This company has wasted an incredible amount of our time. We were interested in replacing an entire houseful of windows, something we did just three years earlier in a previous residence. We are well-educated on the going price of windows. The first salesman spent two hours on a drier-than-dirt pitch that ended with a 33K quote. We respectfully sent him out the door. The next day, a rep called, asking why we passed. After noting the 33K price tag, the rep was flabbergasted. He said, "You're looking at around a 10K job. I have no idea why you'd be quoted so much." He arranged for a manager to come the next day to "clear things up." Said manager spent another two hours with us. In the course of that time, the quote went from 28K, to 15K, to the agreed-upon 12K. (This price was dependent on us leaving them a three paragraph positive review. Who does that?) When we were ready to sign the papers, he dropped the bomb that they were unwilling to finance such a low price. What a colossal waste of everyone's time. The company advertises financing deals. We have excellent credit and were prepared to put several thousand down on the spot. All in all, I'm glad we escaped doing business with a company with staff on several different pages, wildly inconsistent pricing, and the lack of integrity to honor the financing that they advertise. Say away! Predatory pricing. They came out and quoted us for a standard sliding glass patio door, nothing special. The price: $4000 if we signed on the day and almost $6000 if we waited! Really? An almost $2000 difference for wanting a few days to think about it!! We explained we would not be signing on the day (I even told the person that made the appointment not to send anyone out if they were going to do that). The salesman tried to offer us variations on the pricing with financing (which we explained we didn't need) to make the pricing look better, but we knew that this was a rip-off. Two days later, we received a "follow up" call from WindowWorks saying that they would send a Project Manager the next day to "re-evalute" the quote we were given if both homeowners were home (which they insist on, by the way). I told them they should have got the pricing right the first time! That weekend, we went to another (not online) higly reputable door company and bought a beautiful, quality door for HALF THE PRICE fully installed!! Stay away! I wish I had read these negative reviews first. I had an appointment set up for 6pm with this company. Both my husband and I came home from work early to be there. No one from WindowWorks showed up. When I called at 6:15 to see where they were, the woman on the phone gave the excuse that my phone number wasn't working over the weekend so they couldn't call to confirm. Well, I only had consultation with Window Works, the first guy was horrible because he tried to rush me then he disrespected my faith which is a big no no, but the second guy was the manager came out to my house, apologized and gave me a great quote, I have been fixing some other things and was actually getting ready to call Window Works for some final questions before giving them the ok to start measuring for the window I need in the front of my house. My only concern was I am a person that is stuck on the integrity of a company so when my initial consultation was in November, they told me I would get a restaurant gift card which on the commercial was for the consultation, then when the manager came back out in December he told me I would get it too. Now we are at the end of January and no gift card, so that raises flags in me that if the integrity for a gift card is not shown, how can I trust them with my window job, reading the reviews furthers that, so I will start looking into some other companies and get some more quotes. read more

I then received a call from a rep indicating that a second Field rep would come out to speak with me. After that visit I was given a higher quote and they would not honor the previous quote. I called the company to understand what happened and asked for a manager. The sales process takes too long and is a complete waste of time. Don't take the bait on their price match (has to be exact product) plus 20% off deal. First, my particular salesman that came out was wonderful. This is not at all a reflection on him as a person and as a human. However, this company is almost predatory in nature with their estimates. 1. They come in with the attitude of signing a contract right then instead of allowing customers to collect estimates and then make an informed decision. 2. To that point, they try and 'demand' that both homeowners are present at the time of the meeting. Again, this is so that there isn't an opportunity to discuss with a spouse/partner after the estimator has left. 3. When I politely explained that I was not in a place to sign any contract but would still like an estimate, the estimate came in $1,000 higher than any other estimate. More proof that their predatory nature allows for higher charges. This was for a simple storm door replacement. 4. Oh, I was also told that they usually don't come out for such small jobs. Again. Fine if that is your business model but really, why eliminate me from your market base? If you do a good job on my door maybe then I trust you with my windows. 5. THEN, I got a call a week later about 'sending a project manager out' to re-evaluate the estimate. Perfectly fine car dealership tactic. I work from home so whatever. I agreed to have the 'project manager' come back out, but, when I explained that my wife, who works, wouldn't take the day off for a small storm door project, it was explained then that this 'great opportunity' couldn't be extended unless she was willing to be present. Very bad service and commitment. Agreement signed on Aug 23 2016, today is December 27 still waiting for them to install it. The promise was 6-11 weeks after the agreement was signed but its more than 4 months now. Worst part is they wont attend the call and will confirm that they will return the call in few minutes, but you hardly get call back. My initial deposit is with them, not sure what to do now. I contacted Window Works based on a referal from a family member. I was not disappointed! I thought the appointment was going to be rocky as he was running behind, but I did recieve a curtsy call letting me know he was stuck in traffic. Mike Cook was unbelievably helpful, he listened to all of our concerns and answered all our questions. He was not pushy like some people we delt with. The best thing about the appointment I have to say was the demistration and his enthusiasm for the windows, you could tell he truly believes in the product that the company offers. I could not have been happier with Mike and would recommend him to anyone I know. If I could go below the one star I would because of the whole process from start to finish was a total disaster based on the amount of money spent .The windows and doors were ordered in March (5 hr sale pitch) and finally had a majority of them installed in August after months of waiting which is somewhat understandable due to COVID but getting a straight answer on an install date was a big problem. Finally after getting 90% of everything installed the windows looked they were rushed out of production without even having a quality control inspection because there were so many flaws they looked horrible. The miters were bad, there was raw material showing on spots and just to get this somewhat corrected I had to have a service tech spend an entire day trying to fix these issues which were not taken care of until a few days ago. Fast forward to a few days ago(November). Our sliding door and last window were installed after being told they would be here in September. The window was done in a little over an hour and I was told another crew would be here to install the door. They arrived almost an hour late, so just before 11am. I figured a few hours at most they would be done, was I wrong the job was completed at 6:45 that night and looked beyond terrible. I went back and forth with management throughout the day after they pulled one of the two guys off the job to send him to another job site and left the guy on site with out the materials and tools to complete my door. When he returned three plus hours later it was dark and basically they tried to finish in the dark with the use of a cellphone flashlight. The next day I inspected the outside of the door and it looked beyond terrible. The capping was total crap, caulking was bad and to top it all off the door is not even square in the opening and has a "pitch" to it. I am now waiting on a field inspector to go over everything that was installed and hopefully this will be corrected to our satisfaction. I could have gone on about all the misinformation I was given on install dates and production but I won't. As far as this company goes I would never use them again nor recommend them to anyone. Okay my turn. Horrible experience. I called to set an appointment. Was told both my wife and I had to be at appointment which will last at least 1.5 hours (Odd- we are talking about one window). I told the person on the phone that was not possible we are busy people and either one of us can make the decision. They begrudgingly set the appointment. But then I had to cancel the initial appointment and reschedule. No big deal, right? I reschedule. They call to confirm. They ask if both my wife and I will be there. I again said only my wife will be there because I was busy. This time the person in the phone, Samantha I believe, then states I have to be there with my wife or they will cancel. I said why? My wife can make decisions. She says it is their policy that both husband and wife must be there. (After reading all the negative reviews here it must be part of their scripted high pressure sell.) Samantha then got ignorant when I told her its my wife or no appointment. She raised her voice, became condescending, spoke over me and caused me to hang up on her, which is the first time I have hung up on someone in a very long time. My point: if setting the initial consultation is this difficult, what if there was a real issue with the window installation later? No thanks, I will go with a more established company. Update after manager comments: Okay so I did take a look at Better Business Bureau as you suggested I do. You have 42 complaints in the last 3 years. Is that good? I then looked at the guild website. You do have a lot of positive reviews there. But explain this to me: you have 29 five star reviews over a 48 hour period 8/30-9/1 (In other words you somehow have 29 terrific reviews since yesterday.) is that coincidence, and you really have had 29 extremely happy people comment in the last 48 hours on guild? Then i see nothing for a few days, then 22 five star reviews from 8/22-8/24. Is that another coincidence? I didn't look any further. But something doesn't seem right there. read more

Boo to you, WindowWorks. I tried to schedule an appointment for an estimate and was told that they would not even meet with me unless my husband was present. Even after I explained that I am the person who makes all of these types of choices and that my husband could not possibly take an hour and a half out of his day for an ESTIMATE. This is an outdated sales tactic to get people to sign a contract on the spot. I try not to see it as sexist, and "hopefully" you would have said the same thing to my husband had he been to one to call... If you don't think your windows or service are worth it on their own merit and you feel the need to pressure homeowners in to buying your products and services, then I do not want to work with you. You may want to consider different tactics for making sales. It's very off-putting to tell someone basically that you don't think they are capable of making a solo decision about windows. I was able to hire companies to replace the roof on my home, the floors inside my house, the main plumbing to the building and myriad of other home improvement projects and not one time did anyone require that my husband be present for pricing. You and you "policy" are absolutely ridiculous. Don't bother responding with the lie about how all parties must be aware of changes made to the property either. I do not understand why this company is still calling me! This is after I told them I will never ever do business with them because of their shady-pushy sales person. But I'm glad they called again because they now reminded me to finally write this review after time has passed. I called these guys for an estimate on replacing my drafty living room windows and the sales person contacted me right away. I wanted to set an appointment during the time my wife will be home (since I work late) but the salesperson was adamant that I should be there too. I find it offensive because my wife can solely make the decision and she is the one that balances the checkbook and pays the bills. Anyway, I let it go and left work early to be there. Well this Paul Giamatti lookalike showed up really late. I specifically told him since he was late, and caught us right when we are about to have dinner, that I wanted this to go quickly with a quote, a brochure on the windows, and his business card so we can do our homework. He insistent that he go over his long sales pitch. Fine, he spend an hour talking about the windows, the material it's made from, the method of installation and so on. But no price yet! Then he gets up and looks at other windows in our house along with the sliding patio door and tell us that we need to replace those also and that he can include those for a great bundle price. First of all, there was nothing wrong with them and he still will not give us a firm price just a round number. At this point I sternly told him that it was late, my family is hungry, and all we want is his best price on the living room window with his business card. But he still refused to give us a firm number unless we are willing to buy and put a deposit today. What kind of crap is that?! I told him as any right-minded consumer I'm going to do my homework and shop around. But he was still insisting on a deposit and another long @ss sales pitch. At that point I Angrily told him to leave and that he just wasted my time. This is the part that troubles me and I cannot prove it was him. It's been three weeks since our 2 hour window presentation and I'm still waiting on my $50 gift card. I still get calls following up but I tell them I'm not interested and " where's my gift card?" They say it's in the mail it should be coming. So 18 windows that are "standard size" cost $15,000. Really?! This wasn't even the top of the line. Our service guy didn't honor the 60 min time slot and I had a crying baby in my lap. After hour two we were begging him to just give us a price. It was our first estimate so we wanted a base to compare to. He used his sale tactics to delay the price taking up argon gas or what have you and after hour two we were done! We have a large house, with 61 windows. We wanted to work with this company, as their windows are top end. It is an 90 year old architecturally unique home with many french door types, including arches. We signed a $46,000 contract with Tony, our salesperson. The window measurer (David) came and we walked through the details with him. He was honest and said the windows would not work. That the windows written up in the contract were not the types of windows we had agreed upon with the salesperson. That the company did not build arch windows that were under 10 inches, or less than 16 inches wide. So we asked for the contract to be rescinded, and consider doing part of the house, leaving out the ones that were outside of their recommended specs. Their answer is NO. Jim the office manager gets on the phone and says they will get their attorney's involved. That we are out the $10,000 we have given as a down-payment. read more

Overall I am happy with the windows. We bought them several years ago and decided to replace our windows in waves. 3 total installs. We have near 50 windows on our house so this seemed like the most cost effective way to go about it. First wave was 10 of the worst windows on the house. Installation was quick and tidy. It was so nice to have this done. We were happy initially with the look and the install. There were a series of leaks and issues with the windows bowing and not closing properly. All were addressed in a timely manner. I had one window in the kitchen that has never been right. It's difficult to open and close and never latches properly. We had to have most of the sashes replaced due to them being too small inside the frame. The windows were delayed several times due to a switch with manufacturers. The screens let in bugs because they were half screens and didnt seal properly when you open the top sash. They were replaced with full screens. I am overall happy with the job. I am happy with how the company followed up with us. I overall happy with the service and the windows. I am very happy with the staff and service as well. We went with them for their gutter service as well. I could not be more thrilled with them. They are larger then your standard gutters and have larger downspouts as well. One thing that pisses me off is that I was told it was highly unlikely that I would need to clean out the gutters. WRONG. WE have a large locust tree that pretty much covers the entirety of the house (4400 square feet) Those little leaves had no problems getting stuck inside those gutter after a season. Gutter screens are going on.... I like the fact that I have a lifetime warranty/guarantee on everything I have purchased. I will however not be using Window Works for the rest of my windows. The cost was way too high for essentially a window that I can purchase at my local Menards and install myself for pennies on the dollar with a lifetime warranty and glass breakage. We had the most difficult sized windows replaced by Window Works and fortunately everything else in the house is a standard size and I can take care of that in a weekend. read more

We had 5 windows installed in October 2016. Joe was the first window company rep to visit me. He sold a good product and I took his offer. Then after reading all the bad reviews on Yelp, I panicked. It seems that most people choose to submit bad reviews. This is my good review. Two other companies did finally visit and days later I received the estimates. Their windows were way more expensive than WindowWorks and I did not like their windows as much. Then I started worrying if our windows would come in on schedule because of many posts on Yelp complaining. They came exactly 8 weeks like we were told. We have special colored frames which look beautiful. The installer came as scheduled and finished a very neat job in four hours. Wow. I had an estimate done on some windows that needed to be replaced. Howard my salesperson was a pleasant person when I first met him. I let him do his thing and he gave a me presentation of why their products are superior. Fair enough, Finally after some time he gives me a quote. I tell him I'd like to think about the price and I will contact him if I decide to go with them. I will need to get a couple of different quotes just so I know I am reassured I get the best price. He tells me "I thought you were ready to do the deal if I gave you a good price?"...Yes I was ready to jump on it if you gave me a decent price but you didn't so getting a couple of different bids.... He then does a 360 and changes into a lunatic. He starts insulting my intelligence and starts writing down how much it would cost if I did the install myself as I told him I knew how to I just don't have the time right now. Also please don't insult my other windows that I'm not replacing just because your company didn't install them. He said it was a 'shitty install'. Just held my tongue on that one. He eventually stormed off..There's a lot of items in between the lines but this is by far the worst estimate I've ever gotten. I manage a couple of different properties and have gotten many bids and have contracted work before many times. He was pushy, completely ignorant to the fact that I wanted a couple of bids before handing over money (hence the word ESTIMATE), did I say they give the spiel about '1 day special price only b.s.'? I don't write many Yelp reviews, but we just had these guys out to our house recently. I can't comment on the quality of the material or work but the sales person was nice enough and knowledgable, but their sales tactics are less than respectful of a potential client. I was scheduled for "an hour visit" and like someone mentioned here, it rolled closer to 3 3/4 HOURS... he came at nine in the morning and left at around 12:40 burning through most of our saturday. Also, I am trying to do research on pricing before making a decision, this company will HUGELY pressure you on the spot the first time, and offer a lower price that he said he could not guarantee past the first visit. I just got hung up by the SCHEDULER as I was trying to talk to a salesman Eric and the manager that came out to estimate my windows in the Fall. I wanted to get the project rolling but the SCHEDULER, someone who picks up the phone and doesn't even do estimates was reading off a completely inaccurate price. We had very ugly double doors and waited 3 years to get them replaced because we knew it'd be costly. The in home estimate was long, a bit pushy but in the end we proceeded with the purchase. I will never do that again with this company. 1. The install was fast but they didn't send them with the correct lock I purchased. 2. They put up unstained trim them came out to stain it and got stain on my ceiling. 3. The nail holes were not filled in. 4. My door is now scratching up against a screw and causing damage. 5. The glass inside the door shakes when opening/closing. I have addressed all of issues via customer service but the amount of time that I have invested in this is beyond ridiculous. If I could get a full refund and go with a different company I would. I have exchanged over 50 emails, numerous phone calls, etc... this was a very expensive purchase and the only folks I'm dealing with is customer service. They use very high pressure sales wanting you to sign up right then with a 'today only' price. Has been the absolute worst experience that ive had with any company and they dont want to take responsibility for their own problems that has caused me to take multiple days off of work for scheduling dates that didnt even happen and time off for when they have come out. I received their ad in the ValPak blue envelope via US Mail. The ad clearly stated that I could get an exact price over the phone, and not just a rough estimate. I have 5 wndws in my home, so I took some measurements and gave them a call expecting to get a price. Instead, I got some girl who didn't even know that this particular ad existed, and she told me that she was not able to give me any pricing on the phone. Instead, she was adamant that a sales person come out to my home and give me a price in my home. Being that I am not yet at that stage of my project, I thanked her for her time and hung up. I agree with the other guy. They will tell you anything to get a sale. I bought 12 windows from these guys and was charged a huge amount. I did however get 6 years interest free financing to pay for them. Customer service is not educated on windows. She can only advice a rep to come out and take a look. Placed an order for windows and were told they would be installed on July 26th. The installation date was changed to August 7th because there was a back order on the windows, supposedly. We were upset because we are currently rehabbing our entire house and are trying to move our family of 6 into the home by the end of August. The windows are holding up everything. Now, they are trying to change the installation date to August 23rd. When we asked to speak to a manager, they tried to appease us by offering a 50 dollar credit for our inconvenience. What a freaking joke!! Fifty dollars to wait another month without a home to live in. You know where you can stick those 50 dollars My Window Works. We want our windows. NOW. Never again.
