Very good experience - I found Monique to be very helpful during our consultation and their construction/install team the most amazing and professional crew I've ever worked with. The job spanned 2 days and included retrofits on several windows, two large sliding doors and new construction of one window which required cutting out part of my stucco wall. We had outstanding service from Window Factory. We completed our window replacement in two phases: Phase one was the replacement of bedroom and bathroom windows, and phase two, 8 years later, included replacing two sliders and the windows in the living room, dining room, and kitchen. On both occasions we had an excellent experience, from the decision-making/measuring/ordering meeting through the installation. They even took care of securing the necessary permit. Everyone we dealt with was polite and professional. What a difference those new windows make, in the efficiency and the updated look--and the resale value. Be sure to check the warranty information on your replacement windows. This year one of the seals on a bedroom window failed. We called Window Factory for instructions on what to do next. They asked which window it was, and told us they would contact the manufacturer, and to expect a call back from the manufacturer in a week. The manufacturer called us and set up an appointment for a week later. Much to my surprise, the window rep arrived with the proper replacement (Window Factory had provided the manufacturer with the ID number for that specific window), and the window was replaced in less than 15 minutes! Had two Anlin sliding glass doors installed (one with built-in dog door). Excellent quality & what a comfort difference on hot days, it was hard to sit next to the old glass door during afternoon sun. Molly visited our home & explained the product & procedure. The installation crew did a top notch job, checked for dryrot, rubber threshold barrier, properly installed vapor seal top & sides, generous use of silicone sealant, excellent finish trim outside & inside (no knots). On a visit to Home Depot I checked the price of the outside trim, $40 for a 12ft pc (no wonder I buy wood with knots!). read more

we had 11 windows changed out yesterday from single pane clear glass to the Anlin 3 E windows. I can't believe what a difference it makes...already!!! yesterday and today are quite hot and the front of our hot is usually very hot... I replaced a sliding glass door with a French door. I was worried about the process because I didn't want to replace the stucco. The process from beginning to end was seamless. Marleen, the salesperson, answered all my questions and researched answers and pictures from past projects to help calm my nerves. The installation team were simply wonderful! They are a well oiled machine and payed close attention to detail. They protected not only the stucco but the entire inside and outside. There was a small dent in one of the caps. I told the team there was no need for a redo. However, I got a call a day later telling me they had ordered a new cap and would be replacing it. Marleen made a follow through visit with sweet bouquet of flowers for me in hand. I would recommend Window Factory without hesitation! After getting three bids we selected the Window Factory for replacing seven windows and two doors in our home in San Anselmo and have been very happy with all phases of this project. Marlene, our salesperson, was thorough and patient (we changed our minds a bit and definitely had a learning curve to climb on all of the materials choices). She was far more thorough and followed through flawlessly on any issues to ensure we made a well informed choice. She also worked with Rachel, one of the owners, to make sure their prices were honed to be competitive as possible - head and shoulders above the other sales people. Once we selected the Window Factory, Jose came in and did the measurements and worked with me on concerns I had with some of the structural discoveries I had made in advance of his visit. He made good suggestions about how they could be addressed and we came up with a solution to accomplish the repairs at the same time and Rachel again stepped into work out acceptable terms with me on the additional work. The windows came in on schedule and the work was completed last month. Jose came with a team of people and they worked two and a half days to complete the demo, repair and installation. Their work was top notch and the finished installation was not only beautiful but very well done with great attention to detail. We are very happy with the results. If you want the cheapest install, they probably will not be your choice. Not the most expensive, either. I had a reasonably good experience with the ordering and planning of the window replacement, but at the end of the project I found the owner to totally lack any customer service skills. She actually yelled at me about my different understanding regarding the finishing. She made no offer to resolve the problem until she had repeated herself several times in a very aggressive way. I got 3 bids but preferred Marlene's friendly and reassuring style as she walked me through the entire process, building a sense of trust in the company and her team. Scheduling was tricky on my end, but Rachel patiently worked with me in spite of my wonky schedule. I appreciate that--more then they probably realize. Emails and phone calls were always answered in a very timely manner and everyone was professional, with clear communication from beginning to end. On installation day, the crew arrived and the first guy to talk to me had a big smile on his face and a wonderful attitude. What a great way to start the day! This is our 2nd project with Window Factory. WF replaced some frameless trapezoids a few years ago and that went very well. This time, WF replaced 6 big (3.5 x5.5 ft each) single pane glass panels in our livingroom with double pane frameless windows. Few vendors carry frameless windows. Frameless costs more but keeping as much of our bay view was very important to us so even though the thinnest framed option would only take 18 inches away on each side and cost less, it just was not an option once we mask taped the old ones and saw what effect frames would look like. We are very happy with the quality of our new frameless windows (and no more glass sweating come winter, more energy efficient and less fading). WF prices are very competitive amongst frameless vendors. The office kept us posted on the status of our order given covid. The installation crew was organized (scaffolding was involved), clean and followed covid protocol. Plus WF is a local business. read more

Having spent many mind numbing hours looking at adverts on the Internet I finally decided to just call Window Factory. Rachel answered the call and I simply said I am looking for double glazing and really don't know anything about the subject. She immediately set my mind to rest and I agreed to Monique visiting my home to talk about the subject. Monique is a lovely lady and extremely knowledgeable - like Rachel she set my mind to rest that I could trust Window Factory to look after my interests. One more thing that I really appreciated, was that Monique does not use hard sell tactics....a tactic that sends me in the opposite direction. I chose the windows and she took basic measurements of the 10 windows and gave me a price (that didn't change) that I thought was true value for money. She arranged for Marcello to come and take final measurements which was another stress free experience. The great day arrived and Marcello and his crew arrived with my new windows!! I asked him whether I could move any furniture or aid in putting down drop cloths but he just asked me to relax and let he and his crew take care of everything. They were simply amazing, worked very cleanly and left my home seven hours later in the same clean fashion they found it; with the exception that I now had beautiful new double glazed windows. I can tell you that calling Window Factory is one of the really best decisions I have taken in life. Yesterday this company installed five replacement windows at my house in less than four hours. The work crew couldn't have been more polite and respectful -- not only in words but in deeds. Meaning that they left the site absolutely spotless after removing and reinstalling my tricky blinds. I didn't have to do a thing. The complete price of the windows and installation was significantly less compared to the quotes I received from their competitors for the same level of quality. (And I did my homework in researching and comparing the specifications for different types of windows, as well as comparing the prices for installation with complete warranties for parts and labor.) The reason that I asked for a quote from Window Factory in the first place was because of their good reputation, and I can say that they lived up to it. Monique, the salesperson who came to my house was knowledgeable, credible and reflected what seems to be the company philosophy -- "no nonsense, no phony sales pitch, while guaranteeing a reliable installation for a very reasonable price". Other reviewers have cited Marcello who was the leader of the work crew that came to my house, and he was indeed excellent. I also spoke several times with both of the owners, Rachel and Jacqueline, and received from them nothing but courtesy and accurate information. Of course, you'll have to do your homework, but I'd be surprised if you could find a better price for the windows you choose at the same level of honest, reliable service. read more

While I was really looking forward to having the new windows, I was also dreading having the work done, as having construction work and repairs always makes me nervous. I was surprised at how smoothly the installation went and felt at ease with the workers. What a bunch of great, considerate and polite guys. They worked as a team and cleaned up after themselves. Ordered 3 doors. Took almost 8 months for the project to be completed. - Door 1 was ordered incorrectly, so Doors 2 and 3 were installed first. Hardware for Door 1 was accidentally installed into Door 2, which meant holes were drilled incorrectly into Door 2 and a second new Door 2 had to be ordered (Door 1 is a front door with a regular handle, Door 2 is actually a set of French doors with matching lever handles - i.e. completely different) - New Door 2 arrived. Old doors removed, then they realized the factory did not drill holes for the hinges. Foreman tried to drill holes himself, and cracked the door. Door 2 had to be re-ordered a THIRD TIME. - Door 1 is a single front door with 2 side-lights (windows on either side of the door). Screws were used, with about 8 visible drilled screw holes. I asked for screw covers. This took several more months. I glued the screw covers on myself and painted them to match the front door. Not a big deal, but when you pay over $10K for 3 doors, you expect them to do the job. - After installation of the trim around Door 3, my back fence could not close. They did not mention this. I discovered it later. When I complained, they just carved out a piece of the trim around the door, which looked terrible. (After they replaced the trim, we shaved down the latch and the fence closed just fine) - Lots of other smaller problems such as not putting my patio furniture back to where it belongs, not keeping me in the loop as to when doors were ordered/arriving, leaving dusty trails in my house.. They did give me a discount in the end for all the problems, but we've had a lot of work done on our house and this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business. read more

After carefully consulting with other six (6!) vendors, I recommended the HOA I belong to to opt for Window Factory to get all the windows of our building (130+) replaced. The HOA virtually unanimously approved the choice in June, and barely three months later we all got our new windows installed. During this time period, Molly managed to pull the permit from the infamous Department of Building Planning in City in order to get the new vinyl windows approved and grandfathered in with the most stringent fire codes. This was short of a miracle: everyone, including two of the city "experts" I personally talked to at the walk-in counter on Mission St kept telling me that the City would have never approved of vinyl as acceptable material for our new windows. But due to the large number of windows, we could not have afforded other materials (such as fiberglass) that are deemed acceptable in a "historic" neighborhood like ours (our building, however, is only 22 years old). None of the other vendors would have accomplished this result, mainly because none of them would have had the patience and negotiating abilities that Molly clearly showed to master (I'd see her as the Hillary Clinton of homeowners trying to get anything done in this complicated city). Moreover, Molly and owner Rachel tackled every single step of the project with incredible attention to details and painstaking patience in listening to a myriad of requests by several owners, always coming up with a reasonable solution that would appease everyone (and reassure me, as I was the point person on this project). Once all the preliminary aspects were taken care of, finally the order for the new windows was issued to the manufacturer (Anlin, in Fresno). The new windows arrived barely a month later, and installation was started the day after Labor Day, to be completed without glitches (as the comment before this one states) in just ten business days. Now we are all enjoying these nice new windows, much better looking than the older ones, and the remarkable acoustic (and thermal) insulation they provide. I would not hesitate to recommend Windows Factory to whoever has in mind a window project. The ladies that run or work for the company (I should also mention Jaclyn, more on the operational side) have demonstrated competence, attention to the details, responsiveness, tact, willingness to meet demands (even when in contrast with decisions made at HOA level) and flexibility in adjusting working schedules that I strongly doubt can be found in any comparable other company in this market. Not only that, the warranty and post-installation service they provide is similar if not better than the service offered by more glitzy and expensive contractors. And did I mention that? They also made us save money, partly thanks to the scale of the project, bargaining certain costs with the manufacturer on our behalf. What else could we have begged for? read more

We asked these folks to contact us to arrange for a quote through the web site of the BBB, explaining we needed two windows replaced. Never received a response. When we called we were told they have a four window minimum, so apparently they ignored our request because we weren't a big enough customer for them. How hard would it have been for them to simply send an email explaining this? Samuel Johnson said "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." Very terrible customer service... we were quoted for one price and Molly was going to try and see if she could get us a better deal. She said she was going to call us back the next day, no call for 2 days. So I decided to call back and she told me the price that she gave me could not be honored, that her computer was not updated with prices so the price skyrocketed over a thousand bucks... so I ask her if they can honor it and she said no, very bad service given we were quoted a price that she gave. I wouldn't want to do business here given they did nothing to honor what we were quoted on. read more

Just to give an update. The windows were installed in the summer, before the rainy season. We are on a hill with picture windows that get the full brunt of wind and rain, and I didn't want any leaks. Our neighbors had similar windows installed by another company, and experienced multiple leaks requiring two window installs. Needless to say, I was a bit concerned that we would experience the same fate. Well, after two big storms, the windows have held up very well. Two-thumbs up. read more

Nice people to work with. But they don't pull permit from city and didn't consider I have an HOA to work with. The estimator didn't match my window style with the other units. My HOA complained, and I have to do those two windows again. But even after those fact, still good price and nice people to work with. read more
