After entrusting this local family business with replacing our skylights that were almost 20 years old and had a few craze lines in them we were put through 6 months of construction hell. Their team walked all over our tile roof, without remorse even though it was (in their report "a few cracks" and left us with what the roofer then called "a bag of smashed potato chips". Over $30K worth of roofing damage and repairs had to be performed from their NEGLECT, in which their insurance company did cover, but over 4 months of heavy construction to re-roof numerous sections (and sadly a new color of tile, due to availability). 6 months later, we notified Dotto (Keith) about our skylights starting to crack, in numerous places, after several more emails he came out and took photos saying that he was going to contact the manufacturer...never heard from him, then several more emails after the cracking became worse, in which he said he was still waiting to hear back from the manufacturer but he requested more photos (more on that lie later). Long story long.....He said the manufacturer stated this was from some "chemical" that must have been used inside our home during our remodel...mind you the remodel didn't even begin until 6 months after the skylight cracking was reported and photos were sent to him, so that is entirely false. I did contact the manufacturer directly who was very knowledgeable and interestingly enough said he had never been contacted by Dotto glass until the day before, not 3 months earlier as Dotto assured us he was waiting on him and then requested more photos.... What DID happen that is absolutely the cause (as I reported to him) was the installers were frantically trying to install them on the day of installation and I witnessed them down/up and on the phone for almost the entire day carrying one piece up and down after another scratching their heads...is they were trying to place them in the WRONG order (the smaller one needs to go on first, but is hard to see) for HOURS and many back and forth and up and down (hence the potato chip roof they were not concerned with) to finally figure it out. After speaking to the manufacturer, and he confirmed that indeed these materials are sensitive and can only be cleaned with neutral solutions...I am confident they had to use solutions that day to remove their many many fingerprints from their puzzle playing that they were not aware would cause this reaction. Nevertheless, Keith after offering to pay 50% of the cost of the windows, when we responded we expected our payment at this point in full, then decided he would not issue a refund at all as the release of liability after the roofing damage their company caused was signed would protect them from all the damage they had done, including to their very own windows they charged us for. A year later, these windows look 10X worse than the 20 year old windows they "upgraded", our roof now is mismatched with tile color and I feel obliged to be sure that nobody else earns this companys trust, that has no integrity in treating people fairly, standing behind their workmanship or taking accountability for their actions that actually cause damage when they charged you for a high quality product. Shame on you Keith Dotto, do better for people that trusted your company with their money and home. As a small business owner I will always cheer for small business owners and understand when things are out of our control or situations occur that require a redirection. This entire situation is just fraud and misuse of professional trust and I feel others should know they don't deserve their trust or money. read more

Dotto did a great job repairing a few windows in my houseboat. I waited to leave the review until there were some heavier rain storms to see if the window still leaked, and it's dry. They were very professional and responsive. This was a tricky job given they had to work from a work float, and the window was overlooking the water. read more

I have an old sliding glass door leading to the backyard, which wasn't opening well - super heavy to lift, broken door. Most companies and contractors were suggesting we just replace the door. Dotto Glass came out, evaluated the door, determined the rollers were cracked but could be replaced. They scheduled the work about a week later, and had the door fixed within 2 hours! It was also a very reasonable cost, especially compared with replacing the door. Dotto Glass is great! read more

Six stars if that were possible! We finally replaced all the immense single-pane glass in our double-A frame Eichler with double-pane low-E glass, and Dotto did the replacement at 1/3 the cost of a nationally known window company. Not only was there tremendous cost savings, Dotto's approach is much a better solution for Eichlers. Preliminary and then precise measurements were quick (none of our square windows are exactly square), and then a few weeks to wait while the glass panes were custom manufactured. Installation took a day and a bit, and then done with no problems. Benefits are not only much more stable temperatures in the living room (hot sun no longer has an effect), but less glare, and significantly reduced noise! Even when those strong Lucas Valley winds are blowing, we can barely hear them now. Can't wait to check out the performance in the winter cold. We'd already replaced all our windows and sliding doors a long time ago, and installed a foam roof, both of which are great. Installing double-pane low-E glass is the capstone project for Eichlers. You won't regret it. Plus Keith and crew are all nice people and local. read more

Amazing experience. Dotto Glass is a family business. One of the owners came to our house to fix our 40 yr. old coffee table-top. He took it to their shop for several weeks to get the brass screws out that held the old cracked glass. Today both owners brought our table back. It is a beautiful heirloom thanks to Dotto Glass. The table weighs several hundred pounds so moving it was not easy; over the years the brass screws had fused to the metal sides of the unit. Update on my November 2022 review: during the heavy rains this Spring, one of our newly installed windows sprung a leak. We contacted Dotto, who sent out Steve L. to inspect the work and diagnose the problem. He immediately owned the problem, and came up with a temporary solution while we waited for the sills to dry out. Two weeks later, Dotto came back to re-seal the leaky windows (sills now dry). I was deeply impressed that there was absolutely no argument as to who was at fault, the company owned the problem, and they were committed to making it right. How unusual in this day and age. We had a plate glass window fail at our residence. Dotto was one of the few firms able to source a replacement and provide installation services. The window was heavy and large (approx 10ft x 10ft) and access to the site was difficult - limited by trees, steep grades and a narrow street. The Dotto team sourced a portable crane and their team did a fantastic job with the installation, and the window looks great. There were some challenges throughout the project. It's easy to give five stars to a company when everything goes perfectly and there are no curve balls. But for us - the test of a company is how they respond when things do not go perfectly. Keith, you must have us confused with another customer. This isn't an issue of condensation. According to your representative the problem is is defective glass with a film that obscures our panoramic view. At one time the manufacturer was going to replace the glass, this never happened. Our sliding door was almost immovable because of settling around the frame. Two other contractors said they couldn't do it without taking the entire frame out. Was told that it will take 5 business days and got a call on the 4th day to inform me that it was ready and scheduled the delivery for the next day. The driver arrived and was very courteous. I had opted for the curbside delivery and was pleasantly surprised that I got help carrying it in. This is usually a service that you pay for and requires installers to handle the glass but since the piece was not that large, the driver was willing to help. I bought a tabletop firepit and when it arrived, it turns out that it would need to fit down inside an umbrella hole - which my table does not have. I called Dotto and talked with Regina. She was super knowledgeable telling me that my outdoor table was likely tempered glass, so a cut would not be possible. Avoid if possible. We had numerous issues with measurements and scheduling the glass orders. We were also over billed for labor and an attempt to make it right was not sufficient. Their install team was good but overall found the administrative team, technicians who do the measurements and owner to be unhelpful and disorganized. And over priced. read more
