Our son's orthodontist is just across the street thus we decided to pop in while we waited. The restaurant has a simple clean vibe and the food is super fresh. The owner was really nice which made the experience even better!

Menu cover reflects the vib! Nice cover.

Invited for a gathering here and was pleasantly surprised! Small well run, clean, and cozy little cafe. Tucked away in a place most wouldn't normally find. The Lady who owns it has made it her own. A former Mexican restaurant; she has completed the change to a lovely American cafe. Friendly service and above average cafe fare is in keeping with the 'Window Box' theme. I had an excellent Belgian waffle and a rasher of beautiful bacon. The coffee was excellent and the cup was kept full! Handicap parking at the door, outside seating in nice weather and a hop skip and jump from Roseville's Costco.

Cute window seat.

Ambiance- clean look inside and out. Yellow and Pastel inside, lots of windows and garden views. Multiple rooms inside give it a cottage feel. Service - very good and friendly Food - reasonably priced. We enjoyed our meal. California omelet and mini pancakes wasnbareky finished, a lot of food. Good hashbrowns. Chicken fried steak - good patty, gravy was a little bland, but I am not a gravy on my meet guy. Very good country potatoes and eggs. Mini pancakes (2 - 5 inch cakes) was just enough to round off the meal and barely able to eat it all.

SO GOOD

This little breakfast/brunch spot has a special place in my heart. It's so cute inside and the food is so gooood! Service is great and I've never had any complaints! I recommend their cinnamon roll if you're craving something sweet in the A.M!

Not a lot of people on a Thursday morning however we stood at the front desk for a while before the waitress noticed we were there. Only one other couple dining at the time we got there. Quaint yet clean place. Very chill and service was quick. Would come back again.

Cute as a button!

Ask the Community - Window Box Cafe

Do they take reservations?

Not that I know of but you can always try and request. They're very friendly and helpful there.

Any gluten-free options on the menu?

Yes

Do they charge he for splitting food? My 88 year old mom went there and she wanted to share a waffle but they said there was a charge for that.

I went there and asked for an extra plate to split with my friend and there was NO charge. They said there is only a charge if the cooks split the food up in the kitchen for us.

During that time, they served me a glass of water and I quickly ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich - I had looked at the menu earlier - with a side of fruit. The sandwich was really great! They served the sandwich with the grilled, chicken breast, bacon, and BBQ sauce with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on the side. I'm not a fan of onions, so I did not have those, but it was nice to have the lettuce and the tomatoes have that nice taste when it hasn't been smothered in BBQ sauce or others as it's being cooked by the chicken like other places prepare them. I honestly left satisfied. This place really did live up to the recommendations and reputation it has. Our gym, Positive Impact Fitness always talks about this place and it was really worth it. I shall return in due time.

Seeing as how its bulking season, I finally had a chance to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This is probably my new favorite breakfast spot. Its not perfect, but its still great. We got the Cooter's benedict...which isnt really a Benedict but more just biscuits and gravy. The sausage was surprisingly hand made! I couldn't believe it. Usually most places just give you pre-made Jimmy Dean's type of sausages. My wife doesnt like sausage in general and she actually loves the sausage here. The country potatoes are something that I skip almost everytime from every single breakfast spot, but for what is probably the first time ever, they were actually seasoned! Whatever person thought that just putting oil, onions, and bell peppers in a pan for a few minutes and the serving it should be castrated. The plate could have used more gravy, but the biscuits were so fluffy they basically fell apart and weren't dry and hard like some places. And you know how some places charge to split a plate? Not here! We also got the stuffed French toast which was just as great. The toast wasn't too eggy, plenty of scratch made whipped cream, and weren't skimpy on the blueberries either. Also wasn't overstuffed where all you could taste was cream cheese. I did try the homemade looking jam, but I would say its a bit concerning. I cant imagine them cleaning out the container after every table leaves and you never know what type of person before you is in the jar. All in all, this is the new default breakfast spot for sure.

Nope. Not sure why this place has the score it does, but it is NOT a 4.3. A 2.5 maybe. Chicken and…read morewaffles - yuck. My son kept pointing out the decorations and really got a kick out of the theme while we waited for our food. He ordered a huge pancake which definitely lived up to the name. I went with the Cajun omelette and my brother ordered the Riverboat omelette. The portions were generous and everything came out hot. I did feel the dishes were a little light on salt, but the flavors were still good and the amount of food you get makes it a great value. We also tried the fried green tomatoes which were a nice addition to the meal. Overall it was a solid breakfast and I would happily come back again.

I had asked one of their excellent staff members to see if she was ok -- she had been in there for some time. She WAS OK. l finally went into the room (10 minutes later) to check on her myself. Between the time of the first check & "now", she HAD fallen on the semi-wet floor & couldn't get up by herself. My wife has Parkinson's disease . I helped her up but we had to leave immediately for the Emergency Room - she had broken something in her arm! After casting her wrist (& having x-rays of her head, neck wrist, & arm), we drove home. The next day, Wednesday, January 21st, I talked with another friend at Huckelberries while I was picking up an Arnold Palmer for my wife, I jokingly said that we should sue the establishment. After a couple of laughs, I reiterated that this was just a joke. She shared this information with Dominic, her manager. Dominic immediately texted me saying we could no longer eat there. Also if ANYONE working there talked with myself or my wife, they would be fired immediately! I shared with him that I had been joking & I stated that we would not do anything more. I was just JOKING. (A lousy Joke, I realize now, but a joke nonetheless.) During our limited back & forth "talking", NOT ONCE DID HE ASK HOW MY WIFE WAS!! Not Once! I feel that this was something that anyone, especially with a business background, should/would ask. But not Dominic. Therefore, I feel that this business, this MANAGER, receives the very lowest of ratings from me.

They do have signs in the restaurant warning about getting towed if parked at other businesses. As for the food, everything was delicious! It wasn't really sweet compared to other restaurants and it didn't really become soggy (it was saved for last). If I'm ever in the Roseville/Rocklin area again, I would definitely come back.

There was lots of parking right in front of the restaurant that made getting inside super convenient. There was plenty of room for us to sit at a large table with our babies in high chairs & strollers nearby. Inside the cafe is decorated very nicely. The staff were so kind and welcoming too. I ordered a mocha and the sweet cheese crepes. My mocha was the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolatey! I savored every sip. The real star of the show though, were the crepes. They were perfectly soft but with a slight crisp on the outside just like I like them. The filling was sweet but not overly and was well balanced with the slight bitterness from the berry topping on the crepes. Overall the ambiance, food, and accessibility make this a great spot for brunch! Will definitely be coming back.

There is also a side area to eat, however there were a number of flies buzzing around, which made it unappetizing (this was kept my review from being a full five stars). As for the food, there was only one plant-based (vegan friendly) option for me: the cilantro lime avocado toast. This came topped with micro greens and pickled onions, and with a side of potatoes. The portions were very generous for the price and the food was delicious. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff were kind. I also ordered an Americano that was good. This spot is like a little hidden green jewel in Citrus Heights. I hope more businesses fill out this complex so they can continue to do well.
