We had a great experience with Naperville Windows & Doors. One of our windows was blown off our house by violent winds during a thunderstorm. We did our best to seal off the opening with thick plastic and tape until we could get the window replaced but knew that wouldn't last long. One company we called wanted over $500 just to nail plywood over the opening. In the meantime, we called two window companies to get estimates for the replacement. The first company spent very little time and was rather short with us. They offered nothing in the way of covering the opening for the 6-8 weeks it would take for the new window. Then we called Naperville Windows & Doors. Their representative came to our house and took time to listen to us and address our concerns. Shortly after receiving our estimate (which, by the way, was over $1000 lower than the first company for the same window), Don (who I believe is the owner) came out to get exact measurements. When he saw the gaping hole in our house & our makeshift repair, he offered to nail the old window into place and seal the opening so we wouldn't be without a window for 2 months. When we tried to pay him for his trouble, he wouldn't take any money. Very impressive customer service! Needless to say, we chose to go with NWD. When our window came in, Joe came to install it. He was super nice & did a fantastic job! The window is beautiful & very solid. We were very happy with our experience with NWD and would whole-heartedly recommend them. We window shopped for several months, getting 4 bids on several types of windows. We asked for a list of past work and checked out 3 past jobs by ND&W. Were happy with what we saw and signed them up. Very satisfied with the completed work. Their 2 man crew worked hard and finished our job in 2 days, and the windows look great. They took the old windows out, removed old trim to the rough window opening, used water barrier tape on the bottom, installed the new windows and new trim and then clad the new trim with aluminum and caulked. They also used low expansion foam insulation both in and outside to seal and insulate the window opening. No more breezes coming thru the wall! The crew had a lot of experience doing the work which is something I looked for when getting bids. The window you select is important, but so is the crew that will be installing it...the crew that did ours was careful and precise, expertly leveling the windows, etc. And the new trim inside looks spectacular. We had them stain it for us in their warehouse before the install. Beautiful job on the stain and mitiring... This is a smaller company, and had pricing well below one of the big companies that we got a quote from, for the exact same windows. It pays to shop around a bit. read more

I had NW&D replace my exterior doors a few years ago and more recently had them replace 3 casement windows. The old casement windows all developed leaks in the thermopanes that caused a permanent fog. Don came over and suggested replacing them with awning windows. Since the windows are located on the southwest side of the house and get a lot of sun exposure, I opted to go with fiberglass replacements for better durability, specifically Marvin/Infinity Ultrex fiberglass. Their installer, Joe, arrived in the morning and worked 8 hours straight to remove the old windows and install the new ones. Joe was very careful and detail-oriented in doing the work, and it really shows in the end result. Since I used NW&D previously and it was a very positive experience, I didn't feel the need to shop around for quotes. From prior experience I knew the quality of their installation was going to be first-rate and the price was going to be fair for the quality of the product, and I was not disappointed. This is a small operation but they won't disappoint! Their prices are unbeatable! They came in at half the price of Pella and about $7K less than another local place (and that place was offering a discount on installation so their price would've been even higher). Don came out for a quote and he didn't spend an hour giving us a lengthy sales pitch like the other two we had sat through. He did his measurements and was on his way, then we got a call with the quote. The windows took a while to come in because of COVID, but that's how everyone is right now. I waited to see how the window installation held up over the winter. We had all our windows, sliding doors, large picture windows and front door replaced late fall. Don was great to work with...no pressure sales tactics. He is direct and to the point and he will be honest with you throughout the process. His installers (Joe and Peter) are real pros. I watched them do the work and they are precise...no short cuts. If they find some issues that needs to be addressed, they will tell you. In our case, our original sun room window was not installed properly and caused major leaks that rotted the wood around the casing. They suggested getting the framing and the wood behind the sidings to be inspected before they installed the window. Ultimately, we asked around for quotes from other contractors, but decided to work with Peter and Joe to do the under siding work...they did great. I trust Naperville Windows and Doors and if they are still around 20-30 years from now then I'll be sure to look them up again. BTW...we installed Simonton vinyl windows...they're great.
