We had a disappointing experience with Wesco. Wesco made us 18 premium window screens plus a screen door in 2018 for a total of $4K. We have non-standard windows so they all had to be custom made. It was a smooth experience, and they were professional. We just asked them to quote us for one more window screen, and they wanted to charge us $666 for the premium version and $475 for the lower-end version. We understand prices increase, but this seemed like a huge markup for one window screen. They also were not friendly when we asked why the screens are so much more expensive now. We wanted to be repeat customers but will take our business elsewhere. read more

I have just had two door screens replaced. They fold into themselves. One was a single door the second a double door. I found Wesco to be extremely friendly and professional and very easy to deal with. My new screens are great and replace ones that were installed many years ago. These are superior as they do not rely on magnets to keep them closed so when the wind blows they remain firmly in place. I work as a professional handyman and have been referring clients to Wesco for years. I will no longer do that though. I recently dropped off 3 screens to be replaced for a client and called in a separate order giving them the dimensions for a 4th screen. First, they called and said the screens were done but when I got there they admitted that they made the screens the wrong color so it was a wasted trip. Second, 2 of the 4 screens are the wrong size and they charged my client an extra $25.00 per screen to correct their mistakes. Third, they're using clip springs which make the screens too long so I have to modify the clips in order to get them fit. My client is not happy and I will have to cover the additional costs, plus the cost of the extra trips. read more

Growing up, I often heard my mom lament that "the only time we fix anything up is when we're about to move". The implication here was that crappy was good enough for our family but certainly no other family would tolerate it. If I have the same situation going on in my own house it's unintentional. Sometimes you just live with things and fail to see how they look to an outsider. Years ago, after some home renovations, a rat got into my house and before you could say "kill that motherf***er" it had eaten through several of the screens on my sliding glass doors. They were patched unprofessionally, years passed, and now they were falling apart. Still, they were just screens and they were (more or less) doing their job so they were easy to ignore. One day, on a neighborhood message board, a neighbor posted a question asking for referrals to screen replacement places. It took this and a couple of months before I suddenly thought "hey, I need new screens". I wasn't moving on but if I were, any realtor would've told me to replace those screens prior to trying to sell my house. Enough back-story. Wesco was recommended by a few respondents, often in the same breath as "they're not the cheapest" but when I tried to reach what I believed would be the cheapest I found that the first appointment was more than 1 month out. Never mind that I'd lived with these crap screens for more years than I'll admit to; I needed new screens NOW. Wesco answered my call, set up a reasonably soon appointment, arrived on time, followed up the next day with a written bid, checked back in a few days later, and I scheduled the job. They might not have been the cheapest but there were a lot of screens involved, they were efficient and respectful of my time and their commitments, and now I have brand new screens and I'm not even (yet) planning to sell my house. I can enjoy them. It's a rarity these days to reach an actual live person on the phone let alone one who responds, schedules an appointment, shows up, and follows up. That rarity is Wesco Screen. After installing my new screens the owner remarked that the only issue he could foresee would be walking right into the new screens as the mesh he'd used was so transparent it was practically invisible. Right he was, as I spent the weeks which followed wondering who had walked through the slider without closing the screen. My father ordered a screen repair and due to Covid and him being part of an at risk group, he waited until he had the vaccine to pick up his screen. This took about four months and during this time he kept the manager updated on his status and let her know he would be picking it up as soon as it was safe for him. Today I came to pick it up for him and as it was 20 minutes after close the manager came outside aggressively and condescendingly turned my away claiming they were closed which I had not realized. I apologized and left. She texted my father tonight to let him know she had recycled his screen and to not bother coming in. The lady who works scheduling and billing told me during our installation process over the phone that they would be taking the price of our screen door off due to it taking them 5 separate trips to get it installed. When I called to finalize the bill for the other work she went against her word and said that conversation we had never happened. Screens are good quality & installer was very nice. The process with Wesco started great. Got the product, retractable screen, got it installed, all good. Then had a problem with the screen mesh coming apart, and the process went south in a hurry. Took a while to get someone out. Communication was the problem. I was even willing to take it down myself and bring it in. I tried. Well, that was more difficult than I imagined. When I finally did dissembled it, it was a mess. I brought it in, said "keep it." But the owner called me the next day, made an appointment and came out to the house. He replaced the entire product with a new screen, and apologized. No cost. I was shocked. Absolutely shocked. This is a company that puts customers first. I can't pay them a higher compliment than that. Justin went above and beyond. For that, when I need screens in the future, this will be the only stop. read more

I've always been a super satisfied customer of Wesco for screen repair and general customer service, but this week I was blown away. My handyman dropped off some slider screens for repair. He picked them up and paid the bill. Following the holiday weekend, I received a call from Wesco that they had inadvertently overcharged me for 2 re-screens, when infact I had 1 re-screen and 1 wheel repair. The message said "we want to know the best way to refund the $75 difference." That's beyond good customer service. That's a business with integrity that deserves 6 STARS! read more

We had Wesco install a number of rollaway screens for our French doors around the house. We had Phantom screens in our prior house, but Wesco offered an alternative product that was similar in form and function. Justin explained the overall product and process in great detail from the start and ended up doing all of the installation work as well. We found him to be super professional and very friendly. We are happy to report that so far, we are quite happy with the screens and the quality of the installation. It's also nice to know that if we ever have any issues, Wesco is a simple call away. Wesco installed 6 custom window screens and a screen door. The window screens have been great. If we hadn't had all these issues with the screen door this would be a 5 star review. The screen door was installed a year ago. After it was installed there were obvious issues with the installation. There were several empty holes in the framing and one in the face plate. We later found the missing screws on the ground. The framing didn't look right and the door wasn't level. We called wesco to come out and fix it. We were told we had an old house and there was nothing to be done. Fr The door has a pneumatic door closer, which would be great except the door will not close on its own, we have to lift the door up a little to get it to shut. We also have to lift the door up to lock or unlock it. The handle broke a few months back and we told Wesco about these issues. They came out and replaced the handle, but everything else is the same. Won't shut on its own, hard to open and close and almost impossible to lock and unlock. I called today to see if they could fix it. The staff person said they can come out in two weeks and replace the handle again. This time we'd have to pay for the fix because it's been over a year. A friend has a screen door from Home depo, installed 3 years ago. The door and installation were much less than we paid for ours and hers actually works with no issues. So I asked Wesco to remove the door. They offered a "deal" of $150 to remove the door they didn't install right and never were able to fix. No thanks Wesco. read more

We dropped off our sliding glass door screens for repair. We were told two weeks which we thought in normal times was a little long but in light of Covid 19 considered acceptable. They were unable to give us a quote for the cost when we dropped them off. Two weeks later we called to check on the status and were informed that it would be another week to two weeks. After another week (now week 3), they still had not started on the repairs. We decided to pick up the screens and look for another company. When we picked them up, they didn't offer an apology or an excuse and seemed to care less that we were taking our business away. read more

Wesco Screen's customer service is terrible. I had a retractable screen, that they installed, that got jammed. The service man came out and looked at it and said it would cost $500-$600 to repair it (which I thought sounded high). I finally agreed to fix it and they cancelled two service calls on me and the third one they never showed up. I found out that they forgot to order the part. At that point I said forget it and called someone else that came immediately, said the screen could not be fixed and ordered me a new one that is far superior than what I had. It cost less than the original Wesco one and I received excellent service and have now got a beautiful, retracting screen door that works!! Will never use Wesco again. read more

Built into a wooded hillside, our multilevel home had lost some important screens over the years. We hadn't realized how this loss had affected the air quality until a close relative came to visit and recommended trying to get better air circulation. He didn't put it in so many words, but what we realized was that the house was stuffy, and we needed to get some fresh air back into circulation through replacement of those missing screens. We chose Wesco Screen based on Yelp recommendations. The office scheduled an appointment, and Justin came out and took measurements for installation of 2 sliding door screens and seven window screens, and went on to design a way to add a swinging screen door to extend the circulation of air from the lower levels of the house through to the large window in the garage at the top of the building. His idea was a win win dramatically improving the circulation of air in the entire structure. He estimated the time it would take to make the screens and gave us the projected installation date. Everything went like clock work; Justin installed the missing screens quickly and built the wood framing needed to accommodate the new swinging door. The framing is solidly constructed and aesthetically pleasing, and the new door operates perfectly. What a difference! Thanks to the fine products and workmanship provided at a very reasonable cost by Wesco Screen, the air in our home was transformed; it is fresh and alive. Circulating in a gentle motion, the air inside the structure is as sweet and healthful as the air on the surrounding hillside. read more

In my research into retractable door screens I came across the Phantom product and spoke with several dealers...I was not happy with the price and continued to search. I contacted Wesco and was told that their product was better and less expensive than Phantom. However, when I received the estimate it was nearly four hundred dollars more than Phantom. I will not be using Wesco and I am continuing to research other companies and products. read more

The work is decent, the customer service was terrible. First conversation with sales guy was alright. He said my order of window screens would be ready in a week, but I needed to be onsite to give dimensions for an irregular window to a salesman. Called from the site (which was an extra trip), and I get another salesman who says they don't need me onsite and please just give him the measurements cause he's really busy and other customers are waiting. Fine, irritating but fine. I hear nothing after a week, so I call them and I am told it will be another week. So I call after a week and no they aren't ready, need a couple more days. Then they call back that day,and say they are having "trouble" with the measurements I gave them for the irregular screen, so I say nothing about wasting my time with the extra trip and the conflicting directions from these guys, and I tell them to not worry about the irregular one now, I'll pick up my order on Friday, then when I'm onsite installing the finished screens on Friday, I'll call them and work out the problem screen with them over the phone. Sales guy says great, thanks, perfect. Then I go pick up the screens on the agreed upon day, the Woman behind the counter is not in any way friendly or accommodating. She starts by freaking out and saying my order is 11 screens , not 6. When I try to describe the work I had done, she gets snippy cause I don't know the exact nomenclature of the screen types,probably because I don't build screens for a living, that would be her job to explain the correct terms, but she doesn't and is impatient with me. Finally she gets the order straightened out, and I tell her your salesman couldn't finish the irregular screen, so I am going on site and I will call to give the measurements to your salesman to work out the problem. Then she asks what the problem was, and is irritated more when I say I don't know, that's what your salesman told me and he didn't elaborate, but I will call later today and work it out with him. So I pay my bill and go install the screens and then call Wesco, I get the same Lady and she asks for the measurements, and I say I told you I'm supposed to work this out with your sales guys, and she says she is sorry but no one is in Today to help. Are you fucking kidding me? I talked to this sales guy and this Woman about this day beforehand, needing to figure it out with them and they don't bother to tell me no one will be around to help? Fuck you very much! I don't what you people have stuck up your ass or between your ears but the world should know your either incompetent or assholes, either way you will never see another dollar out of me. read more

We got excellent service form Wesco Screen. The owner came out & discussed the different types of screens. He measured all the windows. Not that much longer they were ready & he came & installed them. He messed up on his measurements, so he redid the 1 screen. The screens fit perfectly. We also bought an 8 foot sliding screen door. Last week I broke the locking mechanism. Today I called to buy a replacement and he told me to come get one for free! We purchased the screens about 2 years ago.
