Next replaced 3 of my doors about 15 years ago. 2 of them are now rotting They do not stand behind their products. I've contacted multiple times and all they want to do is sell me new doors. They may be fine at installation, but they do not stand behind their warrant. read more

On 7-24-25 Brian M, our Sales Rep and Frank with his crew promptly arrived at 0700 hours and began the removal of a living room window and installation of the new window. Brian, being a member of my community was within distance should we need him. Frank and his crew were the best that I have ever experienced. Due to unforeseen structural repairs the job was completed the next day. After the crew finished, they completed the clean-up of the exterior and interior. Immaculate. We just completed our second project with Next Door (second floor windows a few years ago, first floor + patio door now). The quality of product and level of service is outstanding and not something always seen in the home improvement business. They made some great suggestions on design (for instance changing some casement windows we rarely use to a picture window instead. Communication leading up to install was helpful. One little thing we noticed was when the workers in the truck went to leave, they walked a lap around the truck in our driveway to pick up any scraps, trash etc., moved the truck forward 4 feet and then did another lap to make sure everything was clean. Having recently replaced our roof with another company we were finding scraps, screws etc after that company left so this was a welcome attention to detail. read more

Provia entry door and storm door installation We contacted Next Door and Window after doing a deep dive research on the web on an installer other than Feldco Windows and doors. I wanted someone that would install the Provia doors to perfection. I called Next Door and Window and was immediately in contact with a sales person. I gave them all my specs since we already knew what we wanted because we had recently cancelled an order with Feldco windows and doors. (After signing the contract, I cancelled them because of bad reviews from a family member). My communication with NDW was pleasant. A project manager was assigned to our project as well. We didn't have to sit with a salesperson because as I mentioned, we already knew what we wanted. We chose the Legacy steel door made by Provia and the storm door. The salesman was not pushy or overbearing but very informative about how to get the pricing down to a reasonable price within our budget. After several emails, we finalized on a price and was given a date within 2 weeks when the measurement team would come out to make final measurements. We were informed that our timing was perfect for us to get doors before the winter months would set in. Fast forward to October 26, 2023, The truck arrived with our new doors and the installation person (Zach) arrived 30 minutes later. The work started at 8:30 AM and finished at 1:30 PM. I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive about them sending out only one person to do the install. But after it was all done, I must admit it was done properly. l asked the installer why he didn't wear a mask while dealing with older buildings like ours (1952) , but he couldn't really answer why. I still think it's a lot of work for one person, even after the work has been done. The install went well with the exception of a slip of the tool that caused a dent in the door way facing upward towards the top. It's not real noticeable and was fixed with a touch of glue and touch up paint. Then the big pile of saw dust he left outside which we had to clean up. I'm not sure how that was missed. But again, I think it's too much work for one person. . The quality and finish of the doors are stunningly superb. Totally impressed overall. If not for the slip of the tool and the saw dust we had to remove I could give 5 stars. But instead I give 4 stars. no regrets. Total price, $7,766 after discounts. read more

We were in desperate need of new windows. After 10 years of just dealing with the heavy breeze coming off of them, it was time. After a bunch of research, it looked like NEXT had what we needed. I sent an email, got a quick reply, and had a salesperson out withing a few days. Salesperson explained the multiple options. Found out what I wanted, really didn't work for what we needed. Happy to get educated. We signed some contracts, made ad own payment, and waited for the measurement guy to come out and finalize the dims for the windows. This is a nice step. Making sure everything would fit. Then it took about a month-ish to get the materials in and get a date we could have the work done. The day of installation, the workers showed up a little early to make sure everything was good to go. Again, appreciated. The workers got the job done, cleaned up, and were their way. In all the process went very well. Now we don't have an active breeze inside. And even better, they got the windows in before the nasty cold snap of Jan 2024. All in all, NEXT did us proper. From the initial contact, to the Salesperson, to the Measurement guy, to the Installers. All seemed competent and professional. It was much appreciated. Thank ya NEXT. read more

This review is only for the customer service/pre-sales experience. We had an initial appointment and in-home estimate back in May 2022. We were impressed with the sales pitch and I went into the showroom to go see the samples. They offer beautiful products and the presentation is impressive. I had to go to the showroom by myself, as we had two sick kids and my husband stayed home to care for them. The sales rep promised to send a final proposal/quote via email so I could review with my husband and make any modifications before our final decision. Two months have passed, and we have yet to receive a quote. First, the office manager contacted me to follow up on my experience, and she said she'd follow up with the sales rep to get that sent over to me ASAP. Nada. Then the sales rep followed up with me via email and asked if I had any questions. Again, I told him I never received a quote. Nothing, no response. Then, a few days ago another person from the company contacted me via text and asked if I had any questions. AGAIN, I told them I never received a quote, and he told me they'd send it over ASAP. Nope. Well, we actually signed a contract with another company a few weeks ago, because we wanted to get something on the books ASAP since the lead times on product are so long right now, and we wanted to get the doors installed before it got cold again. But, with that last text, I was curious to see if they'd actually send anything over, just for the heck of it... and my hunch was correct. They didn't. New doors and windows cost a pretty penny. They are not cheap, and it's an important investment that requires reliable product and proper installation. I was concerned about doing business with a company that fails to just send over a proposal. What if there's an issue with the doors? Will it takes months to get a response or any help? I'm sure that if NEXT were to complete our project, they'd do a good job. But I suppose I'm happy for them that they're doing so much business that they don't need ours! read more

This review is ONLY for the customer service. I never purchased any windows so I don't know how good they are or aren't. The customer service was extremely poor. Couldn't get call back from the sales rep I was assigned to. This happened in Spring/Summer 2020. It's like I was ghosted. I would call and the person forwared my info on to the sales rep and he never got back to me. I even emailed him directly. Nothing. Finally, over a month later I was able to make contact and get my questions answered. Fast forward to this year (2021) I wanted a revised quote as we were initially considering fiberglass windows. I just wanted revised numbers to look at vinyl ones. Again, the person said they would forward my message on to the sales rep and I have yet to hear anything. This was over a month ago now. I'm done. Horrible experience! Two windows, which totally costed around $15000, were installed to replace old windows at the end of March. One of them started to leak when heavy rain happened two weeks ago. Yesterday the company sent someone to our home. He used water hose to spray on the window for ten minutes and did not find the leaking cause. Then he claimed that the water leaking from the window is not related to their installation, even though we provided the videos and the old window did not leak before. So ridiculous! Right now I have to do the research by myself how to detect the leaking window. LOL. read more

Great Company and outstanding service. I have taken way too long to write this review for a company that deserves infinite praise. First let me say I think it is very important to be honest & give good feedback so you praise those that deserve it and for those who done; you give them feed via Yelp so they can improve. This company is fantastic! They replaced all of my windows and patio doors on two separate visits - 6 months apart. The salesman (Amer Khan) was very knowledgeable and identified all of the things that needed to be done. He also identified we were missing a header over one of our patio doors which we were having problems with for years! They installed the header which corrected the problem we were having during the installation process. The windows and patio doors are of very high quality and we are very happy with their performance. We went with the Marvin wood windows and they are great. As you can image no one job is perfect but when a problem did arise, they came back as needed and fixed or change things quickly and effectively. Their customer service is outstanding!!! I had pointed out a problem I was having with my storm door even though I purchase it many years ago from a competitor - not only did they order the parts; they fixed it at no charge - really? Yes! The salesperson even dropped by during the install to ensure all was going well. I just can't say enough about this company and when it is time to use them again they would be my first and only call. read more

We have spent about $80K on windows with Next Door & Window on replacing all our windows and some doors. Each experience got progressively worse. Sales people make promised they can't keep, project managers don't communicate well, timelines are not kept, and installation had problems (like forgetting to put the handles on the windows). Disappointing all around. I'm not sure why we kept going back. We are now waiting 30 weeks for our current project because they "didn't know one of their vendors went out of business". After all the money we've spent, I wonder if it will ever get finished. read more

Roberto came out to our home to provide a quote for some windows and doors. He was very polite, friendly thorough etc. we expressed we were interested in Sunrise Restoration, he wanted to tell us about the Marvin Infinity line which we were open too if similar in price, but still requested a quote for both items. He invited us to the showroom to see the window in person, we were told we had to see a quote in person. They could come back to the house or we could meet at the showroom. Which no other installer we met with required. We were trying to stay within $20-25k. He said he thinks he could get close to that number with Infinity. My husband especially did not want to spend 2-3 hours on a weekend to go see a product that was way out of our budget. It would be a waste of everyone's time. Roberto agreed to send the quote over which was for $48k, that is not anywhere close to $20-25k. This is why we wanted to know the price ahead of time. We are not sure if the company does one of the high pressure pitches to get you to sign immediately in the show room for a "better deal." Lastly we were told we would be provided a quote for Marvin Infinity and for Sunrise Restoration, we only got a quote for Marvin, when sunrise restoration is what we called inquiring about. It is great to share information on an additional product and share your opinions, but I still think what we (customer) request for both should have been respected. We have had 10 quotes, and no one else did this in my opinion it seems like more of what corporate requires them to do Vs individual salesman. I obviously don't know for sure as I don't work there but it is a hunch. It just seems disrespectful of our time to come to the house and then not provide a quote for Sunrise. read more

New patio sliding door looks great and works well. Next door has excellent installers and sliding doors at different price levels. Initial sales meeting at my house was very professional, educational, and the price was competitive. All workers wore masks and I felt safe. The only reason for not 5 stars is that after the 1st sales person, i had to go through about 4 more different people and each time it seemed my order was wrongly requoted, delayed, or miscommunicated. So just be patient and verify that you get what you ordered. the company did give me $100 off for my troubles. But compared to 3 other companies, Next door had the best products and service. read more

I had someone come out Saturday to give me a quote... I need all new windows and a sliding glass door. He took a bunch of measurements and was there for about 2 hours to discuss the window he recommended and left without giving an actual quote just said he'd email it over on Monday or Tuesday... It's now THURSDAY, still no follow up call or actual quote... The other companies gave me a quote right on the spot AND have followed up with me at least once since they've been out... I left a voicemail for your sales rep and STILL no call back OR quote... I guess you don't really want my business after all... I had said I wanted to sign a contract this week with whomever I choose and I still don't even have the basic numbers from you... Any sales person or company that isn't even going to do a simple follow through or get you information promised in a timely matter isn't exactly one I care to do business with... read more

We had all our windows, twelve in all, and a sliding glass door, replaced by Next Door and Window. We went with the Sunrise vinyl ones. On the sales side, Michael wasn't pushy and he was knowledgeable about his product and his competitors. He brought to light some flaws in others we did not initially see. We ended up visiting Next Door and another store twice; we went with Next Door... they were less money and we got some really cool features with their promo. The only downside was waiting for them, it ended up taking 2 weeks more than estimated, but that is beyond their control. I felt I had to call them to chase up the manufacturer, which they promptly did. Installation day (3 actually) finally came and I am very pleased. The work these guys did was awesome. Their were meticulous in their tear out and installation. The guy with the saw is an artist! He built the frames and mounted the trimwork outside in our driveway and the result was a beautiful installation. The quality of materiials used was topnotch... clear pine with no knots! none!. The crew's lead guy answered all my questions ; I'm sure I was quite annoying. I highly recommend them. read more

Today I called for service on my patio door which will only open halfway. I was told we were out of the 5 year window and would have to pay $100 labor. My wife and I went to the Next Door and Window location in Naperville last evening to begin our search for windows. We had went to many other places trying to get an understanding of windows and their differences. The gentleman who helped us was by far the most knowledgeable and helpful person we have met. He gave us insights into the different windows we are considering and in a very balanced way provide the pros and cons of each type of window, features and the different manufacturers. I rarely have an experience that wildly exceeds my expectations but this did. If you are in the market for windows I believe you should go no where else. read more

5/17/2018 - I'm changing my review because after working/meeting with Justin I'm very happy with the service and windows. My friend came over when Justin offered to come himself and see where the problem was. Bottom line my friend liked what I had. He and Justin showed me what the other windows would look like (I'm a very visual person). THEN I saw the difference and accepted the windows installed. With that said....I would NEVER recommend the salesperson I originally had at my home. Peter (installer) and Ralph (came back for the caulking) were O U T S T A N D I N G! My friend commented on the wonderful workmanship Peter did on the windows. Ralph (today) couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable in his explanations AND workmanship. Run, they are horrible to work with, salesperson order the wrong windows, took over 6 months to get the correct order, the installation was poor they rushed and had dents on the new window frames and walls (that needed plaster). I had to keep contacting them about windows, never reached out to remedy the situation. They stated they would work on refund for the inconvenience which I was expecting 10 to 20% off due to the hardship they they will only provide $150 check - the windows costed over $20K. I had new windows and patio doors from, Next Door and Window, installed a few days before Halloween in 2018. While the upstairs patio door was being installed, the installer told me there was a problem with the screws for the door handle. The handle, both inside and out are very loose, feels like it wants to fall off. The installer told me it was no problem, I would get a follow up call in a few days, just mention it and it will be repaired. 10 MONTHS LATER IT STILL HASN'T BEEN REPAIRED. Like an idiot I believed the installer and waited for the follow-up call that never came. So a few months later I went on Next Door and Window's web site and filled out the contact information about the problem I was having with the door. I RECEIVED NO RESPONSE FROM THIS. Then a few weeks later a village inspector came to my house to look at the finished job. He told me he was going to give Next Door and Window a failing grade , because he felt the outside of the family room window had not been caulked correctly. So I emailed Ed Ellison directly, he was the project manager on my job. He replied back the Art Lehman; the service manager would be contacting me immediately. I HEARD NOTHING So I emailed Ed Ellison again. I HEARD NOTHING So I emailed Ed Ellison again. This time I finally received a phone call and made an appointment for a service man to come out and address my door and window issues. The service man came out, looked at my door, said he didn't have parts, he would order them, looked at the window, said the village inspector was wrong, and left. He might have been here a total of 5 minutes. I begged him not to let this fall through the cracks, he just laughed at me. That was 17 days ago, and I have heard nothing. I can only assume I never will. It truly amazes me that you can pay a company $20,000 for a product and they turn around and treat you like crap. I first had NEXT out to replace one window in my house that needed replacement and had a good experience. So when it came time to replace more windows I decided to go with NEXT because of my previous experience. In total I had 11 windows replaced on my second job with them. Well things did not go as well as my first experience. The initial install of the windows went fine no issues at all. Fast forward to today and 7 of the 11 windows are experiencing installation failures. A failure rate of over 60% not good at all. Since the window installation is under warranty I called to have the issues dealt with. So I schedules an appointment for the windows to be repaired. So a week later a tech from NEXT shows up to look at the windows and document the failures. By show up I mean he showed up on a Saturday with no call before to confirm appointment or anything. So times passes and as we get closer to the scheduled appointment date another tech shows up to look at the windows again. The tech also showed up without an appointment or phone call, luckily someone was home. So scheduled repair appointment date comes and nobody shows. Given their penchant for not calling to confirm anything I reached out to NEXT again. Turns out the Service Manager changed our appointment date without consulting or informing me at all. I had been patient with NEXT and their lack of communication but this is ridiculous. I asked to speak to the company owner since the Service manager was less than helpful, the Service Manager said he would pass my contact information along. Needless to say it's been over two weeks and no call from the owner or anyone from NEXT. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in the company and there level of service. read more

Made the mistake of using Next again for window replacement. Sales rep tried to modify our contract after we signed it so make sure you watch for that. Installation was poor quality, They left huge gaps around the moulding, huge gashes in the drywall around the frames and never came back to patch and paint as they promised. There is an air gap in one window I have to go caulk myself this Spring. Edited to add they called six months later, only after my review, to say they would come out and patch and paint. They didn't care when they left my house a mess, only when they got a one star Yelp review. Wish I could post the pictures of their shoddy workmanship so people knew to avoid these people. They put large moulding around the windows to cover up the large gaps they leave behind because their "custom" windows don't fit after they hack out the openings. Then they don't bother to caulk or paint the moulding. read more

The sales came to my house with a smile on his face quoted me front and back doors. Prior to his visit, I did have a quote from Home Depot but I heard that this company may do a better job and offer better choices so I decide to give this company a try even if I have to pay little more. He quoted me front door was around $7200 and the back door was $3100. Home depot quote was $6000 and $1400. I think the front door quote was fair since it is more complicated and different choices can be different in prices. however, the back door was standard design and size. The moment that I mentioned that I had a quote with the Home Depot the sales immediately change his tone and attitude 180 degrees. "good luck with Home Depot" the salesman replied. I then told him that his front door quote was close and fair. he then replied with an attitude " I must be doing something wrong if my quote is close to Home Depot" The salesman is getting ready to leave and doesn't want to discuss further. This company only want to charges you premium prices and they do not want to hear your comments and quotes from other companies. read more

Naperville salesperson came out, spent almost 3 hours at my house mostly talking about his wife, and her projects around their home. He kept pushing me to buy vinyl windows when I told him 3 times, I wanted Marvin windows. I have about 25 casement windows to be replaced, and he said to quote this job would be an extraordinary undertaking, but he would try to complete it within a weeks time. After two weeks I had not heard back. In the meantime I started getting "follow up calls" from the company asking me if I was ready to purchase windows from them. I repeatedly told them I had not gotten a quote yet. I was assured someone would be getting back to me soon with that quote. I finally decided to call in and ask for a manager to find out why I still haven't gotten a quote. The response was, this salesperson has NEVER done ANY thing like this before, and he is one of their top professionals. ok whatever...can I get a quote please??? I received three calls from 2 different (supposed) managers that day promising they would follow up and provide a quote within 24 hours. It's been a few days and I've gotten nothing! Since I never got a quote I have no idea how much money they lost by not providing even a minimum of customer service. read more

This company seems reputable, but I think they are definitely geared towards a "higher-end" clientele. We had a salesman come out and give us a quote for an entry door, fire door (the door leading out to the garage), and sliding glass patio door - and the initial total was around $12,000. We were just looking for some standard doors for our starter home, so I was shocked at how high the cost was! Thinking we were in over our head, we went to our local Home Depot for a quote and selected very similar doors as a basis for comparison - their quote (including installation) came to $4,500. The salesman was very nice and professional though, and the products he was selling seemed to be high-quality. Unfortunately, I don't think he understood that cost was a factor for us. read more

TERRIBLE customer service and terrible quality control processes. They made a mistake with the glass cutouts for my door and they have yet to fix it 5 weeks after the door arrived, and they have not proactively followed up with me on the issue. I have to be the one to keep calling and texting them. When I do finally get a person on the phone, they make excuses and then they promise me they'll look into the issue and get back to me in a day or two. They haven't kept a single one of their commitments to follow-up with me or to fix the issue. The irony is that I actually caught the issue for them when they sent me the contract. It didn't specify the name of the glass I requested so I asked the sales rep to modify the contract to include that. He said that's just the way they write their contracts and he assured me the glass I requested is what would be in the door. After waiting 4 months for the door to arrive - you guessed it: wrong glass. Turns out the glass I requested isn't even available. The sales rep blamed it on an out of date catalog and completely dismissed my point that if he had written the name of the glass on the contract as I asked, the issue would have been caught earlier. I get the feeling that once they get your money, they could care less about you. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the installer did an excellent job and he actually seemed to care about my satisfaction. read more

I have to say everyone I spoke with at ND&W was pleasant. However the first issue started with the original appt for an estimate that had to be rebooked because ND&W double booked their sales rep. Second, I left a vm on the sales rep cell phone after the initial appt (I was not present because of the reschedule) regarding a couple of questions but never received a call back. I followed up with the person who rescheduled the appointment 1.5 days after the vm and she had the rep call me back within a few hours. The salesperson was apologetic and answered my questions. We agreed to have him email over a digital contract for the purchase. About an hour later I received a call from the sales rep who said his original written quote was incorrect. The price he quoted was too low. The new price was ~12% more, which is fairly substantial when it is a several thousand dollar purchase. After all of the aforementioned issues I could not justify moving forward with ND&W so I can not speak to the quality of their work but can say they did not have it together during my experience. read more

Next Door & Window's prices were competitive compared with other higher end companies that offer high quality windows and doors. Depending on the type of your home, I would recommend not go cheap with your windows and doors. Ron from Next Door & Window was not pushy and did not offer crazy "buy it today prices" like some others did. He was professional and knowledgable. The actual installation process was easy. The workers came and finished their work on schedule and on time. They are also professional and left my home clean. There were couple details that we weren't 100% happy about but Next Door & Window was very courteous and fixed those right away each time. You pay for what you get.
