Encountered my garage door not opening, and after further investigation found that the garage spring had snapped. Went to yelp to get several quotes, as I needed this fixed ASAP and Active Garage Doors was one of the first companies to contact me within minutes. They provided a very competitive quote for same day service and we set up a time when they could come out, within two hours of my original request. Technician even reached out when he was running late, much appreciated, and not needed. When technician came out, was able to view the issue and provide me with information on how he would be fixing the door and what he would be doing. We ran into some issues with our very old heavy wooden garage door, tracks and springs all of which had all seen better days. Spoke to Mo about my problem with my Garage and when he came to my house he diagnosed it really quick and began working. I asked him if he can also replace a my seal and replaced it on spot without hesitation. I called Active Garage Doors at 9:20am on a Saturday morning and got the owner Moe on the phone. I explained that my garage door was jammed and only able to open about 4 inches before getting stuck. He asked a couple of questions then explained that he would definitely be able to fit me in on Monday but that he had a tech currently in the field and would reach out for the tech's availability. Shortly after he called back and told me that he himself would be out in 30-40 minutes. Moe arrived on time and examined my door. He found that both sides of my spring had snapped. I had told him the chain had started rattling last week. He explained that one side of the spring had probably let go last week causing an imbalance that caused the rattling and the other side had let go that morning. Moe gave me the option of replacing the spring with the same type that we had that was good for 10,000 uses, or an upgraded spring good for 20,000 uses. I chose the upgraded spring and Moe got to work with replacing the spring and testing the system. The work was completed and Moe left around 11am, about an hour and 40 minutes from my initial call. Not bad at all for a last minute call on a Saturday morning. I highly recommend Active Garage Doors. read more
