I would give BDK Door 5 stars for communication, service, fair pricing , and their service tech Joey was a great guy and pretty conscientious. BDK came and repalced our door's tension spring, lubed the rollers and garage door opener track and chain, and moved sensors to meet code. It works wonderfully now. My challenge was that the top on my "collector" convertible has two lubricant stains that I am trying to get out. The first stain was created with the initial opening of the door when spray lubricant from the spring that dropped to the door top proceeded to run in drips over my automobile, including the fabric top. The second happened today, about 4 days after repair, where a large dollop of what appears to be white lithium grease used to lubricate the opener track dropped like a raw egg on my fabric roof. It was at least the size of an extra large egg yolk. On repair day, I did ask a couple of times if I should cover the car and was told not to worry. That one was preventable on my end as I could have added the cover. Today's grease bomb was completely unexpected. If it was not a red fabric roof, and if I didn't obsess over this car and its cleanliness and maintenance, I'd not be worried. As it stands today, I'm searching the internet for the best means of removing grease stains from the fabric roof. These are literally the only imperfections on the car. One could eat off of the engine, for example, and mechanics marvel at its new condition every time it is serviced. 5 stars for BDK, yet one knocked off because of the grease stains. If Joey wasn't such a great tech in terms of timeliness and personality, I'd have given BDK two stars because of the grease issue. At least they tried to provide A+ service. FOLLOW UP: I was able to use a combination of citrus-based degreaser, then Dawn power spray, followed by a hand wash to remove the two oil and grease stains. Success! I was concerned the degreaser would damage the top, yet had nothing to lose as it was discolored from the grease anyway. A woman from BDK called me in follow up yet I haven't had a chance to call her back. I will. The only discovery I made in the last few days is that BDK is not the least expensive provider out there. A friend of mine had a double door with two spring replacements completed for what would be the equivalent of $150 less than my repair, factoring in the additional I paid for sensor relocation. In my opinion, though, BDK is in the business of making money and their pricing and the way pricing was presented is fair. read more

Garage door spring broke during coronarvirus pandemic. Called BDK and they came immediately. Had a problem with previous homeowners hitting the garage door and causing a very weak spot. The tech took a bracket off his truck and fixed the weak spot without even asking. Dual spring replacement and bracket very very reasonable price! So much happier now with my door. No more noise opening and closing when my spring was the real issue but he diagnosed and corrected all issues. I called BDK Door after a spring broke on our very old, very heavy wood garage door. The technician came out the next day on time to take a look, but had to come back later to weigh the door. The owner called me to talk about options, stating a torsion spring system could not be installed because there wasn't enough room, but they could replace the existing springs. He was supposed to call me back a couple days later but never did. I called the office and the woman who answered was very apologetic and told me she'd make sure he called me. He never did get back to me, so I took my business elsewhere to Affordable Garage Door in Carol Stream. And in fact this other business was able to install a torsion spring system for less than BDK was going to charge me to replace the old springs. I wasted a lot of time waiting on BDK Door. Had a broken spring on my garage door and within 3 hour hours of calling the office. A service technician came out and was able to fix it with in an hour. He let me know that I had frayed cables and a broken hinge on my garage door also and repaired those. That way I didn't have another service call in the near future. I asked him a question about the garage door opener, about my remotes not being able to work as far as they used to. He told me that it would be in my best interest to take the LED lights out of the garage door opener because it was interfering with the frequency to the remotes.
