Windmill Restaurant in Kokomo is one of those local spots I keep returning to. It has that classic hometown vibe that feels welcoming the moment you walk in. The service is consistently friendly, which really adds to the experience. The food always hits the spot. Especially the Hoosier breakfast, which is my go-to whether I'm stopping in for breakfast or lunch. Parking is plentiful, so getting in and out is never an issue. Overall, it's a dependable place for a satisfying meal anytime. Efficient: Yes First-Time Friendliness: Yes Would I Return: Yes JY review

We stopped into Windmill Grill randomly one day for lunch, and were really happy we did. We had no idea what would be good, so we just winged it. The meatloaf here is better than your mom's. I'm not kidding. Best we have ever had. (the picture is only 1 out of 2 you get, because we started eating it before we could get the shot). We also ordered the onion straws, and these are really special. Something about the way they season them, and cooked to perfection. And the sauce that goes along with it is excellent as well. We are excited to go back and try more menu items.

H20. Don't forget to hydrate kids!

I recommend this place because the waitress gave us water every 30 seconds and the menu is amazing. Would recommend to everyone and anyone

There are 3 floors to this historic mansion to explore for only $10. The architecture is amazing. I got a lot of pictures here. It was worth the hour drive to Kokomo from Indy. Staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful as well.

Kokomo, Indiana's Seiberling Mansion is a rather sublime sight to see during the holiday season…read more Serving as home for the Howard County Historical Society, the Seiberling Mansion was completed in 1891 and owned by Monroe Seiberling. Seiberling was an industrialist and entrepreneur who arrived in Kokomo alongside the late 19th century gas boom. He became wealthy, built several factories in the area, and followed all this up by building a rather remarkable mansion. Subsequent owners included Orange Darby, Rev. William Parr (namesake for Parr Methodist Church), real estate developer Franklin Miller, and George Kingston. Kingston was an inventor who invented the carburetor used in Henry Ford's Model T. When Kingston passed away in 1946, Indiana University bought the home and used it as the home of IU-Kokomo until 1964. For several years, the mansion remained empty. Finally, Howard County began looking for a way to move the county museum out of the courthouse. This ended up being a perfect arrangement and IU signed a long-term agreement to turn over the property for use as a museum. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972, the Seiberling Mansion has both a Queen Anne and Romanesque Revival style. The house has three stories - eight rooms on the first floor, seven on the second floor, and a grand ballroom on the third floor. Parking is free. The parking lot entrance is behind the museum off West Walnut street. The front door is the main entrance, though the accessible entrance is at the rear of the house. It's important to note that only the first floor is actually accessible (there's no elevator), though there is a virtual video available on the first floor for the second and third floors. There are public restrooms on the first and second floors, though it should also be noted these are not wheelchair accessible. The museum is open Tuesday-Sunday from 1-4pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for K-12, and free for under age 5. The museum is a Blue Star Museum - this means active military and family members get in free from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They do have periods when they close - so checking their website is always a good idea just to be sure. The Seiberling Mansion can be rented for a maximum of 25 people. Rental rates on the website. The adjacent Elliott House is also available. While I always lament not having full access to places, with historic locations it's understandable and expected that access isn't going to be perfect. This is beautiful to see, though I'm not sure I can give it a full thumbs up for those with mobility issues since entry is $10 and you really only get to access one of three floors. That said, the virtual tour is pretty cool and the building itself is wonderful.

Guests were not allowed to come back, not even for a dinner roll. We had 30 guests that we paid for who did not show up. We should have had more than enough food and then some. At the end of the reception we were told that there were leftovers, but we could not have them. He made up an excuse about not allowing us to take them unless we had coolers. A relative who lived nearby left and quickly returned with several coolers 10 minutes later, and he informed us that he had gotten rid of the food! His staff was seen leaving that night with styrofoam food containers! Also, do NOT think that you will get your initial deposit back. You will not. We had a very well-behaved and respectful group of people, and we were very respectful of their facilities. He and his wife found ways to add on extra charges and nickel and dime over half of our deposit away. I can't tell you how disappointed we were with our experience! The owner was quite friendly before we signed with them. He did a wonderful job of selling himself in the beginning, but was so incredibly rude the night of the reception. I would never book another event with these people. The owners are not honest people and seriously lack integrity!

I'm addicted to their greek salad with hot bacon dressing and their sauteed spinach *OMG!!* They are also very helpful for all your event planning needs. They have VERY affordable rates, which most people don't expect I guess, for really nice quaility of services. They have several different sizes of rooms, all of which have a decent level of class that is hard to find at any of the other banquet halls in Kokomo (one perk is that the sewage treatment plant is NOT across the street. LOLLLL). The pool and poolside services are awesome. I usually try to go by the pool and have a margarita and a greek salad as much as possible in the summer. They have a nice locker room to get ready in, as many as you need towels, free sunscreen, and lots of water toys. Very stress free. They also have a baby pool that few use but its great to sunbathe and stay cool...the reflective water also greatly improves you tan. :)
