But when you step in, it's a homage to the art of meat preparation. The owner Steve is a gem. You can tell this is not only a quality business but also a passion project that he has continued from his father. My daughter is a recent Purdue graduate from '25 class. We are not local, but from NJ. She found this place as part of a local walk and stopped by to pick up a gift certificate to give as a thank you gift.. She noticed they do catering- and thank goodness!. We rented an Airbnb for her graduation so family can stay with us and had planned to have a caterer. But the caterer I booked 4 months prior to graduation cancelled on me one week prior to the event! I was left high and dry. My daughter remembered that Beutlers caters! Steve literally saved us when all others could not or would not. He was not only empathetic to our situation, but he made sure we had an amazing feast and thought of everything to ensure we had the celebration we envisioned. The food was so incredibly good. My family was raving about it all weekend long. Truly THE best pulled Pork and Beef brisket we've ever had. And for a family that doesn't even like beans, they couldn't stop eating it! So good, it should be illegal. We had leftovers for days. Best of all, Steve told me he prepped all the food himself. His TLC was evident. He made sure we had everything needed, even lovely serving baskets and lighters for sternos! My only regret is that my daughter graduated, and I have no known future opportunities to call on Steve again to work his magic. I hope this review gains traction. They have fried chicken, ribs, ham, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and steaks. They also have macaroni, green beans, collard greens, potato salad, backed beans, french fries, and baked potato. If that was not enough, they have a self-serve barbecue sauce station with a wide assortment of sauces to choose from. I ordered a brown sugar baked ham sandwich with a side of collard greens and baked beans. I also got a heat and serve chili and meatloaf for Christmas dinner. My ham sandwich was packed with meat. It was overflowing. It was delicious, very flavorful and tasty. The baked beans very also very tasty and had a bit of a kick to them, just like I like it. The collard greens were sweet as advertised, they had a slight vinegar taste, but not too strong. It has a distinct taste and I liked it a lot. The sweets and their barbecue sauces are all made in house and are mmmmm, mmmm delicious. My favorite sauce was their hot honey sauce. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed them. This is not only a very nice spot to have your catering needs met, but to eat some nice Q. The smoke flavor permeated throughout. The sauce (Rick's Sweet Sauce) was just what I needed to balance the flavor. I think I could almost eat this every day and be satisfied. The hash brown casserole was very good, but as compared to the generous portion of ribs, you get maybe a couple of bites of the casserole. I just wish I'd had more. I would definitely order from here again, and I know I would want to try so many of the other offerings on their menu.
