Mike was so knowledgeable and noticed the black mold growing on every one of our windows that 2 other companies didn't even mention when they came out for a quote! He told us about a product to get rid of it until we were able to have our new windows installed throughout our house. He also has more insight about the look and age of our home, and which windows would look best with the way the home was built! We didn't want casement windows, so other company's measured and quoted us for the slide up or down windows and didn't bother showing us another option. Mike was able to keep our home with full view windows so we don't lose the look of our home having a full view to the outside. Their product is amazing and love the heat demonstration he showed us (my kids loved it!) with the different levels of energy efficiency the windows will have. Not only argon but krypton in the windows. No other company showed me that demonstration and he said he will be there on install with his lamp proving his product has every level of efficiency he promised. Other companies said they would put this or that in the window, but you never know, and another didn't even mention the efficiency. Thanks again Mike!! read more

Caution, avoid at all costs! I am talking about the company Window Works. My wife and I are senior citizens living in Romeoville, Illinois. About two years ago we purchased over twenty thousand dollars' worth of doors from Window Works in Bolingbrook. This week we had a minor issue and wanted to schedule someone to come by our home and take a look. We were shocked and disappointed to learn that the company has changed ownership and the old warranty isn't valid. What a way to treat senior citizens who trusted you! Window Works was still willing to send someone out starting at $250 with no guarantee that parts were even still available if needed. The sad part about the situation is we were repeat customers who were happy with the presentation, price and installation originally. Jeff Agonath entered into my home on June 26 and I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own home. If you have Jeff scheduled to come into your home, I HIGHLY advise against it. He was aggressive and patronizing towards me. The full explanation is below: My parents used window works in their home in the suburbs and I saw the good reviews online. I cannot speak to window works as a company, since we decided to not proceed after the consult. Jeff Agonath made me feel extremely uncomfortable in my own home. Jeff Agonath gave a very condescending lecture and explanation of his windows. He paused several times for questions and if I asked a question he would say "that's good, I like when you ask questions". It became apparent to me that I needed to make a decision while he was there and he told me that I "wasted his time" and I "lied on the phone" because "my husband was not available to make financial decisions for me". He pulled out a laminated map which showed how far he has to drive around for his job, and why it would be an incredibly large inconvenience for him to have to return. If I had known that we needed to make a decision on the spot, I would have not scheduled. We have completed several renovations on multiple properties and was never met with such aggression and demand of a decision during the consult. He told me that my "notes were not good enough" to explain to my husband. I am the home owner, which he questioned me about three times in a condensing manner. We were very interested in the product, and we did consider asking Window Works to assign us a different sales person. I was concerned of the possibility that Jeff would return or communicate with us in some capacity during the sale, so we felt it was safer to proceed with another company altogether. Sales guy was very nice when he came out to our house. Product seemed to be quality. But all went south when the sales manager Mike said it would be almost $6000 to replace 2 standard basement windows and a patio door. We are in the market for all new window replacements in the next year or so for a new house my wife and I recently bought, but based on mywindowworks pricing it'd be like a $40,000 + job. If you have money to throw away consider using them, otherwise, run away. UPDATE: I was able to get the work completed on 2 basement windows and a patio door for less than half of what this company originally quoted me and I'm super satisfied with the results. I needed to have the glass in my patio slider door replaced because it was cracked due to improper manufacturing. They came out, inspected and measured and said it would be about 6 weeks. They called to set an appointment after 6 weeks and said the technician would be there between 3 and 5 p.m. When he did not arrive by 5, I called and they said he would be there by 6! When he didn't arrive by 6, I figured that he wasn't coming and I would have to reschedule for another time. Well, Jordan Lynch showed up at 7:30 p.m. Yes, 7:30 p.m. and couldn't have been nicer or more professional. He acted like it was his first appointment of the day! He went right to work and within 1 hour, I had a new patio door and he cleaned up after himself, as well. I have used Window Works several times now and will again because they have people like Jordan Lynch! Thank you so much! read more

However issues with windows arriving in wrong color and not notifying us until day of install when we used vacation days for install-what a wasted day I can't get back, dates of install when windows color was "corrected"-I still think they took them in a back room and spray painted them considering it took 5 months to make them and then 1 month to "remake" them, getting wording incorrect in estimate for patio door. They need to work on management/sales.....period. the installation was great, the windows are great, but otherwise a nightmare and will never use or recommend to anyone. Also, one extra star is for the guy who came out from there to fix their mess. read more

My work was done by Window Works located in Bolingbrook, Illinois. My original contract was signed on October 30, 2020 and my installation date was scheduled for February 2021, but I pushed it back to April 15, 2021. I didn't want to install windows in the middle of winter although my sells representative Henry kept informing me that they install ALL year long using tents to block the cold air. April 15, was still cold to me and no one rolled out any tents to block the cold air. I had my entire upper level windows replaced which was long, long overdue! A total of seven windows--six average size windows and a huge picture frame in the living room. Throughout the thirty two years I have lived here, I have had three other window companies to give me an estimate and I decided to do business with them. Everyone in the office I had spoken with throughout my process were very professional, courteous and nice until I paid in full the day before my installation because I was told by someone that I had to pay in full before the installation date because the installers had no way of collecting the balance, which was the total opposite of what Henry told me and other staff members in the office said. However, she kept insisting and I told her that I could pay it the next day which was the day before installation. When I called back later and several messages were sent to my project manager Michelle to call me back, she never responded. I was told that email messages were sent to her for her to call me back. So my last call I made to the office, that person I was speaking with confirmed that I could pay after installation but I decided to give her my payment anyway. Michelle never returned my phone call. My installation window was between 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. and at 9:35 a.m, I received a call from my installer Mike stating that he has my material on his truck but he has to make a quick run which will make him approximately two hours later. At 11:52 Mike calls again saying he should be arriving in thirty to forty minutes. Around 1:00 p.m. my Guy called him to see where he's at and Mike tells him according to the GPS, he should arrive at 1:05 p.m. but he mentioned that traffic was heavy. Mike arrived at 1:25 and he stated that someone else is coming too, after I asked if he was working the job along and he mentioned that he would stay until the job is finished which will take about five or six hours to complete. His helper arrived at 2:06 p.m. Greg, the supervisor stopped by later to check on his crew and assured me I would be very pleased with their work--which I was very impressed with their work, their demeanor and attitude. They cleaned up really well too. The smaller windows didn't take that long; which were all done by the helper , name unknown; however, it did take longer than expected which left them with the picture frame window which the two of them worked on together. They finished the job approximately 11:30 p.m. I was going to give them two stars because they were so late getting started; however I was so impressed with their work and attitude and all I couldn't do that, I told my guy before they left that I would give them Four stars instead of five due to their four hours tardiness. Yes, I would recommend this company to everyone. The quality of the materials and their workmanship are exceptionally great! Because unexpected things do happen to all of us every now and then; therefore, I don't want to be too hard on them. read more

When I asked for my invoice itemize for tax preposes (windows have a different tax credit than doors) and they informed me that they do not do that. No validity to their pricing. We have had nothing but issues since having them give us an estimate for a new entry door. Originally ordered in October with plans to install it mid-November. They took down the wrong measurements and the installers couldn't make it work in November. A new door was ordered and it was installed 1/24. The installers showed up and destroyed the drywall next to the opening, as they didn't cut the screws on the left side and when they tried to remove the old door, the damage occurred. They sent out a painter, who was clearly not qualified to make the needed repairs. He did a hack job and then had to redo the job. The alarm panel and switches were removed and couldn't be reinstalled until the drywall was repaired. We were expected to get 3 estimates and wait a week for approval. I wanted to have a qualified handyman I trust to make the repairs. The only thing holding the new door in place is the hinge screws, caulking and the spray foam. No other fasteners were used. This was supposed to be their most qualified installer. I didn't note him as being anything but below average. read more

This has been the most disappointing customer experience of my life. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel very much lied to by the company regarding installation time frames. Make sure to get EVERYTHING the sales reps say in writing in the contract and don't expect the time frame that they verbally promise to be accurate or to be honored. It's been 28 weeks since I've signed my contract. 19 weeks since the permits have been in place. Still no windows. I signed my contract on Aug 9, 2021 and was promised installation no later than November. This is the reason I chose window works over anderson, next window, and other competitors. It's now February, winter is almost over, and I still don't have an installation date. The company will try to hang on permit dates as the actual trigger to start the installation timeline, so be sure to get the permit from your city asap. Wish the company would actually mention that early on to give a heads up, but all good. I've also had 3 different installation dates scheduled and missed because the product isn't in. I don't think anyone on the scheduling side actually knows what they are doing. Covid and supply chain issues are certainly existent, but the complete disconnect to scheduling and honoring timelines is really bad business. Just really disappointing to be lied to by the sales team and then locked into a waiting game where the company holds 50% of a large deposit and really doesn't care about complaints from the customer. Wish I had selected Anderson as they were at least honest about how long installation would take and let me know they couldn't promise delivery before 2021 since they take supply chain issues into consideration when providing timelines to their customers. At this point I don't even want the windows anymore. I just want my money back and to work with a different company that I can actually trust. read more

I spent $30,000 replacing every window and door in my house, which was finished in 2019. One of my main 3 panel patio doors randomly shattered August 1st, 2021. Customer service did respond and install of the broken glass was done within 6 weeks (covered under warranty), however the color of the glass does not match the rest of my house. the panel on the left is not tinted like the remainder of my 28 doors/windows. I was told it was because of the age of the windows (only 2 years old)! Then told it's because it's a different manufacturer. I asked for a manager to contact me two weeks ago and still no call. Not acceptable and typical of management follow up from this job and other work I had done. Looking for a resolution to have this replaced with the proper color glass to match the rest of my house. After almost 2 years of having the windows installed. My views of the company have not changed, but I should also comment on the windows themselves. My home being in desperate need of new windows when this was done makes almost any window an improvement. That said, I have noticed things about them. Mainly, in the winters i do feel there is a good amount of cold that still seems thru. Not wind, or breeze, just cold when you approach. But.. in the summer i have noticed that the air conditioning that we are using to cool the house down is used much better. I do not have to turn the temp down as much and my only reasoning is the windows are doing a good job keeping the cold in and somehow keeping the heat out. I called WindowWorks today inquiring about new windows and exterior French doors. The associate asked very pushy questions about whether I was the sole owner of our home. She would not make an appointment because my husband works far away and couldn't be present for their 90 minute presentation. I assured her that I was competent to make a decision on this and did not need to discuss financing as this would be a cash transaction. My cash. She said she still would not make an appointment without his presence. What decade are we in?? To top it off, another Rep called hours later as she understood that I had some issues making an appointment. I explained the previous call. The Business Manager, Kathy, is going on what the advisor conveyed. My husband was there, and cameras surrounded the property. Therefore, I was able to view exactly what happened. The advisor never got out of the vehicle and came to the front door. I expect the same service that everyone else receives to come to the property's front door and ring the doorbell. We shouldn't be expected to stop our busy property management schedule and anticipate your arrival. I never said you don't serve the Westside of Chicago. I'm depicting our experience. What a disaster. This was scheduled as a one day job. Now it's going to take several weeks. They have a girl Taisha that gives the worst customer service ever. Basically she will argue with you on the phone and when you tell them that all of the windows aren't installed. She complains that we couldn't do an inspection but I let her 6 windows were not installed. Nothing but a fight. They mis measured windows and I have to wait several more weeks. They also sent one guy for 2 days that couldn't complete even half the work. Now we have to schedule several more days. Now for weeks I'm going to have half of the house with old windows and new windows. This is before the jobs even done LOL. I hope the score doesn't go down to negative Stars after they complete the work. So far this is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had and I manage hundreds of properties. Buyer Beware! Dishonest Pricing. quoted $7000 for a $500 job. We called window works there was no "my" in front of the name so I don't know if that was dropped so people don't find these bad reviews. Anyway, we called for an estimate. A salesperson came out. We showed him the two window glasses that needed replacement plus a third are that we were not sure needed repairs. He said not need the glass repaired but that all the sections needed replacement to the tune of $7000!!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. We called another company. The person that came out was the actual person that works on the windows. He said the glass needed to be ordered for the windows. He asked for a $150 deposit and the remainder to be paid at completion for a total of $500. By the way that third window we were not sure needed repairs, this second guy said he just needed to snap it in properly and did it right then and there for FREE. Please be very cautious! I am not a satisfied customer. WindowWorks has never resolved why my drapes flutter or why the caulking keeps peeling away. These windows were installed in 2016 and I have had nothing but problems. I am really sceptical about removing the screens to clean the windows because of the difficulty of putting them back on i never had these type of problems with my 35 year old windows. I would never recommend WindowWorks to any of my family or friends. You obviously do not know how to install replacement windows. Perhaps you need a structural engineer to advise you. read more

I love my windows! In 2012 we had 7 aluminum sliding windows replaced with WW double hungs and a bay in the livingroom. We couldn't have been happier! Today (5/11/18) we had another 10 windows replaced. Its so quiet in the house now, we dont here any street noises. The windows are phenomenal, the install crew outstanding, they were prompt, with a terrific work ethic, friendly but didnt waste any time chatting, respectful and NEAT. You wouldnt know there was any work done if the furniture wasnt in the middle of the room! The inspector that showed up an hour after our install was finished, was very nice & knowledgeable. The women in the "Customer Care" center (Michele & Mandy specifically) were great to work with. The windows were done in 7 wks and the price cant be beat! We were so thrilled that when the inspector showed up we decided to make an appt, thru the inspector, to have them come out & give us a price on a new front door. My only suggestion or critism is their scheduling. You need to check & recheck on the date & time, as each time there has been a minor screw-up, (and always fixed by Customer Care), but well worth it for these fantastic windows! read more

I recently used this company based on a referral. I had them replace 4 single pane 1950's windows with new double hung windows. I was charged roughly $500 for each window (that included installation and village permit). When I called for an estimate, they sent out a sales guy and his manager to do the pitch on the windows. They of course pulled out samples of the windows and then did a demo with on energy passes through other company's windows but theirs. Then they offered me a $100 discount if I let them put a sign on my lawn while they were installing. I honestly didn't care and said yes. But the manager had to call the home office to get 'permission' to give the discount. One thing to note though, the manager said he'd be on site for the install so I'd see a 'familiar face', he never showed up. So after the song and dance (sale) was done they said someone would call me to come out and do the official measurement for the windows with a laser. I wanna say it took 2 weeks before they came out to measure with a regular tape measure, nothing fancy. After the measuring was completed, it took about another 4 weeks before the windows were ready for install. The company mailed me the village permit to display in my front window. I was given a time frame of 8am-10am for the install. 2 guys showed up around 8:30am and got to work pretty quickly. They were careful to lay blankets down on my wood floors so they weren't damaged while walking back and forth to the front door. They also made sure to vacuum up the rooms when they were done with the install. All windows were sealed and I do not see any leaks or gaps. My village also came out and gave a final approval on the install. Pro: Quick install (took 3 hours for 4 windows), pricing was right, company pulls permits if you require one, everything cleaned up after install Con: Had to call 3 times to get the $50 restaurant gift card they promise (I didn't really want it, but it was the principle of the thing at that point) read more

We had three quotes for a custom front door. In May 2017 the door was ordered and we were told 4 -6 weeks for the manufacture and delivery. Early August the door was delivered and a partial install. The interior encasement pieces were too short and did not fit. I am certain that measurements were collected (the door fit)? The correct encasement size was ordered and in mid September another partial install. The two vertical encasement pieces were installed and the top piece was too short by 3 inches. I definitely know that they measured before ordering. This is now the 2nd day off of work for an install that should have only been one day. November 4th the final piece was installed. The service man was late but did a beautiful job with the touch ups that none of the other techs did. He covered the nail holes, wiped the glass, installed the top cross piece. We were expecting him in the morning and by the afternoon, I was furious and started calling the customer service. Since it was Saturday, no one was available to listen. I was happy the service man showed up but he was late. The cavalier attitude of the customer service was so frustrating. They did not seem too concerned that I had to take off so many days of work for them to complete the job! This experience left me feeling that the company is not very professional or concerned about their customers. read more
