous reviewers have been correct the food here is reasonably priced and overall it averages out to be decent quality food, but the service is quite abysmal. We, a party of 6, got in at 5:30 and were told that it should only be 15 minutes for a wait. We were quite surprised that it was such a short wait for such a large party. We assumed that a table must have just cleared out and that they were busing it in order for us to sit down. That assumption of ours was stark wrong. Instead of waiting 15 minutes we waited over 45 minutes for a table to clear. Thankfully this was probably the worst of our service woes, but it certainly was far from the last. The waitress we had repeatedly bent herself over the table and in front of several of us in order to place food or drinks and also did the same when removing food or drinks. This would have been fine if she had asked us, warned us, or apologized for reaching right in our faces, but she didn't. Another minute issue was that the food came out very sporadically. Despite having asked for an entree salad to come out the same time as the side salads and appetizers, all three came out at separate times. Thankfully, the food, for the most part, was quite good. The roast beef sandwich was great according to two members of our party and the entree chicken Caesar salad was also good. One odd thing was that a side salad that was ordered with Caesar dressing instead came with a distinctly different - when compared to the chicken Caesar's - dressing, though we couldn't determine what it actually was. One gripe with the food other than the mystery salad dressing was with the burgers. One member of the party ordered a well-done burger and I ordered my burger medium. When the burgers came out, however, both burgers were exactly the same level of doneness. Both looked like they were medium-well, mostly cooked except for a dash of pink. It's just odd when we expected one to be more cooked and one to be less cooked. To top it all off the waitress only never actually came back to see how we were doing with our food or drinks. We had to ask other waitstaff to bring her back out so we could get refills on our drinks and also the check. She wasn't even the one to bring out the check, but she did come back out to pick it up as we left. As I before, other reviews of this restaurant are correct. Just keep in mind that the waitstaff is bad. The food is just fine, especially considering the prices that other places in the area charge for similar quality food, but you'll need to be prepared for poor waitstaff. Had we had a better experience with the waitstaff this review would have likely been a 3, because the restaurant in general is quite average. The below average service really easily knocked it down. read more

This restaurant is great! The food was amazing and delicious! The only thing I didn't like was that they were a bit slow on serving the food. read more

I'll start off by saying that the food was good. It was plentiful, well done, and ready promptly. It was fairly reasonable in price considering the area. Why just 2 stars? Mainly because of the ignorant staff member serving as food runner from the back of the House. If I wasn't with my wife I'd never have stayed to get my food He should not be allowed to talk to customers because he doesn't know how to. Rude little half pint that he is. Also this establishment does not practice social distancing at all. The bar was packed with people shoulder to shoulder and of course no masks as they were drinking. Because the place is fairly small this isn't conducive to those seated for dinner. Good for take out but at your own peril and if can ignore the rudeness and punky attitude read more

Always busy, whether it's the off-season or a weekend in the summer. Burgers and sandwiches aren't bad, but pizza is the way to go here (in my opinion). Concord is a nice place to watch a game at the bar or get a casual bite to eat with a group. read more

Had to add this the beginning great food awesome service ......Okay one of the hardest reviews I think personally ever had... after walking through a car show of dip s*** expensive vehicles to get to the front door. Apparently not a parking lot should be a drop-off I really don't know what Bentley Mercedes linking I don't care I can get to the front door... I felt like I was walking into a basement, after further research separate entity from the hotel. The hotel has the end of the wing taking away any option for light,,, well needed for the dining experience. I'm leaving this review hoping that one of the two dipshitz that own this place we'll get together and turn this into a phenomenal Peach experience. read more

Typical of the shore, average at best. The service was slow, even on a very quiet weekday in the summer. The food is typical bar stuff, burgers, steaks, wings, fries, etc. Sandwiches go for about $12-$15 and they definitely aren't worth that. They do have a bunch of TVs which is nice for watching a game. Nothing really special about Concord café though. read more

First and foremost, Super friendly staff! Can't go wrong with the service. Dining in is typically a good crowd, depending on season. But the food always comes quickly. Takeout is just as fast. Food is always hot. Beer list is mediocre. The pizza is delish! Probably my fave item on the menu. Love their Boardwalk pizza! read more

The Concord is a "family favorite" when we are in town. Such great pizza and drinks. My in-laws introduced us to "pizza and beer" night here many years ago and we keep coming back. The waitstaff (when we are there in the summer) is seasonal. Usually a college student, always lively, bright, engaging and very helpful. Always busy and full of families, usually with a line out the door. Get there early! read more

Great night tonight at the concord cafe. Best Philly Stromboli that you will get on the island - crisp crust was perfect! Generous filling of steak and cheese plus they added hot peppers on request with a simple marinara sauce on the side. In addition, the seafood Cobb salad was delish with a great kick from the spicy dressing. Great service too! read more

the chances of getting your take out correct are the same of winning the million dollar lotttery. when I called back they just hang up.

We loved hanging out at the Concord cafe bar. Fran the man was very attentive and an enjoyable bartender. He made our stay a great time. There is a food server, however, having a power trip. He was the only negative to an otherwise great family reunion! read more

Won't be going back. The food ( chicken parm sandwich and 2 chicken parm dinners) was dry and burnt. The tomato sauce was inedible. We've been here before and things were okay but no more. The service was rude and distracted. The waiter needs a lesson in dealing with people. We were told we had to wait until 5p.m. to order pasta dinners- it was 4p.m. when we arrived so we ordered drinks and waited. I wish we had left. Why couldn't they accommodate 4 diners when the place was practically empty? Bad business. Bad choice. read more

Awful service and food. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Bartenders are always wasted and the servers could care less. This place is a circus!

Consistently above average. Pleasant servers. Cheese & chicken steaks would benefit from crustier rolls. French fries are tops.

Favorite place for burgers and catch a game on the island. Always busy, but what great place isn't. Most recent glory was the crabcake sandwich. Not too pricey for a place serving on an island that must be built on gold. read more
