Highly recommend. These guys are GREAT! They were super knowledgeable and kind, took their time to patiently look for the right blank for the odd keys we brought in. They successfully found what we needed based on some deep legacy knowledge - no key kiosk can do that. So glad we stopped by! read more

Action Lock & Key - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Roselle, Illinois

We've used Action Lock and Key several times over the past few decades, and their service has always been outstanding. They've installed several door handles, including electric door lock handles; rekeyed our locks; duplicated keys; and helped us with car key fobs. Every time, they've been polite, quick to help, organized, and clean. They're easy to work with, incredibly responsive, and top-notch from start to finish. We're grateful for their reliable, efficient service and highly recommend them! read more

Everything went well in working with Action Lock & Key. I called asking for someone to come out to my home to rekey the locks of my outside doors. Stephanie showed up early and she worked quickly and efficiently. She left me with the four copies of my new house keys as I requested. The price for the work they did was fair. I would work with this company again in the future. read more

100% We had a big, stupid problem with a doorknob. We called Action L&K. Mike was dispatched, and came over immediately when done with an appointment he was on already. Could NOT have been nicer. Very, very competent and efficient. Fixed the problem quickly and perfectly. Could NOT recommend Action and Mike more highly. read more

These guys are great. I purchased a new Kwikset handleset for our front door that did not have the standard thumbpiece mechanism, instead the handle just slides down to open the door. I sent a text to the gentleman I spoke with over the phone and Mark and his team reviewed this brand new handle type and decided to assign their most seasoned residential locksmith to the job to ensure it was done correctly. AJ came out and did a great job of installing the new handleset so it was centered properly and level. He even took the time to adjust the door so it closed/sealed better than it had, and he completely cleaned up his work area. After he was done, he explained what he had done and how the the handle functions. Really nice guy that took pride in his work. read more

Great friendly customer service and super fast. Highly recommend. Reasonably priced too!

They do not rush through the job. They make sure everything in good condition and explain what they did. Friendly business.

I have a nice set of office furniture that contains, among other things 3 file drawers. Im going to be moving soon and couldn't find the key for these 3 file drawers. I checked with Ace Hardware and they couldn't find anything to help me. They did recommend Action Lock & Key in Roselle. I have had them change locks on doors in my house. So I took one of the locks from the file drawer and asked for their help. The fellow behind the counter was more than helpful. He examined the lock and was able to make me not 1 but 3 keys for my furniture. The price was very affordable and the service was very quick. I highly recommend this place for any lock work you may want or need. I told the fellow as I was leaving that he is an angel because he bailed me out of a difficult situation very doable. Any lock work you may need done I recommend you call them or go there in person if there's a key situation. Make sure you let him know you think he's an angel t barbara marchand Elk Grove Village read more

What a find! Friendly, and knowledgable professionals. I had a problem with a door handle, brought it in and they fixed it in short order. They didn't try to upsell me on a new one either. However, if I need a new one in the future, I'll be going back to get genuine quality service at a fair price. Highly recommend! read more

Outstanding company!! Best locksmith ever! Prices are beyond reasonable. Mark helped me initially when I called and he's fantastic! Vince came to my house to change locks and rekey. Vince is great! He checked everything. No shortcuts! He's so pleasant and a great person. I'm so glad I have a locksmith to call when needed. Highly recommend!! read more

This is the best and most honest and knowledgeable locksmith I've ever known in my 48 years on earth. I brought my master key for our church there, and he said that it was off, and that he could realign it, which he did. I brought in my old key, and he gave me a new realigned key that he made for no charge. I brought it back to our church building, and there was no more giggling and maneuvering the key anymore. It went in like butter. The door opened so easily. I went back and ordered a dozen more keys to replace the old ones! The price was incredibly reasonable, almost too low! I won't need to go to any other locksmith. By the way, they are so friendly and kind. They are a one of a kind business. I wish they all operated this way. So grateful. read more

I called Action Lock & Key because they were local and had great Yelp ratings and I was glad that I called. I first spoke to Mark and he was very helpful and professional on the phone. I needed to change all the locks on my new home and made an appointment. On the day of the appointment, AJ arrived on time and very quickly went to work re-keying every door lock -- including my patio door. AJ was courteous, professional, respectful. He explained what he was doing throughout his time in my home. He tested each lock and key as well. AJ completed the job much quicker than I anticipated. Thank you!! read more

Look no further if you are looking for a reputable and knowledgable locksmith. Action Lock & Key fixed issues with my doors that I have been dealing with for over a year. The contractor (or more appropriate would be "handy man" after my experience) that did some remodel work for me installed my new door locks and they never worked correctly. They insisted our problems were relative to an uneven doorframe from building settling, but Action Lock & Key fixed the entire mess in no time. I will recommend Action Lock & Key to everyone I know and will never use another locksmith. If in need of a locksmith, don't hesitate. Call them now. You will not be sorry. read more

Joe showed up on time, wore a mask and protective shoe covering, was very knowledgeable, took the time to explain everything to us, and he did a great job on our front door, inside garage door and sliding door. I highly recommend Action Lock and Key, and especially Joe. Great Experience! read more

The best locksmith service around. Reputable, honest, and fair. A long track record and makes sure you're taken care of.

Action Lock and Key has been a life saver for me since I was 14. I lost my house keys, a lot! And they've come through again. Great business and even better customer service. Wonderful experience. Thanks Vince!! I highly recommend. read more

Mel did a professional job taking his time to make sure the job was done perfectly. I happen to read reviews on this company and selected them based on those reviews and I'm glad I did from the price, thoroughness, professionalisms and attention to details made this a worthwhile experience. I'll be using these guys for all needs concerning locks. read more

They're so good here. Honestly. Our condo association uses them for keys and they are helpful, kind and knowledgable. The shop is clean and the hours are okay. The location can be hard to find if you're not familiar and I am pretty sure the GPS was wrong the last time I looked. But I've never had to have them redo a key. We've been visiting for quite a few years and I have no complaints. Bring cash though because unless you need a heck of a lot of keys, you're not going to meet their credit card minimum. read more

Great Locksmith; re-key your locks, purchase locks, get keys made here. Very experienced group of guys.

I took my old pay phone to action lock & key, because the lock would not work. Two of the locksmith took it on as personal Challenge to make it work again. After oiling banging on it For 30 minutes , They got to open. The phone was patient in 1898. After all that they told me no charge. They liked the challenge. Thank you to the team at action lock & key. read more

Mike was great and very helpful! He was able to assist us within 5 minutes and was able to open my safe that i lost a key to! Thank God for Action Lock and Key. read more

Had 3 locks re-keyed at my place of work. Third lock, Joe was able to fix it enough to use and replaced the insert part of the lock ($20), it is a door we never really use. Excellent customer service. Rare now-a-days. Did all locks without disturbing our working environment and was done quickly. Will be contacting them again, when we get new doors. Would give 10 stars for the work and great service, which began with the man that answered the phone when I called, Mike. Thumbs up! read more

We bought a townhome recently and found out that the sellers never gave us keys to the inside garage door. The knob was the original knob from the 70s, so it was too difficult to replace ourselves. I saw a recommendation for Action Lock & Key, so I called them up this morning. They said someone can be there between 11 and 1, and Mel called me and showed up a little before 1pm. He replaced the knob and installed a deadbolt as well. He did a great job and the door is working great. Highly recommend this place! read more

They helped me retool several locks to be keyed alike. They suggested bringing in the tumblers of the locks instead of having them out to save money. $10 a lock. Didn't take long and everyone worked perfect. Thanks. read more

Here's useful info. No clowning this time. Action Lock has done all the work at our house over time. I finally got around to having new pass-through handsets (door nobs) installed upstairs. Andy the owner asked me to look at how the bolts were seated. Would the doors need any chiseling out? Or were the mounts simple? Stupid me. I only looked at the two bathroom doors. The six other doors WOULD require chiseling. Vince and AJ showed up to do what should have been a 30 minute job. It took closer to two hours. They had every right to adjust the estimate upward. They didn't. I asked them to let me pay more. They were firm. No, it's not necessary. Vince is an artist with a chisel and razor blade. These were not cheap pine doors. And there was zero room for error. He had to hit hard--but with finesse. Feeling his way with each door. The work is flawless. read more

Reasonable price, and very friendly customer service. I ordered a steel door replacement. Got schedule for estimate in couple days. Got the quote in about 5 business days. Got schedule and door installed by the next week. Very promptly response to customer request and did very nice installation job. Action Lock & Key did what promised on time.. read more

In September 2018 sold me and installed a $324 lock for the back door of my small business that only has 4 people using it M-F. Lock system jammed in May 2019 (not even 8 months later) without any damage done to lock in any way. Service person came out and fixed in 10 minutes without having to replace any parts. Informed me some parts may have needed to be tightened in lock. Then presented me with $155 bill ($90 labor + $65 service call). When I called Action's office in regards to the $155 for repair on a new lock less than 8 months old and talked to manager he said 'installations are only warranted by us for 3 months'. Told me I owe them the full $155. On a new lock less than 8 months old that had no damage done to it by us and/or no damage that they could find in the lock. Pretty bad customer service. read more

Needed locks changed at my unit at the last minute. I have been coming to this place for about 26 years. Thankfully, I don't need its services more than once every few years. But whenever I do, I always think of Action Lock and Key first. My last experience is much like other visits. I have a little crisis, and one of the guys performs magic. My last visit, I had a key break off in half. Part of the key was stuck inside my motorcycle locking gas cap. The key was removed, and somehow, a new key was made from it. Service is great, the guys behind the counter are awesome, and prices are very fair. read more

Great people and great service would recommend anyone if they were in the same predicament. They arrived sooner then I was told thank you again read more

I was having trouble with my front door locks. The keys were not gliding into the key holes smoothly and I was having to force the keys. I figured I would need to have someone come look at the locks and have them repaired. I gave Action Lock & Key a call and spoke with Andy. I explained my situation and he gave me a few options. I took his information and started by giving the key holes a spray of Tri Flow. Surprisingly, my keys now glide right into the key holes. Problem solved! Andy helped me out while sacrificing the revenue he would have made on a service call. For that reason I will make sure that if/when I have any future lock and key issues I go to Action Lock & Key. They earned my business! read more
