We recently engaged a painter to redo our interior paint and he recommended that we take our window screens over to California Screen Machine. We did and they completely built out new screens for us, but in hindsight what we should have done is contact them directly first. They would have come out to our house and measured everything directly themselves. But because we brought our screens to them and they used our screens to construct the new replacements and we had a few glitches. That being said, they made everything right, including a house call several weeks later when we had a screen that was falling out. They came, grabbed the screen and brought a replacement within the week. Wow, verbal descriptions of Seaview screen material doesn't do it justice. It's stainless steel but doesn't look like metal, it's super tough against cats, dogs, or your guests running into it. It looks invisible! Besides the quality, Nick the installer was professional and a pleasure to meet. I couldn't recommend Brian and his service more highly, so I gave him 5 stars. I've been doing a lot of deferred maintenance in the past few weeks and had some torn screen doors. Because they were 20 years old, I knew I would have to replace them --- 10 in all, and since they were French doors with handles, I had to have the work done on-site rather than risk damaging the handles to take them somewhere. I called the few places that do this work, and was surprised by the price, flakiness, or lack of professionalism I encountered. I discussed my needs with Brian, and he agreed to work with me on the price since I had so many to do. He was delightful on the phone, and even more so in person. He was professional every step of the way: called to let me know he'd be 15 minutes late, used a superior screening material for the same price, and showed me how to bring my sun-bleached bronze frames back to life with WD40-silicone -- they look like new, it's amazing. He did a great job, and was a relaxed person to have around for the afternoon. He services Sonoma, and other locations too. He took the time to show us the screen options available and the price differences for each as well as providing us details on how he makes the screens so they are stronger and last longer than the ones that were original to our home. I first contacted Brian Roth at "The Screen Machine" when I was looking for an over sized screen door with a large "doggie door". Brian came by my home the same day, showed me pictures of doors and measured. He told me it would take 2 weeks to arrive after ordering. Two weeks later Brian called and scheduled a day to install the beautiful new screen door with a doggie door! After the new screen door was installed I scheduled to have every screen on my home replaced. Brian made new heavier frames and used a finer screen material. The new screens are almost transparent!
