I visited Coterie on Saturday, November 15th. The primary reason was to listen to the Straight up Chumps, an alternative rock band. The band was incredible, as expected! The added bonus was the atmosphere, service, food and fun of Coterie Kokomo is a mid-sized city about an hour north of Indy. The venue is a local favorite for music and great burgers. They did not disappoint this out of town visitor! The staff was welcoming. The menu, while limited, had a great variety of sandwiches and salads. I chose the Coterie burger which is served with fries. It was fire . The music venue is next door to the primary bar and is full service for food and drinks. The entire evening was so much fun - I highly recommend Coterie for an evening out! read more

Apparently, we couldn't bring our baby in to sit and eat with us. They have booster seats for children up in front by the doors/windows. Their website has no indication that they are a bar or don't allow people/children under the age of 21.... Don't advertise that you are a burger joint if you're not... read more

This is one of my least favorite bars in Kokomo. First, the good: this place has the most live music in town. I've seen all kinds of different bands play in their upstairs. And the food admittedly tastes pretty good, but in my opinion it's too expensive and portion sizes aren't really worth it. But it does taste good. The bad: I'll start with the door fee. I've seen them charge a $10 cover to get into the downstairs when there's not even a band playing upstairs, it's just a regular Friday night or whatever. Door charges are never cool, but especially not when the bar has nothing going on and it's just a room full of snobby 23 year olds. Which brings me to the Ugly: the vibe at this bar is trash. Very cliquey, mostly stuck up hipsters. All the way down to the beer list. Call me old fashioned, but I don't really like a bar where I can't get a Budweiser, especially not a bar where the cheapest drink available is like a $7 10oz draft of some craft stuff that smells like an actual armpit (not hating on IPAs). Also the bartenders don't let you access the jukebox so... That's great or whatever. Now you gotta just sit there listening to "stomp clap hey" kinda stuff while the 35 year old wearing a bowtie and suspenders stares at you like you got a problem. A great local bar with great burgers. Service is always good. Food is great, even better after a few drinks ahah. A great spot in downtown Kokomo. Vibes are always good too. The fried pickles were alright, the batter is like a sweet and thick similar to funnel cake. The burger creations are always spot on and delicious. We will be back soon. read more

Been here a few times while in town on business. Nice selection of bourbon and other spirits. Old fashioned I had was great. The staff is friendly and helpful in helping to pick drinks and food. The food was standard pub food with some twists. Friendly crowd and definitely a local fave. Would totally recommend and will go back. read more

You have to go to The Coterie for the burgers and cheese curds! I'm not sure I've had a better burger in my life. The portions are also very generous. We didn't need an appetizer, but the cheeseburger did not disappoint. The atmosphere isn't my taste but that's not what I was there for. So glad it's close to home- We will be back! read more

My review is a little overdue as I was here in April of 2022. I chose The Coterie online because they had a Beyond burger on the menu, and the person I dined with didn't want to eat at the other places I found with vegan options. This was a bit of a dive bar more than a restaurant, which was fine, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting for a birthday meal. It'd be a cool place to visit on a date or with friends on a weekend though. The Beyond burger was good. I just didn't realize it came with cheese, as I didn't see that on the menu, and asked for it without. I also left off the aioli and asked for mustard. A little strange to me that a Beyond burger would come with dairy. Server didn't understand my request exactly. It seemed a little overpriced at the time, but now in 2023, it costs the same as going to BK but tastes much better. (Dang inflation is killing me.) Food in baskets. Nothing fancy. Pretty good fries. I can't remember the name of it now, but I had a beer from NW Indiana which I chose just because it was from "Da Region." Decent selection of draft beers as I recall with several from different parts of the state. My dining companion had a Moscow Mule but didn't really care for how it was made. The ambience and decor were interesting. I especially liked the neon state of Indiana which changed colors. The bar glasses and plastic water cups had far out there and funny sayings on them. I remember the restroom being small and having a line. I believe they had a whiskey bar upstairs which I did not check out. In a pretty convenient location in downtown Kokomo. Easy walk to street parking and other establishments. I don't mind divey. It wasn't bad. It just didn't particularly stand out as a favorite. I might return at some point for the beer and the sandwich as well as the sign. I'd rather sit at the bar next time instead of the tall table we had. They had a long booth toward the front underneath the Indiana sign as well. read more

All I can say is if you love a great smash burger. This is your place!! Best smash I've ever had. It was so juicy and crispy around the edges. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. We had the fun guy burger. It had sautéed mushrooms and provolone cheese. We also had the shrooms appetizer which was also very tasty. They were different than most deep fried mushrooms. They were more like sliced breaded mushrooms, which made them very tasty. We also got an amaretto sour from the bar. That was also amazing. I will definitely be back. read more

We love this place. We come for lunch, dinner, live music and just to hang out. The burgers are my favorite in Kokomo. And now the bigger menu with that new burger "Double Double Prairie Dog Style". I'm from San Diego and the bartender said "it's like an In n Out burger, animal style" I knew that's the one I had to have. It was amazing!! Pretty damn close to the real thing. I recommend the Mouth Cuddles or they make the best damn sour on the planet. The service is always wonderful too. You also can't go wrong with brunch here on a Sunday. This is our favorite spot in Kokomo. Hidden gem dive bar. AMAZING beer and impressive cocktail selection. Best burgers in Indiana (especially on Wednesday's). The only thing I wish for is that some of their fun events started around 7pm for us old folks! (Especially the drag shows!) The staff are great. Fantastic find in Kokomo. We stumbled upon this place and so glad we did! Right in downtown, which is really being built up nicely I must say. Up a flight of fairly steep stairs awaits a super bar, great atmosphere, and choice craft cocktails. The bartender/beverage manager (I think) was super helpful in navigating spirit options and libations. Really love the use of small batch and/or local suppliers. We arrived on a Tuesday evening and had unfortunately missed the Tacos, got the tail end of Trivia, and did not bring our vinyl for the Turntable portion of the evening. We will definitely be back. Negatives: TV was showing a women giving birth, along with several other vulgar scenes that I did not think were appropriate for a classy bar.
