Honestly, the place is divided into a bar side and a "family" side. The family side is so much smaller, and usually has way more people to accommodate so it's pretty inconvenient. The service was sub-par at best. It was busier, so I wanted to give some grace, but it took forever to get our meal, like 45min and we ordered cheeseburgers and wings. What a great find! We had excellent service here and the food was fantastic. There's also a dog park located in the parking lot and a dog-friendly patio, so you can wear out your pup and then bring him over for lunch. It's also right along a walking trail, so it's great for people watching. My sole complaint is that they allow smoking on the patio. This is a bummer for two reasons. First, ew, smoking. And second, because they allow smoking, children cannot be on the patio. We were traveling with a dog, so I had to sit on the patio with the dog while my husband sat inside with our kiddo. read more

This is possibly the nicest restaurant in Kokomo. It's located right on the river off the trail right across the street from a new apartment (condo?) complex. The surrounding areas are pretty blighted and desolate, but Foxes Trail shines like a beacon. The menu is fairly straightforward American fare, but kicked up a notch. Cute local spot with great food! Great dinner spot downtown Kokomo with easy parking and friendly servers. They offer several seating types and a bar only area for 21+. Drinks are all reasonably priced (cocktails for under $6!) though we didn't try any this visit. We split a prime rib and the grouper between 3 adults (4 sides total) and it was MORE than enough food (leftovers for sure). The prime rib was medium rare and tender and juicy! It came with green beans which we weren't expecting but were delicious (doctored up with bacon and all). The grouper was light and flaky and a huge portion! We were in Kokomo to pick something up and I really didn't want some chain restaurant food . I looked and looked but casual and table service isn't easy . Then my husband said foxes trail . Good idea . First of all I saw two women each eating alone which shows you how comfortable the atmosphere is . Also one large group . It was lunch time so the place wasn't that full and service was immediate . We've been here a few times and I always get the clam chowder it's delicious. I lived in New England for years and although there might be one place in Keene New Hampshire that has better chowder foxes trails chowder is every bit as good as most of the chowders you get in New England and that's saying something .my husband the native Hoosier had the tenderloin sandwich . He showed me inside and it was a nice piece of meat not all coating . I had the clam strip basket mostly nice plump clams and of course the bits you get with any fried clams .his came with real onion rings and mine with crinkle cut potato slices which were nice . The " cup" of soup is bigger than most bowls elsewhere so we couldn't finish our meals . They certainly don't skimp on portions . This might bother some people but it doesn't bother me . The inside is screaming for an update. It's pretty ugly and dark almost comically so . lol honestly it's remarkably dated . My suggestion is you just look at your food and not the decor. read more

We came here on a Wednesday afternoon and we're pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in the door. It is one of the coolest bars I've ever seen. It is totally circular and made out of gorgeous wood surrounded by high rock walls. I'm guessing that building used to be an old factory or something, it was just beautiful inside. For lunchtime, the lighting was quite dim which I didn't care for but I was at least able to read the menu. We settled on hot pepper cheese balls for an appetizer and my husband got their breaded tenderloin and I got their roast beef sandwich with au jus. The cheese balls tasted like a denser cheddar cheese/ jalapeno cheese, not just a hot pepper cheese curd. The coating was rather dense and tough though, which if it had been lighter it would be more pleasant to eat. It came with their homemade ranch dressing for dipping and it was awesome! The breaded tenderloin was so big, for the first time ever, my husband had to take part of it home to eat later. It came with circular "fries" that were just the right combo of crunch and pillowly softness inside. I got a side salad with my sandwich and it was huge for a side salad. Came with tomatoes, onion and shredded cheese. I got the blue cheese dressing and it was so good! My sandwich was super flavorful and the bun was nice and soft, the au jus is was delicious! I took half of it home for lunch the next day and it was just as good warmed up. Our server was sweet and helpful and despite the fact she was super busy, we never felt neglected. Next time we pass through Kokomo, we are definitely coming here again! (By the way, they had drunk menu's at the table and I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonably they were priced, even though I never ordered one). read more

We picked this restaurant on a whim - wanted something that offered seafood as well as sandwiches. We started outside but moved in when the breeze picked up and our waitress stayed with us. I've had a lot of enjoyable meals this years, but this was probably the best yet. It's started with a very nice fresh baked bread, followed by an equally good side salad. If I could give zero stars I would we came in close to 4:30 pm and there was quite a crowd already in there seated well we got are drinks quickly and appetizer but our food never came after waiting almost 2 hours which is so ridiculous mind you I'm pregnant with a 10 month old baby my 10 year old and my husband so who wants to sit around and wait so long for food I'm so disappointed because the food is actually really good well we left hungry and mad waiters were nice but I guess someone mixed up out tickets back there but even people who got there way later received there food about 20 min before we gave up and left ugh I'm so sad horrible horrible experience read more

It came with grouper nuggets, scallop, shrimps, clam strips, and other types of fish. It was fresh and the batter wasn't too thick. Have been here a lot in the last couple of years. Love it. Warm bread is served for the table. Salads are always fresh, crisp and good size. The spinach salad comes with a sweet, hot dressing. Delicious. Steaks are cooked properly, seafood is possibly the best in Kokomo. They make a great margarita and flavored martinis. Friendly servers. Clean, cozy, well lit but not too bright, relaxing atmosphere. Large bar if you wish to sit there. High tables also available. Family area and outdoor seating also. The food, the service, and the ambiance was top notch. My Elderly Mom and I were visiting a friend at the Silver birch apartments nearby and someone recommended this restaurant with a great vibe. Spot on recommendation! We had iced tea, taco salad, a Caesar salad with chicken, and carrot cake. As we were leaving they gave us two iced teas to go. Nice touch for two out of towners. I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Kokomo is known for having chain restaurants, so it was a nice breath of fresh air to go and support a local spot. We went on a Friday night, so it was pretty busy. The atmosphere of this place feels like you're walking into a log cabin in the woods. They have a patio as well, but we decided to stay inside since it was such a hot day. The food was delicious. All meals come with bread, so thats a plus. I ordered a ribeye, mac and cheese, and a salad. The ribeye was mouthwatering and I probably could've eaten it all if I really tried. Mac and cheese was pretty solid. The salad was good, but there was WAY too much shredded cheese on it. It was like someone took a literal handful and dumped it on there. I finished the salad and had a big ball of cheese leftover The service was a little wonky, but he was busy and said he was running the entire left side by himself. We ordered Oliver wine, and I asked if they sold it by the bottle, and he immediately said no. Well, when we already finished our first glass, he says "oh I guess we do, do you want a bottle?" but we already had our first glass so we said no. Then, we were waiting for awhile on our steaks, and he told us that the kitchen "lost our ticket, but he put a rush order on it," and we waited another 15 min. In reality, pretty sure he forgot to ring it in. Which I get it, I used to serve myself, blame the kitchen. But honestly after the whole wine thing, it rubbed me the wrong way. Those were the two minor things, I think that if possible, one person should not be running a whole side of a restaurant by themselves. Our first visit to this establishment was a pleasant one. For our starters, we ordered crab stuffed mushrooms and enjoyed them thoroughly. They were cheesy, stuffed with real crab, and cooked perfectly. Then for the entrees, I chose one of their specials- fish and chips, my mom picked a grouper fish sandwich, and my daughter ordered chicken strips with french fries. We were all very satisfied with our meals and also had a taste of each others plates. I was so impressed with the grouper that I ordered it on my following visit.
