It is from an independent local company that was very reasonable and has a great warranty. Nick was my initial contact and he had great suggestions and advice. He was polite and on time. Dani in the office and other support staff were also great. The work was done much sooner than anticipated. Santiago and Rocky were great with the install. They showed up a 1/2 hour early at 8:30, but were politely waiting outside in case I wasn't ready. When I realized they were there, I was more than happy to get the work started early. Our shower in the master bath dislodged from the pivot hinge. After a couple weeks of trying in fix it myself we decided to replace the entire door and hinges as the frame around the door was worn and stained in some areas. Called a local shower door business and installer. Came out to measure and we never heard back even after calling them twice. We then looked up Sonoma Shower Doors and gave them a visit. Excellent service they said a person would be out to measure in a couple days. Measurements completed and we were told that the door would be ordered but could take up to 3 weeks because of the well known supply chain issues. 4 days later the door was delivered to the store and the next day was installed in our master bath. A nice surprise, 4 days instead of 3 weeks. The installer was super nice and installed the door perfectly. Cleaned up everything and was on his way in a few hours. There are a multitude of places one can go to get shower doors. To be fair, I only came to Sonoma Shower Doors; but I did upon the recommendation of Dennis Ward of Ward's Tile Works who made a shower for me that is so beautiful that one would rightly mistake it for a mausoleum. That said, how could I not get the most beautiful and precious shower doors that money could buy? I had no idea that shower doors came with so many options! Type of glass: One can get "regular glass" which has that greenish tinge that you might have noticed when you gaze outside the window of bullet proof car windows. This glass is effective, but might be seen as, "So you built this nice shower and then bought cheap glass at the end eh? WTF!" So I got the Star Brite glass. This is the glass that is crystal clear. This is the kind of glass that people walk into because they can't see it. It gives the shower that extra "pop" that takes the breath away; well, if you like showers anyway. Protection of glass: SSD will do the Diamon Fusion process on your doors. This is a process where they subject the glass to a process in which the microscopic pores of the class are filled in so that the glass behaves as if you have treated it with Rainx. It repels liquids. It reduces cleaning time by 90% and eliminates the need for harsh chemicals. The hardware: Brushed nickel to compliment my "brushed nickel" theme. The door handle appears to float in mid-air on the Star Brite glass. With a frameless install, it's nothing less than "stunning". The fitting and install: I had no idea how critical the measurements for the glass and the meticulous effort that goes into the install. The fact is that tolerances of the glass have to be exact for a tight fit of the glass to the wall. No shower has perfect 90 degree angles, so the measurements must be precise. Likewise the install job is carefully done. After the install, I was given my Diamon Fusion guarantee and maintenance instructions. They also gave me a nice little squeegee and a can of glass cleaner. The glass cleaner should be non-ammonia to maintain the protection. read more

We hired Sonoma Shower Doors to do the glass for our outdoor iron deck railing, and they were a pleasure to work with. John was very patient and easy going through our entire too-long project (NOT Sonoma Shower Doors fault), and provided tech specs on all components as requested. Once the iron rails were installed, John quickly came and measured, ordered the glass, then returned to install the same day it arrived in his shop. Due to the glass manufacturer's errors, three pieces (out of 14) had to be re-ordered, but the turnaround time was minimal. He came out to my house a couple days later at my request for measurements and also with him he brought glass samples to compare the 2 different types in my bathroom (we were installing a brand new shower door). Never again! They installed a glass shower door as a subcontractor during an addition we built on our house so we could do our final inspection even without the shower tile work being completed.. Everyone knew from the beggining that we would need them to come back for a reinstall after the shower tile was finished. When I called everything seemed to go smooth at first. The installer came back out to check the job and report back to his boss that the door would still fit in the opening. The installer said it would take 30-45 minutes to complete. The installer (Freddy) was polite, professional, and great at listening. Then the runaround began.. They wanted another $250.00! When I called and eventually got the owner he starts yelling at me on the phone and telling me he doesn't care what his installer said..it's a "maybe it will fit" job and it's "going to be a lot of work". It ended up taking Freddy all of 37 minutes to complete! Long story short, I felt like I was blackmailed into paying the $250.00 or try to get someone else to come out to reinstall and lose my warranty. So I paid. But if I ever need another door..it won't come from this company! And if anyone ever asks who I recommend, it won't be them! Run away!!! read more

I had two bids on our custom built shower for frameless doors/enclosures. Both prices were comparable. I chose Sonoma Showerdoors because of the demeanor of John, the first to measure for the job. When I received their bid I realized I needed to make some alterations before moving forward. This required re measuring and Luis came out. Again great attitude and professionalism. I accepted their bid and placed 50% down and they had the glass company make the doors/enclosures. Then Ma Nature came along. Our house in Calistoga was one of the first to go up in flames during the Tubbs Fire on the night of October 8th. On Monday or Tuesday I called Sonoma Showerdoors and left a message to cancel the rest of the contract. Later Luis called and left a message (cell coverage spotty) expressing his condolences for our loss and saying that of course we could cancel the contract. I didn't expect it to go any further. I had put almost $4K down and they had the glass made. Nobody's fault just bad luck. Yesterday while my wife and I were sifting the rubble of our home I receive a call from Lori at Sonoma Showerdoors. They had talked with their glass company (Lori described them as exceptional) and between them decided on a full refund on our deposit. Amazing! So I won't get to see the final fit and finish of their work for a year or so until after we rebuild. Once again they will measure and bid the job, but I won't need competitive bids.
