We are very pleased with the installation we received from Brad, owner of Door Beautiful. First, the reason we chose him is that wherever we went in Sonoma County and asked at door retailers who they recommended, his name came up every time - everyone in this business knows Brad! Secondly, we looked at several brands /lines of doors before deciding on the one we wanted by style, material and also picking out the door handle/lock. When Brad came over to our house to give us an estimate he confirmed all our decisions as being correct for the right reasons. For ex: getting a Fiberglass door vs. wood- they last longer and are made better than they used to be. Third, we wanted to paint the doors ourselves, but he recommended that we have the doors primed professionally, as they cover everything before the hardware is put on and the door is assembled. So that is what we did. As soon as the rain lets up we will paint the final coat to match the house. Fourth, we always like to get at least two or three bids, and Brad was not the least expensive, but he was very up front about costs. So we contacted another company who had a good reputation from Marin and for the same door and work they were 40% higher(!!) Finally, Brad was very attentive to what we wanted and delivered on what he said he would in a timely fashion (one day), left no mess, and the doors were balanced and hung perfectly. Brad is a Door Guru!!! I found Brad on yelp and called him. I was struggling trying to figure out how to replace my very old warped front door. As you may know, this is not a straight forward issue. I had called others, visited few showrooms and was trying to get a quote from a Marin Lumber that never got back to me for months after i visited with them with all the info for a custom door. Brad came to the rescue and did a fantastic job. He is a great resource and has lots of great advice. Door Beautiful is a local company and we wanted to support a county small business. He recommended local hardware store to order the door from and he then picked up the new door for us. Door specialists at hardware store were super easy to work with and very helpful. We also had a security door as part of the replacement project and Brad picked that up too. He ordered the door handle/lock assembly we chose from a user-friendly online catalog he provided us. It was easy to work with him via email to send him all the specs, etc. to organize our project and he always responded timely. The door company he recommended was a quality door builder and had a helpful website to design the door. The door installation happened all in one day and Brad was very professional, respectful, friendly and very experienced in knowing how to carefully install the door. He had great attention to detail in leveling out our uneven door threshold so the door closed exactly and prepared/painted door trim very neatly.
