My wife and I were not sure if we wanted to try and repair the door or purchase a new one. Ed came out and we immediately had a good feeling. He noticed things wrong with the door right away. Explained what needed to be done and the future risks. He never pushed for us buying a door, instead we asked him our options. Ed was kind, professional and patient with us. He showed up exactly on time. We had other similar quotes but chose to buy with Ed. read more

A+ experience with these guys. I wanted to get some maintenance work done (replace basically everything but the doors) and the quote was extremely reasonable - nearly half of what another company quoted me! On the day of the job they were very communicative and arrived on time. The job went smoothly and Ed took some time to show me how to properly maintain the doors to help extend their lifespan. Overall very professional, informative, and highly recommended! read more

Same day service, clean looking install, my door had never worked quieter. I would recommend them, and already have.

Cranked my garage door in a backing up mishap. Got ahold of Mo real quickly. Now he's up in Schaumburg and I'm in Naperville, but he still helped! He has a buddy who he came up together with in the garage repair business who is local and who he got out to me within less than an hour, amazingly, and that gentleman was really good and fixed the door in record time! I cannot recommend Active and Aladdin enough! read more

Encountered my garage door not opening, and after further investigation found that the garage spring had snapped. Went to yelp to get several quotes, as I needed this fixed ASAP and Active Garage Doors was one of the first companies to contact me within minutes. They provided a very competitive quote for same day service and we set up a time when they could come out, within two hours of my original request. Technician even reached out when he was running late, much appreciated, and not needed. When technician came out, was able to view the issue and provide me with information on how he would be fixing the door and what he would be doing. After a short time, garage door springs were replaced and he let me know he checked the door and opener and everything was in great working condition. Great same day service, cannot recommend enough!! read more

After emailing them through the Yelp app at 7:30 pm, Active Garage Door was at my home the next morning to assess my inoperable garage door. They provided upfront pricing for repair and replacement options and were extremely competitively priced when compared with three other quotes. Best of all, the new door was installed the next day. In less than 48 hours, Active assessed, provided digital estimates, and installed a beautiful new door. This is a top quality local business, staffed with knowledgeable experts in the field, who stand behind their products, installation, and service. read more

Mo did a fabulous job. Very helpful through the process. I rated at 4 stars because they had to reschedule.

Messaged them last night and was able to come in and change my garage spring the following morning. Great at explaining why the spring broke and educated us on proper maintenance, definitely recommended! read more

Repaired my door opener when others said it couldn't be fixed and i would have to get a new door opener.

We ran into some issues with our very old heavy wooden garage door, tracks and springs all of which had all seen better days. We reached out to Active, as well as a few others garage door companies, for estimates to replace it entirely. Active responded quickly and scheduled an onsite visit. Ed came out and took a look at the door and let me know my options. There was no upselling or excessive sales pitch--just to the point information about the products and work offered. Ed answered all of my questions and walked me through the estimate, which was sent to my inbox, before he pulled away. Unlike other companies, I did not feel like I was being nickel and dime'd. While most of our quotes were within a similar range, Active stood out with just how personable, patient and knowledgeable the team had been from the moment we reached out. When we were ready I gave them a call and they came out that same day and replaced everything within 2 hours and left no trace, other than the door, that they were even there. Highly recommend. read more

I called Active Garage Doors at 9:20am on a Saturday morning and got the owner Moe on the phone. I explained that my garage door was jammed and only able to open about 4 inches before getting stuck. He asked a couple of questions then explained that he would definitely be able to fit me in on Monday but that he had a tech currently in the field and would reach out for the tech's availability. Shortly after he called back and told me that he himself would be out in 30-40 minutes. Moe arrived on time and examined my door. He found that both sides of my spring had snapped. I had told him the chain had started rattling last week. He explained that one side of the spring had probably let go last week causing an imbalance that caused the rattling and the other side had let go that morning. Moe gave me the option of replacing the spring with the same type that we had that was good for 10,000 uses, or an upgraded spring good for 20,000 uses. I chose the upgraded spring and Moe got to work with replacing the spring and testing the system. The work was completed and Moe left around 11am, about an hour and 40 minutes from my initial call. Not bad at all for a last minute call on a Saturday morning. I highly recommend Active Garage Doors. read more

Could not be happier with the job they did. Our garage door and opener had literally been kaput for almost 20 years!! Sad but true. We incorrectly envisioned that it would be a crazy expensive, messy, and long project to fix. We were so wrong, because we called the right company. Moe responded immediately and had us up and all installed within a week. His team was only here for a few hours. It was even terrible rainy weather and they still got the job done and we're the nicest guys on top of it all. Great pricing, no pressure, showed up when they said they would, and did a fantastic job. This is a no brainer folks...give Moe a call!! read more

Garage door spring broke, inquired with Yelp message after hours to Active Garage Doors, immediately I got a call from Mo, scheduled for a service call the very next day. Mo promptly arrived at the scheduled time, explained to me the cost of service and what needed to be done. Very reasonable prices. He quickly installed a new spring, and also help me replace a keypad which was not working for a while with my other garage door as well. Very neat and professional work. I highly recommend Mo and Active Garage Doors for all your repair needs. Thanks Mo! read more

I rarely post a review, but thought so highly of the team at Active Garage Doors that I would make an exception. I always use Yelp and other reviews to get a sense of which companies to avoid and pursue, and Active lived up to the hype. Contacted late on Wednesday, and they were able to come Thursday morning. They were timely, very communicative, courteous, and completed work in short order. Would highly recommend and will use again for further maintenance read more
