Gross! Not crispy soaked in grease. Very disappointed!
Rebecca M.

Used to love Ray's tenderloins and onion rings. Today onion rings were soggy with grease and the tenderloins were frozen and not what I asked for.

Hole in the wall type establishment. Nothing fancy at all just plain old great tenderloin. Very nice wait staff fast service. King tenderloin was huge. They split it so we could take half home with us. Would go back if in the area.

Tenderloin about as big as the steering wheel!

Great drive in! Had the king tenderloin, delicious and giant! Breading was crunchy and flavorful. Very friendly staff. Came in 30 minutes before close and they were happy to help me (took to go cause, cmon, they have lives too!)

Best tenderloin in the world! Order the "King and split it!!!! They only do their special breading on the King so order it!! Huge menu with daily specials.

This establishment is one of our must go-to spots whenever we are in town. They make one of the best tenderloins we've ever tasted. The King Tenderloins are big enough to feed 3 or 4 people. Love that! And the staff is very friendly.

The very definition of a hole in the wall. So review has nothing to do with ambiance lol…read moreI'm a transplanted New Yorker so a tenderloin is not part of my memories and honestly, I mostly don't enjoy fried sandwiches. In the world of tenderloins, these are stars. I ordered a lunch special my husband wisely ordered the tenderloin. Mine was...well look at the pictures. It was very tasty with the tenderloin you can taste that it's pork not a fried cracker. I will certainly get one next time. It's honestly the way to go.. I have a very sensitive nose and I can smell old oil at 100 feet there was no smell of oil at all. My husband had fries and they were not at all oily. Your waiter and waitress are the owners and the cook and whatever needs to be done I guess very pleasant prompt service. I'm going to post a bunch of pictures. The mashed potatoes in the picture are actual mashed potatoes not fake The green beans are probably canned possibly frozen. They were fine. My husband is the gravy connoisseur and he said the gravy was excellent. Everything you see in the pictures that I post everything including a 20% tip came to $22 and less than $.50 unbelievable .

The tiny diner…read moreprobably hasn't changed much over those 80 years with original vinyl counter seats and Formica tables. I counted five booths and five counter stools that stayed full during our visit. The staff (a couple) are salt-of-the-earth sweet and hustle to keep orders coming. They know the regulars by name and cajole about family. The menu offers breakfast or lunch, with tenderloins as the featured items. Prices are inexpensive. Food comes out quickly. The tenderloins are premade and frozen. They are thin and the breading is flavorful. I had the daily special, a Tenderloin Manhattan which came with green beans and mashed potatoes. This was pure comfort food. The potatoes and tenderloin were good, but the gravy was over salty for me. My husband had the tenderloin sandwich with fries. The tenderloin was ok and the fries were really hot and good. An article on the wall indicated that Artie, the original owner, passed away in an auto accident in 1954. A local business award plaque hung above our table. I'm not sure that the shop is A.D.A. compliant as there are steps at the front door and the aisle is very narrow. There may be a ramp at a rear entrance, I couldn't tell. We found free street parking on an adjacent street. I give the place high marks on character and I love the service. The food is ok.

I have driven by this place to get to Target and Marshalls so many times, but it always seemed so…read morepacked I never really wanted to bother to stop. I did see they allow you to make reservations on Open Table, so I booked it for a weekday to try it out. It wasn't nearly as busy as the parking lot looked, there was plenty of seating. It was a nice day so they had the windows open and they also had someone playing live music so it was a tad loud but, not overly loud where you can't hear your conversation. The menu is not your typical menu, it's very crafty if that's a word. The service was very good, and she explained the menu well and we took her up on her recommendations. Turkey pastrami which I had never had before. It tastes really fresh and felt healthy. The salad comes in a little small bowl but full of goodness. It's a really nice place for a girls night out, or a family dinner. Wouldn't consider it a good place for date night as it is pretty loud.

Upon entering I noticed how cute the decor was and how open it was. The kitchen is even behind glass so you can see most of it from your table. This place would be awesome for groups. The servers wear whatever makes them comfortable and fits their style which is a nice touch to the theme. But where the home runs were was the food. We had a hard time deciding on an appetizer as they all sounded so good. We went with the wagyu pigs in a blanket. They are cooked perfectly and seasoned well and juicy. I got the chicken katsu sandwich on Japanese milk bread and o my gosh it was so flavorful and I like anything else you can find around. The breading is light and not overly crunchy. I still think about that sandwich. Hubby ordered the short ribs and he said they were flavorful and tender and juicy. I can't express how amazing the food is here. You just have to give it a try. It's worth it.
